On the hundredth anniversary of being turned into a vampire, Edith joins her adopted daughters and their friends at the Heartsong Clan's annual "vampires vs humans" LARP recruitment event where she meets an eager Dan Paxton. Dan's older brother and vampire hunter, Darren, thinks he is merely chaperoning a trip to a nerd convention, but when Darren discovers Dan missing, he follows the only lead he has to the Heartsong Clan's residence on Tombstone Row. He's determined to keep his Hunter instincts in check, rescue his brother, and make a clean escape. When an impromptu late-night encounter leads Darren and Edith to be honest with each other about who and what each of them are, Edith longs to keep Darren and his brother close, even though it goes against Clan rules. The two start to grow closer as they seek out the truth from Edith's Sire, Mr. Heartsong, and soon Darren is finding it harder than he thought to snuff out Edith and her family.

4☆ Full of Adventure, Lust and Danger and I can't wait to read more!

Two brothers Dan and Darren both Vampire hunters
Youngest Brother Dan in love with vampire, so he signs up to a recruitment / reenactment In which  vampires potentially recruit humans into their Heartsong clan.

But oldest brother Darren is a dangerous hunter & realises in order to save his brother from danger he must infiltrate the reenactment as a potential human recruit, not letting down his guard or outing himself as a hunter.

But things go horribly wrong when his brother Dan is accused of something horrific and he realises that Edith one of the head vampires knows more about the boys then she's letting on.

Can Darren save his younger brother from immediate death?
Will the bubbling chemistry between Edith and Darren simmer or will their passionate embrace prove too much for him to handle...after all, he has spent his whole life killing and hating vampires.... why is Edith so intoxicating to him! Are vampires as bad as he has been led to believe?

This book ends on a partial cliffhanger and it's left me more than eager to read the next installment.

I loved Edith's backstory I would of loved more though as she's a fascinating character. I'm hoping there will be more in the next installment.

I also really enjoyed the brother's story, I would of liked more of their history and more about them as vampire hunters, too but I know their history wasn't a major part in this particular story.

Also I have to mention Mr heartstone wow what a conniving, manipulative, creepy villain and I loved him! He's everything you expect of a vampire and I really hope we get his story, as I'm pretty sure it's going to be juicy!

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book, it's nowhere near as violent or gory as some of the vampire books I have read and the sexual scenes are tastefully written not as explicit as some I have read.

I really enjoyed the fresh twist on vampires ie, the mirror and seeing the souls they have killed and how some vamps when killed are not turned to dust. I also enjoyed the recruitment plot it was a different spin for me, not like anything I have personally read before.

Overall Hunted is a Gripping, Pacy and Thrilling, Urban Vampire Fantasy that I couldn't put down, and was eager to read more.
The twists were brilliantly plotted and the characters endearing and everything you expect from Vampire books.
This is my first encounter with these Authors and I can't wait to read more! Bring on the next installment!

Hunted is the first book in a series by Sarah Biglow and Molly Zenk.
In this novella we meet two main POVs - Darren and Edith. The book flits between the two of them throughout and I loved that one POV is a vampire and the other a human hunter of vampires.
This book is a short quick read I managed to finish within a few hours but found it to be entertaining and light to read.
The story is about a vampire clan who live amongst humans and hold a type of role-playing event where they split potential recruits into two categories - vampires and humans (all doing role play of each role). The aim is to recruit people on the vampire side into the clan upon completion of the weekend role play event.
During this event, a vampire gets killed and a hunter is uncovered and set up as the murderer. Luckily the person set up as a killer (Daniel) has his older brother Darren to help him clear his name and try to escape being murdered if proven guilty of this crime.
Darren and Edith find there's a spark between them and are drawn to each other despite the fact Darren is a hunter of vampires and Edith has been one for over 100 years. There's a connection for Edith that spans nearly the length her whole existence between the Paxton brothers (Daniel and Darren) which has potentially drawn her to them.

Edith lost her loved one and she wanted to take her life. Someone offered her to live her life as a vampire and do it for her old love's sake. Now one hundred years later, she's the 'mother' of two sisters and they try to recruit more vampires to their clan. They are peaceful and try to show that not all vampires are the evil ones.

