You are not doomed to be trapped by your trauma

Trauma is unresolved pain. It hums in the background of our lives and robs us of the joy, faith, peace, and love we fully deserve.

In their groundbreaking book, Pedram Shojai, O.M.D., New York Times best-selling author of The Urban Monk and The Art of Stopping Time , and Nick Polizzi, author of The Sacred Science , take you on a journey that

   •   a clear understanding of trauma, where it comes from, and how it affects every part of your life
   •   an exploration of modern and ancient therapies and practices for healing
   •   real-life tragedies turning into stories of triumph, hope, and survival

Drawn from the wisdom and insights of the world's top doctors, therapists, and experts, Trauma will show you that no matter what you have endured, how long you have carried it, or how deeply embedded it is, you can be free from pain and suffering. Your road to recovery and whole-body healing is before you, and with it the richer and more profound connections that you seek with yourself and your loved ones.

It was interesting and helped me understand what some of my students are going through with poverty and other things that they have experienced.

This book is absolutely a relief when reflecting on trauma. Definitely recommend to those that may struggle with unresolved trauma. Not only is this book healing there are recommendations to how a person can manage their overall well-being, especially when addressing health care concerns one may be experiencing. I encourage if your healing or helping others through trauma this is a must read.

“You are not doomed to be trapped by your Trauma” This book discussed trauma and the life long affects it can cause if not addressed. Gone are the days off “walk it off,” “You are strong, you will be OK” and “Shell Shock.” The medical community is addressing trauma as a lifelong condition, but treating it through therapy, meditation. medication and exercise can help us decipher the pain and grow. The book is guide to well-being. It divides trauma into “t” and “T”s, depending on the degree of the trauma. “T”s are very difficult, but many “t”s can also be draining. A great tool.

Though there was some helpful data, overall the writing was slop and I would prefer if peeps stayed in their lane.
