Okay, I never hated this book, but me and the first half had a very dysfunctional relationship. It wasn't giving me what I needed, what I wanted. It wasn't until I finished, that I felt the need to return to the beginning of the book and beg forgiveness. This is where I say it's not you it's me, right? Well, it is...it was me. It had nothing to do with the writing or the story, it was one hundred percent all me.
The first half was hard because there was no Cush-ion. No Cush-ion at all. My stubborn need to have Cush kept me from investing or connecting with anything that was going on. This is where I bow down and erect statues to Jillian Dodd.
She made me care.
Not only did she make me care she drafted me to another team, and I went...willingly. TEAM DAWSON FTW! (I'm also Team: She Better Not Eff Things Up With Dawson for Aiden!)
Jillian somehow managed to meet my stubborn resistance by pulling me into a story that is filled with beautifully chaotic, teenage drama. It's a story that's fun and fresh, sexy and steamy. It's dangerously addictive.
I have to admit that I'm ready to see a little more growth from Keats. She tends to frustrate me to the limit by the way she acts with boys in addition to all the conversational "likes". I know the "likes" is a trait and a solid way for character development, but it really gets under my skin. However, I have to remind myself that her growth is a process and it doesn't happen overnight. She is trying to change and I just have to be patient. But hey...when have I ever possessed a virtue? ;-)
I have the utmost respect for Jillian's ability not only to tell a story, but to suck you in. It's almost like you become her characters and begin to want what they want, change when they change. As terrified as I am to see what happens next I can't wait for Date Me. I. Can't. Wait.
Vote for Aiden from The Keatyn Chronicles in the YA Crush tournament! If he wins the tournament, I'll be releasing a very long sneak peek for LOVE ME!!! (Please share with your friends!) http://ya-sisterhood.blogspot.com/201...
Kiss Me starts off exactly where Stalk Me left off... Oh I love these books! I just adore Keatyn! She is the funnest person... And of course I love all of Keatyn’s many boys, you seriously need an index to keep up with them!
Mr Gorgeous- My Dawson!
And God of all Hotties- My Aiden
There was some tension going on between Dawson and Aiden... I started out Team Aiden 100%, then I was Team Dawson for just a minute.... Now- I am conflicted. I think I am still Team Aiden... It's just so hard to decide! Although I have a HUGE soft spot for Riley and Dallas- just not for Keatyn! And In the first book I was Team Cush... but there was B who Keats just adored- well, not anymore! Brooklyn- you really sucked in this book! I am seriously glad the next book will be out in a few months! I cannot wait to see what happens next!!!
Some of my favorite lines:
“You should come with a warning label. Do not kiss when drunk. It was horrible.”
“Who picked out the uniforms this year? For God’s sake you look like glitter whores.”
They have two moods, hungry and horny. So if you see a boy without an erection, you should go make him a sandwich.
“Damn, Keatie, you look like some kind of S&M schoolgirl fantasy.”
“You know, Boots, you’re acting very weird.” “I am very weird.” He laughs. “True.”
The first book in this series was fantastic, this one was even better! If you haven't read these books, get to it!
Kiss Me picks up where Stalk me leaves off. Keatyn is attending boarding school in New York to avoid her stalker. In this installment of The Keatyn Chronicles we meet her new friends, and even get a little peek at some of her old ones.
I will start with my favorite of Keatyn’s friends…
Yes, I am 100% Team Aiden
We meet Keatyn’s current flame Dawson…I like to refer to him as horndog, but in his defense he is a teenage boy.
Then we have a slew of other mouthwatering friends: Riley, Dallas, Jake, Brad, Logan…this list goes on. Basically, its safe to say that Keatyn is a very lucky girl! This first book goes into the struggles Keatyn faces being the new girl in school, living on her own, and for once not being Abby Johnston's daughter. Keatyn matures a lot in this book and begins to realize the error in some of her ways.
Another safe bet...I am 100% hooked on this series about high schoolers. I am not sure how it happened, but I find myself thinking about Keatyn and the gang while I am supposed to be working, cleaning house, etc. Embarassing to admit but its true…this series is addicting!
I highly recommend this series to just about anyone, the books are quick reads, humorous, and even a little sexy.
I actually listened to the audiobook of this one and absolutely loved it, the narrator does a great job!
Spoiler Free Review 4 STARS out of 5 Genre: YA-Mature Contemporary Romance Book 2 in The Keatyn Chronicles
FAN-FREAKING-TAB-U-LOUS! I LOVED IT! I am totally addicted to this series!
If you enjoy YA then you need to read this series. I finished hours ago and I still cannot get these characters out of my brain they are embedded there!
Boy's Boy's Boy's Boy's Boy's I do adore.....*sighs* Kiss me. Date me. Love me. Hate me. STALK ME. Yes this says it all.
This book picks up exactly where book 1 left off. Keatyn decides that she can no longer script her life. Instead due to extreme circumstances Keatyn has assumed a new identity. And is now living clear across the country attending boarding school for kids of the wealthy. Faced with limited contact to her family and zero contact with her friends, life as she knows it has changed.
In less than a week Keatyn has the hottest guys at school wanting her...and the most popular girl hating her. Mind you, this is the very first week of the school year... And things are just getting started!

“You know about the Kool-Aid?” “Everyone knows about the Kool-Aid.” ~Keatyn and Aiden
“Oh, Whitney, honey, we really need to work on your designers. These boots aren’t Slutty, they’re Gucci.” ~Keatyn
“What do you have on?” He runs his hands slowly across my body like he’s blind and I’m braille. ~Dawson
“Too bad I'm not a vampire. I’d bite you. Make you mine.” ~Aiden
Thoughts Dear Readers, I loved this book waaay better than the first book! And book 1 was G O O D! Book 2 offers tons of fun new characters. The writing style and storylines remain solid and the characters are even more appetizing; which I thoroughly enjoyed! The only teensy weensy problem I had was the grammatical errors. Ummm there was a little more than a few so I definitely noticed them. However I inhaled this book regardless, I was literally SUCKED IN from page 1.
My Ratings Characters- Lovable Writing Style- Fun, Witty, and Savory Plot/Storyline- Unputdownable, and fast paced with a touch of Suspense Steam Factor- High/Very Steamy Overall- I LOVED IT! READ IT!!