Darren and Dan are siblings and vampire hunters. Dan has vampire friends and goes to this roleplay weekend and Darren as the overprotective older brother, follows Dan to the vampire's den, to keep an eye on him. He didn't expect that they had connections to the beautiful vampire hostess or that they would face a life or death test.

I finished this book last night and it was so good!! I loved the enemies to lovers element and also what connected these characters. I loved how delicate our heroine was and her protective streak, as well as our hero's towards his brother! I also appreciate the diversity in this book and how it was all about acceptance and love. If you're craving to read a light paranormal story, this is the one you should choose ❤️

I got this eARC from Netgalley in exhange for a honest review
After seeing alot of great reviews of this book i was sort of hyped up for it. But this really missed the mark for me. I didn`t feel the chemistry between Darren and Edith, and his conversation with Hope and Angel were just really awkward. Darren was also kind of cruel how he mentioned Daniel and stuff, just because he did not get laid. I just didn`t like the characters together. Meh.

I really enjoyed this story. It is a vampire romance which I always enjoy. The book drags you in and grips you from the beginning. The author's does a great job writing the characters so you can't help but feel the emotion they are going through.

Edith is a vampire. After her fiance dies in the war she is turned into a vampire and for 100 years she has lived with her "daughters" Hope and Angel.

Every year they hold a convention. Its seen as a role play weekend where people can see what the life of a vampire is like and if they want to they can also be turned.

However this time is different. Two of the people on the weekend are Hunters.

Darren and his younger brother Dan are trained as Hunters and its their job to rid the earth of vampires. When Dan goes missing Darren follows him and finds him at Edith's weekend convention.

Things aren't what they seem though and Darren and Edith need to work together to figure things out. The closer they work, the closer they become. Can a relationship between them ever work? Can Darren forget being a hunter to save Edith and her family? And what or who is working against them.

Thank you to Love Book Tours for my copy of Hunted ahead of me taking part in the book tour for the sequel Allied. This in no way affects my opinion.

I wasn't sure what to expect heading into Hunted, and while I enjoyed it, I felt that there was quite a bit missing for me to love it. I feel as if I wanted it to be that little bit longer, so the relationships were a bit more fleshed out and made a bit more sense.

The characters were probably my favourite part of Hunted as they were where Sarah Biglow and Molly Zenk put in most of the effort. As the book was centred around Edith and Darren, we learnt a lot about them and their motivations, which I found pretty interesting. I would have loved to have seen some more of the interactions with the other characters, as I think that would have added to the background of the story. One thing that I was not a fan of was the relationship between Edith and Darren. It moved so quickly that there wasn't time for it to develop and feel natural; it all felt a bit forced. I hope that we see a few more of the smaller moments that make a relationship seem a bit more natural in the sequel.

I wasn't as invested as I wanted to be in the plot as it seemed as if it was going round in circles to me. I guessed pretty early on what was going to happen and how the story would play out, which took away some of the atmosphere for me. But I can see how Hunted is setting up a much bigger storyline which I am intrigued by. I think the atmosphere would have been a bit stronger if I felt that the stakes were higher, but I just didn't feel as if anyone was in real danger at any moment.

I am curious about the direction that the sequel is going to take as I hope that Hunted was just the starting point for a much wider story that I will enjoy a little bit more.

This is the story of a group of vampires, who live alongside humans, trying to recruit new converts to their clan. This is done by inviting young people to a role playing weekend where they can learn the truth about what it means to be a vampire. If at the end of the weekend they do not want to become a vampire they are glamoured into forgetting and sent home.

However, this particular weekend, a number of vampires get killed for real and young Daniel Paxton becomes the scapegoat. As it turns out, Daniel’s brother happens to be a vampire hunter and he makes it his mission to save Daniel and enlists his brothers friends to help. One of these friends happens to be a 100 year old vampire woman, with ties to the Paxton family, and romance soon ensues.

