María Pilar Conn was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, in 1968. Throughout her professional career, she has held a variety of positions, including interior designer, secretary, and receptionist, as well as other roles that supported her financially. For nearly six years, she owned Cardinal American Bakery in Cabo de Palos, Spain, where she specialized in sculpted cakes for weddings and special events.
She completed her secondary education at Los Gatos High School (California), where she lived for six years before relocating to Spain. Shortly thereafter, she continued her studies at the Escuela de Artes y Oficios in Murcia, where she developed a strong interest in illustration, technical drawing, and painting.
María Pilar has a distinct appreciation for 1970s pulp gothic romance fiction and a marked dislike of hot weather—an ironic preference given her residence in southern Spain. She also maintains a consistent morning ritual of enjoying coffee with a good book, often in the company of her small dog, Mari Cruz.
As a writer, she explores gothic and mystery fiction under the pen name M. P. Conn, while publishing poetry under her full name.

No soy mucho de poesía porque la he entendido poco, pero la autora concibe su poesía como un relato totalmente entendible y de una belleza maravillosa. He leído sus dos poemarios y la tristeza y profundidad del sentimiento que he experimentado a veces me ha conseguido emocionar. Totalmente recomendable.
