★REVIEW★ The end of STEEL gen 2 aka STEEL Crew .. is bitter sweet. I just hate to see it end, BUT what at ending it was. SWEET & SAVORY yet the #Maxfactor was HAF! He's a man, that knows what he wants and is NOT afraid to go after it .. or her! Mila's strength, generosity and kindness was undeniable.
There were definitely some twists and turns to the plot that left my jaw on the floor, but this second chance, enemies to lovers was the perfect way to end this series on such a happy note. I literally couldn't help from smiling when reading this; Max's happiness just has the energy that makes it contagious! And trust me, this is something you want to catch!

Mila Miller was in love with Max Steel in high school. After one unforgettable night, things went dark between them. Mila comes from a sad childhood and is determined to make things better for not only herself but what’s left of her family. She is the queen of couponing and bartends college parties. When a chance run in with the one guy she never wanted to see again happens, all bets are off.
He’s beautiful, carved from whatever God the Steel family has on payroll up in Heaven when each are created.
Max Steel has had a rough few years. Although he had feelings for Mila back in high school, an unfortunate series of events changed him. After touring the world as a surf pro, Max is back to fulfill a promise he made to his mom, going to college. After a chance run in with the one and only girl he’s ever had feelings for, he’s determined to make her fall for him again. But will a secret Mila is keeping be the end of them or just the beginning?
“I promise you here and now, on sailboats and blue hearts, that I will choose you every day until there are no tomorrows.”
5 freaking amazing stars!!!! Everytime I read the next story in this series I think to myself, MJ Fields can’t outdo herself. Every single time she does just that. Although Max definetly has the Steel charm and swagger, he also has his Mom’s soft side and it shines through. The way he handles Mila is so swoon-worthy! I absolutely adore him! Mila was such an amazing character in her own right. You get to see her growth from a very low self-esteem high school student, to a sassy college student who takes zero crap from anyone. She gives Max a run for his money. MJ Fields rides the wave to the sunset with this book! Loved every minute of it. #foreversteel
Maxed Steel was such a perfectly beautiful tribute to the end of the Steel Crew generation. I went in to this book with the bittersweet feelings I always get when ending a series, but Max and Mila were just so everything, I didn’t even have time to be sad.
I have loved Max since the day he was born in a bathtub. Of all the Steel Crew, Max has always seemed to have this carefree attitude that came off more confident than cocky. My heart broke for him after the accident in Smashed Steel. He really lost his way and I wondered if we’d get our Maxie back. I’m thrilled to say we did, and he was the type of swoony alpha that would make Jase proud.
This book was everything I hoped it would be, and we got to spend lots of time with the whole Jase and Carly crew. I loved everything about it.
5 star Review Maxed Steel (Steel Crew #9) by M.J. Fields
M.J. Fields writes stories with characters you cannot help but become invested in. I was hooked from the first chapter and had a hard time putting it down when real life got in the way. Max has been on a journey of self discovery and has finally returned home to get the college education he planned. Meeting the woman he had feelings for in high school, he is determined to pursue her, even though Mila says she hates him. However we all know that there is a fine line between love and hate and soon it becomes to hard to ignore the chemistry that sizzles between them.
Maxed Steel is an emotional journey, a story of love and family. I have enjoyed my visits with the younger generation of the Steel family.
It was great to see some familiar faces and I am sad that this is the last book in this series.
Mila is one amazing strong compassionate woman. Max is one confident compassionate complicated man. He knows what he wants and won’t take no for an answer. Even when things come to light that he was not expecting. He shows Mila that he has her back no matter what. Forever steel is what Max is for sure. Could not put this book down. Wish I could read it for the first time all over. A must read
#FOREVERSTEEL Yes! That's the way to end a series! Launch the confetti cannons! Do a happy dance! Maxed Steel is all about the Crew and supporting the baby of the bunch. We get MAx and Kiki and Bella and My all given each other sh*t but having each other's back no matter what. Loved seeing their spouses also jumping in to help Max.
Mila and Max have a history so this is a second chance romance to beat all second chance romances. Lots of water under the bridge between now and senior year of high school. Ah, but when you know you know. Max is determined to win her heart. He pulls out all the stops.
But wait! There are a few twisty turns I didn't see coming. Adds to the story and makes you fall in love with Max even more. He is the swooniest of the bunch I think. Perfect mix of stubborn Carly and smoldering Jase. Such a momma's boy but he has watched his parent's love story for years and he knows what he wants to aim for. I can't think of a more perfect way to round out the Steel family than this. It started with Carly and Jase and ends with their son Max and his Mila.
