From Romance author, Sadie Stuart comes a raw, emotional love story about how fate can both tie us together…and rip us apart
Two souls from opposite sides of this city. We should have never met. If it weren’t for my sleepless nights, we would have never crossed paths. My quirky, beautiful girl.My light. My Everything. I know exactly what I am. Half-exciting, half-broken. A fire out of control. I’m not for her. But she’s the song I need to play. The note I need to hear. The music I want to hear forever in my head. And she doesn’t even know it.
I like my little life exactly the way it is…Nice and Safe. Probably too safe. I have good parents, an awesome best friend, and a dead-end job. Well, that last part…maybe isn’t so great, but it’s all mine. What I didn’t plan on is seeing him that night. He wasn’t supposed to walk into my life, to upend it all. And I really shouldn’t have let him in, stayed, accepted his offer. But there’s something about him, something more. He’s different, and…that’s the problem. I just can’t stay away.
Uncaged Heart is book one in the Stone Cold Hearts series. It is a complete standalone, dark, bad boy, billionaire rockstar romance with both humor and contemporary dark issues…just like in real life, only with our much beloved Happily Ever After.
The cover got my attention as well as the blurb - which was beautifully written. I managed to finish the story, after a lot of struggling and plenty of dnf thoughts...
The writing was really beautiful!!! But the plot was developing with a very slow pace that I was finding hard to follow and connect with the characters.
Story and Cage were unconventional characters dealing with serious issues. I couldn’t associate with Story’s personality and attitude at all!!! Despite what she had been through, she was disheartened, unreachable, surrounded by a depressive aura, and her push-and-pull behaviour towards Cage was exhausting.
The twist before the end came out of nowhere and it was not so believable nor well blended.
Apparently this story was not for me in the least, it didn’t bring out strong emotions and I am really proud of myself that I found the strength to read it to the end.
It would have been nice if there was a specific warning regarding Cage’s issues... If I had known I wouldn’t have read this book.
the only reason I finished this was because it was short..
…that being said it was too long.
Honestly there was too much inner monologue for both characters and pointless conversations with side characters. There was no actual relationship building moments other than sexual tension and Cage being an obsessed stalker. Cage and Story shared no conversations of substance. There was too much time spent building their back stories and no time building their relationship. I’m not even going to dive into the random drama moments and the fact that Cage literally never commits to work on himself and is still a massive problem. Also, way too many grammatical errors and wrong words used throughout. I get this is a brutal review, but damn this book made me feel cheated. Like I wasted time reading all that for that to be the ending…? That’s it?
Hi! It’s me again. Yeah I started the year with a 1-star book :) So here’s my thoughts about it.
I read it on my iPad so I took notes in the Kindle app and also highlighted parts.
So my first thought was it was written somehow about a 2014 tumblr girl. Also her name was Story, because her parents were “hippies”, however she visited them a lot we never actually read a conversation with them. And also it gave me a little bit Wattpad vibes. With the I quote “I hardly ever got asked out. I’m pretty sure I had the record for friend-zoning in college.” And than ON THE SAME PAGE a guy potentially asked her out. And then a hot rockstar drummer just always wanted to talk to her. Yeah pretty normal. Actually normal for y/n. Aside the two main characters never actually had a deep conversation (also Story didn’t know Cage’s name). But my first ick came when Story and her best friend went to a concert and Story went to the bathroom, but the line was too long so she went to the men’s bathroom. LIKE WHAT??? It isn’t like assult or at least very inappropreate? And also who do this? And ofc they met in the bathroom and Story ran away. And after that Cage asked her out while we didn’t even know whats his last name. (Don’t bother to ask Story’s last name, because that was never mentiones.) After that Cage do the “iconic” scene where he in purpose floded Story’s apartment so she had to live with her. But I don’t know it didn’t really do it for me. Like usually the two character knew each other in part where they do it or they have a fake relationship. But it wasn’t like that. After a big plot twist we knew why this happened, but idk I still have weird feelings. The second half of the book feels like it is a totally different book from the first part. It turns into a really weird CoHo book vibes and with “huge” plot twists, but idk they actually were never mentioned earlier from the girl and I didn’t felt that she had anykind of trauma so yeah. Also after her story it was very predictable what will be the next one. And also as a really true to a CoHo book the guy didn’t grovel enough for what he did. But the part that make me really gave 1 star was that in the last chapter Story just mention half of the things what Cage did and she imediatly forgave him. LATER. Not when she was angry, but more than a year later. And she was okay with it. The only thing that I liked was that it represented somekind of mental illnes, but I would love that I would have got a warning that it would be in the story. I knew it would ruin the plot twist, but I think some people would be triggered by it. I know they should check before reading, but hey most people (including myself) are lazy to do that.
this was alright. there’s quite a bit of things to discuss within the book but i feel like the plot just escalated at the end, without the characters communicating a lot of their fears and concerns.
The female main character was so annoyingly frustrating. The basic back in forth I like him I don’t but amplified to the point of cringey. The male main character’s angst was a bit more believable. But the “twist” that tied it all together at the end was really weak. I caught myself rolling my eyes or saying “seriously?” Too many times throughout the book. And I don’t know if this is a kindle unlimited issue but there were a TON of typos throughout.
Spoilers - Sometimes after reading a series and being fully engaged in that world you’ll need a good pallet cleanser to get that story/world out of your mind. And this is definitely that. Books like these remind me of reading fanfic on AO3 back in the day. You expect a few spelling/grammar mistakes, not the greatest storyline or pacing. (Not to say all writing on there is shitty. I’ve read some that are some of the best works of art I’ve ever read. AO3 is not synonymous with shitty writing) These characters were both so frustrating and needed to get their shit together lmao this was an unhealthy relationship from the start - he stalked her and attached himself to her without even knowing her and put pressure on her to help him manage his bipolar. And then when she clearly put up a boundary and left him he STALKED HER AGAIN! Like this guy is nuts and pretty much controlled her life for a year in the shadows. She has some deep seated issues from her twin sisters death and I can’t see the correlation between her sister dying and her now not allowing herself to love??? Doesn’t make sense but I guess grief does crazy things to you. This was a rather disorganized story but entertaining enough since I finished it lol it was all rushed at the end and very anticlimactic
This is the first book I've ever read by Sadie Stuart, and I am so glad I gave it a chance! I am beyond impressed with Sadie's writing style and storytelling! This was an incredibly well-written and well thought-out novel, and although it was a pretty quick read, the story didn't seem rushed at all. I love the typical rockstar trope, but this one had some very realistic and believable qualities to it. I loved it so much that I've already downloaded another one of Sadie's books from a different series (Masters of the City). I cannot wait to read book 2 in the Stone Cold Hearts series. Needless to say, Uncaged Heart is highly recommended!

