Originally, the story started out well though the progress is extremely slow. It took few hundred chapters just to complete one plot and then it is extended to the next one. The numbers of enemy grew whereas the dead can be counted less than 5. It's also appalling when an 8 years old plotting murder on another due to jealousy and the family helping her out. How diabolic is it?

FL character is very difficult to like compared to ML. When she was transmigrated, everything about her seems to be contradictory to her past life though her brain functions extremely well under duress. I found that it didn't rivaled her assassin life back then. She seems more dumb and naive rather than genius. Maybe due to the integration with the original body. FL remains 13/14. However, at times she behaved way above that u forgot her original age before transmigration.

Isn't assassin suppose to have an acute sense of danger and sharp perception on people? They can act in any given circumstances? They knew when to release and kill? Its upsetting when she can't even pretend while in disguise. She even let go of her enemy only for them to retaliate again and again. Her friends are not helpful at all apart from adding more harm to her. She is slow to react at times. 😅

It seems that FL character is over rated as people around her, be it foes or friends, are simply just stupid or strong. Her friends only quality are that they are utterly loyal to her. They are easily triggered. Worse they didnt even know that they are harming her. FL prefers to be low key but some people simply could not restrained information on what they knew of her.
(Spoiler : Especially Duan Chaoge. Dont know when to back down depending on situation. Only knows how to pummel people whenever FL was wronged by others. Plus, she will revealed what FL trying to cover when angered. She has loose mouth. The most hated person in this book that I ever encounter. Loud, extremely vocal and violent. After her strength improves, she even looked down upon others who are weaker than her except those whom are close or polite to her. Evil characters are meant to incite our anger or being hated. But Duan Chaoge is another level of goodness vs evil that I'm totally against. Its good to be loyal but not being totally stupid. She could not even gauged situations or enemies strength as she knew that if she can't handle it she could always hide behind FL eventhough it would definitely injured her friend. The reason being she idolise FL to the point of Goddess will never die or be defeated. She revealed secrets not once, twice or thrice..hell!!! FL is fine with it. Gritting my teeth here. Its all the time..FL is better off without her or maybe simply keep things to herself. This character seriously invite troubles and expects FL to solve it for her. 🤬 Don't worry. FL rectify her shortcomings later on but u have to wait for few thousands chapters for it to happen.)

The antagonists are mostly beautiful, strong and vicious. Their only focus was just to malign and plotting against her just because they are envious of her beauty, intelligence, strength and her relationship with ML. The real antagonist had yet to make an appearance (reading at 2300+ chapters). However, she kept sending assassins. Haish...With the whole subplots brewing, I think, both friends and foes, are just decorations to make the FL looks good in every way.

I disliked ML initially. No..Actually, I hated him to the point of craving his death for the way he treated FL. His attitude frustrated me and the misunderstanding between FL and ML is really exhausting. Even up to 2000+ chapters, there is not much improvement in their relationship except that ML finally soften towards her. FL took advantage of him just to complete her purpose and mission all the time. If I am hoping for romance to bloom between them initially, I've been utterly let down especially when its only left with 100 plus chapters to Finale. However, author didn't dissappoint us. Author still gave me a meagre of hope to see it happening. The 2nd last chapter. 😏

FL said she rather die than not curing her master. For a genius having a spatial space, she forgot, if she died, everything died along with her. Her master is in her space. And most of the time she is clueless. She saw goodness and evilness in people but she never see anything good about ML just because she was bullied by him.

I kind of having a love hate relationship with this book. Its hard for me to adore FL character. Even those from Imperial family didn't impress me. King is ruled by the nether region and extremely bias, albeit he is strong, he didn't know that he was being plotted by the people around him. 😡 But hey, it didn't stop me from continuing my reading and abhor almost every character. Even so, I have to applaud the evil antagonists, at least they are more honest. 😅😅

The lower boundary took 3/4 of the story before going to Main Land in China. Suddenly non existence father made a comeback and small part at it. Her Tiger pet role seems almost non existence. The ending is a bit rush with not knowing what happened to the rest of the enemy especially the Eldest Princess and Queen Dugu. And the back story of Jun Linyuan didnt explain much. I wonder if there are any other sequel to the book as there seems to be no closure to all these.

This book is one of my favorites! Feng Wu is my favorite character. She’s amazing in what (to me) is a quite believable way. Something I love about this book is that ALL the characters have a chance to suffer and the tables turn quite rapidly. It’s very fun to watch.