Loved Loved Loved everything about this story. Well maybe not Marc--booooo! Read the whole series. Get all up in the Steel family's business. You will not regret one minute of it. Fantastic read!!
*Complimentary copy provided for an honest review.
Its always a bittersweet feeling when you get to the last book in a series and there could not have been a better send off than to end with the youngest second gen Steel, Max. The carefree surfer, a proud mamma's boy who always has a smile on his face and has spent his life looking up to his siblings, crew, and parents, wanting what they have. That special one to complete them. He was an absolute ray of sunshine and as soon as he sees Mila on campus, all bets are off when he realises the one girl he let get away in high school is now here.
We got to see the extended Steel crew again and boy have they grown, my mind went crazy imagining a whole new series based on the third gen crew, you can already see all their personalities coming through and it was absolutely incredible. I love this entire family so much, it's been an incredible journey watching them all find their other half. This was the perfect ending to the second generation of Steel.
Baby max is all grown up and ready for babies of his own, it’s making me feel old. This is the final book in the 2nd generation Steel, if you haven’t read any of the other books I would recommend doing so as they’re all great reads and the Steels are one BIG family tree to try and get your head around. I liked max, you could tell he’d grown up compared to his appearances in some of the earlier books. He wasn’t the player I was expecting and had his eye on the prize, which for him was a love like his parents and a girl as fantastic as his Mom, you couldn’t not love a mommy’s boy as fierce as he is. I’m not sure Mila could really hate anyone but she doesn’t give in to Max’s apologies instantly and their quick banter responses to each other are fun. As always I loved the huge family gatherings and loyalty they share, and all the cute littles. If there’s ever a 3rd gen series comes out I’m sure they’ll be just as fierce as their parents. A great read
What an Fantastic Ending to an Incredible Series. Max Steel is everything you knew he can be and more. Loving that he has the love of his family but most of all knowing what he wants and going after it with everything he has. Mila Miller will do whatever it takes to make life easier for her family but when Max comes back into the picture she will do whatever it takes to protect her heart. Max & Mila are amazing together and with the help of his family she realizes that when the Steel family takes you under their wing you are Steel forever. I have loved this journey that MJ Fields has taken us on and knowing this might be the end you know that when you see the words The End you will have a smile on your face and a tear in your eye.
I absolutely loved reading this book and I posted my review on Amazon and thought it transferred! I read Max’s parents Jase and Carly ♥️ story and fell in love with them. Max their gorgeous Steel inherited looks is their son and comes across Mila. They loved each other in high school but it things happened. They unknowingly go to the same college and sparks fly between them but builds up slowly. Mila is wary of Max due to their past, I feel bad for Max due what’s happened to him and his family members. I’m sad to know that this is the last book in the Steel 2nd generation. But oh did MJ Fields go out with this series in a such a hot good way! I loved this book and will definitely reread them.
Perfect ending to a perfect series. It's bittersweet saying goodbye to this series. This Crew was everything. I fell hard for the OG Steel's and this series exceeded my expectations for the next gen.
Max and Mila were perfect. And Max was the perfect blend of one of my fav Steel couples, Jase & Carly. I really can't say much about the book, because you need to experience the twists and turns for yourself. I will say that Max will steel (get it) your heart from page one! He's the ultimate book boyfriend!
You can read it as a stand alone, but really...you must experience the whole Steel world. It will stay in your heart always. #foreversteel
Absolutely amazing. Laughed and chuckled out loud through this whole feel good book. Beautiful way to end the series (although I’m so sad it’s over ). I truly can’t get enough of saying how touching and to the heart every one of the Steel books are. They all manage to touch on a topic that hits home in some way. MJ has a way of bringing the unknown to light and making it acceptable. That is a truly blessed gift.
I was expecting more from this book. The writing was not the best. There were times that the conversations didn't make sense and I gave up trying. Max and Mila were ok as a couple, just didn't feel the connection between them.