Warning: This book has mature content and is best suited for readers 16 and older.
Now go forth and read. Then come tell us all about it on Goodreads!
I’m not sure what it is about this series but I just absolutely ADORE it. I think it’s the mix between Gossip girls meets The Hills (which was a catty show on MTV with high school girls) that makes me love it. It’s seriously like watching an entire season but better; if that make sense!! Keatyn is just one of those girls you want to be. She has the “it” factor! Her personality is to die for and she makes you smile, laugh and feel all her boy drama. I really lived vicariously through her in this book. I. WAS. KEATYN!! I really want to be her!! She freaking rocks!
MY KEATYN
When we last left Keatie (sigh...yeah that’s Dawson’s nickname for her **has dreamy look in my eyes**) she had just made the dance team, had a kiss from Aiden at the ferris wheel and was trying to make some new friends. Her life has pretty much been turned upside down but she’s trying to make the best of it. That’s just her...she always makes the best of a bad situation. She’s resilient even when she thinks she can’t deal with situations. She’s in love with ‘The God of all Hotties’ aka Aiden and is trying to figure him out. Aiden has an issue with being hot and cold to her constantly. They have a couple awkward and weird situations but their kisses are blissful, romantic and soft leaving Keatie (yeah I LOVE that nickname) feeling like her soul has met it’s mate!
"It’s a slow, soft, amazing kiss. The kind of kiss that makes me feel like he’s kissing my soul." - Keatyn talking about Aiden
MY AIDEN
They just have this pull to each other that Keatyn cannot figure out. He’s definitely delicious but he’s extremely hard for her to read and understand. She goes to a party one night and gets kissed by another boy (Keatie loves to kiss boys) and this kiss is so bad she dubs it the worst kiss EVER. That kiss is given to her by Dawson (swoon..swoon..swoon)!! Now let me tell you...Ohmigawd he is absolutely, completely, fantabulously, A.M.A.Z.I.N.G!
"You make me feel like a superhero, Keatie." "A superhero?"How?" "In bed. I feel like I could fly, kick the Hulk's ass, bust Superman's chops, all before lunch." - Dawson ((swooooooon))
MY DAWSON
"I know we're suppose to be taking it slow. I know you don't want to be in a relationship until we're sure, but I wanted to give you this." He runs kisses across my face and when he gets to my lips, he murmurs, "It's the key to my heart." - Dawson ((sigh...he makes me melt))
I don’t know if you ever knew a “boy” in high school was THAT boy. The one that was so gorgeous and so sweet and just EVERYTHING a girl could ever dream of. That is Dawson!! Dawson is still hung up on his b*tch of an ex girlfriend Whitney (not my favorite person) when that kiss happens. He was drunk and having a bad night. Keatie and Dawson's friendship is formed when she see’s him at the cave -the hangout- and they bond over their relationship drama. Keatie and Dawson have a lot in common and their relationship really starts to form. The problem is that when Keatyn left home she left the boys she loved behind (Cush and B) who she still has feelings for. She also feels completely compelled and pulled to Aiden and is super attracted to Dawson. Not only does she have all that going on but she’s in a new school with new friends and is all alone!! AND on top of all that is still dealing with the stalker drama. Keatyn has to find her way in this book! She has to become independent and learn that love is work. Who is worth Keatyn's time? and most importantly who is worth Keatyn's love?
Overall I loved this book and series. I find Jillian's writing addictive, witty and absolutely fun. She has such a knack for writing these delicious boys who leave you grinning and swooning like a senior in high school. Reading her books are like falling in love for the first time. It gives you a sense of complete and utter enjoyment. I mean what’s better than getting lost in a world of fashion, girl drama and hot boys! I think these books tantalize and sizzle leaving you with the desire to be young again and experience the world in fun ways. To love with all your heart even if it means crashing and burning. Keatyn to me symbolize LIFE...She lives it with everything that she has. She loves hard, plays hard and parties hard and I. ABSOLUTELY. LOVE. HER! I would HIGHLY recommend this series. It's the perfect escape from your everyday life. There is nothing better!
Someone please tell me why this book got such good ratings???????
Allow me to summarize this book for you: Kissing, sex, popularity, and money, sprinkled with a dash of emotions.
Yup...and this whole books takes place in the course of a few weeks. Within the first few days, Keatyn has decided that she's in love. But then she decides he (Aiden aka the God of All Hotties) is a jerk because he won't have sex with her! WTF? Dude that's NOT the only aspect of a relationship!! Grow up!!
The only thing that made me happy was when Keatyn looked back on her old life and decided how stupid her decisions were.
Keatyn in the last book (see my ranty review): Virginity is so uncool. OMG gotta have sex. Oh he's (Brooklyn) a good candidate and I'm in love with him. Oh no he cheated on me. Don't want to sleep with him. Oh look! Cush says he's in love with me! I love him too! He can take my virginity away. Great idea. Yay no longer a virgin. Fight with Cush. Brooklyn babe, come here! Falling out with Brooklyn. Oh look! Cush bought me a pair of BOOTS! He must love me! I love him because he bought me a present! Yay! Oh no...almost got kidnapped by a psycho stalker. Gotta move away to an expensive and preppy boarding school with tons of hot guys. Now I'm sad. Oh wait! That guy over there! The God of All Hotties! The end.
I kid you not. Granted, I may have skipped over the unimportant stuff but this is basically it. But the good thing is that in this book, Keatyn looks back and is like wow that was really dumb of me!........YA THINK???? But that wasn't until after Cush admitted that his MOM actually bought Keatyn those boots and he's now dating a girl in Oregon.....what else sucks? Keatyn refuses to learn from her mistakes. She's thinking how stupid she was in the past without looking at the same exact mistakes she's making in the present.
When Vincent showed up at Brooklyn's surf tournament, nothing happened. I was looking for an exciting climax.............nope. And Brooklyn? Invites Keatyn to his tournament so she can watch him and they can have sex as friends. But then she decides she hates him when he hooks up with some beach bimbo. You know what Keatyn?? He's not your boyfriend anymore!! He can do whatever the hell he wants!!!!!!!!!!!
