His punishment for losing a bet turns out to be the greatest victory of his life

Floyd is the second book in The Carter Family series. This story is about Floyd Carter and Susannah "Suzie".
When Floyd lost a bet with his younger brother Billy his punishment was to get his beard trimmed. Instead of going to the normal shop he would go to Billy took him to a more hipster barber shop across town. When he finally walked in a young woman caught his eye whens he told him to take a seat. It was not only her curvy figure but also that he could see her tattoos. When he introduced himself Floyd found out that her name was Suzie.
Suzie had grown up in Swallow Falls but left when she was seventeen. Her older brother Hayden, who she had loved dearly and he was her hero. He was out riding his motorcycle when a car pulled out in front of him and he was killed. Suzie went into a downward spin and ended up dropping out of high school and went traveling. She came back to Swallow Falls a few months ago and got a job as a tattoo artist in a shop above a barber shop. When the shop downstairs is busy she helps out as she also knows how to cut hair.
Suzie definitely cleans up Floyd and then he takes her for dinner, the best pizza in town, before walking him home. That turns into the start of something that is a real connection between them. But when Suzie finds out the next morning that Floyd is rides motorcycles, and makes his living as a motorcycle mechanic, she shuts the door like a steel trap. Suzie cannot be with anyone that rides bikes after suffering the lose of Hayden. Poor Floyd is not sure what happened as the connection was there but then it was extinguished right before his eyes and he has no idea why. When he does though he is ready to give everything up just to be with the woman that he loves........sell the bike and buy a minivan if that is what it will take. But will it take that much from him to get his girl?

This story was a fun one right from the first page. I loved the entire first chapter with Floyd losing the bet and then having to take his punishment. Lucky for him his punishment in fact turned out to get the greatest victory of his life. Suzie is a fabulous young woman as she is strong, knows what she is willing to deal with and what will break her and is not shy is going after what she wants. I can't wait to read the next brother's story, Jason.

Floyd's brother pushes him into the barbershop to get his out of control beard trimmed and taken care of. He is greeted by Suzie who is going to trim him up. Floyd is actually shocked because Suzie is an tattoo artist not someone who can trim a beard. Floyd is nervous but she is so beautiful and charming. He does mind her spending time getting to know her.
Suzie is helping at the barbershop because they are busy and Floyd is sending her into a tizzy however, he asked her to go for a bike ride and she turns him down quick.
Floyd finds out that she is a sister of a friend that past from motorcycle accident that is why she was skidish about going on a motorcycle ride. Floyd does something Suzie was shocked but goes along with it. Once he proves he really wants her and he would do anything to have her she goes in. They fell in love hard. Both are very happy.

Floyd loses a bet with his brother and he can't go to his normal barber to get his beard trimmed. Suzie is the new tattoo artist but also cuts hair when they get busy downstairs. Floyd and Susie are getting along really good. Have lunch together and desert at her house. But after he tells her he rides a bike she tells him to get lost. Now what's he going to do. First he has to find out why she went all cold on him and then try to fix it. Steamy, sexy story with a sassy feisty woman that turns Floyd inside out. A very touching love story

Floyd lost a bet with his brother Billy resulting in Floyd having to get his beard trimmed. Suzie was the one who was doing the job. She flirted and talked to him throughout the process. He was so worried about how it would look that they made a lunch date bet. Either way no one lost because they wanted a lunch date. They enjoyed their time at the barber shop, lunch and an afternoon of delight until he told her about his job. She kicked him out and wanted nothing more to do with him. Read why she did it and how they overcome her problems. It's a very good book. Written by Cindy :)

A lost bet, that could possibly lead to the best outcome of his life. Floyd meets Susie under duress due to his brother, the attraction is immediate and strong. But can Floyd break through all the walls Susie has up, or will he lose her before she ever gives him a real chance. I enjoyed the patience of Floyd and his commitment to give her the love and support she needs.

Suzie aka Susannah meets up unknowingly with Floyd after trimming his beard. Floyd has fallen fro Suzie almost immediately while getting his beard trimmed. But something he has said has made her refuse to continue communication or intimate interactions. Floyd must figure out what is happening and how to meet her half or all the way. Intense history effects the outcome out this instalove. No cliffhanger

This very well written, interesting and entertaining Book 2 in the Carter Family Series which is sensitive and guaranteed to entertain. It has bold characters; with explosive chemistry between them with a good scenes and story. These characters are very well constructed with a good romance. This book is well thought out with some drama that makes it quite the page turner.

Second listen to by this author. Floyd and Susie are the couple that gets their chance at happiness. Floyd's brother pushes him to go to the barbershop to get his out-of-control beard trimmed. Of course, Floyd loses a bet with his brother and now he is headed the barbershop. Susie is the one to trim his beard and has tattoos and has her own shop for tattoos. They get along while she is trimming his beard and he ask her out for lunch. So will they get a HEA read or listen to find out.

An exciting book two in the Carter Family series! A fast pace read that is well written, emotionally deep, witty, steamy, funny, and entertaining. The characters you will love; the chemistry between them is instant and off the charts. Definitely recommended!

The next Carter brother meets his match when he meets Suzie. Sparks fly from their first meet and it escalated quickly. She has some reservations however but quickly overcomes them. I only wish we would have seen some of her struggle and how she got past them on screen.

Floyd

This book is cute. It has some emotional issues, however the characters fit together. Once they can navigate a path that fits both their needs, they don't have to make life altering sacrifices. The Carter Family is a cute series. I really enjoyed this book.

Quick Read
