Awakened Magic

Rate this book
“I didn't start this fight, but I'm sure as hell going to end it.”

This fight against Vykens has to end.

There’s been too many deaths, too many betrayals.

I won’t let anyone else I care about get hurt.

All I have to do is find and destroy the Shadow—the ultimate source of dark power.

There’s only one massive problem.

To rid the world of the ancient entity and save my kind, I must use every last drop of my Light against it.

But doing that will kill me.

Am I ready to make that sacrifice?

Born at the stroke of midnight, Raven Steele grew up in a home bordering a graveyard as old as time. Ghosts became her only friends and whispered tales of a world that existed between night and day. In this place, monsters roamed the lands, magic curled in the wind, and good and evil fought over the hearts and minds of humans. Desperate to not let those dark and brave creatures be forgotten, Raven wrote down the words of the ghosts, knowing their stories of triumph and sorrow would give strength and comfort to those in our world.

And so, when the sun sets, Raven retreats to the cemetery at the edge of the woods, where she sits and listens to the dead speak their tales of Rouen and all of its inhabitants. Because one day, our two worlds may collide, and when they do, we must be ready. For when their darkness bleeds into ours, we will be fighting for more than our lives. We will be battling for our souls.

Raven Steele is a pen name to USA Today's bestselling author Rachel McClellan.

This book will captivate you from start to end. Mystery, adventure, action, and even tears. You will not want to put it down. My heart is still reeling. WE have new characters and a different type of fight. Can Llona save her Aunt and the others? Why won't the counsel help? What are these feelings she is having for Liam? Who is the one that Charlie is talking about? What will May do when she sees her day? Will Llona live through the fight? Can she convince the other Auras to fight with their light? I received a free copy for my honest review.

I voluntarily reviewed a copy of "AWAKEN MAGIC" OMG!!!! What a rollercoaster ride full of action, suspense, intrigue, betrayal, twists that have you turning page after page so addicting from beginning to end.
Llona know the Auras at Lucient Academy need to be taught how to use their light because Cyrus & the Shadow need to stopped before it's to late & the Vykens overrun the school using the Auras to feed giving them strength or turning them into Vykens.
Liam & Llona grow closer she knows she's probably the only one to stop the shadow the last Auras who tried lost her life will she make the same decision sacrifice her life for everyone else so many surprises & who is the mole at the Academy you have to get this book to see what happens so looking forward to book #4 "HEALING MAGIC"

Llona knows the Auras at Lucent Academy can be taught to fight using their Light. Convincing them of that is another story. Cyrus and the Shadow must be stopped before he and his vykens overrun the school and take Auras to use some as "feeders" and some to be turned. The only other Aura to trap the Shadow died for her efforts. Will that be Llona's fate as well? Fast paced action, with a hint of horror, betrayal, and love kept me reading through to the end. I received a complimentary copy and freely give my honest review.

Amazing. As with all Raven Steele's books, they get better and better as the series goes on but even after reading the first book you don't think it can possibly get better! Definitely the best author in the world!
With Liam and Llona growing closer, the threats, betrayals and mystery continue to threaten the auran population. They finally find a way of defeating Cyrus and the Shadow but at what cost? Throw in some major twists and this is one back of a ride.

Llona is back and so is the action, danger, betrayal, and fight for survival and life. Llona is an amazing character and what she has to face is amazing. I loved seeing how she would overcome it all. New and old foes show up and kept me glued to the end to see how it would end and what craziness Llona would have to overcome. Just a great story in this series that entertained me. I laughed and groaned throughout it all.

A great continuation of this storyline, I think this was my favorite of the Born of Light books so far. Most loose ends tied up and on to a new adventure with a change of scenery! Llona is such a strong lead and I adore her group of girlfriends. Looking forward to some girl time in the next book. :)

Nothing seemed to stop the evil, everyone's life was in danger and Llona knew that in the end she would have to decide what to do. Exciting scenes, the betrayal escalated, too much to worry about and I didn't know what to expect. Legions of foes! Liked the intensity of the story, the action, the suspense, the unexpected and there's still more.

Bursting with superhero worthy scenes

This book is jam packed with action! Captures, rescues, war, and love. The one constant is Llona doing what she thinks is right. No matter what anyone says. Their are also a lot of betrayals that you won't see coming! I keep saying this one is my favorite, since the last book. However, I have changed my mind. I loved the action in this one.

A quote for our times: "But what's left? Hope for the future."
Once again, the good fight with Llona, amidst the intrigue and "us and them", and them, and them. Love, both bitter and sweet. Not a book you put down until the end. More to come! Yeah!

Hmmm

What can I say about this? A couple of twists I had figured out long before they happened and a couple I didn't see coming. So many emotional twists and turns that you might need to have some tissues handy.

The twists and turns keep me addicted to this saga. Who is the traitor? Can Christian be saved? Will May recover from her fathers abuse?

I received an arc and the views and opinions are my own. This was a fabulous book, I could not put it down and read until the early morning hours. From the beginning to the end it held your attention and made you want to keep reading. I was sorry it ended. There are a lot of surprises and there is a mole at the academy. I would recommend this book and series to all who love the paranormal. Cannot wait for the next book.