Let's talk about Dawson. He and Keatyn aren't dating. He wants her to be his girlfriend. But she doesn't want to "put a label" on their relationship, because she thinks she's in love with Aiden. But she's like, "okay we can have sex, but no title, okay?" They also have sex only a week after meeting each other. **sigh** Aiden is jealous so he acts like a jerk. Why does this player suddenly decide he's so in love? What's so special about Keatyn? She's rich? She wears really expensive clothes (that she ALWAYS describes as like "cute" and "sexy")? What is it? Also I refuse to believe that no one recognized her. She is the daughter of a very famous movie star. There is NO WAY she's stayed out of the paparazzi's eye for 17 years! And she supposedly looks just like her mom.....
Now she's in this boarding school in New York because she's hiding out from Vincent the Psycho Stalker. One day, she's browsing on the internet and just buys a really expensive apartment. For safety. Like a back up hide out. Okay. Then she invites Dawson up there.....for a straight up nothing-but-sex weekend. Gee........doesn't that defeat the purpose of "Safe house than no one but you knows about"??? Keatyn never thinks ahead!
Also if she's fluent in French, why is she taking such a low level French class? She is in a French class with Aiden, who can barely say "Je m'appelle..." That doesn't even make any sense!
Most of this book was the same few scenes played in an endless loop.
Why does Keatyn keep changing her mind about Vanessa (Queen Bee from the last school)? She either talks about how she was her closest friend or her worst enemy! Pick one! Whitney is the most clichéd character ever, the generic one-size-fits-all of b****y popular girls.
Anticlimactic ending. Keatyn needs to stop taking advantage of Dawson! Poor Dawson. He's a nice guy! I feel bad he got stuck with Keatyn. I could go on forever so I'm just gonna stop now. I seriously hope the next book has more substance and emotions. I'm curious because I don't know where this is going. There could be a different boy-toy in the next book....who knows?
Updated review on April 11 after my first reread. Ohmigawd, this book is still beyond adorable!
All I have to say is: boarding school is no day at the beach. It is way more exciting.
My cheeks hurt from grinning so much! There is no way you can get how awesome this book is! And the cover, it really doesn't make this book justice. Keatyn is WAY prettier. And the book is WAY better.
It is so funny, adorable and full of swoony guys. You won't know who to cheer for. Jillian Dodd has an amazing gift. She capture the teen feeling, without making them immature. This book is not about the plot, but the way she tells it. She creates character you get to know and love. I want to go to boarding school. And I want Keatyn as my new best friend.
Stories about boys who will steal your heart. It couldn't be more true! I am suffering hot boys overdose! And I also want to kiss all the cute boys. But I'm definitely team Dawson. Best friend love is the best love!
"Tall, dark and dreamy. And he's super sweet. And he doesn't drive me nuts like the god.
But then there is Aiden. The God of all Hotties who bring Keatyn four-leave clovers whenever she need them.
And then there is Dallas, Riley, Jake and Bryce. I want to hang with them too! And this book is H.O.T. It's fairly innocent but the chemistry is burning hot. Sometimes less is more *naughty grin*
And it is funny!
WFT!? Did I seriously just think that? My heart mated with his? Oh, baby Jesus, it is time for me to get out of here.
"That's exactly what I am wondering? Is real love easy or hard?" "You make me hard." He grins and raises his eyebrows at me.
I've highlighted so many parts! I laughed and aaaaawwwwed and had a big grin on my face. This is beyond fantastic!
The Keatyn Chronicles are similar to a television series. The books do not stand along and this book begins the same night as book one ends. There is no recap of the story.
What are you waiting for? You should be off to read book 1 NOW!
I wasn't planning to read this because the first book made me so mad, but I decided what the hell and gave it a shot. I didn't hate the first book because of the writing and I still liked That Boy (though I wasn't a fan of the sequel). I was hoping and praying this one would redeem Stalk Me for me. And it kind of did and kind of didn't? It's hard to explain.
If Keatyn had started off at boarding school and I hadn't spent 300+ pages in Stalk Me getting to know a bunch of other characters, only to have them ripped away and have her tossed in with a bunch of new ones, I would have liked this book a LOT better. Probably not more than 3-stars better, but still better.
Unfortunately, that's not what happened. What happened is that I read Stalk Me. I got attached to the characters Keatyn spent the first 300+ pages of the book with, especially Cush. If you read my Stalk Me review, you'll see how much I liked Cush. Cush was THE ONLY male love interest that jumped off the pages and just made you fall for him. He was lively and real and SO perfect for Keatyn's personality. Brooklyn came across as a dick for the entire book, and even more so in Kiss Me. Sander was alright, but hello, GAY. The other boys Keatyn made out with were all introduced in the last few pages of Stalk Me and I was so pissed off at that point that I just hated them all instantly. After reading Kiss Me, I still pretty much hate them all (except Dawson).
The way Cush was handled in Kiss Me infuriates me even more. First of all, we get this near the beginning:
And I know I told Cush that I loved him at my party. But he bought me boots! The. Perfect. Boots. And I maybe got a little caught up in the moment.
This right here showcases all of the big issues with Keatyn in a few short sentences. She constantly is telling boys she loves them, or internally saying she loves them. She told a boy she loved him because he BOUGHT HER SOMETHING. Never mind that the boy has been in love with her for years, treated her like a freaking goddess, has similar interests to her, and loves her for who she is (unlike Brooklyn who only loves her when she acts the way he wants her to act).
But whatever. That was pretty bad. But the worst is yet to come. About 5-6 times Keatyn internally mentions that she misses Cush, but she then instantly forgets about him when she starts making out with one of the three boys she kisses during Kiss Me. Then at around 70%, the bombshell that is the reason why this book is getting 2 stars instead of 3.
SPOILERS!!
Seriously?
I don't even know what to say. It's depressing that Dodd would take THE best character and have it turn out like this.
UGH!!!!!!!!!!
Anyways. This book mostly focuses on a love triangle between Keatyn and Aiden and Dawson. Keatyn makes out with both a bunch. She thinks she's in love with Aiden, but he acts like a weirdo douchebag most of the time so she starts dating Dawson (who is the only other decent character in this entire series). I can't help it. I don't hate Dawson. He's not as fun and interesting as Cush, but he's not unbearable. I just can't help but be so emo about Cush that I can't really get in to the Dawson/Keatyn relationship that much. It appears, from reading other reviews, that I'm the only one, but I can't help what I feel.