This is a short novella that I read in a couple of hours. While I would have liked a bit more build up to the character relationships, it was a fun, entertaining read, with the ending setting it up nicely for a sequel.

This was a gifted copy in exchange for an honest review.

Humans and Vampires live and know about one another, but still have a tenuous relationship.  Vampires receive donated blood through Red Cross rations and most clans yearn to live peacefully among humans.  However, to prevent going extinct the vampires must have willing recruits.  Edith is a one hundred year old vampire belonging to the Heartsong Clan.  This weekend she is running a recruitment event, a live action role playing event of Vampires vs. Humans.  When Vampire Hunters Dan and Darren Paxton sign up for the event, things go off script.  Mr. Heartsong takes the opportunity to use Dan Paxton to set an example for all Hunters.  Edith becomes tangled in Dan and Darren's situation and must make a choice between her clan and the humans that link her to her past.
Hunted is a fast-paced new adult paranormal romance.  I was intrigued by this setting in which humans knew vampires existed and vampires had a very different set of rules than I was used to.  These vampires can go out in the daytime, eat normal food and most importantly, can die after they have changed seven people. I was pulled into the story by Edith's backstory and how she was turned by Mr. Heartsong.  From there, the story alternates between Edith and Darren's points of view. I liked seeing how a vampire and hunter viewed one another.  This was a shorter story and moved quickly, I didn't get a good feel for Darren's or Dan's characters, but the glimpses into their backstory helped.  I knew where Darren and Edith's story was going to go from the moment they met, although I'm not sure how I really feel about their romance yet, especially since things progressed so quickly and under extreme stress.  The story ended rather abruptly and on a huge cliffhanger which makes me want to keep reading just to see what will happen next.

This book was received for free in return for an honest review.

My humble apologies for being late @lovebookstours and @sbiglowwrites I was in an accident and I am still in recovery phase.

I am using this click sent by @lovebookstours

The trica of vampires, angels and human is always caught by my eyes. "Hunted" found me and I found "hunted" because of Kelly and Love Book Tours. At times I thought there should have been a ZING scene between Darren and Edith 🙈, the way it was in "Hotel Transylvania". Anyhow, on the serious note, It really was one good read. The strange disappearance of Danny, sunk me deep down in the book but Darren came to the rescue. Darren Paxton, brother of Danny, started looking for Danny with Edith who was a vampire. Darren, made Edith remember her first love Daniel as he was from Paxton family. In Edith's mind the Paxton family died in a fire. Edith has to protect the Paxton brothers as they would have been her family if Daniel was alive, and she has to keep her adopted daughters safe too. What will happen to them if she goes against the Heartsong clans rules? Rules set by Mr Heartsong to keep the human and vampire families separate. Who will she protect and how?

I loved the mysterious character of Mr Heartsong who turned Edith to save her life and he was the chief of the clan. No one was able to read his mind. Angel and hope were the sweetest yet naughty characters. Edith wished to live side by side with humans. All the characters are nicely built by the writer.

Now, I am anxiously waiting for the Book 2.

Hunted is Dark Fantasy, Vampire Lit, Romantic and Contemporary Fantasy.

I found it to be well written, unique in its story and given beautiful cover art.

In this story, the reader is introduced to a world where vampires are a very big part of reality. They are, in essence, treated as second rate citizens and suffer from centuries of stigmata. With an ever decreasing population, some clans resort to creative ways to recruit new members and Edith's clan is no exception. Her clan is hosting a Vampire Role Playing camp for the weekend. During this time, she and her people hope to recruit new members by showing them how the other side lives. Everything is expected to run smoothly, that is, until two brothers arrive.

There were several elements in this story that I thoroughly enjoyed.

Unique storyline and a reinvention of the vampire mythos are at the very top of that list. The authors were able to breath life into the vampire genre by introducing new concepts such as the death of a vampire after turning 7 people and the reflections of their victims in mirrors. The characters were likable and complex in nature and the plot line was propelled forward by interesting twists and turns. I definitely look forward to continuing with this story in book 2.

I received a gorgeous copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. Honestly, I think it's a well written Dark Fantasy and a unique addition to Vampire Lit.

