This is a sweet and sexy romance between Rachelle and Carson. What starts as a one night stand turns into so much more. Sparks fly at first meet but is it enough to keep them together? The author does a great job developing their story and painting her scenes perfectly. It's well written ,moves quickly and smoothly and is an enjoyable read.

When you go on vacation to regroup, and find a man who captures your soul. Quanesha Rochelle Montgomery is focused. She is able to adjust on her goal path, but sometimes you need to chart a new path. Her best friend Daiya is straightlaced and smart enough to appreciate Quanie. Carson Wellington III, is driven focused and after 5 years inheriting the business from his Dad, ready. His Mom, of course is looking for grandbabies. He is focused on keeping the family business profitable and taking it further than his Dad. Quanie decides she and Daiya need to go to NYC, for some fun. But, her boss still insists she handle her job. Carson is on an inspection tour with his assistant, Merrilyn. Quanie meets Carson looking for the business center and asks him for directions. They have a conversation as if they had been friends for years. Will they put their baggage down and start a relationship? Will Quanie find a solution to her job issues? Will Carson do well with his conference? Is Quanie ready to stop having fun and start a relationship? Nice story. There were a few jumps that confused the context, but still a good story. Nicely done. Code switching romance

This story had so many parts in it that every black woman could relate to! So Quanesha has dream to be a writer in Hollywood. Unfortunately her name gets her resume looked over so she starts going by her middle name Rachelle. After working at her job as an assistant for years and not moving up she decides to take a month long vacation to NY. While there she meets Carson a billionaire workaholic. Their whirlwind romance was fun to read and super hot! He helped her see that Quanesha didn't need to disappear for her to get what she dreamed of. She showed him that there is more to life than work and he had a great team he could trust. Great read

GROWN AND SEXY FOR CHRISTMAS

This bwwm was just what this girl needed for the holiday. There was only so much that Quanie could take from the world she had to play real life in while out in LA. She was tired of not living her dream. She was tired of paying for the mistake she made years ago. She was tired. She decided that this year her and her friend/sister need to have a holiday vacation that was something different for them both. Running into the sexy Carson was not on her radar. She did what she could to stay away from the man she thought ghosted her. Then she was blindsided by what the holidays had in store for her and her sister from another mother.

This is a Christmas story that rivals those Hallmark stories.
Quanesha is in LA trying to fulfill her dreams, but when no one sees your dream it brings you down.
Carson knows he wants it all but right now he's married to his career. He'll know when he meets "the one".
These two have a chance meeting and the attraction us immediate. But attraction does not make a relationship. And while he gets her can she just give up on her dreams?
When you meet the one they make you a better person and the heal the part of you, you may not gave realized needed healing.
This author never disappoints.

A great story. Quanesha - Rachelle and Carson meet by accident in his hotel. They are immediately attracted to each other but both are too busy to act on the attraction until a dare is put in place by Quanesha's BFF, Daiya. It is now game on. What starts as a one night stand turns into something else. Quanesha is at a cross roads in her life and needs to decide on her path to travel. Will Carson convince her to travel with him or will her dreams win her over?

Her unsanctioned holiday vacation gets off to a good start when she meets Carson Wellington in the Business Center of his hotel. They have a great conversation and the chemistry is obvious. When days pass with neither hide nor hair of Carson, she decides it was all in her head. One night at dinner with Daiya, Rachelle issues a dare that changes both of their lives and makes it an end of the year neither will soon forget. Recommended: Read It!

Fun, steamy read. Sassy, upfront characters have some fun times exploring. Cupid is quick, they have chemistry and he is very romantic but they have some rethinking to manage. I love that they are grown and also love the true friendship that the "girls" share. Throwing caution to the wind and taking a chance on NYC was a great choice since I visited there and live very close to Raleigh, I could relate and picture the scenery. The magic of Christmas is in the air, all these emotions mixed in with some humor made this a trip worth reminiscing as reading.