Would anyone believe me if I said I read this because I wanted to watch the live adaptation? I wouldn’t either, but it’s true! I found the idea of the live adaptation to be very interesting, so when I found out it was based on a book I felt like I had to read it.

I regret it immensely.

First thing’s first: All characters in general are very unlikable. I HATE Feng Xun with such a burning passion. Like… when all Feng Wu wanted was to be left alone and train her cultivation, and she straight up tells him numerous times to leave when they’re at the Feng Manor but he’s just there going ”You two-faced woman! I knew you liked Jun Linyuan! If you wanted us to stay, you should’ve just said so!” OR when Feng Wu wanted to catch the abnormal flame and tries to get her out of the volcano and says ”You’re upset because Boss Jun didn’t save you and now you want to commit suicide.”LIKE FUCK OFF! I never wanted to crawl into my phone and beat the shit out of someone more than I do with Feng Xun. I don’t know if Su Xiao Nuan intentionally wanted the readers to hate him, but they definitely succeeded if that was the case! Upon learning of Jun Linyuan’s crush on Feng Wu, he doesn’t even become tolerable, which you would’ve hoped! He’s just… nah… I’m glad he had less appearances in the second half, but man he made me want to tear the hair from my scalp for the entire story.

Feng Wu is overpowered as hell, and it’s not a compliment. She seems to know everything about anything and it makes everyone else look like a dumbass. Everyone’s IQ levels are on the floor whilst Feng Wu’s exceed to the freaking sky. The addition of her being from the 21st century barely made any difference at all. Every time they mention her being a secret agent in her past life or something along those lines I’m like ”Oh? Word?” and then never think about it again. It could’ve easily been removed and nothing would’ve changed. She’s so intolerable that it makes me want to scream. I wanted to punch and strangle and send her to the fucking slaughter every time she responded with ”Do you really wanna know?” whenever someone asked her a question. LIKE NO FUCKING SHIT, THEY ASKED YOU A QUESTION FOR A REASON!

The only one I would say is relatively on Feng Wu’s level would be Jun Linyuan, but that isn’t surprising considering he’s the love interest. He’s a shit love interest, for that matter. He’s just… hella creepy. He’s clever and extremely cunning, but he outright exploits Feng Wu to entertain his own desires. The amount of non-consensual kisses he initiated with Feng Wu because he thought that was what she wanted — courtesy of Feng Xun feeding him lies (fuck you, man) — just gave me rapist vibes. He’s excusing his predatory behaviour by — literally and figuratively — blaming it on Feng Wu. He disrespects her all the time and gets angry for the smallest of reasons; like when Feng Wu tells him to let go of her hand on multiple occasions but he just grabs it tighter. His possessiveness was infuriating and I cannot, for the life of me, understand how someone could ever fall in love with him. There was literally nothing to love. His downright denial of being in love with Feng Wu for the majority of the story was also so tiring and it made the entire book in itself feel incredibly repetitive. If I wasn’t hating on Feng Xun, Jun Linyuan took the freaking cake.

Every other woman being jealous of Feng Wu’s beauty or that she might be in love with Jun Linyuan was incredibly annoying. It often led to situations that just dragged the story on. Like when Feng Liu abandoned Feng Wu and her carriage to be attacked by the wolves and we have to read like 20 chapters of how she managed to defeat them against all odds. The hatred women in general had towards Feng Wu was so unjustified in the beginning (except Feng Liu in the end. I, too, would hate Feng Wu if she made me have sex with my brother and bear his child because abortion was too risky). The only time I felt it was justified was when Feng Wu would be a little shit back to them. Most of the time, however, the women have already been mean to her before she responds, which gives the impression of Feng Wu’s shitty personality in turn being ”justified.” The author makes it seem like people’s critique of Feng Wu is bad, but if any of us were in their situations we too would’ve doubted her abilities. In the real world, no one is that capable of anything and her overpoweredness seems like a fucking joke.

Also… authors, don’t write ”hahahaha” when a character laughs. Jesus christ the amount of times characters laughed at Feng Wu and the laugh was written in dialogue… why?

Yu Mingye was the only character I felt like I could tolerate. All he wanted was to find the Ugly Girl, and him fawning over both her and Feng Wu (without knowing they’re the same person) was actually enjoyable. He even leaves when Feng Wu tells him to! (Feng Xun, I’m coming for your kneecaps) It’s a shame he was only present for like a quarter of the actual story, but every chapter he was in felt like a breath of fresh air. Especially when the ”romance” between Feng Wu and Jun Lonyuan was taking root and I wanted to gouge my eyes out.

