One night. That’s all it takes to change everything.
Johannah’s vacation with her friends is meant to blow off steam, not fall into the pull of Jaxon Cristiano—the man with a reputation and walls no one dares to cross. But one look is all it takes. The spark. The hunger. The way his eyes pin her in place.
She doesn’t wait. She moves closer. Her hand brushes his, and suddenly the man who never lets anyone in wants more. Needs more.
Every glance between them is a challenge. Every word drips with temptation.
She should run, but something in his shadowed gaze pulls her closer. And she knows the moment she lets him in, there will be no turning back.
What happens when the untouchable man is the one she can’t resist?
C. R. Riley doesn’t believe in rules when it comes to romance. Her books are bold, emotional, and unapologetically steamy, spanning tropes like enemies to lovers, grumpy/sunshine, secret pasts, and forbidden attraction. What ties them all together? Deep emotional connection, crackling sexual tension, and characters who love like it’s the only thing keeping them alive.
Writing across sub-genres, C. R. thrives in the chaos of big emotions, tough choices, and the kind of love that doesn’t come easy—but always feels earned. Her goal is simple: give readers stories they feel in their chest and remember long after the final page.
Jaxon is an oddity and when he meets Joahannah his whole life will forever be changed. Johanne, Paige and Kendra are three secret service agents protecting the president and his family and they vacation on m islnd where theymeet three men who change their lives. Suspensful, nail biting, entertaining, steamy storythat will enthrall you from the beginning to the end!
Jaxon and Hannah are both uniquely in need of what the other person possesses. They are confident and successful career people whose personal relationships are so complicated that they had chosen to forego love altogether until they come together in a fated moment where they begin to find healing. There are bumps along the way for the pair but I promise you this book has a HEA. I like how Hannah made a decision about her sexuality and stuck to it despite her age and her friends - it's not common to find this in modern writing and it is refreshing. This story was truly unique in content - if you're looking for something a little different I would recommend this book. *I am voluntarily leaving this review after receiving a copy of the book.
Untouchable is one fantastic book. I love the way C.R. Riley incorporated real life issues into this story. I laughed so hard at times and had tears at other times. This book gives you all the feels and you cannot help but feel like you are in the story with them. I was pulled in right from the start and stayed there until the end. The way the side characters were built up gets you ready for the next couple of books. I love this part of the book and its not a feature you see in many books. I love how this book shows and explains difficulties within getting into a relationship as well as growing within the relationship. This book has twists and turns which is intriguing. I also love how Johannah is a strong character. I will definitely read more from this author. Absolute five stars Jaxon Jaxon Jaxon…. I love him. The way his character grows throughout the story is wonderful. I love when characters grow and learn so much about themselves as well as others. Having a rough past made a lot of things difficult for him but he was able to overcome and persevere. Johannah has a difficult job, and her career has always come first. Who needs a man when that’s not a part of the plan… yet? She’s a tough character and takes no bs. The friendship between Johannah and her best friends is priceless.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Untouchable is full of unexpected twists and turns, especially the ending. I totally had one thing in my head when something else completely happened. I loved it! Not many books get me like that. Johanna, a beautiful, very independent woman with a job that is high- demanding hours out with her two best friends only for her life to completely change. When a 'tall, dark, and handsome angel' (pg. 230) is sent to her for her birthday what could go wrong for her. Jaxon is tall, mysterious and broody to say the least. However there is so much more to him that meets the eye. He is all business all the time, cates for few people but so very loyal. What happens when he finds the one person who makes him feel?
The characters were wonderful together, the story was fun and something you can get into. I will say that even with the grammatical mistakes, it was still easy to read. It's why I did five stars and not for. I truly love how C.R. Riley developed the story, characters and situating. It never felt long or drawn out. Everything written was needed to know. Wonderful job!
