When the virus breaks out, Dana Flannigan only wants to keep her son safe. She finds this almost impossible to do as people everywhere begin turning into mindless cannibals. There has to be somewhere safe they can go.

When Mike Powell starts his day, he ignores the morning news thinking it's another scam. A virus making people go insane is the least of his concerns. He has more important things to worry about.

Hannah doesn't know what to think when her parents suggest they play a game in the attic. She's never been allowed up there before, and the thought of going now freaks her out. The attic is dark and scary, especially at night.

These characters and more must fight for their lives, and not everyone can survive. It feels like the end, but the apocalypse has only just begun.

A great opening book for a promising series. Zombies have gone out of style for me, but EB managed to tell a fresh story. The characters were well done and realistic, with actual human emotion. A job well done and I look forward to the rest of the series.

Truth be told, I do NOT like zombie stories. But I am a huge E.B fan, so I read it, and you know what?!, she made me like a zombie story. I fought it, but she kept it interesting and fresh. It was fantastic, I shit you not. Read it, even if it's not your thing, she'll make it your thing.

Really good read. This was the first time reading E.B. Lunsford and won't be my last. I'll be the first to admit that zombies ain't really my thing but that being said this book was really awesome. There is zombies in this story but the characters and the writing are what makes this book awesome . I really can't wait for book 2 cuz I wanna know what's going to happen. For real read this because E.B is a really good story teller makes you get attached to the characters and I was left wanting more.