It's been a while since I've read a book from this author. I loved the first person point of view of the story, which is a deal breaker for me. Rachelle and Carson were amazing. I liked Rachelle very much and how she dealt with the things thrown her way.

This was the best Christmas Novella that I have read in a long time. I love how the author talked about the other couple in the story. Can’t wait to read about that couple with the other authors. Love love this one. This is definitely a reread again book.

Living on two different coast

Carson Wellington and Quanesha Rachelle Montgomery fell for each other when they first met at the Wellington Hotel in NYC. Quanie was different from the rotation women he usually had. never dated the same woman twice in one year. Quanie was spontaneous, beautiful, smart, and funny. She was a challenge to Carson because she knew what she wanted in life, and that was to write for her TV production company but she was just an assistant to her B.A.B. (beotch a$$ boss) whom she unknowingly made the ultimate mistake with. Carson wanted her to fulfill her writing dreams but he did not want to lose her. Her going back to L.A. was not an option for him until he realized he had to do some billionaire shyte to get his lady back and that's what he did. He had to find a way to make it work.

This was a sweet read. Carson wasn't looking for love, but he knew it when he saw Quanesha. Quanie had things she had to work out in her personal life. She suppressed her Quanie personality at work and allowed her Rachelle personality to flourish at work. With Carson, she learned how to love and expose her Quanesha side all the time.

I really enjoyed this contemporary holiday romance! It covers a range of emotions and situations. Like a Hallmark movie it has a touch of billionaire meets working girl but it's more than that. Rachelle is a woman at a crossroads, disillusioned in L.A., looking for a plan B. A girl's trip to New York puts her in the path of Carson, a workaholic, who finds her intriguing. Will they be brave enough to go on all in with each other? Told is dual POV, this sensuous short is full of realistic details, romantic gestures, bold moves and does a good job explaining code-switching. Many funny and quotable moments - my fave "challenges are God's way of sharpening your gifts". That's something I'll be taking with me into the new year, along with the warm fuzzies from "Grown and Sexy Christmas". Another hit from Ja'nese Dixon!

It was an absolutely amazing and fun read!

I loved everything about this book! Carson and Quanesha had me go hooked right from the very moment they made eye contact. The chemistry, passion, wild and fun shenanigans that happened between these two made this book such a pleasure to read. Imagine finding the right place to write your manuscript as well as finding the love of your life in NY around Christmas. They say dreams are made of in the concrete jungle. After reading Carson and Quanesha's love journey, I would have said that for this couple that was most definitely true.

If you're looking for a sexy, sassy, funny, and with a little drama added in kind of Christmas love story, I would highly recommend this book. It is a love story that should not be missed.

All I Want For Christmas Is…

I just finished “Something Different for Christmas” by Danyelle Scroggins which introduces us to Daiya and Quanie, along with Pierce and Carson! So glad I met Quanie before reading her story!! It helped to understand her better and the sisterhood before the two ladies!!

This story covered a lot of different facets of Quanesha which helped to understand who she was and why!! I laughed and yelled out loud at both Quanie and Carson! I definitely enjoyed this story and highly recommend you reading it! It will definitely make you want to find your own Grown and Sexy Love!! Kudos, Ja’Nese!! 💜

Quanie is feeling disillusioned and unappreciated with her career and she is beginning to doubt if she will ever reach her dreams. A trip with her friends could be what she needs to refocus but Carson was a complication she wasn’t expecting.

Carson manages the family business and that is the driving force in his life and everything else comes second. When he meets Quanie he knows that she is special but will they be able to turn their one night into forever or will their different visions for the future derail them before they really begin?

I enjoyed watching the relationship between Quanie and Carson unfold as they realize that with love anything is possible.

I loved this story. This cute little Christmas novella had me wishing for my own Hallmark HEA.
Quanie is an amazing woman, both as Quanesha and Rachelle, and does what she needs to survive in Hollywood while following her dream of becoming a Script writer.
Her escape to NY brings her face to face with Carson who is in deep with work during the whole month.
The meet cute and the way they grew with one another was truly inspiriging.
Their chemistry is just wow.