What a phenomenal ending to an incredible series. Max will not settle until he finds his one. Everyone else has found theirs and now he wants to find his. But the one he does want basically cannot stand him. She wants nothing to do with him. But he will not stop until she admits to herself as well as him that she feels the same way. He doesn’t give up. He knows they belong together and will stop at nothing until she is his. Mila is trying to do right by her family. She is supporting them while also being a full-time college student. She wants to make something of her life and break away from how she and her sister grew up. She holds a lot of resentment toward Max. She feels that he stood in her way of receiving scholarships which prevented her of following her dreams. Now she comes face to face with him after 2 years and she wants nothing to do with him. But will her feelings change when she finds out the truth of what happened to them in the past, and will she admit to herself how she never forgot him or got over him. The one thing I love about this series and everything Steel is family. Their bonds are unbreakable. Once you become part of them you are theirs for life. They will love, protect, and stand by you. They are real. Each story took you on a journey and showed you what this family is made of. Sorry to see this series end but it will forever hold a piece of my heart for ForeverSteel.
MJ Fields just does it every time and I'm so sad to see this end. The Steel Forever family will be just that. Max has been through a lot and if you read the previous book you will know and if not you need to. After almost losing My he takes off for a few years surfing and needing to find himself. When it's time to come back and keep his promise to his mom he doesn't realize his life is about to change in a big way. Mila just is trying to get through school and take care of her family, she is beautiful and saucy. I love her and how this character is just so strong. When she sees Max for the first time in years things are about to get crazy. Max realizes who Mila is and he's not about to let her go again. He is going to make sure she knows that she has always been his. However, she has a secret and it's about to be exposed. Can he forgive her and love her no matter what? One thing about this book is the love you feel jumping off the pages. Enjoy Max and Milas's story you won't be disappointed and you will want to read it again and again.
Max Steel son of Carly & Jase who is my all time favourite. This is such a wonderful book that I didn’t want it to finish , more so as it’s the end of this series. The connection between Mila and Max was always there , when you read this book you see much more going on between them. Always well written MJ Fields brings another winner home . I found that Max is so much like Jase they both say truths. No spoilers here it’s a beautiful book to read and relive it again in your mind .!
I have read just about every one of MJ Fields books. The dialog between the characters is witty and flows perfectly with what’s happening in the book. As always reading this book left me feeling happy I bought the book! Looking forward to the next!
Absolutely love this story and has the perfect ending!
Omg this book was so much more than I expected and absolutely loved it. Every time I read a Steel book I feel like I'm transported back into this big, loud, and crazy at times family with a unbreakable bonds.
I absolutely loved that both Mila and Max had over come their younger insecurities and were able to find the bond they once had before. I can truly say I feel like Mila was the most relatable character, with her ugly duckling syndrome in high school. I mean we all can relate to the struggles of appearances, to fit in and find who to befriend along the way. I feel like MJ definitely gave her the most realistic issues from family problems, unexpected consequences, and to surviving hardships without much on her side. Honestly she is the epitomizes what a fighter is and how nothing will derail her fom breaking the cycle and showing people you can overcome so many obstacles if you just push forward and find your person to help share in your experiences. Max became the the man I truly knew he would be and even more in this book. We saw him at times struggling with being the littlest Steel and not quite measuring up in his mind to his family. Also how he went on the darker side when the accident occurred with Amias, but he pushes forward and makes his own path in life. His and Mila's story is bittersweet since they both saw more than the outer appearances of each other and a friendship was formed to become more. Then life steps in and everything changes for them both in drastically different ways to only bring them back together after a two year hiatus. Their journey is rocking and fast paced but works for them in the end. These two were a blast to read from the LOL moments, to frustrating and even sad moments, but they definitely brought the heat in this book.
Highly recommend this book it has everything you need in it and more. If you love the Steel family, your definitely in for a treat since we see the whole crew throughout it and even some new characters. This book is a fast paced love story that will pull you in after the first few paragraphs and having you wanting more when it ends. So yes grab it and get ready to enjoy Max and Mila finding their forever Steel ending.
If you were wondering what happened to Max after his accident with My and was MIA most of the time in the other books. Read Maxed Steel, it is the last installment for the Seel Crew series by MJ Feilds.
Max Steel a pro surfur that's gone around the world to compete. He comes back after two years to college to fulfill his promise to his mom. On move in day Max meets a girl that looks familiar to him but can't put a finger on from where. When he walks in his dorm room with his parents they see his room mate having sex. His room mate apologies after what they saw and later when his parents leave he invites Max to a party. He sees the same girl from earlier and starts calling her Blue. He trys to get her attention but she just won't budge. When there is an argument, the Blue walks around the bar to defend herself but Max holds her back. Then the other girl ends up leaving with some guy. When Blue is going to walk back she drops something and Max recognizes the blue heart shaped birthmark on her neck. The only person that has it is Mila Miller his crush since high school.
