A military ambush ripped them apart.
An abduction will prove they’re more than friends.

Assigned to recover stolen weapon schematics for her latest client, Search and Rescue operative Emerson Blake has located her target. Only to discover the man on the other end of her rifle is the best friend she buried six months ago. Confronted by the fallout of their last mission, she’ll do whatever it takes to help him recover the weapon’s creator: his sister.

The work Heber Landry has been recruited to carry out for the Special Investigations Office will only put the people he cares about in the crosshairs. He’s not willing to lose Emerson again, but with his sister as the latest casualty, he must leverage the weapons research to lure the abductor into the open. Even if it means losing the woman he’s always loved.

The stakes have never been higher. Because if they fail, everything they’ve uncovered about the ambush, the abduction, and each other will destroy them both.

This was a good novella, lot of action to keep us on edge while we follow Heber and Emmerson 's reunion. They both thought the other dead but as soon as situation requires it they can act together in perfect symbosis... like they never spent a day apart that's show more that trust between them.

I really loved it, the story was good so it was a good read short but not too short as we did not feel as it was missing anything but i do think it would be better read in order even if it's a perfect stand alone.

I received a complimentary copy of this book and I am voluntarily reviewing it.

This is a short read but boy does it pack a punch! The intrigue starts right from the beginning. The mystery just kept me glued to my hot little e-reader. The author sure does a great job of throwing me for a loop. I would not have guessed the surprise that she threw in.

Heber Landry and Emerson Blake were childhood friends. They both joined the Air Force together. Six months ago though Emerson ended her time in the military when her team was destroyed on a bridge. She buried her best friend and joined Blackhawk Security. Her latest assignment, recover stolen data that is vital. To her amazement, the thief of the intel, none other than her dead BFF, Heber.

I loved the dual POV format. Getting that glimpse of the characters' thoughts really help me to connect to them and humanizing them in the process. There were a couple of times that I teared up. This author does a great job of bringing out the emotions.

There was a fade out scene but nothing that should offend anyone.

Search And Destroy is a romantic suspense by Nichole Severn that will keep your hands glued to your e-reader. This is a fairly quick read, perfect for those with limited reading time. Ms. Severn has given us a well-written book filled with lovable wounded warriors. Emmerson is sent to retrieve stolen information. She stops her target with a shot to the leg, only to find when she catches him, a ghost. Heber knew she was out there as soon as the bullet hit him. Her shock at finding him alive after attending his funeral made him feel guilt but he still had to find his sister. Emmerson and Heber's story is loaded with drama, humor, spice, action and suspense. I enjoyed this book from cover to cover and look forward to my next book by Nichole Severn. Search And Destroy is book 5 of the Search and Rescue Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book that I received from Bookfunnel. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Search and Destroy
Blackhawk Security Search and Rescue

“They’d been best friends nearly all their lives.”
Emerson left the Air Force when her team was ambushed as her best friend killed. Or so she was told, so she believed. Heber turned up at the wrong end of her Blackhawk security operation.
They both have to fight to survive this operation. Action and gun fights till the very end of this quick romantic suspense read.
I received an arc of this novella. This is part of the Blackhawk Security series but has new characters and can be read as a stand-alone novella with hea.

Emerson and Heber’s story starts with gunfire and doesn’t stop. We are right in the middle of her mission and the action just keeps going. Friends since childhood these best friends have done everything together until an op went wrong. Severn delivers thrilling action scenes with tactical accuracy, I assume took research and practice. While characters run for their lives, during a job, readers get a look at their history. This was another suspenseful adventure in the Blackhawk series, each book stands alone. I’ve provided my voluntary review after reading an early copy.

Four and a half stars

Search and Destroy is the fifth in Nichole Severn’s Blackhawk Security: Search and Rescue series. Emerson Blake and Heber Landry have been BFFs forever, going into the Air Force together until an attack devastated their unit and led them both to believe the other dead.

Nichole Severn’s story combines a page-turning plot with more tender emotions, and keeps the adrenaline racing. Emerson and Heber rediscover what it is to be a team and fight to have the chance to stay together, whether dodging bullets or something more benign. What a read!

Emerson and Heber had been friends since childhood and done everything together even going into the military together. When a mission goes wrong Emerson buries her best friend and goes to work for Blackhawk Security. She has been given a mission to get back some stolen weapon's schematics. But Heber turns up on her mission. Nichole has given us a book filled with deceit, danger, that's action filled and has plenty of suspense. And a ending that will surprise you.

My favorite

I enjoyed all the novellas in this series, but this definitely took the top spot for me. The set up of the story, the history between Emerson and Heber, and the HEA was great. The story kept me on the edge of my seat.

If you like plenty of action in your stories, then you'll enjoy this one.
The action starts immediately and doesn't stop.
As usual with Nichole Severn's H/h, they get shot and beaten but still manage to fulfil their missions.
Make sure you have plenty of time to read before you start this book, as you won't want to put it down until you finish.
This is a fast action novella, with a friends to lovers theme. As the H/h keep getting shot, they don't get the time for the actual, physical loving !
An enjoyable read.

This was another suspenseful standalone adventure in the Blackhawk series. With bullets flying and on the run for lives, Heber and Emerson's story is front and center.

Thank you, Ms. Severn, for another edge of the seat read.

I'm sorry to see the end of this series, but look forward to seeing what is coming next from Nichole Severn.