I don't know if I'll continue the series. I probably will, because I have this weird complex about finishing series (it took me slogging through five terrible awful books to finally give up on the Celestra series). I'm really disappointed in how this is going though. :(
Okay I want a redo of my high school experience with Keatyn Monroe as my bff/roommate at this private school. Oh the fun we would have the designer clothes we would wear and oh the boys we would kiss!
If you enjoyed the first book of this series Stalk Me then you will enjoy Kiss Me. It’s flirty, fun and a bit steamy. The story has progressed along with Keatyn and I can only guess at what the last book of this series will hold. My only complaint was the abrupt ending, I wanted to read more...but See Jillian Dodd's Date Me Sneak Peak it's the next four chapters!!! my link text
Keatyn has settled into her new life made some girlfriends, joined some clubs at school and is surrounded by boys. There’s The God of all Hotties- Aiden, Dawson, Dallas, Reilly and Jake. Picking the perfect guy can be difficult when all are as equally interested in you.
I have switched teams to Team Dawson - Yep I'm drinking the Kool-Aid!
I’m hoping Keatyn gets that necklace off of his neck and wears it in the next book!
Kiss Me was just as good as the first book in the series, Stalk Me. My only complaint is how the books just end. I hate having to wait!!
Keatyn seems to have kept up her ways of jumping from boy to boy, at least in the beginning of the book. I am not a fan of this, but suppose it is the way of some teenagers. I am definitely Team Aiden and was shocked about the whole Dawson thing. Though he is a sweetheart and seems to genuinely like Keatyn. I still have a soft spot for Aiden and hope she ends up with him. His feelings for Keatyn seem to run quite deep. I hope she wakes up soon! I am liking Dallas though too. His little confession to her towards the end of the book shocked me and made me fall a little in love with him.
This was a great continuation of the series and as highly addictive as the first book. I hope we don't have to wait too long for Date Me!! If you are a Jillian Dodd fan, then get this book. If you haven't read any of her books yet then get reading!!
BOYS BOYS BOYS Keatyn is living the teenage dream. She is rich, beautiful and surrounded by tons of gorgeous boys. I mean buff, gorgeous, dreamy, god-like boys!! Her life is perfect, right? Oh wait, except that she has a stalker and can't ever see her family again.
I love this series! It is adorable. Easy great read. Love the inner monologue that goes on in her head.
While I wasn't completely blown away by Stalk Me, I was very excited for the release of Kiss Me! I was not disappointed. Kiss Me was everything and more. Dodd delivered a story full of the perfect amount of romance, boys and mystery. I've already fallen in love with Dodd's That Boy series and am so glad I was able to enjoy Kiss Me.
Keatyn has left her beach lifestyle, friends and family for boarding school… unfortunately, not by choice. She was forced to leave after she was almost kidnapped by her mum's stalker, Vincent. None of Keatyn's old friends know about her whereabouts and probably never will. So what’s the only good side of leaving everything behind? She gets to start fresh. She has a new lifestyle at an elite boarding school, new friends and most importantly new boys! But when keeping the secrets of her former life starts to get harder and harder, how will Keatyn cope? And when there are plenty of boys fighting over her and she doesn't know what to do, will it all become too much? Most importantly, which boy will Keatyn choose!?
I absolutely loved Kiss Me! I thought it was great. Jillian Dodd sure knows how to write hot, swoon-worthy boys! That's write plural, boys. Keatyn sure has a rather large line up of boys to choose from! No shortage for her! Share some, hey?
I liked Keatyn a lot more in Kiss Me. She was somehow more mature and I liked that about her. She wasn't acting like a child and she wasn’t worried about small, silly things. She had experienced a lot of difficult things for a girl her age and she was handling it surprisingly well.
One thing Jillian Dodd is very good at, is writing love triangles. In Kiss Me there are too many boys to count! But it works because Keatyn is working through them one at a time (god that sounds awful). The main boy in Kiss Me was Dawson. Sweet, sexy Dawson! I liked Dawson, I honestly did, but I’m still blinded by my love for Cush and Aiden. Sorry, Dawson, but you just don’t do it for me. I thought Dawson was actually really sweet and nice and sexy, but he wasn’t right for Keatyn. Even Keatyn wasn’t completely sure, and Dawson was aware of that. So, yeah, overall, Dawson was good, just not good enough!
The next important boy in Kiss Me was Aiden. I’m sorry every other boy in the world in Kiss Me, but Aiden is perfect. I am so team Aiden. Sure, he is temperamental but that is Keatyn’s fault! Keatyn was kind of leading him on, then she was all over other boys (that makes her sound like a slut but she’s really not). It was so clear how Aiden feels about Keatyn but she kept turning him down. In Kiss Me, she was purely focused on Dawson. It made me so sad, because it’s obvious how much Aiden and Keatyn both liked each other. I want Aiden to win Keatyn’s heart.
In Stalk Me, I was definitely team Brooklyn. Then, along came Cush and I was team Cush. Then both Brooklyn and Cush were assholes and I was confused. Then I was team Cush again and I totally hated Brooklyn. I would just like to put it out there that Brooklyn is indeed the biggest asshole. The scum of the earth. Dick head. Poo bum. Whatever you want to call him! I did not like Brooklyn at all and he was definitely not right for Keatyn. I understood that they both still wanted to be friends after their… issues, and that was ok. But when Brooklyn got Keatyn all excited in Kiss Me, when he says he wants to meet up, and then did the stupidest thing in the world of stupidest things, I hated him so much. Honestly. Brooklyn, I hope you die a horrible death, you are awful.
Thankfully, after all the dramatics and heartache in this book, there were no real scary Vincent scenes. Thank gosh! I don’t think my heart would have enjoyed that (I might’ve died). There is one scene, though, that had my heart racing and I was on the edge of my seat! It wasn’t that I was scared, it was the anticipation as to what was about to happen. It’s definitely safe to say that I do not miss Vincent one bit.