Thank you to @lovebookstours for sending me this digital copy to read and review!

Wow! Just... Wow, I loved this book! Overall I give it 5⭐s, and am looking forward to book two!

I've read quite a few books that involve vampires and vampire hunters, but this one definitely puts a new spin on it from both sides! I am in love with the idea of weaving vampires into history. In this world, the vampires are a well-known minority population, were involved in both U.S. civil rights movements of the 20th century, and are now treated like second class citizens while hiding from vampire hunters. What an interesting spin on that history!!

Ever since Edith was turned, she's spent her time watching over her lost love's family like a guardian angel. As Dan is put on trial for allegedly killing a vampire during the LARP weekend, Edith and Darren do everything they can to prove his innocence. Along the way, they begin to develop real feelings for each other that neither of them were anticipating.

Hunted was definitely one of those books that I just could NOT put down at the end of the day, and ended up reading well into the morning hours. If you're looking for a good fantasy book to suck you in without warning, this is it! I adored the writing, and it was filled with mystery, a touch of legal drama, romance, and jealous betrayal. Loved every bit of it!

HUNTED (HUNTED series Book 1)
By Sarah Biglow & Molly Zenk
5 out of 5 stars

I loved reading the book HUNTED (HUNTED series Book 1) by Sarah Biglow & Molly Zenk. It is a story that had me hooked from the very beginning. I love the characters of Edith, Dan Paxton, and Darren Paxton. I grew to care about what happens to them with each chapter that I read. The storyline is exciting and will have you wondering what is going to happen next. The author does an amazing job of making both the story and the characters come alive. There are also additional characters that are introduced. They include those that are helpful to Edith and the others as well as those who have a more personal and selfish agenda. The author does a wonderful job of making you believe in vampires as well as setting up the story behind the characters that you read about. Don’t miss out on an amazing story that is entertaining and addictive to read. You won’t want to put this book down until the final page. I highly recommend reading it.

I sincerely love when these two get together and write these amazing and gripping novels that I soak up like my favorite drink on a hot day. HUNTED is the first in a new series from Sarah Biglow and Molly Zenk. These two always create these worlds that carry you away and make you feel as if you are right there with the characters as you read. I will be honest though, vampire books and movies, etc, are not my fav… I know how could I but honestly to me this is a trope that is overplayed usually…. NOT the case here. This felt fresh and adventurous, and most of all it felt as if it could have been real and believable. I was swept up into this world where vampires walk amongst us and we don’t deny it. Unfortunately, for them they still need to protect themselves from being hunted and eradicated. I loved the characters in this and was completely engrossed from the very first chapter until the final few words of the last. I cannot wait to get my hands on the next novel and see where it will take me!

Hunted by Sarah Biglow & Molly Zenk is a paranormal vampire story but not the normal trope. This duo gives us something that is unique and original, exciting and with a fresh twist on the fang gang genre. It is fast paced but as I have come to expect from Sarah and Molly there is definitely nothing lacking in the story. The tale is well plotted and the characters are endearing. There is an air of tension, mystery and thrills as your mind bends to the fantasy world that Sarah and Molly have designed. I certainly can’t wait to read the next book in the series.

Hunted is book #1 in the Hunter series by Sara Biglow and Molly Zenk, this is my first read by these authors. The main characters Edith, is a vampire and Darren, a vampire hunter. It's definitely an intriguing storyline, not your typical paranormal romances you may have come across. From the time she was turned into a vampire, Edith was content with her (after) life. She may not always come eye to eye with her sire, Mr Heartsong's views. Especially, when Mr Heartsong doesn't approve nor like the fact that Edith is desperately trying to hold onto her humanity. Ever since his parents were killed by vampires, Darren promised himself that he would protect his brother Danny, at all costs. Two people, who should be enemies cannot deny the attraction that they have for one another. It's forbidden for vampires to have relationship with humans, yet alone a hunter. The punishment, banishment from your clan. I liked how the plot unfolded, it ends on a cliffhanger. If you are a fan of PNR you should pick up this book. Planning to read the next book Allied very soon.