Nope nope nope. I dislike this book so much. I liked the beginning though cage is kind of creepy. I have read mafia books where they stalk the girl and I liked it but this book. Something about it the way it was written idk but it comes off as creepy. I hated the plot with her sister. Without it the book would have been a million times better. The book was all over the place which might align with the bipolar topic in the book but I disliked it. Not a fan. Would not recommend. I really wanted to read the second book but decided to read this first after seeing some recommendations but now I don’t know if I will read it. This book was not good for me at all. 2/5
I had not read this author before, but I will be getting more from her if this is any indication of this authors talent! I absolutely fell in love with these characters and the fact that they have been through so much and then the interaction between the characters was expressed so eloquently. Being as this is my first story by Miss Stuart I will absolutely say that it will definitely not be my last read from her.

This is the story of Story and Cage. This is a great book, although I think Story started off as man hater. They are both flawed and have past baggage. I did like the way they connected. I thought the story flowed well and was well written. The angst was there and this was a just wow story. I hope there is more.

This was my first read from this author. I loved the first person point of view of the story, which is a deal breaker for me. This was an incredible story and I am very glad that I picked it up. It pulls you in from the start, because it's had depth from the very first paragraph. I will read more from this author in the future.

This is such a special story. Cage and story have a very hurtful past and the way the entire healing process occurs in this book is beautiful. This book is an intense read. The romance between the two is angsty. The entire aspect of mental health issue is handled very well. I loved this book through and through

This is my absolute favourite genre rockstars, bands etc and I was amazed and I fell in love with the characters and this story was very realistic, entertaining and sometimes the characters frustrated the hell out of me but in the end I loved the both of them and their chemistry was 🔥. Sorry guys no spoilers but this is an amazing story and I can’t wait to read book 2 and I definitely recommend this book.
umm first off the writing was just straight up trash im sorry. and like what happened in this story? was there a plot? there was so much stuff in this book that didn't make sense or was just portrayed horribly. when she learns that Cage is bipolar she says she doesn't want to be around a "crazy" bipolar guy which is just straight up rude to say. but then we learn her sister is bipolar so like, huh?
I saw a TikTok for this book and was intrigued. However, this book left me with so much disappointment. The characters were underdeveloped and honestly, the writing didn’t make a lot of sense. Both of the main characters had issues, but I felt like the book only touched the surface. The story didn’t go anywhere and I only finished it because it was short.
I went into this blindly and didn’t read the reviews until after I finished. I’m glad I got this book out of the way.
This was a DNF for me. The relationship between the 2 main characters was strange and it developed way too quickly. I honestly got a stalker vibe from Cage. I also didn't understand the main character's thought process or the lack of one. I really wanted to like it since I seen it on tiktok but was only able to read about 27%.
1.5* the main characters had very little actual conversation, conversation about their life or hobbies or anything. the side characters were almost non-existent, the book wouldn't change that much if they weren't there. also somehow, everything moved incredibly slow but also fast at the same time. the plot dragged on but then the last 2, 3 chapters concluded everything very quickly.
I loved the concept of this story, but it was rushed and I felt the paragraphs were way too long. The author tried to give Story “deep” thoughts, but it felt like rambling. That’s all that was happening: nonsense and rambling. There was not depth to the story. It was just rushed. I couldn’t finish it and I’m not sorry.
Definitely enjoyed this whirlwind story. There were a few minor typo's but easily understandable of what the word should've been. I loved the inner war Story struggled with in finding love and the war Cage struggled with in finding the best path for him to be who Story needed.
DNF.... Almost halfway through but can't get myself to keep reading. It feels so forced. "It says here he's bipolar" was the line that made me close it. Huge eye-roll at that. I'm also all for dark romance and darker topics, but the stalker aspect in this isn't giving dark romance - it's just creepy.
I read this book because I saw it on tik tok but I now regret it. It dragged on forever and focused on mental health way too much. Now mental health is no joke but it seems like that was the excuses for not perusing a relationship together. I do not recommend
I don’t offer rate books one star, but this book was kinda terrible. From the stalking to the continual toxic relationship. I only finished it to see how it would have ended and I wish I didn’t waste my time reading this book. Be warned.
I wanted to like this book but just couldn't. The story between the two main characters was buried in a bunch if useless information most of the time making it hard to read and enjoy. I am one and done here.
I couldn't finish reading it because it literally hurt my eyes. How many times will the main character move in with a guy and then run away? after the 4th or 5th time it got horribly boring and I started to wonder if she was bipolar and not him🤷🏻♀️

I was not feeling this book at all in the beginning, then when I realized it was dual pov it started to get a little better. But it was so rushed and it’s focused on only certain details I couldn’t get into it.