There was one thing I missed in this book, though, and it was the regular appearances of Keatyn’s family. I loved her cute little sisters and her cool mum and stepdad. It reminded me a little bit of my family, except for the little sisters. Keatyn’s mum, Abby, and stepdad, Tommy, still featured in the book occasionally, which was nice. Also the little sisters featured once and it was so cute! I also really loved Garrett. He should be counted as a part of the family because he really is awesome.
There were only a few things I didn’t like about Kiss Me, but they don’t matter that much because the good definitely out did the bad! I didn’t like the fact that there were so many characters, especially boys. It was sometimes rather confusing, but I guess I got over it after a while. The plot was quite jumpy. In fact, it was a bit of a strange plot. There wasn’t really any basic plot, but I can understand where the books are going, so its lack of actual plot was overlooked. Two other things that really annoyed me: the fact that Keatyn was spoilt rotten and how indecisive Keatyn was! In a fit of rage, Keatyn threw her iPad, and straight away Garrett just tells her he’s sending a new one. Like… she just threw her goddamn IPAD and he didn’t care. I guess money makes people do silly things. Indecisive Keatyn really pissed me off. I mean, I understand things are hard, but just pick a freaking boy for god’s sake!! Keatyn was really confused and her confusion confused me (see? How confusing was that!?)
Anyway, I thought Kiss Me was a lot better than Stalk Me and I absolutely cannot wait for the rest of the series to be released.
I can't deny it. I'm a KC groupie. I'm even in a Keatyn Chronicles discussion group. There are theories flying around all over the place about "WHO WILL KEATYN END UP WITH???" Well, we have a long way to go before we find that out. In the meantime...I'm enjoying all these yummy guys she gets to choose from.
While Keatyn's indecisiveness in Stalk Me, drove me nuts, it didn't seem to bother me much in this one. Maybe it's because of DAWSON. Oh my, Dawson. I wasn't sure I could love anyone more than Cush for Keatyn, but I sure was wrong. Now, in true Keatyn fashion, she "thinks" she wants Aiden, but really...Dawson is the perfect guy for her. However, Dawson is also a bit uncertain. He's a bit stuck on his ex or like Keatie, thinks he is. Once Keatyn and Dawson spend more time together though, they can't deny that they have strong feelings for each other. I love Dawson and Keatyn together and will admit that I will be a bit crushed if they don't end up together. The only one that would make it "ok", would be if she ended up with Damien. I know...you're all shocked that I'd pick the rocker.
We still have the stalker to worry about in this book. Plus, we get to see a small blip of Cush, Damien, and Brooklyn. Urgh, Brooklyn. I missed her parents in this book. Although, we do see them in bits and I really love her talks with Tommy. The cast of characters continues to entertain me. The group definitely provides a winning combination. They are funny, swoony, and are certain to provide teenage angst.
Whether you like Dawson, Cush, Damien, Riley, Dallas, Aiden, or Brooklyn...one thing remains; WHO is Moon Boy??? I have a guess and I can't wait to see if I'm right. For now, hang in there members of the KC Club. Date Me's release is right around the corner! I can't wait!!!!
*While the age range says Mature YA, I'd personally list it as NA. There is a more mature feel to it and there is sexual content.
Quotes: (FYI, I had 8 pages of highlights) ~He leans in and kisses me. A slow, sweet kiss. And I can't help it. I kiss him back a little. Just, like, to verify my opinion of his kissing.-Loc 1143
~"If only boys came with warning labels. Like, yours would be: Do not kiss when drunk. Riley's would be: I'm going to sleep with you and your best friend too."-Loc 1384
~"I still want to take it slow. I still can't tell you how I feel, but I'm thinking this picture has the potential to be better than what I'm used to."-Loc 2515
These are like the funnest books ever. Like totally. No, really...they are! :) They're like crack...they're an addiction....and I just can't quit. And frankly, I don't want to. This is how they make me feel...
Okay...I'm going to go out on a limb here...but I think I am still
TEAM AIDEN!!!
What can I say, I like the under-dog. Though I think Ms Dodd is just trying to get us all to fall in love with Dawson so we forget about Aiden and then he's going to make this huge comeback! And don't get me wrong it was hard not to fall in love with Dawson. Because I did.
Kiss Me picks up right where Stalk Me left off. Keatyn is at boarding school where we meet The God of All Hotties--aka Aiden, Dawson, Riley, Dallas, Jake, Bryce, Logan, Tyrese...the list goes on and on. Keatyn meets Aiden the first day and thinks she's in love--but after an unfortunate back-pat (awkward)
things between them take a turn for the ugly. They seem to have a volitile relationship the remainder of the book. Enter Dawson. Dawson and Keatyn start out as friends but that quickly progresses to more. But Keatyn swore off boys and love so she still guards her heart. Slowly by the end of the book, Dawson has inched his way in a bit. But Aiden was always there in the back-ground patiently waiting for his turn.
Honestly, they are both so great....all of the hotties are. Aiden had some really sweet moments and so did Dawson. Including both homecoming gestures! *sigh* In the end, I think there is such a thing as love at first sight....and I don't think we've seen the last of Aiden!
Thank goodness Date Me is releasing next week!!! It's going to be hell waiting for Love Me....and I don't even want to begin to think about what's going to happen in Hate Me.
There books are just pure fun. I love getting lost in the life of Keatyn and all of her boys. Can't wait to read the rest of the story...
So where do I start???? Maybe with Dawson... or Dallas... or Riley... or AIDEN.
I didn't like this book, I didn't even sort of like this book. I FREAKING LOVED THIS BOOK!!!!
It picks up right where we left Keatyn in Stalk Me. Literally I love Jillians writing b/c you don't miss a beat. You get the best description of Keatyns day to day life without wondering what is going to go down today.
I LOVE her friendship with the boys. Dawson, Dallas, & Riley. I am Team Aiden but for some reason I am ok with her sort of being with Dawson. She will end up with Aiden...that is all that matters. She is young and I say let her have some FUN!!!
I thought I loved Stalk Me but the little tease of Jillian introducing us to these boys in the last part of SM was enough to put me over the edge wanting more and Kiss Me proved to be perfect in getting to know these boys even better.
I can't wait for the next installment Date Me!!!
I am Team Aiden all the way. He IS moon boy and I know I will be with this series until the end just to see fate work his magic and have Keatyn and Aiden have their HEA.