When Edith was human, she joined the Vampire Human Alliance (VHA). Edith has turned into a Vampire. 100 years later, she is helping her clan to recruit new members at the "vampires vs humans" LARP recruitment event. When Darren discovers that his brother Danny is attending this event, he tags along, chaperoning his brother. However, when there are unexpected vampire murders its pointed to Danny, and now his life is at risk. Danny is innocent; Edith and Darren are in rush to save his life, before it's too late. Edith and Darren come to a mutual understanding; they want the same thing, to save and protect Danny. Of course, Darren is baffled, why would Edith help him? When Edith was human she had a connection to Darren's family. To what extend would Edith resort to? Will she betray her clan? And most importantly, will her life be at risk?

Edith has officially been a vampire for 100 years!✨ She didn’t think she would meet the descendants of her late fiancé, who died before she became a vampire, but they show up at a recruiting event. Edith is in charge of trying to get more people to join the vampire ranks, but she is a peace-loving vamp and ensures people have the choice. So her clan does recruitment weekends, disguised as a vampire LARP event. The younger brother, Dan, is sweet and just wants to learn more about vampires.🩸 His brother Darren, on the other hand, hates vampires and he is a Hunter. Of course, Edith and Darren are drawn to each other, and both have to reconcile who they are with what they want.💕

This was a fast-paced book – I liked how the vampires (at least in Edith’s clan) try to integrate into human life. Also, the idea of doing a LARP game as a recruiting event is pretty funny.🖋 There was an instant attraction between Edith and Darren, but it kind of makes sense in the context of the book. Darren reminds her of her fiancé, who was his great-uncle, so it’s easy to understand the connection. It wasn’t too insta-love though, they have to work through their prejudices and is building throughout the book.📚

This was a quick read, and if you enjoy vampire books, I think you’ll enjoy it! Of course, it ends on a cliffhanger, so hellooooo book 2!📖

✨Thank you to @lovebookstours and @cayellepublishing for a free copy of the ebook and for having me as part of the tour!✨

The main characters in this book are Edith Dorset and her ‘adopted’ children Angel and Hope, and brothers Darren and Daniel Paxton. Edith and her daughters, who she sired and saved from a horrible time during the Khmer Rouge reign of terror in Cambodia, live outside the Clan Institute run by her sire Mr Heartsong. The girls attend a human school and have made friends with other students. They are helping their mother Edith, who they call Mama E, with a recruitment day event, which pretends to be a vampire vs human LARP (live action role play) weekend. When one young man signs up to be a vampire for the weekend roleplay, the name Dan Paxton on the signup sheet, brings back a lot of memories for Edith. It is a hundred years since she was turned into a vampire, after she was found trying to drown herself after the death of her fiancé and love Daniel, during WWI. Daren Paxton is a Vampire Hunter and thinks he is just chaperoning his younger brother Dan to a nerdy roleplay convention, when he finds out he has signed up to the Heartsong Vampire Institute on Tombstone Row, a target for his Hunter buddies.

He follows the leads he picked up at the convention and turns up at the Institute and joins the human team for the roleplay weekend event. Edith had always protested for the rights of vampires, even before she was turned. The VHA (Vampire Human Alliance) brought about a change and the Red Cross started operating ad supplying donated blood to vampires, but that still didn’t stop them being hunted by Hunters. There are some clans that feel they are superior to humans and see them as food and something they can kill, rather than use as blood donors by agreement. Angel and Hope have roped in their friend and fellow student parker who is a vampire, and Caden who is human, to help them and this brings a lot of worry to Edith, as they have revealed their true selves to a human and could put themselves in a dangerous position because of that. They should only do so, when they trust that human with their life!