The story was mediocrely written. Not the best descriptions. I don’t know if that is because of translation issues or if the story was just written like that to begin with. It wasn’t hard to read, which is alright, but I would’ve enjoyed having more of the landscape described rather than reading the reasons why Feng Wu and Jun Linyuan were considered beautiful a million times. We get it: Jun Linyuan has mesmerising eyes that shine like crescent moons and Feng Wu has a teeny tiny little waist that he can wrap his entire hand around.

The entire level-up system for cultivators was a shit show. Spiritual Master, Elder, Lord, whatever. Those titles meant literally nothing when Feng Wu was fighting people. She could be a Level 2 something but defeat someone who was a whole stage above her and shock everyone because of it. And the ludicrous amount of times she had these ”breakthroughs” and levelled up were INSANE. No fucking shit no one believed her when she went from a Level 4 Spiritual Elder to a Level 7 in literally 1 day. The whole thing made zero sense!

The story relied too heavily on ”cliffhangers” (they just cut off a sentence in the middle) by the end of every chapter to keep people somewhat interested. Didn’t work.

And for the life of me… I didn’t want to read Feng Yiran’s reaction after he realised he had sex with his sister, and I would’ve spared so many angry tears if I didn’t know what went on inside Feng Xun’s head. Although I question her morals (girl literally had someone believe she cut their tongue because they insulted her), having a limited view from Feng Wu’s perspective would’ve been far better than whatever GODLY EMPRESS DOCTOR gave us. Especially with the godawful slowburn of a romance between her and Jun Linyuan. Knowing what Jun Linyuan actually thought of Feng Wu all the time and all the actions he misinterpreted Feng Wu doing just drove me nuts .

The ludicrous amount of storylines was also so incredibly confusing and made no sense. It just filled the entire story with a great amount of plotholes that were never resolved. Adding more characters we’ve never heard of before to the mix and giving them weird backstories; if they’re a woman they were given reasons to hate Feng Wu, but if they were a man they were given reasons why they wanted to marry her. It was a repetitive nightmare.

It also felt like Feng Wu’s priorities after getting to the Imperial Capital were all over the place. She just stops searching for her kidnapped brother after the Little Phoenix tells her that she has to find five tiny little stars to awaken her master? I understand that Feng Wu’s goal the entire story is to awaken her BeAuTiFuL master, but put some respect of Feng Xiaoqi’s name, damnit. 😭 He was literally kidnapped but Feng Wu acts like he just left for the store to buy milk. His mother doesn’t even love him, damnit!

The entire 12 Trials of Love thing was the worst thing I have ever read. I hate both Feng Wu and Jun Linyuan but they’re both just suffering for the sake of it! One trial was literally to have Feng Wu make Jun Linyuan 100% angry, and in the next trial she had to make him acknowledge their engagement???? Like, I couldn’t understand why Feng Wu didn’t just tell him she had to do these trials to awaken her master! Why she never told anyone about her master either is beyond me — it’s never stated why except she believes no one will believe her. Feng Wu, if you are such a good person as the author wants us to believe, then I think your friends wouldn’t call you a liar if you told them the truth.

If I weren’t a stubborn motherfucker who cannot leave a book unfinished, I most likely would’ve put this down a long time ago. It was far too long for anyone’s enjoyment. (You do, however, feel incredibly accomplished when you see the percentage slowly go up after finishing a chapter, because holy shit this story had many chapters). It did not need to have as many chapters as it did. Apparently I haven’t even read the entire story. My epub version only contained 2441 chapters but there are apparently over 4000!? Yeah, no, I’m sorry… but if the romance isn’t romancing after 2441 chapters, then it’s doomed to fail in the other chapters as well. I’m content with what I got and have suffered enough, thank you very much.

I hope the live adaptation is better.

・: 1/5 stars.
Not worth it, sorry. : ・

My notes and highlights just to showcase the absurdity that is GODLY EMPRESS DOCTOR:

・: (Chapter 97): ”Wow! Feng Xun felt like crying! Boss Jun had stood up for him! Boss Jun treated him so well! He… He felt like thanking the boss with his own body.” — gay

・: (Chapter 169): “Mrs Yan frowned and cast a stern look at Yan Yan. “It’s important for a girl to be demure, humble, impassive, and mild. What kind of behavior is that?’” — very mindful

・: (Chapter 215): ”Feng Xun’s face went livid. ’You silly girl! I know what this is all about. You’re upset because Boss Jun didn’t save you, and let you fall off that cliff. But killing yourself over such a petty thing? Seriously?’” — MY GOD PLEASE KILL YOUR-FUCKING-SELF

