Because her biggest fear has returned to haunt her. And this time, it won't hesitate...

As prosecutor Sarah Cross discovers, it is entirely possible for a child’s disappearance to evolve into the most impossible case of her career.

Especially when her higher-ups seem determined to silence her at all costs. As more and more children go missing, Sarah must recruit the help of her co-worker, Lee, who suspects her for everything.

As Lee starts acting strangely, Sarah is forced to face her greatest fear: when the body of a child is discovered, pulling back the white sheet just might bring her before the dead eyes of her own daughter.

Legal procedural competently done for entertainment

Readable, entertaining, enough action.

However, don’t care for the author’s habit of teasing additional material by signing up for her newsletter, and for some reason the promised extra bits aren’t accessible.

"Blood Verdict" by Freya Atwood

My Speculation:

The author gives us another suspenseful, crime, mystery, thriller, and dramatic read in 'Blood Verdict' where we find that Sarah Cross and detective Black are there to solve it once again. We see detective Black and Sarah has been taken off of a critical case to each of these two that involves missing children. What will they do as they are put into situations where they both almost lose their lives? Will Sarah solve this biggest case of her career to win in the end when all is said and done?

There will be many twists and turns, trafficking rings, immigrations, conspiracy, and corruption where you will have to keep up with all that is going on in this story. It was quite interesting how this author put this story altogether in who is to be trusted? What will be of real interest is where seems to be even a lot of corruption going on in this policing department where Sarah works. Be ready for some more interesting, well-developed, and defined characters that are simply off the chart as they give the readers one heck of a good read.

'Blood Verdict' will be a read that you will not want to put it done till the end. Now, in the end, will Sara and Lee finally be together? I do hope so!

BLOOD TESTIMONY is a Sarah Cross Legal Thriller by Freya Atwood. The characters are interesting with real human flaws which made the story even more interesting. The suspense is compelling with twists and turns that are sure to keep you turning the pages to find the answers. The main characters, Sarah Cross and Lee Black, usually work well together creating a well-oiled team.

A young girl has vanished and later found dead in a park. The more Sarah Cross and Detective Lee Black investigate, the more tangled and dangerous the case becomes.

Sarah is reassigned to another case, eventually being loaded with so many frivolous assignments she doesn't have time for anything else. Detective Lee Black has also been reassigned, then placed on medical leave eventually dropping out of sight. The more questions she asks, the more Sarah is beginning to think everyone is against her, trying to get her to leave the DA's office. Is there a conspiracy going on?  Is everyone corrupt?  Who can she trust?

I was drawn into the story from the first page and could hardly put the book down to eat or sleep.  Can hardly wait for Sarah's next case.

This is the 3rd book in the series and it was great. In this story, Sarah has been assigned to a murder case, but she then is taken off of it. Lee working with Sarah and has been removed as well. Sarah is given what appear to be simple cases to keep her busy, while Lee has been suspended. Sarah eventually takes vacation days and decides that she will work on the case which relates to the initial killing case she was removed from. Lee has also been working a case and they both get together when it is discovered they overlapped.

To find out why Lee and Sarah were taken off the case, who the individual from the police department was that replaced Lee and what information that Lee and Sarah ultimately developed that resolved the case then you must read the book. The ending will surprise you as well.

Sarah is in a case that is literally going to either put her on the map or in the grave~ Another murder of a young girl, a missing young girl that her daughter knows, other missing person cases…what do they all have in common with a past case? Lee is acting very strangely…disappearing, not answering calls, secretive, angry, and most of all…acting like he is back on the booze~ Her boss is hiding something big, she is taken off her main case with no justifiable explanation, followed by two different factions, putting others in danger once again, making new friends and unlikely alliances, most of all…a theory conspiracy that will affect so many…up to those in high positions…what does it all entail? Who are the major players? What is truly going on? This story is VERY intense and will leave you wanting more of Sarah Cross and her team!

Blood Verdict begins with a grisly murder and leads to an in-depth investigation that points in an unexpected direction.  Sarah and her trusted confidants are taken on a dangerous journey to figure out who is behind the disappearance and murder of children in their community.  Those on the case are not afraid to put themselves in the line of fire to capture the bad guys.

In the midst of a child’s murder, other strange things begin to happen.  Are these events related or random? Sarah finds it hard to trust others, as it seems that she’s being purposely steered away from this case.  This makes her think some of her co-workers might be ..................

Sarah Cross works for the DA in Silver City. After a particularly heartbreaking murder scene her Detective Lee is suddenly paranoid and acting strange. He distances himself from her. As they both suddenly get taken off the case they work separately.
This was a fast paced crime thriller. The plot is dark made even darker because it happens everyday around the world! I love all the characters even Sarah’s sleazy ex husband! I can’t wait to see where the next book takes us in this amazing series. If you like thrillers than this is the book and series for you! I highly recommend this book and this series!

A Great Legal Challenge

This is book 3 of 3 in the series.

Sarah Cross is on a dangerous path to try and find who is behind the disappearance and murder of children. Then Sarah and detective Lee who she works closely with on this case, find themselves yanked off the case and Lee suspended to keep them from digging deeper to find the killer.

Who should they trust? This story has many twists and turns as the adventure unfolds.

I really enjoyed this book! And I think you will also.

Bad grammar and editing destroys the ambiance

I liked these characters and very much liked the third installment in this series (this book.) However, the spelling errors (their vs there) etc, and missing words in some sentences made it difficult to keep my mind focused on the plot. I feel it would be much better in future installments if the author would address these simple issues so the book flows evenly. Excellent story line!

Conspiracy

I gave this book a 5 as it was an excellent story. The characters had distinct personalities which came through clearly. But there are many typos and the book needs editing. Also, I did not like the ending as it left questions which are only answered by buying the ext book.

A complex, suspenseful plot with tension so thick that it felt palpable. Wonderful characters with depth and substance. I was immediately drawn in and held captive from beginning to end.

I always enjoy Ms. Atwood's books. Her characters begin to feel like old friends. We get to know their strengths and weaknesses. The plot of this novel is so on target in today's world- immigration and corruption. I encourage readers to follow this series.

Sarah Cross is a bit harsh as a character but you grow to like her as the plot fits her character.
