Danger abounds in the dark of night. Will Johnathan and Lucy find love?
In a small town of bottle blondes and sweater vests, Lucy has never quite fit in, her gothic wardrobe marking her the black sheep amongst her conservative neighbors. Stuck in a seemingly endless engagement to her high school sweetheart, spending her days pulling double shifts at work, and fighting a losing battle with the tuition for her night classes at the local community college, she finds herself desperate for something more in life.
After a scheduling mix up lands her in the wrong class, she finds herself face to face with the unusual and seductive professor Johnathan Wright. Professor Wright is mysterious and sexy and for some reason Lucy finds herself drawn to him. After a date, and then another he begins to guide her into a strange new world of bloodsucking creatures of the night, power exchange, a journey into self-discovery and sexual awakening.
Before she can decide if John is the more she’s been looking for, a nefarious villain returns from his past and reveals not everything is how it seems, leaving Lucy caught in the middle of their centuries old feud. If she is to survive the dark night she’s been plunged into and the ancient threat at her doorstep, she must learn to access the true strength that lies within submission, within her.

As a newbie to most things vampirish, wow, did I find the perfect story to sink my teeth into. Actually, Moonlit Surrender sunk its teeth into me.
Far from the cities where vampires often roam, one is hiding in plain sight in a small college town. After Lucy, a student heading adrift toward marriage, meets Professor Johnathan Wright, she’s “struck with an odd craving still twisting her stomach, like a song with lyrics long forgotten.” It’s with him that she finds: “Calm. Peace. Where I belong. Conquered. Purpose.”
Telling good stories is one thing, but telling them well is another, and Kitty Wilder does that. This carefully crafted story is very well written and full of exiting action and wonderful imagery. Recurring themes of moonlight and surrender give this book an intoxicating and dreamlike atmosphere.
But make no mistake, Moonlit Surrender has fangs. It carries a heavy erotic charge, mostly through Lucy and John’s Daddy Dom relationship. It’s rare that I read multiple pages without blinking, but that literally happened several times!
One doesn’t need to be a follower of vampire genres to enjoy this book. It’s both ancient and contemporary, and very accessible. Among the many fiery and sharp-edged scenes, I hope readers don’t miss Wilder’s charm and subtle humor throughout (“He’s a f***ing vampire. There’s no future here”). I look forward to surrendering to Wilder’s next book!
This read was a beautiful glimpse into the world of immortal claim, scorching passion, and delicious discipline. But the rewards are guaranteed to curl your toes! A seductive introduction to rules you’ll find yourself eager to break once you step inside Professor John Wright’s classroom.
His velvet smooth voice is nothing compared to the tantamount promise of sexual pleasure set deep in his gaze. But if his decades of living and past lives have taught him anything, it was how to bring a woman to her knees with a sweet breathy “Yes, sir,” on her tongue.
While Professor Wright may seem as though he walked off a Romance Novel as his good looks takes many by surprise, he expects nothing more then a dedicated student during his teachings. In HIS class, he expects his students to embrace his lessons in philosophy and to learn the way of humanity or he’ll fail them for the year.
And if there is anything he doesn’t like, it’s a sassy witty-minded student, missing assignments, and sleeping in class.
That was, until Lucy Beckett stumbled into his class.
Only then does the real lessons begin, where punishment and seduction are soon to follow! I highly recommend this read to anyone who indulges into the sweet life force of paranormal romance.
3.5 stars Growing fangs doesn't make you special - It's who you are inside
POV: single HUMOR: some F BOMBS: yes CLIFFHANGER: no NEW AUTHOR FOR ME: yes
Starts off with lots of f bombs (she was upset), and a jaw-drop that I didn't expect so early on. Patience is required in the beginning because it will feel like you started reading from the middle of the book. Don't worry, the second chapter will begin filling in the blanks.
If you can get passed the ongoing cheating, you'll find a romance story between Lucy (student/mortal) and Johnathan (professor/master/daddy) filled with suspense, violence, doubt, betrayal, monsters, an old castle, a captive, an offer of being an immortal queen, lots of steamy (some rough) scenes, a jealous competitor, bdsm themes, and trust.
Would've liked more for the ending; perhaps an epilogue - but it just kind of concludes.
Was surprised with the many taboo tropes in this story (but they seemed to work): professor / student, older man / younger woman, engaged female / single male, and immortal / mortal.

Lucy is taking evening classes at the college and accidentally goes into the wrong classroom. She finds Professor John Wright and the two click from there on. Their romance skyrockets and he slowly shows her his secret of being a vampire. The characters are terrific and well detailed. The emotions and feelings are intense. Suspense comes as a powerful albino vampire from his past takes over and subdues Lucy and puts John is silver shackles. Lucy and John are strong in their desire for just each other and it is what gets them through their situations. With some help from another group, they are able to escape and forge a new life. Loved the action and mythology of the story. The way John brought Lucy into his world was tender and loving, something she never had before in her life. The ending was great and could easily bring another book. Can not wait to read another story from this author. Very well done.