"What are you doing for the rest of your life?" (Pg. 253)
This was my first book by this author and you never quite know what your going to get with new to you authors.I was not disappointed I thoroughly enjoyed reading Jaxon and Johannahs story. There was lots going on secret service agents a condition that your unable to be touched by the the main gentleman character.Independent ladies and much more. The main thing was a beautiful innocent love story unlike any other I've read.Highly recommended x
My first read by C.R. Riley, but definitely not my last!!! I’m kicking myself for taking so long to dive into this series because it’s now one of my favorites! Just the right combination of everything, including suspense (which is one of my favorite parts) and a romance that doesn’t come easy. I really liked how these two are each struggling inside, but don’t let it stop them from tackling life! A wonderful start to this series and I now can’t wait to read the next one! Highly recommended!!!
While I’m not a fan of long books, don’t shoot me I know many are. My brain is just wired to want to move on after 250 pages. I must say, I love everything I’ve read by this author. Despite the length. Can’t wait to read about Jo’s brothers.
This was my first read of C.R Riley and I absolutely devoured this book.
Thus book kept me hooked from the very beginning this story flowed so well and left me wanting to know more. I absolutely enjoyed this read. I read more darker romance but this was exactly what I needed I can't wait to read more of the Kohls family
What an amazing start to this series! I absolutely loved Johannah and Jaxon.
This story takes you in a unique journey of ups and downs and struggles not common to most couples. I love how Jaxon and Hannah each had such unique backgrounds and struggles. I truly loved seeing this couple get their HEA. I thought I knew what was coming, and then was pleasantly surprised with the twist that came next.
I also loved all of the side characters and can’t wait to see what the rest of this series entails.
I usually can figure out a *Who done it* but this one got me good. The romance was pretty good too. Not directing all the virgins in the book but hey, it was still a good read
Jaxon lives a secluded life with a very limited circle of close friends. He dedicates much of his time to his business which is one of the reasons he has become so successful. He is happy with his structured existence until he meets a girl who is like a comforting warmth he never realised he missed. Johanna has a somewhat regimented, but fulfilling job that keeps her from having much of a personal life. But she loves her work, and has very firm plans for her future. Will her chance meeting with the elusive Jaxon change her trajectory? I love the complexity of Jaxon. His backstory is well thought out and structured. His friends are a fun addition to the story. Johanna is a good strong character with a powerful job and I like that she doesn’t alter everything in her life for a man. I enjoyed the scenes with her family – great interactions. The faith aspect that pops up here and there doesn’t really feel necessary. I don't mind one way or the other, but the G word could turn away quite a few readers, especially in the romance genre. I find stories with a purity aspect are only believable up to a point. There is an age limit where that becomes unrealistic. Although in this case, Jaxon and his aversion to touch does allow it to seem more genuine. Perhaps if the characters were 20 it would feel more likely and conceivable. The story is well plotted and constructed. Another solid, clean, sweet romance from this author. If you like your romances on the delicate side check out her books.
Untouchable was awesome, I read so many romance novels that it amazes me when one jumps out at me. This one did. The story, the premise, the characters were all like a breath of fresh air.
Johannah along with her friends take a vacation to celebrate her birthday, annual tradition, but this year ends a little differently. While at a club one night Johannah and her 2 friends meet Jaxon and his 2 friends. And while the 2 friends in each party hit it off, Johannah doesn't understand Jaxon or his aloofness. She soon finds out but its nothing what she thought.... from there comes a story of Jaxon learning life does not have to be the way he thought, Johannah learning that sometimes original plans need to be thrown out the window for a guy like Jaxon and that not everything is as it seems sometimes. Johannah and Jaxon will not only find love and acceptance with each other but also a little bit of trouble by someone who they thought was in the past.
CR Riley did a amazing job with Johannah and Jaxon and their story, but also the secondary characters, and all of the acquaintances along the way. No one felt out of place or in the way. The story flowed well and left you wanting more from chapter 1. I honestly couldnt say enough about it.
DNF Dry dry dry. The writing in this book is so boring. There's no spark, no interest. It's like the author is trying so hard to write all of the details of a story out that she forgot the to put some heart into it.