Dan wanted to go to the event as he is enamoured by Parker and wants to be more than just friends with him, although Parker hasn’t had the courage to come out yet! Never mind that human and vampire relationships are even allowed. It would lead to the vampire being exiled form their clan, which is not an easy life, so is never really known of before. Edith is still stuck in the past with her fiancé’s death not allowing her to have another relationship in the present. She soon starts to feel something beginning that she doesn’t expect and her sire and mentor Mr Heartsong, if definitely not happy for this to happen. It seems he has had more than a wish for more than just a sire relationship with Edith and his actions are soon going to prove how much he wants her to forget her past! Edith and Darren end up having a real discussion about who and what they really are, as Edith tries to keep Darren and his brother Dan close, even if it goes against clan rules. Only problem is that someone starts to kill vampires for real and Dan is soon being targeted as the only suspect.

Darren’s wish to get his brother out of the Vampire Institute safely, has now been made so much more difficult, as well as started to change his thoughts about vampires and his wish to snuff out each and every vampire he meets. The role play weekend continues with vampires playing roles on both the vampire and human sides, hoping to recruit more people who will be interested in being turned into vampires, to bolster their dwindling numbers. There is some very different vampire lore in this story, with a rule of seven, and a very different way of turning a new vampire. But I will leave those for readers to discover. A sudden trial brings danger to those Darren loves and will bring danger to others as well, if they go against their clan sire’s rules. A convoluted tale of mixed bloodlines bringing the past to the present and allowing this to change how two separate groups, vampires and hunters, view each other in a deep manner. Watch out for Mr Heartsong, as he definitely has his own agenda in mind and wants to ensure his clan follows his wishes, not necessarily the rules vampires are supposed to live by! An interesting read and I certainly can’t wait to read the next book in the series as soon as I can. I received an ARC copy of this book from BookSprout and I have freely given my own opinion of the book above.

An interesting read and I certainly can’t wait to read the next book in the series as soon as I can. I received an ARC copy of this book from BookSprout and I have freely given my own opinion of the book above.

This is a tale of vampires and vampire hunters, two sets of people leading very different lives and each others lifelong enemies, but that is just most of the clans, however, the Heartsong Clan wants to change this perspective from one of violence to one of peace and coexistence, that is why they hold “Human vs Vampire” LARP reenactments so that humans can learn a bit about Vampire culture and then maybe chose to become one of them and this weekend is another of these events where humans and vampires mix together for a few days.

This book starts with Edith on her wedding day as she prepares to end her life, she has lost her love and sees nothing else to live for, she just wants to be with him, she is walking into the river with the stones in her pockets until someone calls to her from the bank, this person is Mr Heartsong, a vampire she knows from the VHA (Vampire Human Alliance) and he is trying to glamour her to convince her that Daniel would want her to continue to live and to be happy and also stop her from joining Daniel in death.

100 years to the day she turned, Edith is leading the LARP event with Hope and Angel her two daughters, they are just like any other family, apart from they are vampires and older than they look, as they man the booth where people sign up for the event, a young man, Caden comes to sit and chat with Parker, another vampire and the girls and it turns out he is there to help with the recruitment drive, Edith is initially reluctant to trust the young man, but decides to give him the benefit of the doubt when the girls say that they trust him with their lives, as does Parker. As the day goes on and more people sign up, they have their first “vampire” added to the list, Dan, he is friends with the girls and Caden and it seems that he wants to learn more about the vampire way of life.

Next we meet Darren who is Dan’s brother and only wants to chaperone him to the nerdy convention that his brother is interested in attending, but he feels uncomfortable as soon as he enters the building where he can’t tell the humans and the vampires apart and as a hunter, it is something that he hates. He realises that he has lost Dan in the crowds, but remembers that he spoke about going to meet some friends while there, but getting there that late in the day, Darren is a little worried about him and starts to stress out when he can no longer see him because of their history. Darren has intel that the Heartsong Clan are recruiting at the event and he prays that that isn’t why Dan is here, however, if he is, then it will be a great way to get some inside intel on the Clan while meeting his brothers friends.

This is where Edith and Darren come face to face and meet for the first time and although the insistent banging on her office door is giving her a migraine, she remains polite and as she opens the door, another wave of memories hit her. It is then that he asks to join in the LARP and reluctantly, Edith agrees and gives him a tour of where he will be staying for the weekend, as they do this, Edith explains the rules of the weekend and the game play, as well as what will happen and when. When they see a group with Dan in, Darren takes him to one side and they have an argument about why Dan is there and why he left Darren in the convention and neither of them is happy with the situation, but they both go to the dining room when the bell is sounded for the meal. It is later that night when Darren decides to go and check that Dan is alright that all hell breaks loose as the weekend takes a turn for the worse and this leads to Darrens worst fears, that Dan is in danger and he is realising that Edith is not like any other vampire he has ever met.