・: (Chapter 216): ”’It has nothing to do with your Boss Jun! I need that first abnormal flame from the eruption!’ Feng Wu punched him with her fists.
However, Feng Xun wouldn’t believe her even if she was telling the truth. ’Can you at least try to be more convincing? …’
” — i am literally crying in frustration

・: (Chapter 224): ”[Feng Xun] covered Qiuling’s mouth right away and glared at her. ’Shush! Nobody’s forcing anyone! Plus, if I had to force myself on someone, I would certainly pick your mistress [Feng Wu] over you!’” — ok feng xun what the fuck

・: (Chapter 240): ”Rubbing his nose, Feng Xun was disappointed. Sigh, he had expected Boss Jun to be interested in Feng Wu. But the guy wasn’t. Why was it so hard for him to like such a smart and pretty girl?” — OK SO WHEN JUN LINYUAN SAYS HE DOESN’T LIKE FENG WU YOU BELIEVE HIM BUT WHEN FENG WU SAYS SHE DOESN’T LIKE JUN LINYUAN YOU’RE ALL LIKE ”yOu tWo fAcEd WoMan.” WHAT ARE THESE DOUBLE STANDARDS FENG XUN FUCK YOU

・: (Chapter 249): ”However, when [Feng Wu] got back to her place, she found Qiuling suffering from diarrhea.” — hello to you too?

・: (Chapter 290): ”’That’s [Feng Xun]! He’s the crown prince’s childhood friend, and he wouldn’t lie about something like [Feng Wu liking Jun Linyuan].’ Yan Yan smirked.” — are you sure about that?

・: (Chapter 311): *Feng Wu has drugged Feng Liu with an aphrodisiac and is trying to find a location to put her to get raped*
However, when [Feng Wu] snuck into Feng Yiran’s courtyard, she heard the unmistakable sounds of a man and a woman doing you-know-what ——” — me, knowing exactly what is about to happen: i want to kill myself

・: (Chapter 401): ”As someone with a big-sister complex, Feng Xiaoqi wouldn’t let that happen.” — why are you admitting it? 😭

・: (Chapter 401): ”Feng Wu smirked. ’[Jun Linyuan]? I’d rather fall in love with Feng Xun!’” — then you know it’s bad

・: (Chapter 416): ”She would choose Feng Xun over [Jun Linyuan]? To her, even Feng Xun was better than him, the crown prince?” — honestly at this point you’re both horrible

・: (Chapter 446): ”Stunning my ass. Even a pig looked better than little Feng Xun’s bruised face.preach girl

・: (Chapter 472): ”Jun Wuxia turned scarlet with rage and she pointed at Feng. ’You — how dare you! My brother will hear about this when he comes back!’” — ok draco malfoy

・: (Chapter 535): ”Feng Wu only snorted. My beautiful master would look even nicer without his clothes on!” — should’ve just been a story between feng wu and her master honestly

・: (Chapter 662): ”’You’re not with child, are you?!’ Lady Wang stared at Feng Liu!” — WHAT NO

・: (Chapter 663): ”Madam congratulations. The patient [Feng Liu] is with child.” — 😭😭😭

・: (Chapter 679): ”Because a tumor had been growing inside Feng Liu and it was very close to the baby. An abortion would be very dangerous for Feng Liu and she might die during the process!” — WHY DO YOU KEEP TORTURING HER? HASN’T SHE SUFFERED ENOUGH?

・: (Chapter 693): ”’Little Feng Wu is crippled and no good family would want her! At least, no one more talented or more influential than me would want to marry her! I’m her best choice!’ Feng Xun yelled.” — way to put yourself up on a pedestal

・: (Chapter 870): ”Feng Wu said [I love you] in French], which was unknown in this world.” — hUh?

・: (Chapter 1089): ”Feng Xun looked shocked. [Feng Wu] was right! Why didn’t he think of that just then? Those people had to be gossiping behind his back now, saying that he was into boys!we don’t claim him✋🏻

・: (Chapter 1093): ”Lady Northern Feng asked, ’Are you telling me that your Brother Xun… likes men?’” — again: we don’t claim him

・: (Chapter 1203): ”What doesn’t [Feng Wu] like about His Royal Highness? … ” — FUCKING EVERYTHING EXCUSE ME???