The idea of this book turning into a romance is positively frightful. The first meeting of the two MCs is as far from heated as you can get. No tingles, no major interest.
The biggest factor is actually how not repelled by her that he is, and how hard to read and therefore intriguing he is to her. So boring, they could have been cousins meeting for the first time.
Granted I'm not giving this book a real go, but it's Sunday and my day off and I want to sink into a good book, not trudge through wondering if I'm even reading a romance. So hard pass for me
This is the story of Johannah and Jaxon. He has a small circle of friends and has a very structured lifestyle working all the time. This suits him well as he has issues with being touched. Johanna has a very high powered job that keeps her busy so her social life suffers. On a rare night out with her girlfriends, she meets Jaxon and they have an immediate connection. Can these two workaholics find time for a relationship? I enjoyed this romance. I received an arc of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is my first time reading something by this author. Full of suspense, drama, and romance, it will keep you hooked all the way through to the end. It has well-developed characters with likable and endearing qualities and an thrilling storyline. Johannah and Jaxon were a great couple and had wonderful chemistry. The plot was interesting and had some plot twists and turns that made this an interesting and intriguing story. I enjoyed it very much and am looking forward to reading more by this author!
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I really enjoyed this book. C. R. Riley is a great writer. I was quickly drawn into this story and couldn’t put it down. I love Jaxon. He’s sensitive and guarded. What seems like alpha behavior at first is really a protective wall for his heart. He’s absolutely delicious. He falls for his Hannah which is so out of character for him. She’s a badass but also soft inside like Jaxon. I’m so in love with their story that I’ve read it twice!
I really enjoyed this book. I am in awe of the secret service and what they do everyday. Also, I’ve never heard of Jaxon’s phobia that he’s had to live with. Johanna is one tough chick who knows what she wants. This is a really beautiful love story. I really liked the suspense aspect of the story and the great supporting characters in the story.
This book was full of drama and suspense, while the twists and turns will keep the pages turning to find out what happens next. Johannah & Jaxon’s story had romance, chemistry, and was interesting and intriguing. Nothing like I had read before. This was my first book by C.R.Riley, but certainly will not be the last. I thoroughly enjoyed this story and look forward to reading more soon.
I loved this story, it was incredible. The strong and determined johanna meets the equally strong and determined Jaxon, but both have their weaknesses and yet both compliment the other, finding ways to be together. The love they share is undeniable and the strength they both possess to move forward is captivating.
Terrible. The whole "I'm a Christian so I'll wait until marriage to have sex" is bullshit in this genre. I'm not reading this to be told how God wants me to live my sexuality because I have "self respect" and I'm "virtuous". Bullshit.
I really enjoyed this book. Jaxon was a unique character and I just loved him. The story was great, kept me interested throughout. A highly recommended read.
Johannah Kohl holds her own professionally, not having bothered with a personal relationship in years. Most men don’t like the competition for her attention with her job.
Jaxon Cristiano believes himself cursed, focusing on the professional aspects of his life since he can’t stand the touches that come from personal connections.
A chance meeting on an island has both of them thinking of more. Thrown together in a series of incidents, they need to figure out what’s going on before it’s too late - for their lives or their relationship.
CR Riley spins a story that takes you to the nation’s capital, weaving intrigue and interest together in a tale of attraction and investigation. Add in quirky side characters, playful banter, and moments I found myself smiling as Hannah and Jax find out the truth and each other in the process.
So much potential with the main characters additional needs/condition but so problematic in all other areas. Bossy alpha males who think they can tell the women what to do. commenting on swimwear and if it covers more skin and being modest equals more attractive. Yuck pass me the sick bowl. I can’t cope with PoVs like this...
This book was a trip. It was like waking up to an alternative world that lives inside the imagination of a good Christian girl where 30 year old virgins is a real thing. The connection between jo and Jaxon was good and the issues around his syndrome were done well but it felt far fetched. Christian erotica is a weird and new discovery.