Will Dan and Darren be able to escape the convention, or will the vampires show their true natures? Will Edith be able to come to terms with the memories which are flooding back and be honest with herself and Darren and will he be able to be honest with her as they grow closer? The only way to find out is to read along and discover their revelations at the same time they do.

Brilliant tale about the true meaning of love

“Hunted” by Sarah Biglow and Molly Zenk is wonderful story on acceptance and redemption embedded into an exceptionally good-written vampire paranormal fantasy tale. This is already the third series by Sarah Biglow I have read, and the second by Molly Zenk, arguably “Hunted” is a novel but I already heartily hope for a sequel, yes! it is that good. Biglow’s and Zenk’s writing style complement each other to perfection without any apparently breach/discontinuity in the narrative between both, they seem to form a unity that becomes even stronger than both when coming to YA UF.

The story features Edith Dorset, a century old vampire, that has somehow succeeded in retaining, not only her education and upraising forms but some parts of her humanity. In Edith’s world, a slightly adapted version of our own, where Vampires are known to humanity but still forced to blend in due to the danger posed by the Hunters, whose only purpose is to eradicate the vampire race.

Edith meet Mr. Heartsong, a rather seedy vampire, back at the VHA (Vampire Human Alliance) meeting in 1914 and have been part of the Heartsong Clan ever since he turned her in 1918. Edith’s existence has been filled fighting for vampire rights throughout the century, being a good mother to her two adopted daughters and holding to the love of her life, already gone for hundred years. Every year the Clan set a booth at convention allegedly to role-play ‘vampires vs. humans’ with the hidden goal to find willingly candidates to be turn into new vampires. Edith does not really goes on with the process, for once every vampire is only allow to turn nine humans before his ultimately demise and furthermore, she does not really wish her fate on other humans; the only ones she ever turned are her own two daughters, who she saved from a very dark fate on the 1970s. This year, however, the convention bears unexpected consequences, as vampires and hunters come together under the same ceiling, to unearth unexpected connections.

Biglow’s & Zenk’s tale is a very enjoyable paranormal tale that encloses a more serious narrative about fate, consequences, and the power of determination.

Thank you netgalley
I really enjoyed this book. At the start I felt it was a bit flat and I was feeling a bit unsure of how this book would be. But after the initial few chapters the story picked up and I read it in one sitting. I loved the characters, I really liked how the authors actually made some of the vampires still human, that even though they are immortal, they still had their old human life too. Edith and her 2 daughters, I adored. They all valued human lives and in vampire books sometimes you don't always get that. They're not always blood sucking evil monsters. I absolutely adored Darren, I could just picture him as a full blown bad boy, all in leather but with a heart of gold. He went into the vampire clans house hating them, and ended up falling in love with Edith. There chemisty from start to finish, was HOT! I really loved the little mention of gay representation, and I hope this will be brought up more and you see more of this relationship developing.
The best part of this book, is it didn't lose any speed, any plot. I love how it ended not as a happy ending, but instead the beginning of a hunt. I really can't wait for more of this series, and to have more of all the main characters in my life and to dive into there lives more. #netgalley

Hunted (Hunted Series Book 1) by Sarah Biglow and Molly Zenk
4 Stars

I’ve always enjoyed books written by these authors. They know the best way to pull you in and keep you interested. I found this story to be quite ordinary its take on vampires. The world knows of them and the vampires have been trying to integrate since prohibition. They have gained certain rights and are fighting for more. Trying to show the world that they deserve love and life even while hunters chase them down.

Even after one hundred years, Edith still mourns the loss of her love. She’s constantly living in the past until she meets Darren. He makes her want to shed her reservations and live in the moment. Being a hunter, Darren never thought he’d meet a vampire he didn’t want to kill; until Edith. Unfortunately for them both, they are breaking clan laws. The clan leader will do everything in his power to stop them.