This book by Kitty Wilder was a super combination of paranormal vampire activity along with many many detailed descriptions of heated sex acts between Johnathon and Lucy. John, the vampire and her college professor, while trying to stay off the radar of vampire hunters as well as his own maker, can't help but see how special Lucy is and begins a relationship with her. Lucy has always wanted more in her life, even though she doesn't know what that more is exactly, and John provides that more and much more for her. Did I mention that there were many many sex acts between them, oh yes there are, and they are described beautifully for the reader to devour and savor. There are also elements of BDSM in their relationship in that she obeys his commands at all costs and without hesitation as she finds out this is part of the more she has been seeking in her life without knowing it. This is a somewhat late voluntary review of an Advanced Reader Copy of this book from Booksprout for Blushing Books.
Moonlit Surrender was difficult to get into for me and I almost decided to stop reading it. The first portion of it was too focused on very descriptive sex, which is not a problem unless it it the only thing of interest happening. The author didn't do a good job of defining the major characters or creating interesting personas for them. It wasn't until the latter part of the story where there was any action to hold my interest. Once this part began, there was quite a bit to hold my interest and the sexual aspects became secondary to the story, unlike the beginning where it was the only story. Overall I'm glad I finished the book. It was nice to find a book by a new author that wasn't full of misspelled words and grammatical errors.

To be honest, the first chapter totally confused me as I wasn’t sure if I was missing a prologue or if I even had the right book. I had to go read the synopsis again to double0check that I had the correct novel. However, once I started chapter 2, it started making more sense as it progressed much more naturally. The book was steamy hot,and the chemistry between John and Lucy was explosive. The only thing that threw me off was that there is cheating involved, as I assumed she had broken things off with her finance (not sure why) so if you don’t like cheating, this book isn’t for you. Otherwise the book was entertaining and enjoyable to read.

Lucy has just found out that vampires are real, and that the one she is seeing is rather a Dom in the bedroom. The world of sex that John introduces Lucy to is new and exciting. We also learn Lucy has another man in her life, her fiancé Ben, who she has grown apart from and become rather bored with in the bedroom. The story starts out with Lucy and John (her college professor) in a sexual relationship and then back tracks to see how they ended up that way, because there is a deeper connection than just sex. Soon Lucy learns that a vampire from John's past is out for revenge that he intends to take out on Lucy. Let me tell you, Wilder leaves little to the imagination when it comes to the sex scenes which are long, detailed, and hot.
I really enjoyed reading this book, it wasn't the typical vampire story it had a good story line, some cliche, relatable characters, and enough to hold your attention. Lucy Beckett struggling to find her path in life torn between being a student, the dutiful fiance, working at a coffee shop and trying to be happy. Stumbles into the wrong class and meets the man who changes her life in unexpected ways. Enter Jonathan Wright a philosophy professor with dark secrets who takes as much interest in Lucy as she does him. Read this book and find what you've been looking for.

Lucy was a college student/barista thy had been engaged to her fiancé for years but she want and needed more than what he expected of her in their relationship. John was a philosophy professor who only taught night classes because he was a vampire. When Lucy accidentally ended up in John’s class they both felt a pull to each other that led them down a very interesting, exciting, dangerous, intriguing, journey that had a bit fun, betrayal and a tad of BDSM thrown in. Fun read

This is the story of Lucy who is engaged but not really happy, she going to college at nigth and tryin to pay her way. Something is missing. One day a class scheduling mix up puts her in Professor Wright's class. They had this attraction from the start. He is not your average Professor. When someone from his past comes to town things take a turn. This is steamy and has the paranormal element to it. This is just a great story with great and interesting characters. This is a great story.

—>>> An unconventional Lucy Beckett feels shoehorned into a conventional life, something she is not certain she wants any longer with her fiancé Ben. Attending the wrong class on the first day of lectures brings her to the attention of Professor John Wright, someone she begins having wicked fantasies about. But when they turn real, along with some shocking news about him, how will she deal with her real life frustrations and her fantasy-filled evenings spent exploring her desires under John’s command?

As a first read by this author, I was pulled into this story very quickly. It was a recipe for heat from the start as John the dominant teacher and Lucy the needful student kept me turning pages in this well written vampire romance! I loved their chemistry and taunting banter. The storyline was dark and erotic which held my attention straight through to the end and I enjoyed every minute of it. I definitely recommend this book!
I really enjoyed this vampire story it was different from others I have read. Jonathan was perfect for Lucy the only thing I did not like was how Lucy cheated on her finance rather than ending that relationship.Looking forward to future books by Kitty Wilder.
This is a paranormal romance. In a town of similarity Lucy is very different. Will she find who she really is? The story has danger, action, suspense and mystery.

I enjoyed this one. Tho don't necessarily agree with everything. But it was an entertaining read. I received a free copy of the book. And am voluntarily leaving my honest opinion.
This could contain spoilers but I'll try not to tell too much. This book... This book isn't for everybody. The female main character, Lucy, cheats on her fiance. I couldn't figure out what she hadn't left him before though. He's said to love her, but the way he treats her...He doesn't accept her for who she is. He wants to change her... The male main character, John, sees her for who she is and accepts that... You get a little bit of everything with this book... A student-teacher romance. As an added warning, there is a part that could be taken as rape... That part was a little conflicting honestly... I don't want to spoil anything, so I won't go into that further... This book is not for the faint of heart... Men that want total control and submission out of women. They played mind games with Lucy and manipulated her into not knowing what was real or fake... Really well-written sex scenes that had me wanting to go out and get my own dom daddy even just for the night... I would have liked more to the ending maybe an epilogue for a year or so later to see how Lucy handled everything that happened. I really enjoyed reading this book. Once I started it, I couldn't put it down... It had twists and turns that I didn't see coming
