TENSION, RACISM AND IS THERE A WAY OUT?

I received this book for free and am giving my honest and voluntary review

Caroline and the boys are back in book two of three. The heat is on. Bud is the mayor of Old Town and Caroline is running for Congress. She happens to be running against Jesse Clark, a racist and the only person Bud has ever hated. Jesse is trying to get Caroline to sleep with him amidst the crises of a cold-blooded murder by Chase’s brother, Zachariah, a racist, the threatened leaking of Caroline’s relationship with the boys and racist attacks on Caroline’s supporters and the protestors seeking justice for the murder.

Things take a twist as Bud does things that upset everyone, even though his intentions are good. Jesse professes his love for Caroline and the fact that he has black children, a second family.

It looks like the quad will break up as everyone will have to find a new job, except Bud. Can Caroline survive without the three men that she loves.

better

This is much better than the first book and I enjoyed it even more. There were so many twists and turns and I was surprised more than a few times. There were still a few typos here and there but overall the writing is much improved. It’s a good story. I think we got to know the characters a lot better in this book and they’re all very likable. I have some reservations about the female lead’s family goals and how that will play out with her career ambitions, so I’m looking forward to seeing how the series ends.

Love their story

Okay curiosity made me pick up the first book. But after reading it the need to know how the characters lives played out in this small town had me reading this book and I am not disappointed!! In fact I am looking forward to the rest of their story!! How does a child work in this dynamic? Where will they go from here. Has Jesse really let go of his wish to join the fold. Please tell me there is a book 3 coming.

Loved it

This book was as great as the first, if not better. Loved that all 4 of them continued to fight for their love and overcame all obstacles.

This was a cute follow-up to the first boom. The back and forth between Caroline and Jessie was interesting and I fully expected his love for her to be infatuation and not real love. Oh - and the ending was predictable, but super cute at the same time!
