Can true love find a way?

The Amish Christmas Secret by Vannetta Chapman

Becca Schwartz’s curiosity is going to be a problem. When Amish secret millionaire Daniel Glick moves to Shipshewana for seclusion, he doesn’t expect his pretty new neighbor to ask so many questions. Or to be so generous, despite her family’s poverty. As Daniel falls for Becca, his secret looms between them. This Christmas, can he finally give her the truth…and his heart?

The Amish Widow’s Christmas Hope by Carrie Lighte

After inheriting her uncle’s house, single mother Fern Glick returns to Serenity Ridge with the intention to sell and leave town quickly. But her reluctance to settle so close to former love Walker Huyard—the man who broke her heart—begins to falter as their children forge a bond. With Christmas approaching, spending the holiday together might just be enough to reignite the love they once shared.

The two stories are different and by different authors. I enjoyed them both very much!
Book 1. The Amish Christmas Secret by Vannetta Chapman
This is a sweet Amish romance written by one of my favorite Amish authors. I loved the two strong personalities that appear in both Daniel and Becca as they get to know each in their own way. Daniel is holding back, while Becca is open and caring. I even loved the appearances of "Cola".

I got a kick out of Becca's "projects" and her sweet personality. The characters were such that you could really enjoy them as they interacted with one another. I love how the community was caring and helpful. That is something special that would be great asset to all communities coming together.

This was a very enjoyable book and a definite feel-good story, which is a great thing for Christmas and this year of 2020!

Book 2. The Amish Widow's Christmas Hope

This is another sweet story of a widow who inherits an uncle's house and in the town of a former sweetheart, Walker. Its a story that pulls the heartstrings. You will have a hard time putting the book down and how will things proceed with Walker? This is a story of forgiveness and hope. A very enjoyable read!

I received a complimentary copy of this book. All thoughts are my own.

What a great pairing these two Amish Christmas stories make! I had already read The Amish Christmas Secret by Vannetta Chapman and I was reminded what a unique story it was. Becca and Daniel initially seemed like opposites, however, they both had very caring hearts. Their monetary situations were vastly different, yet money concerns weighed on both of them for opposite reasons. Becca and Daniel both grew in this story and learned what was most important. Daniel found a true home where he fit with both Becca and her family.

In The Amish Widow’s Christmas Hope by Carrie Lighte, Fern and Walker, once very much in love, must face the hurt of broken promises as they find themselves often working together with their children around a house that they have both inherited. I felt so sorry for Fern, knowing that Walker had broken her heart by marrying her cousin. Yet, Walker had also experienced his own share of pain. It was sweet to see how much their children loved each other and to watch as Walker and Fern tried to be good parents without allowing themselves to be hurt again.

This is a really nice collection of two Amish Christmas books in one convenient binding!

THE AMISH CHRISTMAS SECRET by Vannetta Chapman is the sixth book in the Indiana Amish Brides series. It’s the delightful, heart-warming and often comical story of Becca Schwartz, an Amish woman still living with her parents on their farm, and Daniel Glick, who recently purchased the run down farm on the adjacent property.

When Becca and Daniel’s paths keep bringing them together, will an illness, a tragic fire and time together have them seeing the good in the other instead of what sets them off? Can Daniel learn the value of family, through the example of the Schwartz’ and see the type family he always wished his had been? By learning to accept help, can he learn the true meaning of community where other expect nothing in return for their help other than the hope you will pay it forward when there’s a need? Can Becca learns to accept Daniel as a neighbor, fellow church member and not to second guess his every action while understand why he keep his past and his riches a secret? Will she finally learn that her family may be financially poor, but they are rich in so many other ways?

THE AMISH CHRISTMAS SECRET is a fabulous well-written Christmas story that Vannetta Chapman. It’s a story of hope, curiosity, compassion, unselfishness, helping someone just because it’s the right thing to do, finding out what you have been searching for might already be what you have, sacrifices made in the name of love aren’t really sacrifices at all, finding out you can’t run from your past because it is part of you and true love. It’s woven with a wonderful thread of faith that can be applied to one’s life the whole year through. It speaks volumes about how the best presents don’t come in a box or wrapped up with a bow, they aren’t bought from a store or found under a tree. They are the blessings of family, community and faith. You are bound to fall in love with Becca and Daniel just like I did. How wonderful it would be to have someone like the Schwartz as neighbors. Loved this story from the first page to the last. This is the type of story that I can see myself reading every holiday season just for the reminder. Definitely gets a FIVE STAR rating!

THE AMISH WIDOW’S CHRISTMAS HOPE by Carrie Lighte

THE AMISH WIDOW’S CHRISTMAS HOPE by Carrie Lighte is the great story of Fern Glick and Walker Huyard as their paths once again cross in Serenity Ridge after the death of Roman, Fern’s uncle and Walker’s father-in-law.

Fern, a young widow with two young children was hoped this inheritance could help her financially. She would love nothing more than to provide her children with a home of their own and the life she never had. Neither dreamed that they would inherit the home jointly. She could live it in or sell it and split the profits with Walker. She decides to sell.

To honoring Jordan, his Englisch friend, who sacrificed his life to save his, he decides to provide for the woman Jordan loved, to protect her honor and be a father to their unborn child. He never meant to hurt Fern, but felt honor bond not to explain either. Gloria might have only been a friend – married in name only, but Walker is a father to June and loved her from day one – before and after Gloria’s death.

Can Fern’s living in and Walker working on repairing the home bring back old feelings? Can time, understanding and being truthful begin to mend broken hearts? Can Fern see herself living in her uncle’s home permanently? Is home really where your heart is? Will true love always find a way? Are delays just a way of time allowing the future to unfold?

