This is a modified and updated version of a book Ms Pillow published in 2004.
"Forget Me Not," by Michelle M. Pillow was the sweetest paranormal, historical romance that I have read in a long while. Isabel's parents are stifling her, they want her to marry a man that she doesn't care for, they are keeping her and her sister in the country and they believe she needs a tutor (at her age)! She wants nothing to do with her parents' choice for a husband or the tutor they hired. Isabel is also worried about the spirits her sister Jane believes she sees around the manor. She actually gets spooked by a spirit in the woods and falls off her horse, hitting her head. Soon, Isabel meets her new tutor, Mr. Weston - Dougal. Mr. Weston is handsome, but not charming, she sets out to fool him into believing that she is an empty-headed miss. She talks to him of nothing but fashion and the latest gossip. But Mr. Weston is much more than he seems. He believes Isabel can see spirits and he needs to connect with a very special spirit. He needs Isabel to remember her accident, which she seems incapable of doing. The more time they spend together, the more they are drawn to each other. Can spoiled Isabel find love with her lowly tutor? Very sweet paranormal, historical romance that kept this reader guessing. The reader realizes pretty quickly that this is a ghost story, but who are the ghosts? "Forget Me Not" is filled with passionate scenes and tension between Isabel and Dougal. I highly recommend this book to lovers of paranormal and historical romance that also enjoy books with steam.

I am not a real big historical romance fan but I love Michelle M. Pillow and I also like paranormal romance so I thought I would try this one out and I am so glad that I did. The story was a sweet historical romance with a big paranormal and mystery twist to it al well. I got drawn into the story and I really liked the characters, except for Isabel's parents who had her on an extremely tight leash. The book kept me engaged throughout the whole story and had a really well thought out ending. Can't wait to check out more of the author's stories.

The story started out a little slow for me as I prefer a little more interaction between the two main characters right from the start, but once it picked up, I couldn't put the book down. I loved trying to figure out the mystery of what was going to happen next, but I especially loved how everything actually ended.

If you love Regency and paranormal then read this. I'm not giving anything away but there's so many twists and turns that I couldn't put it down until I knew what was happening. Such a phenomenal read!
Heartwarming romantic story! From a time when gentlemen called on ladies and language was romantic. With a bit of mystery and the supernatural thrown in. Great read! I loved the characters and all the little details.
I haven’t read the first version of the book, but reading it, now, with the editing only experience can bring, made me marvel at this beautiful, timeless story, a romance for the ages.
Wow what a classic!! This book was amazing. Full of twists, turns, love, mystery, laughter and tears. This book reminds me of classic like Wuthering Heights and must read for anyone who loves a Bronte book!
I would have normally read this book in a day as i greedily wanted to know what was going on, but i forced myself to put it down and drag it for a few days because i didn't want it to end. It has all the components that make this sort of books the perfect read for me: mystery, suspense, love passion, unexpected twists, sadness, happiness. I sensed and appreciated great literature masterpieces influences to this beautiful work, like "little women", "pride and prejudice", "Jane Eyre", "the portrait of Dorian Gray". Influences that are so very subtle and do not steal anything from this original brilliant work Michelle created. It was a pleasure to read A to Z. The characters were very believable and the story well written, so that everything makes sense exactly when it needs to.
In regards to the Audio version of this book, i must say that Rebecca is a brilliant reader and her voice generally suits historical novels, she has a wide range of tones and her narration timing is impeccable. unfortunately though i didn't think she was the best choice to give life to a 21 years old rebellious girl. Her voice is too mature to represent a young woman. She was brilliant in performing the other roles.

This was my first regency romance book and it was awesome. Isabel has an accident and then can see spirits. She goes on a wild ride to find love and purpose. Absolutely enjoyed this ride and will definitely read more.
This is a really wonderful Regency romance from Michelle M. Pillow. Not the genre I'm accustomed to from this author, but still loved it! It is sweet and spooky, mysterious and edge-of-your-seat suspense..

Forget Me Not kept me intrigued and anxious to know how everything would come together. I tried to guess what the big reveal was and a few times thought I had it right but then things would happen that made me change my mind. In the end I guessed right but not disappointed at that. I enjoyed all of the characters, except the parents for obvious reasons given the time period. The narrator did a good job voicing the characters.
An excellent ghost story with such heart, passion, and pain. Isabel Drake is a woman who is very strong-willed which will cause her to do things that she will come to regret and appreciate by the end of the book. Isabel has a mind of her own and she has decided that she wants to marry a young man in their county and has been inviting him over for dinner but today the Colonel who wants much more than just dinner with her but she is having none of it not knowing that her future is definitely not what she was hoping for and her parents want to much but since she is the eldest she has to marry him as soon as she learns to act like a lady. When she finds out what her parents are up to and why she is very upset and runs out of the house in a tiff and dashes to stables for her horse. She has an accident while riding. It's a long time later when she wakes and finds that everyone has gone from the manner but the tutor her father said he was going to hire was in the library Dougal Weston and he is everything she could possibly want in a man but he is not there for her he is trying to find his daughter who happens to be on the estate and has been looked after for a long, long time. Things look pretty bleak as far as he is concerned but he is expecting Isabel to help him but Isabelle is still not understanding what is really going on and believes her mother is keeping people from visiting her since she has sent her sisters and best friend to London. Still, she doesn't realize that she is driving her mother batty with her comings and goings. Neither really understands what is going on. Finally, things start to happen when Isabel sees the little girl and tries to talk to her so she can help her. Jane and Dougal find they like each other but he cannot have anything with his student. Jane helps Isabel figure out what happened. A suspense mystery, drama, and love. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