・: (Chapter 1520): ”… but Feng Wu wasn’t just any woman.” — she’s not even a woman yet wtf (bro’s 13)

・: (Chapter 1611): ”After all, [Feng Wu] was still too kind and was used to seeing the best in someone.” — excuse me what the hell are you yapping about??? is this feng wu we’re talking about???

・: (Chapter 1645): ”Y- You said… You said you would let me go…’ [Jiang Yan] pointed at Feng Wu with a shaking finger.
’Let you go? In your dreams!’ Feng Wu smirked.
” — wow how kind she is! 😀👍🏻

・: (Chapter 1646): ”[Jiang Yan] was an accomplice in Chaoge’s kidnapping, and for those who dared harm one of [Feng Wu’s] own, she would always get her revenge twice over. She had never planned to let him go.” — aND WE’RE SUPPOSED TO BE CHEERING FOR THIS SADISTIC FUCK???

・: (Chapter 1671): ”However, Feng Wu was known for her ability to resolve a crisis.” — Me when I lie:

・: (Chapter 1692): ”The horse watched as the human girl, whom it thought had betrayed it, fell with it 20 meters away. She was watching its hooves nervously.
She was already very pretty, and when she turned serious, she looked stunning in the sunlight.
” — is this the horse’s thoughts???😭

・: (Chapter 1702): ”Other people would have passed out from the pain.

But Feng Wu wasn’t just anyone.
” — 🫠

・: (Chapter 1723): ”Six asked solemnly, 'Your Higness, have you seen a teenage girl wearing a red dress? She's about 13 or 14, and she's... prettier than you.” — yeah because that will definitely tell her who you're talking about😭

・: (Chapter 1799): ”'Yes, I hit you, and I'm going to kill you now! Feng Wu looked like a goddess of death.” — ok grandma let's get you to bed

・: (Chapter 1820): ”[Feng Liu] nodded. 'Yes, she's very beautiful. If Feng Wu's looks are a 6 out of 10, her mother will score a 10 out of 10 at least!.” — words no one has ever said:

・: (Chapter 1883): ”Feng Xun shoouted, 'Xiao Wu is never wrong! If someone is at fault, it has to be the other person!.'” — i wish to be this level of delusional

・: (Chapter 1946): ”Jun Linyun went on, '... I can swear to you that Xiao Wu is the only one I'll ever marry. If I look at another woman, you can chop this off!"

Jun Linyun pointed at his private part.
” — ok king shit

・: (Chapter 1977): ”Feng Wu had had an enlightment in all seven elements, and had become the only all-element mage in the Junwu Empire!” — OF COURSE SHE FUCKING HAS OMG😭

・: (Chapter 2020): ”... and Feng Wu had so many enemies” — if a person has as many enemies as feng wu has then maybe, just maybe, SHE is the problem???

・: (Chapter 2048): ”Chaoge said, 'Feng Xun, I'm warning you, stay out of their business. You'll only create more trouble.” — this is actually the smartest thing anyone has said in the entire book

・: (Chapter 2084): ”That's the scent of an Enchanting Body. Don't you know what part of [Ranmil's] body it comes from?' Jun Linyuan stared at Feng Wu's Hands.” — this is a comedy. it has to be

・: (Chapter 2093): ”Ranmil said, 'Since I can't be [Jun Linyuan's] wife, I'll be his stepmother!” — ☝🏻😀

・: (Chapter 2183): ”Jun Linyuan had no idea that Feng Wu wasn't a real 13-year-old. She had seen pretty much everything in her previous life.” — oh ok so SHE is the groomer now?

・: (Chapter 2362): ”Feng Wu stiffened when she heard what [Jun Linyuan] said.
'I'll break your leg if you try to approach another man!'
” — oh what a great love interest he is😍😍🥰

・: (Chapter 2421): ”'Xiao Wu will be 14 after New Years' Eve, and in the Junwu Empire, that makes her eligible for marriage.'” — AYO WHAT THE FUCK????!!!!

I don't exactly want to go back in time and slap myself silly for reading this, but I really could've spent those few weeks reading something better. It was a fun ride, it had an interesting plot, but in the end, it wasn't really worth it and I don't believe I'll be rereading this book.

On top of being a good-ish source of entertainment during extreme boredom, the worldbuilding isn't bad, the romance, albeit rushed, could've been way worse, and the FL (our protagonist) is a character that you can feel sympathy for.

Godly Empress Doctor had its pros, but the parts I disliked outweigh the good parts of it. Despite feeling sorry for the FL when the world hates her, that doesn't make me like her. She is a Mary Sue who excels in everything, has no weaknesses, her plans rarely ever fail, and this book might as well be titled, "The Adventures of Feng Wu, Mary Sue" or something along those lines.