This is a story filled with desire, longing and danger. It’s hunters versus humans. Will you choose to be the hunter or the hunted? Another excellent book to add to these authors collection.

This just might be my new favourite vampire series. A novella sized read that's easy to devour in one sitting. The book's cover art is absolutely stunning, it's storyline unique & the characters so flawed, but so good.

An utterly compelling, action packed paranormal romance told in dual POV, one a vampire, the other a vampire hunter who just happens to be human.

It's my first read by these two authors & I'm looking forward to reading more of their fantasy collaborations.

I'm jumping straight into the second book now!

This is the first in the series, some of you might have seen my review for Allied so may have an understanding about the general overview of this series. Yes supernatural and plenty of vampire action.

I loved that this first book in the series is shorter than the others allowing you to take in the right amount of information. You start this read by meeting Edith in 1918 and learn a lot about her character. I continue to love how in a twisted way this continues good meeting evil or evil meeting good which ever way you might interpret it.

This book is more about the plot of the series on where it will take you and how the different teams come together as one. Without giving too much away. There’s a few characters you come across but I know to some that these characters won’t be appreciated straight away but they will further into the series.

The romance built into this is just the perfect amount so don’t worry it’s nothing like the twilight series. The authors do a brilliant job at allowing you to feel emotion from the moment it starts. I love that this book gets you thinking of the paths Edith might take. What if she took a different path. This book constantly leaves you second guessing.

Of course this is left on a cliffhanger. But done in the most wonderful way. These two authors who have collaborated together have made a perfect series.

I got this free book for a book review tour arranged by. Thank you for the digital copy.

How is the relation between Humans and Vampires? Not so good. Those human who kills vampires are called "Hunter" and one of the protagonist is a Hunter and he is Darren Paxton and the protagonist is Edith Dorset who is a vampire. In spite of being a vampire Edith couldn't leave her human life. She behaves like a human and couldn't move on from the love of hee life. Mr.Heartsong changed her and since then she belongs to heartsong clan. Darren and her brother lost their parents for vampires and the hunters saved them. Since then Darren hates vampires and wants to take revenge for the death of his parents. Now vampires hide their identity from the world as humans won't let them live. Once every year , vampires arrange a recruitment process through a game. And in the end they get some new vampires. This year, something changes, Darren comes to the recruitment with his brother and the story changes.
I kind of like the book. This is a short book that's why the stories paced quickly. I liked the story plot but it could have been better in my opinion. I loved the chemistry between Darren and Edith. Edith's character development was the best thing here and there were some relationship which I loved.

I fell in love with this book from the very beginning; it instantly gave me Vampire Diaries vibes. And there's just something so beautiful about books published by Cayelle; the gorgeous covers and the general feel and texture of the book.

The chapters alternate between Edith who is a vampire and Darren who is a Hunter, which made the book super interesting.

Hunted had a bit of everything: drama and romance, the supernatural, LGBTQIA+ representation, and there was even a little bit of spice! (Though I really wish this had been written from Edith's point of view instead as I feel like this was a much more important moment for her).

Everytime I read a book about vampires or watch a show about vampires, they all have different traits. But I feel like the specific characteristics of the vampires in this book made the most sense.

I cannot wait to read Allied, the next in the series, as this book was left on a massive cliffhanger! It was also super short at 190 pages and I want more!

Edith is at a role playing event her clan has put together for new recruits. She meets a young man that he the name she knows from the past. She is questions her clan leader about what he told her. Editha answers the door to find the brother of the young man. Editha become a vampire to make a difference, she finds out some truths that are hard to deal with. Edith is also drawn to the one of the brothers. When vampires start dying and the blame is placed on the wrong person. Edith will have to work with the strangers and hope that no one else loses their lives

There is so much more to the story than the little bit that I wrote, I didn't want to give anything away. This story will grab your attention right from the first page. You will keep reading to see what happens next for these characters. The ending is great, can't wait for the next book.