THE AMISH WIDOW’S CHRISTMAS HOPE is a fabulous story of Christmas wishes, childhood dreams, forgiveness, hope, unselfish sacrifices, and undying love. There’s a lovely faith thread throughout the whole story. One you start reading the first page, you will be turning pages to follow the story of Fern and Walker with a great desire to see an innocent child’s Christmas wishes answered. It gets my FIVE STARS!

One of my favorite authors, Vannetta Chapman, has a double delight in reading with Carrie Lighte. And it's all about the Amish and Christmas! A win-win!
In the Amish Christmas Secret, Becca Schwartz is a question asking neighbor much to Daniel Glick's dismay. So many questions he doesn't want to answer. And Becca is more than curious why Daniel is so secretive.

This is a delightful full of romance between two very different people.

Then in The Amish Widow's Christmas Hope a single mom returns to the house she inherits and to the town she left.

As her children begin friendships with her old love flame's children it makes it more difficult to leave the place where she grew up.

A lot of fun and frolicking in this read.

Two Amish stories that are completely different but so compelling in the love the exude for others and for Christmas.

The Amish Christmas Secret and The Amish Widow’s Christmas Hope
Vannetta Chapman and Carrie Lighte
The Amish Christmas Secret By Vannetta Chapman
This is a sweet and wonderful Amish story by one of my favorite authors. Daniel and Becca’s story. Daniel has a secret he is not opening up about. Becca is Daniel’s neighbor and will her curiosity get the best of her? I love watching these two get to know each other.
The Amish Widow’s Christmas Hope By Carrie Lighte
This is another sweet story. I have not read anything by this author, but really enjoyed this story very much. A story about a widow who inherited her uncles house and plans on selling it. There is Walker, a man who broke her heart. What will she do? Another wonderful Christmas story.
I was given a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

This two in one book is a great matching of delightful Christmas stories penned in each author’s style.

The Amish Christmas Secret by one of my favorite authors, Vannetta Chapman, brought Daniel Glick being neighbor to Becca Schwartz and her family. The two are opposites but each had their unique qualities and flaws. I enjoyed how Chapman developed the characters and the beautiful ending for this story. An added plus was the humor, curiosity, secrets and discovering exactly how God planted each one to be content with their surroundings, especially at Christmas with the true meaning of God’s love.

The Amish Widow’s Christmas Hope, by Carrie Lighte, brought Fern Glick and her children back to her home town. Unexpectedly, the inheritance of her uncle’s house brought some undue anxiety and didn’t fit the plan she had when Walker Huyard was involved. How will Fern and Walker solve their issues when their children are enjoying playing together? Will they be able to set aside differences to make this the best Christmas yet?

I highly recommend this two in one book to fans of Amish Christmas fiction. Readers will laugh, cry and gain a new insight that overcoming difficulties is possible with forgiveness, faith, and hope.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from one of the authors without any obligation to write a positive review. I have expressed my own opinion.

These two books are previously published books, so please be aware of that before you purchase them. I had already read and reviewed the book by Vannetta Chapman, but I had not read the one by Carrie Lighte. I also loved Carrie’s book, and I’m glad that I had the opportunity to read it.

Written by two very talented authors, these stories completely touched my heart. Both books are very well written. The characters in each book face challenges in which the solutions aren’t clear and the way forward seems almost impossible. What I loved best about both books is the theme of faith, hope, and love that’s in each storyline. Buying both of these wonderful stories in one volume is quite a bargain. I’m glad to have this one on my shelf to read during Christmas seasons in the future.

If you’ve never read books by either Vannetta Chapman or Carrie Lighte, this book is a good introduction to their work. As with most Love Inspired books, I wish the stories were longer, but both of these authors made their stories seem complete without rushing the endings.

I have already reviewed Chapman's story under a separate publication; it's included below. Here are my thoughts on the equally engaging tale from Carrie Lighte. Thanks to Harlequin Love Inspired and the authors for a complimentary copy of this book. I was not required to post a review.

This story was as predictably sweet as a plate of Christmas cookies...but Lighte's recipe also had some unexpected ingredients. The story takes place in Maine - not your usual Amish settlement. The church district had several very different "rules" in their ordnung, like married men wearing mustaches, and people worshiping by families rather than gender. But the common themes of gelassenheit and tradition play out strongly in this tale. Fern and Walker were courting when providence separated them for a short time that nearly turned into forever. Each married someone else for noble reasons, but without truly seeking the will of God, and thus broke each other's heart. When an unexpected inheritance brings them together, it takes the prayers of a child and some Christmas snow to peel back the years and renew their love for each other. I loved the gentleness of this story, and the honesty that opened the door to reconciliation and hope. And nothing is better than a happy ending on Christmas Day! This is the second book I've read by Carrie Lighte, and I have to say say she has a deft touch with words. I can't wait to read more of her layered and sensitive Amish novels.

(Vannetta Chapman has done it again - given her readers another delicious read that's more than just an engaging Amish romance. My favorite quote is good advice that I've had to relearn recently: "Enjoy today. We're only able to experience each day once, and it'll pass in the blink of an eye." Becca and Daniel were headed full-steam in the opposite directions when they first met as new neighbors. She chafed at the poverty of her parents' large family; he resented the superficiality of life spoiled by easy riches. Each helped the other face an unexpected trial that taught them to value life as God has ordained it. They learned to live life simply, generously, gratefully....and it doesn't get any better than that. I finished this book with a sigh of contentment, and I bet you will, too. 5 stars all the way.)
