As a backend developer, I have been "collecting" knowledge about Linux throughout all my professional career, just finding the way to do this or that according to the circumstances.
I started this book with the hope of putting in order my ideas, and I can say that I accomplished the mission.
During the first chapters I had the impression that the content could be too basic, but the topics add complexity as the book progresses. Also, I can say that even in the first chapters I ended up every section with at least something interesting learned.

The book is needed only for those, (1) who are looking to manage Linux using terminal emulators (2) who want to enter into the world of Linux based system/server management (3) who are trying for recognize Linux certifications. However, this book was quite enjoyable for the layman, due to its simplicity in explanations along with ergonomic design (of the book).

A good read but ...

It was a good read and I learned quite a few things but it lost one star because of the bleed over of the bold font. That makes me wonder if the book was proofread or just spell checked.

I picked up this book as main companion on my DevOps and Cloud journey. I needed a reliable companion that would allow me to dive into the Linux world, since the Linux is the one of the cornerstones upon which the DevOps and Cloud were built.
I read its electronic version available on PacktPub web page;
as a reader with no prior technical background I have to say that the author kept his promise making the Linux world easy to digest and understand even for a person with no technical background, as me (accountant/auditor). I enjoyed the book and now I look forward for the DevOps and Cloud challenges. What I would like to additionally highlight is that the author could balance the accessibility of the content with the gradually increased complexity of the tackled subjects. Also, I appreciate the subtle dose of humor available in the book.
Fantastic read! 5 stars!

I kindly recommend it for any person aiming to enter the reality of open source software, and particularly Linux OS.
