When I first picked up this book I was quite skeptical as it was recommended to me by someone who by his words "doesn't read much". When I started reading it however, I found it loaded with selected information. It was as if I had read the words of men who knew everything as passed everything they knew between the pages of this book. It was my guide for my BA thesis and without it I could not be able to even start writing my paper. I believe it is insightful not only because of all the references it presents but also because of the format it is written in. All the excerpts from interviews, all of the screenshots from shorts, etc. really help you understand the point the writers are making. I would recommend it to any student and practitioner who needs a perspective on animation and its many faces. When I started studying the craft I never thought how globally it is used and how it merges into other media until I picked up "Re-Imagining Animation". It is one of the best investments I have done during my university years both in terms of time and money and it has become my guide up to now.
