The Gift

Rate this book
Kallie’s world was falling apart. She and husband, James, had been trying to conceive for years. But the doctor delivered the results they’d dreaded – James was infertile. Coming to grips with the news was hard; giving up on their dream was harder. IVF with a sperm donor was the only option. But it was a pipe dream—far too expensive to afford.

James has craved his sexy cowboy clients, Austin and Jericho since the moment they called him to their farm to sort out their accounts. When they make him an offer that's too good to refuse, James and Kallie must decide what's truly important to them, because letting go might make all their dreams come true.

The Gift is a short, sexy FMMM romance with a HEA that will leave you wanting more!

About the author

Ann Grech

40 books552 followers
By day Ann Grech lives in the corporate world and can be found sitting behind a desk typing away at reports and papers or lecturing to a room full of students. She graduated with a PhD in 2016 and is now an over-qualified nerd. Glasses, briefcase, high heels and a pencil skirt, she’s got the librarian look nailed too. If only they knew! She swears like a sailor, so that’s got to be a hint. The other one was “the look” from her tattoo artist when she told him that she wanted her kids initials “B” and “J” tattooed on her foot. It took a second to register that it might be a bad idea.
She’s never entirely fit in and loves escaping into a book—whether it’s reading or writing one. But she’s found her tribe now and loves her MM book world family. She dislikes cooking, but loves eating, can’t figure out technology, but is addicted to it, and her guilty pleasure is Byron Bay Cookies. Oh and shoes. And lingerie. And maybe handbags too. Well, if we’re being honest, we’d probably have to add her library too given the state of her credit card every month (what can she say, she’s a bookworm at heart)!
She also publishes her raunchier short stories under her pen name, Olive Hiscock.

providing an honest review after receiving a complementary copy from the author via Bookfunnel.

I rate this one as a good read.

let me start with the book cover what am I looking at? looks like some zombies stuck in a shower or pressed against a window in the rain could the female model look anymore vacant and dead in the face if she was going for sexy she failed big time.

there was much room for improvement and could have been better if the ending was not so rushed I think it would have been a much stronger story if the relationships was written about more and some back ground of the two guys relationship.

I liked that the couple were open about his bisexuality and she was open to letting him express that part of him self. the sex scenes were good but there was room for much more.

I was not sure If the two guy were actually a couple or just had sex? I think it would have been better if they were openly a couple.

not sure why only the doctor knew about the four way relationship in the end. seems sad to have to hide relationships and your family dynamics especially with the baby is the child only going to be able to call them all dad at home and by their names outside the home?

this was a good short story but could have been a great novel.

Hope to read more for this author in the future

Wow...hot, sexy, hits all the good feels. Kellie and James love each other. Have been married 10 years, but are unable to have children. They move out of the city and across country to Amethyst. James is an accountant working for Jericho and Austin at Randall Ranch. While out on the ranch for a weekend getaway, James and Kallie talk about their cowboy fantasies featuring Austin and Jericho, not realizing they were heard. I love how this story ended with them all together, all happily living life on the ranch.

This is the disappointment you get when you don’t realize that the free book you’ve downloaded is a very short novella and the plot idea could have created a wonderful full-length novel. Themes such as difficulties conceiving, bisexuality in a committed marriage and opening that marriage to polyamory have not really been touched in poly books and I’d really appreciate if these kinds of serious topics were covered in them. I just hoped for this story to be longer and I still hope that Ann would rewrite the story into a full-length novel one day.

2.9⭐

Short story with lots of potential. Some parts felt a little rushed, would've liked more character development - but that may be due to page count. Overall, an entertaining quick read with a sweet HEA.

This is good but has much more potential to be expanded. Currently it doesn't have enough time with the married couple or the cowboys, let alone the four together. The jump to the epilogue was left too much out.

I liked the concept for this one more than the execution. The writing style was a bit distracting. In the big payoff mmfm scene, it was hard to track where everyone was. And, yes, it is the nature of a short story, but going from that to 9 months later felt like a let down.

Not straight to the action enough for erotica, not diving into character enough for romance.