Almost all of the female characters similar to FL's age are downright obsessed with the crown prince (our ML and love interest). If they aren't daydreaming being married to (or even just being a concubine/maid of) him, they're busy beating up the FL. They're basically just one personality split into several people. On a similar note, the characters are rather cliche, predictable, and flat.

Examples: Duan Chaoge (FL's best friend), crass and violent attitude, cannot keep secrets to save FL's life, arrogant, impatient, only good trait (as far as I can see) is loyalty; Feng Xun, more bearable than Duan Chaoge, but always yelling about how FL liked ML before she actually did catch feelings, which annoyed me to no end; our ML (later goes through some ok character development but is still horrible to me) who physically hurt FL despite supposedly liking her, threatened her family and friends, and is scarily possessive (beat up his good friend just because said friend and FL were TALKING)

Final dislike: The author bit off more than they could chew with how busy the plots were; ended up leaving innumerable plotholes.

Good time killer, but not a good book. If you want something to actually get into, don't pick this one.

DNF @Chapter 140-ish

1. Secret Agent lady reincarnated into xianxia world was schemed against by bitchy lady in the same age group, her powers are stripped away and she is exiled to the border. Five years later, she starts to make moves towards regaining her powers and meets people from her former life etc.

2. Look, this is a cliche story. I don't mind that, because I would not be reading the gazillionth cliche xianxia story if I did. But there are tiers even within cliches and this is not a top tier book. While there are things that I appreciate, like the FL being actually powerless and having to scheme her way out of things instead of just smashing them apart with brute force (although ngl, that's fun too), everything else around her is just really meh and slow-paced.

3. The pace is far too slow. I think all the characters could be saved from being bland with some more time but I don't have the patience for that. And granted the chapters are pretty short but there were still nearly 150 of them without any actual progress happening. Just- people running around dodging each other. And I sorry, but no. I cannot.

The main character is good (I'm currently on chapter 1198) But it's a terrible story, all the hate towards her is so unjustified (not to mention it doesn't make sense, almost everyone hates her) and every time she's struggling, the crown prince just shows up out of nowhere to save her... literally she's a genius who knows medicine, formations, etc yet she's always on the verge of dying (the prince saves her of course).
It's the same events all the time istg ( for 1000+ chapters :l )
Someone just hates her, sets hers up, she proves them wrong, she gets more hate
Someone challenges her, she accepts, she fights well but needs the crown prince's help.
I do not recommend, if you wanna read this, you're just wasting your time.

I wont exactly say it deserves 5/5 but I enjoyed it thoroughly. Started with the live adaptation and I was disappointed with the drama ending, I pick up this book. Didn't regret it. Definitely better than the adaptation version (only that I don't like the ml in the novel version, the ml from the drama is more likeable)

the story might seems so slow for some but I enjoyed the journey of fengwu (definitely my fav character along with fengxun, xuanyi, yu mingye and few side SIDE characters that barely appeared in the story)

This is an interesting one, but what really irritates the readers is the amount of misunderstanding arising after every few capters, I mean why the hell is everyone so against the fl, they can stay neutral cuz it's so absurd to see that the majority of the people in this novel hate the girl to the bones, including those she saved many times like the dowager. Then comes the ml, even if he is powerful why does he act completely like a jerk in front of feng wu, his ego is so big that it would have killed the girl. Half of the time feng wu is almost dead due to the jun linguan only. And then their is Little Phoenix, why does he always have to be so mysterious. The thing that i hated most in the novel is everyone keeping secrets from feng wu claiming that it's not yet time, I mean what more does the girl need to do to prove herself, even her own senior brothers of the same master play her a fool. Throughout the novel it's only her mother ,brother and 3 servants who genuinely cares for her, rest of the people even change either use her due to their selfishness(like feng xun as he thinks more about jun linguan)or put her in trouble (due to their rash and impulsive behavior like duan chhaoge). Half of the time you would want to slap the support characters. But what's truly marvelous is how feng wu never backs down from any challenges and always overcomes all the obstacles put in her way.

I started reading this novel because I didn't like the ending of the drama. The story premise was good, I really liked the overarching storylines, but then a few thousand chapters in, the story started to feel redundant especially with all the female characters getting jealous of the main character's relationship with the male lead and plotting against her. Towards the end of the novel, especially with the ending, it felt as if the author gave up on the story. It was not the conclusion I thought it was going to be.
