Jack

Rate this book
Australian firefighter Jack is used to extinguishing every inferno that dares blaze before him, but when a smoking hot woman from his past unexpectedly reemerges, Jack isn’t so sure that he wants this flame to go out.

Curvy and headstrong Eden has only ever had herself to rely on. She worked hard to put herself through uni, and she prided herself on never needing a man. No bloke, no matter how sexy or handsome, ever got under her skin... until Jack.

When she realized she might be falling head over heels for him, she did what any independent woman would do – she kicked him to the curb. She couldn’t risk the heartbreak that she might suffer if she let him truly light the dormant torch in her heart.

Their past relationship was a whirlwind of fiery passion that went up in smoke.

But now that fate has forced these two former lovers to cross paths yet again, neither one is sure whether the kindles of a fresh love might be igniting – or just another inferno that will swallow them up whole.

Jack is the second book in the Grafton Fire & Rescue Series, but each of these sweet but sizzling Aussie firefighter romances can be read and enjoyed all on their own. With no cliffhangers or cheating, expect a flaming hot love story featuring rugged firefighters and their curvy heroines finding happily ever after!

From the past to the present
This classic second-chance romance book is about Jack and Eden. It’s set here in Australia – which I love! Jack is your quintessential hot firefighter. And Eden has worked hard to put herself through uni to get her nursing degree. She takes great pride in her independence and lack of ‘needing’ a man, or anybody else for that matter. But, she fell for Jack, but left and broke his heart, before he could break hers.
They fatefully see each other again a few years down the track, at the site of a house fire. He’s missed her – nearly unbearable yearning, and desperately wants to know why she left him, and is after some real answers. But will she be able to admit why she took the bolt? And will he accept her reasons? Have her feelings for him remained the same too?
If it hadn’t have been such a hot day, I would’ve sat underneath our jacaranda tree in the backyard to add some ambience to the story, to make me feel like I was in the book myself ;) And I enjoyed all of the other little Australianisms too! AND a vanilla latte is my go-to drink of choice! Eden has good taste! The characters were endearing and adorable. Their attraction was undeniable and their chemistry was sizzling-hot. I give this book four and a quarter rekindled stars.

I received a free ARC copy in exchange for my honest review. This is my own opinion and was not influenced by anyone.

Two lovers who separated when she was afraid of how much she loved him. Jack had his heart broken by Eden. Fate brings them together twice.

Jack is book two in the Grafton Fire and Rescue series. It is a quick read, standalone romance. Being a quick read you don't get a lot of history but there is some. Nonetheless Jack is a very likeable hero.

I can't wait to read about the other firefighters, the guys have such great repport. This romance does give you a warm feeling, especially when there is a happily ever after.

This very well-written book 2 in the Grafton Fire & Rescue Series was an interesting Single Mom Romance, short and spicy, sweet romance story as it had some very well-crafted scenes and story plots. These characters have very strong personalities and their interactions are believable. This story has the following: twists and turns, adventure, action, romance, steam and a HEA. It is a fast-paced story that will keep you engaged from start to finish.

Firefighter Jack encounters the woman who ran away from him years ago. Eden is now a dedicated nurse and tells off the giant firefighter who isn’t helping her patient get to hospital quickly. They realize that Eden is the woman who stomped on his heart and left him. Jack just wants to catch up and possibly an explanation. Things are a bit rough when they try to talk but cooler heads prevail after a late night encounter. Jack is a romantic looking for his HEA and Eden is no longer frightened to trust him.

Seeing Eden was almost looking at a ghost. Jack wasn’t sure if she was real or a figment of his imagination. She was scared and needed space but didn’t know how to tell him. Pushing him away was the best choice. Right? Jack wants answers and she needs to be brave to give them. This might be her only chance to make it right. No cliff

The author pulls us into the lives of Jack and Eden and does not let go. They were together, years ago, but Eden pushed Jack out of her life. With his heart broken, he tried to move on but it was impossible because there was no one else he wanted.

They once shared steamy nights, till she ran scared. Will their love get a second chance?

This was a cute quick read. I loved how he was determined to atleast try to give their relationship a second chance. I didn't blame her for being scared, but was happy when she took that leap! Good read!