"I swear my heart jumps out of my chest, mates with his, and comes back to me." <3 Aiden <3
Wow, Jillian has me switching teams constantly...these boys...oh my!! Kiss me shows Keatyn acclimating to the changes in her life and new friends. Very cute, fun read! Anxiously waiting for the next installment.
Well holy shit. Im on boy overload with a side of whiplash! Team Aiden? Dawson? Brooklyn (so disappointed with him). Was not happy with Cush and his Facebook message. Whitney thinks she's the queen but she's not. Love Riley and Dallas and the other boys.
This was a lot of fun, and it was a bit sexier than the last.. with the little exhibitionist showings at the football game and the library! DRAMA DRAMA DRAMA, boys boys boys boys, bitches, backstabbers, fun, laughs, tears, just the perfect amount of everything. Just all round awesome YA/NA
As stated in my review of Stalk Me this series plays out like a TV Show, we pick up instantly where we left off. At the Fair After kissing Aiden and making the dance team.
Brief overview of what goes on this book:
Keatyn
She is trying to be as normal as she can but she misses her family and friends. As well as the beach. And her freedom. She is not allowed on any social networking so has no idea how Cush is doing after she just left him. She is allowed to speak to Security, her Mum & Tommy, B & D that’s it. The weirdest thing is she feels like she belongs for the first time, but no one knows who she really is. Falling into easy friendships for the first time and doing everything she wants to do.
Aiden aka The God of all Hotties.
He wants Keatyn and he makes it known. He even quotes her Keats! After she looses a bet to him she has to dance with 29 times. TOTAL SWOONWORTHY SCENE! He is apparently a player – I never saw any of that. Maybe he had changed his ways trying to get Keatyn but no groupies mentioned. The 4 leaf clover he gives her is sweet as shit! The friendship they spark is great but still too much sexual chemistry. He does get frustrated and lashes out at her though without explanation. Well OBVIOUSLY it’s cos he likes her, but he never explains the reasons to her and I would like to hear them! honestly I’m team Aiden.
Dallas and Reilly become her BFF’s – I LOVE THESE TWO!
Great Sidekicks.
Dawson –
Sigh Dawson – At first he’s a DICK. A massive DICK. He is Reilly’s older brother and he is still hung up on his Ex Whitney. The school’s Queen Bee. Keatyn starts to give him advice on how to win her back. Pretty soon Keatyn becomes the person that he wants not Whitney. Keatyn doesn’t want a label but she does start seeing Dawson and he really is an awesome guy. Can’t fault him. He adores her, and is great fun. And the way he asks her to the Homecoming dance? Made me fall for him harder. SWOON I’m team Dawson!
Whitney - Whitney hates Keatyn. She doesn’t want Dawson but Dawson is hers. She is THE QUEEN BEE at this school and wants to make Keatyn’s life hell. I don’t want to write anything about her cos she is just ugh... I just wanted to use this GIF
Brooklyn –
I used to be on your team. I used to like you a lot. Now I don’t. Douche bag.
Damian – Your still awesome keep on being a good buddy to Keats.
Okay So I know what you’re thinking... Hold the phone didn’t Kellie say she was Team Aiden, and then she said Team Dawson?
I’m not gunna lie to ya... I AM BOTH!
I can’t choose! DON’T MAKE ME CHOOSE!
I seriously think the only way that I can choose is if one of them beats the shit out of her, or cheats, or murders someone, sells organs on the black market or kidnaps little kids or something! I have a feeling that Aiden is going to be “the one” but luckily we have several other books to get through first.
I read this back to back after Stalk Me. I had to know what happens…
The stalker is still out there and we do see him pop up every now and then, but this is basically about Keatyn trying to find her place in the world. She still does some shit that makes you want to punch her in the ovaries but overall this book SUCKED me in 100% I had to finish it! We find out what happened to Cush
BRING ON THE NEXT BOOK!! "This isn't your traditional love story. It's not a story about one girl and one boy. It's a story about a girl's journey through adolescence and the many boys she meets along the way. The many SEXY boys she meets along the way. Basically, it's chick lit at it's best. There are numerous boys to fall for, the story line is engaging and entertaining, and the main character Keatyn is hilarious.
Keatyn is boy crazy to the 10th power! She crushes hard and she falls in love easily. She's sort of flighty, but in my opinion, her character accurately represents a 16-year-old girl. She is young and she has her whole life in front of her, which is why I welcomed her boy craziness." - Taken from my review of Stalk Me (The Keatyn Chronicles #1)
Kiss Me, the second novel in The Keatyn Chronicles, picks up right where Stalk Me left off. Keatyn has cut almost all ties from her previous life and is now living at a boarding school to protect herself and her loved ones from a crazy stalker. Keatyn doesn't have to face life or death situations at boarding school, but she does have to deal with new drama and a new group of friends, enemies, eye candy, and make out buddies. One thing I can guarantee you is that Keatyn's life is never dull. Trust me, where she goes the drama is sure to follow.
Keatyn is the same hilarious, fickle, boy-crazy girl from Stalk Me. Honestly, I have a very love/hate relationship with Keatyn. I love her, but the chick drives me freaking crazy. I love her, but I really want to smack her in the face at times. She's very flighty. There are so many hot guys at her new boarding school and she wants them all. She feels something and she just goes for it. She doesn't always stop, think, and then act. Like I said before, I love her, I'm just ready for her to settle down a little bit. That being said, I honestly believe that Keatyn will mature as this series progresses. In fact, she matured a lot in Kiss Me. When you compare the first half of this novel to the second half, you can definitely see growth in Keatyn's character.
There are so many guys in this novel that it's hard to keep all of the men in Keatyn's life straight. But I'll go ahead and give you the low down on the two main love interests in Keatyn's life: Dawson and Aiden.
Dawson: Dawson used to date Whitney - the bitchy queen bee who hates Keatyn. Keatyn starts off by giving him advice on how to get over Whitney. Over time, Keatyn becomes the thing that helps Dawson get over Whitney. Dawson really is a great guy. He's sweet and loyal. He treats Keatyn like a princess. I have nothing bad to say about Dawson.
