This is the second book of the series and can be read as a standalone. This Boss/Employee romance storyline was an overall ok read for me.
First issue I had was Archimedes Warren's name. When I struggle to pronounce the name of one of the main characters it doesn't start out too well. Once I got past that and started using his nickname things became smoother.
Second, which I will mention I expected, was the complete back and forth with these two. Yes, he is the Boss and she is his assistant, but the way that these two interacted was exhausting after a while. They both had feelings, but he made her feel not good enough and I had issues with him because of that.
Archie is career/business focused and all he has ever wanted is to be CEO of the family enterprise. His father and grandfather have revised the trust since Archie's eldest brother went against the family wishes. Now he has to marry before the first of the year and stay married if he wants to inherit the company. He enlists the help of his very attractive, but off-limits assistant to not only find him a wife but plan the entire wedding.
Blaire Hall has been a good employee at Warren Enterprises. She has newly become the administrative assistant to Archimedes Warren, the handsome, off-limits very eligible bachelor who now needs a wife ASAP. When he asks her to not only help him find his future wife, but also plan the wedding, she emersed herself in the task. She gives him everything he asks for and everything she is wishing for. Along the way her heart starts to get involved and she is struggling with letting him embark on a loveless marriage just to have the company.
This storyline is not unique, but it is interesting and kept my attention. I just felt bad for Blaire and almost was embarrassed for her at times with how Archie treated her. He was not intentionally mean, but his laser focus on the end goal was making him blind to what was in front of him. I was so glad that they eventually got to their HEA, but it was a bit rough getting there in my opinion. Overall ⭐⭐⭐ for me on this one.