From the rich descriptions of the characters & the remote estate, to the family row & subsequent rage-fueled horseback escape, ending with Isabel's head injury, chapter 1 kicked this story off well. Isabel begins to see ghosts, meets her new tutor, starts to investigate the estate's mysterious inhabitants, and discovers a creepy nightly mist, which leads to plenty of twists & turns, with a Sixth-Sense feel. I was thoroughly invested in it, and was kept guessing all the way until the end, which I enjoy, because I don't want to see the reveal coming! Throughout all of this, Isabel's forbidden relationship with her tutor heats up & culminates in some sexy time, not explicit. By the epilogue, I had the warm fuzzies, and no book hangover, for it is a stand-alone and wrapped up well. This was a wonderful read!
I've recently discovered Ms. Pillow, & have read 5 of her different genres now... and recieved this one in exchange for an honest review, which did not factor in my opinion.

Another winner from Ms. Pillow, this was a great gothic novel. The characters were great and I enjoyed the storyline.. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Obey your parents. If you don't strange things can happen. Isobel learned the hard way or you decide. When she refuses to marry their chosen suitor, they order her to become a proper lady and hire a tutor. But after he, Mr. Weston, arrives strange things begin. Ghosts? Dead bodies. Evil mists? There is plenty of action, lots of questions, mysteries, and a heck of a story. This is a historical, ghost story, romance, and mystery. Wow, all packed in a great full length read by one of the best. Don't miss it. I voluntarily reviewed this advanced reader copy and I have not been compensated in any way.
I heard this described as “Jane Austin meets Sixth Sense” and that is a very apt description! Throughout the story, you are never sure exactly what is going on and there is more than one twist. A little different from the stories I usually read by Ms. Pillow but I loved it! The premise of the story is a rebellious young lady (Isabel) who is pulled into an intriguing situation with several characters she believes to be alive but may be the fabled ghosts said to haunt the estate. This was an awesome read, it was gripping and surprising and the characters were unforgettable. **I voluntarily chose to review a copy of this book and I have not been compensated in any way**
This book had my head spinning - an atmospheric Gothic romance with elements of paranormal and mystery and a Jane Austen feel to it. I couldn’t stop thinking about the book when I put it down in between reads and found myself wondering about Dougal and Isabel, trying to figure out what was happening to them. There were plenty of twists and turns that kept me guessing right up until the very end. I went through so many emotions reading this book and have to say that I absolutely loved it! A must read!!
Paranormal gothic romance... Say what? I have to admit what I envisioned this meant in my mind was gladly so much better! So refreshing to get a storyline that was fresh and we'll conceived. I've read other genres from this author and enjoy her style, and while she says this was an edited version of her original tale, I have to say I loved this. Think English historical romance mixed with ghosts- and it's still better than whatever just ran through your head 😉. My only regret is when I reread it I won't enjoy the pleasant surprise of new discovery with the story!
This book was a little different and hard for me to leave a review without giving to much away..so this will be a little short!
Isabel has been seeing a little girl around the house and grounds that's a ghost but she doesn't know why she is seeing a ghost all of a sudden. When Isabel has a fight with her parents they hire a tutor to teach her to be proper for her soon to be husband but things aren't what they should be!
Isabel went on a ride and when she came back she was different. This book is full of surprises, well written, it has great characters, it is a different read than I usually read and I didn’t know if I would like it but I really did. It was suspenseful, sometimes I was on the edge of my seat. I was rooting for Isabel. It’s a great book. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book and gave my honest opinion.
This story kept me turning pages, I was not putting it down until I was finished reading it. I would say keep the Kleenex Handy. Isabel Drake and Dougal Weston's story of suspense, drama, danger, ghosts, and an eternal love. A beautiful story, that I recommend. I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
A beautiful story! I have loved all of Michelle’s work so far and this book didn’t disappoint. Full of intrigue and amazing characters; I found it hard to put down once I’d started it. I highly recommend reading it, even if it’s not what you’d read. Give it a go and you won’t regret it!!!!
Forget Me Not by Michelle M. Pillow Beautiful paranormal historical romance. Well written with intrigue, romance, secrets and ghosts. I loved the characters, this was such a great read and I thoroughly enjoyed it from start to end!!
Michelle is one of my favorite writers and I was curious to see what her first writings were like. Her books are quite addictive and I found this story entertaining and captivating, not to mention that ghosts are my hook so I was a goner before the first chapter was finished. Recommended