Aiden: Aiden is the god of all hotties. He's gorgeous. I've heard him called a player, but I've never actually seen him behave like a player. In fact, Aiden is popular, but he doesn't really hang out with the popular kids. He doesn't really care about social status. I have a feeling that Aiden is the "the one" for Keatyn. He sometimes gets frustrated with her or lashes out, but I think it's because he really cares about her and he doesn't like to see or hear about her with other guys. I have nothing bad to say about Aiden. Hoenstly, I'm kind of rooting for him at this point! :)
Kiss Me was a great addition to The Keatyn Chronicles. It's another dramatic and entertaining chapter in Keatyn's life. I look forward to continuing this series. I can't wait to see what's in store for Keatyn next!
I gave Kiss Me (The Keatyn Chronicles #2) by Jillian Dodd 4 STARS (3.5 STARS). I recommend Kiss Me because it's a fun, entertaining novel that is perfect for "mature" young adults.
*I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review on Ashley's Book Nook.*
“If only boys came with warning labels. Like, yours would be: Do not kiss when drunk. Riley’s would be: I’m going to sleep with you and your best friend, too.” – Keatyn
Okay, let me just start off by saying that if the boys at boarding school are all as hot, sweet, athletic, charming, adorable, funny and whatever other adjective I can think of, as they are in Kiss Me...I wish I would have known about that sooner. I probably would have begged my parents to send me away! Seriously. My bags would have already been packed and loaded in the Jeep. I would have been strapped in my seatbelt with bells and whistles on yelling, “Let’s goooooooo! Hurry uuuuuuup!” So to sum that up: Keatyn’s boarding school sounds like a feasting ground. And this girl’s hungry.
Kiss Me starts off on the same night Stalk Me ends; Keatyn got a weak-in-the-knees kiss from Aiden on top of the Ferris wheel, she learned she made the dance team at her new boarding school, and starts to think that maybe this new life won’t be so bad after all. This second book in The Keatyn Chronicles takes you through the beginning of Keatyn’s journey in boarding school and follows her through new friendships, new relationships, and as if you couldn’t tell by title...lots...and lots of kissing.
For those of you who read my review of Stalk Me, you know I was 100 percent, all lady parts aboard the Team Cush train...and if you didn’t read my review, well, you should have. But now you know. I just loved Cush and I honestly didn’t think there would be any way Jillian would be able to sway me to another guy, no matter how many fine pieces of meat were roaming around Keatyn’s boarding school. Welp...Jillian Dodd, I underestimated your abilities to make an even swoonier (yeah, swoonier. I made it up, deal with it) character than Cush. So, in the words of Joey Tribbiani: “Hey Dawson. How you doin’??”
I don’t want to give away any spoilers so I don’t want to say who she ends up with, but I will say this; I’m not a big fan of Aiden because he kind of acts like a girl, and I want Keatyn and Dawson to be together, get married and have lots of babies. Well, don’t hold me to that; who knows what kind of hotness creation will be in the next book to make me change my mind…again.
Here are a few other things that made Kiss Me pretty freaking great: 1) “Keatie” 2) Greek mythology references (I geek out hard when it comes to mythology) 3) H.O.M.E.C.O.M.I.N.G.? 4) The naughty librarian
Kiss Me was a good sequel to Stalk Me, and I can’t wait to read the rest of this series. The main reason I didn’t give Kiss Me 5 stars is because it lacked the suspense factor. We get little bits of information on her stalker, but he plays a pretty minor role in this book. I loved that there seems to be ends tying up with Brooklyn and Cush, and I must say, I was pretty dang surprised by both of those story lines. All-in-all, Kiss Me is another great read by the lovely Jillian Dodd. Is it too early to ask about Date Me??? ;)
"I feel like I've died and gone to hottie heaven." - Keatyn
This is how Keatyn feels when she arrives to her boarding school, a place that will be her home for the next year of her life, and it is NOT a joke. It is a Hottie Heaven that only Jillian Dodd could create so well. When I finished reading Stalk me (vol. 1), I was left with an amazing feeling that I had just walked into my teenage dream of going to a boarding school with hot boys and, well, have fun. Keatyn arrives to this boarding school and is suddenly introduced to so many boys at once, and well, you CANNOT help but wonder who will be the boy to steal her heart. Trust the possibilities are endless and you will definitely be rooting for one team in particular, or as in my case, TEAMS.
<3 Team Dallas and Team Aiden <3
Do NOT be fooled though... This is not a book about a girl meets boy and falls in love AT ALL, it is so much more. This is a coming-of-age story where a girl, who was not sure if she liked herself that well to begin with (Stalk Me), is sent to boarding school due to certain circumstances that happen in Stalk me...it has to do with the title of the book. Anyway, in Kiss me, the reader will begin to see the transformation of Keatyn into someone that will be proud of her own achievements, decisions in life, and, maybe, fall in love. You begin to see her become a girl that is so likable that when you are inside her head (the book is written in first person so you are always inside her head) you cannot stop yourself from grinning. So much so that your cheeks will hurt. Keatyn doesn't lose one bit of her fantastic/bigger than life personality from Stalk me, but what the reader discovers in Kiss me is that she has sooo more many layers to her pesonality that make her soo unique and so Keatyn. What I mean is that You don't get to fully appreciate her in Stalk me. In Kiss me, you get to see that she is sweet/sexy/playful/spunky/funny/charismatic/confused/damaged... she is a REAL teenager.
I won't give details about the plot because you NEED TO READ this book but what I will tell you is that if you enjoy real teenage voices, with extremely well developed characters, and an amazing and well-thought-out plot this is THE book for you.
Jillian Dodd's writing is relevant, witty, playful, hilarious, and very current. You'll get your analogies and your deep writing but in a fun and very, very witty way. You will laugh your butt off when you read this book, you will sigh and want to swoon... you will fan yourself with the closest thing to you because the boys are so hot... you will cry with Keatyn.. and you will be AFRAID for her too... This is a phenomenal book. And you do not want to miss it.
One last thing, Teenagers and parents should read this book together!!!! It deals with very relevant issues that teenagers face such as being able to communicate openly with their parents, sex, and popularity. It is a beautiful book with sooo many beautiful messages underneath all the fun, wittiness, and lightness that characterizes the author's writing.
I loved this book so much more than the first, however once again I felt like I shouldn’t have.
So I have said it a million times but I will say it again. I HATE LOVE TRIANGLES. The reason for this is someone always has to miss out, or neither of them in the end, or if the author is a masochist she just kills one of the characters off. The only thing that gets me past a love triangle normally is those books such as the first in this series Stalk Me and Between the Lines by Tammara Webber where I can’t stand one character. So as long as they end up with who I want them to end up with me I am happy as Larry.
The reason I didn’t like this book: I COULD NOT CHOOSE. Usually when I do face the love triangle scenario, for example in The Hunger Games and Twilight I end up falling down on one side. This is probably the first time where I am TEAM AIDEN and TEAM DAWSON. Although I must say I am definitely not Team Dallas or Team Damian because I really don’t see a romantic relationship with these two. They are friends (even though she does kiss Dallas), they should stay friends in my honest opinion.
In a way I know where Dodd is going with this. I know that eventually Team Aiden is going to win. It’s inevitable so I’m mentally preparing myself to cry for Dawson but also be happy for Aiden. I am kind of wishing that Dawson has an asshole moment or turns out to be gay or cheats on her or something that I don’t have to feel sorry for him. Do you see now what this book is doing to my head? Although that said even if Team Aiden does win out, the way that this series has been going there will be a new team to join after Aiden turns out to be a dick. I sure hope not.
As you can probably tell from my rather ranty thoughts this book is drama filled. It centres around drama. The thing I loved the most about this book is that I think Keatyn grows as a person. I had a love/hate relationship with her in the first book, but in this book it’s more on the love side of things as she does become less annoying and I like how she shuns popularity rather than strives for it.
Having experienced high school myself with a lot of guy friends I really enjoyed the platonic relationship between her, Riley and Dallas. It was nice and made me smile. I want to be their best friends too!
This is one of those books I love to hate. But boy can I not wait to read more!!!!
So loved this book. I think I even loved it more than the first. Is that even possible because Stalk me was EPIC! So what does that make Kiss Me?-- UBER EPIC? It probably doesn't even matter. Except that you so need to read this book!!! Jillian Dodd is like the Goddess of mature YA lit-- she just gets it. Kiss Me, the second book to the Keatyn Chronicles, was so much fun. There is still the God of All Hotties making his play on Keatyn but then there's Dawson. OMG-- I personally think he should have the title of God of All Hotties. But whatever -- he's just HOT!!! And he and Keatyn totally click. But what's a girl to do -- it's so confusing with all the hotness right at your finger tips. I'm not sure I would be able to keep a clear head to try and figure out how my life has changed and what hottie i should be with and oh-- that stalker guy, Vincent is still a presence - um scary. Life at boarding school seems cool. I mean there's of course the bitch Whitney but whatever. She's gonna do what she does. So back to J Dodd --- being the goddess that she is, wrote a fun, sexy, HOT, well really HOT actually, not too angsty, damn fab book!!! All her characters are so much fun. And-- they totally remind you of what it was like to be that young again. The fashion is to die for -- so want to raid Keatyn's closet. And where were the Gods of All Hotties when I was in high school? The story isn't too heavy-- well except for that whole Vincent stalker bit -- but Keatyn is being well protected. You fall in love with this story cuz it's light. You laugh, you SQUEEE and OMG -- the sweet things those boys do for Keatyn-- even Riley and Dallas who are HOT but they're just Keats' friends who are great kissers. And Keatyn- um who would't want to be her friend. She is so witty, and she is so not whiny. She's strong but she's a girl and has feelings. I love her. She's one of the best young female characters in any books. If you're looking for a fun night and something laid back-- totally read Kiss Me. It's so good and did I mention HOT? Cuz ya-- HOT!!! -- that is all.
Did you guys ever watch Gossip Girl? Or Beverly Hills 90210 in the early days?
Well, if you enjoyed those, you’re going to love the steamy Keatyn Chronicles. Readers have gone wild for Keatyn and her complicated life, never mind her even more complex love life.
Jillian’s ability to write such a fabulously drawn character has readers coming back for more again and again. Keatyn may look as if she has it all, but she hasn’t and she has the smarts to know it too. This is no timid little doormat. This is a girl who’s on life’s journey to understand herself, her sexuality, to figure out where she fits in to a perplexing world and how she deals with being separated from all she holds dear.
It’s the sign of a great author when he/she deals effortlessly with a protagonist’s flaws. And Keatyn has plenty, which made me laugh out loud at times and brought a lump to my throat, too.
The secondary characters are incredibly well written, especially the guys. The men are so drool worthy, fans of Keatyn are busy on social networking sites posting photos of who they think should play them in a film or television series. And right there is the magic. I wouldn’t be surprised to see a television series in the books’ future.
There’s plenty more to come from Jillian and I cannot wait.
This book makes me want to go back to high school and be a teenager again! And not any teenager but one that has fun, flirts and kiss boys :)
I love Keatyn, she is so much fun and even when at times I want to smack her and tell to get a grip (like, yeah, Aiden likes you duh!!) I want to hug her and tell her how cute and adorable she is and that I am going to be using some of her shoes and purses of course!
I love that we had the chance to learn more about all the kids at the new school and my heart brakes every time she misses her little sisters and mom, It will really sucks to be in that situation!
Looking forward to the next book, see what happens with Aiden ( I know Dawson it's cute but Aiden got me at soccer!) and of course what crazy Vincent has in store!
Oh and you can cu off Brooklyn for the remaining of the books, he sucks!!
Great job Jillian! I am in love with Keatyn and cant wait to hear more on her adventures!
Can I just say that I absolutely love Jillian Dodd and the her Keatyn Chronicles series! I hate when the books end because I want more!!
In Kiss Me, we pick up right where Stalk Me left off. Keatyn is at boarding school with a new life, new friends and new boys! Quite a few of them! I think at one point I was actually confused with ALL of the boys, Riley, Dallas, Dawson, Aiden and let's not forget about Brooklyn (though he's on my shit list right now). While I'm still Team Aiden (demi-God of all hotties), Dawson was sweet, sexy and charming just not who I see Keatyn with for the rest of the series. They do have a cute relationship but I'm just waiting for Aiden to step it up a notch! Aiden does have his swoon-worthy moments, especially his song list! He is the perfect blend of sweetness and bad boy!