Mila tries to avoid her nemesis Max Steel. She wants nothing to do with after he stood her up years ago. She doesn't trust him at all. She thinks that he's just a rich kid that shows off and doesn't work hard for what he has, just like she had too. She think that he's a player and uses every girl he gets with. But she doesn't know the real reason why he stood her up that night.
I love how MJ Feilds didn't make it to back and forth like other books I've read. It's understandable why she has issues believing and trusting Max. But she ain't no saint, she has secrets that no one knows and that if Max was to find out would hurt him. I love how we get to see Max with his one and how it goes back full circle in a way.
In this book we see more of the Littles and I love how she show us more Cooper, Archer, and Creed's personalities. Oh and let's not forget Saylor (yes Saylor with a y 😁). Wish she would make series for them but if she doesn't I'm happy with what she showed us in the books about them.
It is not the first time I have said it this week but I feel the need to yell 'Why must it end!??' Where Max and Mila's story can be read as as stand alone book, it is still the last book in the Steel World's second generation series but I guess that the best story was saved for last in this case.
In this installment, we catch up with Max as he heads off to college. On day one he encounters a blast from his past when he encounters Mila but unbeknownst to him she has some serious hate for him going on. Max puts in the effort to change her feelings for him as he explained what really happened to cause his accident and why he ghosted her in the past.
Mila on the other hand has over come some self esteem issues and puts the work in to do all that she can for her family as well as others in her community. She comes clean about a secret that she has been keeping from Max while she fights her feelings for him. She also has some issues to overcome when it relates to her family while slowly realizing that she has to let others into her life.
The chemistry between Max and Mila is off the charts no matter how hard Mila fights against it and her feelings for Max. Both characters were well written and reading this story made me feel like I was back at the beginning with Jase and Carly just with different circumstances and issues. Where the extended family played a small role in this book, except for the typical antics of Kiki and Bella, it was nice to some what catch up the the clan no matter how big their appearance was.
Overall, this was a well written story that I enjoyed from the start and I am sorry that this is the end but I can see where there other stories can evolve from this book. I look forward to seeing what is in store for us readers from Ms. Fields next and I also recommend this book to others.
❤️ ❤️❤️ The Steel Family - Gen 1 + Gen 2. Since receiving the ARC, I have read this wonderful HEA 5 times in <3 days. It’s that good. Catching up with the OG Steel Brothers, their wives and the 2nd Gen Crew was fantastic.
Honestly, Maximus’ story was the best of the best. I can’t get enough of M2 (Max + Mila aka Miller). Robustly laughed out loud so many times that I was asked to tone it down. Not with this book. The scene with Max extolling his “wilderness woman” momma Carly was so so sweet and his dialogue with Archer + Cooper was priceless.
But as much as I laughed I was also awed multiple times. Really loved getting to know the 3rd Gen of Steel littles: Archer, Cooper, Creed + of course Saylor. Also appreciated understanding Aunt Pam’s backstory and the coming to terms with Bella.
MJ Fields has created such a robust + endearing family unit that I want to be a Steel. The family bonds are strong and while there is love there is also pain, forgiveness and acceptance.
While this is the last of the Gen 2 Steel Crew series, can’t wait to see what’s next with Lindsey+Boone, Cia and of course hoping that we will take the journey with the Gen 3 Steel Littles including the additions on the way (what’s in that water?).
If I could have given this book 10 stars I would have. It is one of if not the best book of 2021.
I highly recommend you take a few moments to spend some time with Maxi, Mila and this wonderful Steel Family. Cheers!
OH what can I say. Every time I read one of these I think that its the best and so much better than the last one. I think that there is no way the next book can be any better than this one. Then she go and does it, I don't know how she does it but some how she make the book better than the last one. It just amazes me, how she can still suck me into a book and keep me wanting more. The Steel Series was the first book that I read of MJ's I feel in love with it from the first words. These books have not disappointed at all. We have gotten to see bits and pieces of Max through other books. This one shows up the true Max. The one and only Max. I have to say, I think that he is one of my favorites. Max knows what he wants and he is not afraid to go after it. I think that he may have a lot of his daddy in him!!!! Most Steel men know exactly what they want and they are not afraid to go after it. I am not sure that Mila is one of my favorite female characters. She has a lot going on. This book has a lot of up and downs, twist and turns. I love the family bond that shows in the Steel family and how they always come together. It is absolutely amazing.
I have absolutely loved ready this series. It has been my all time favorite series to read. I love seeing how this family has come together over the years and how the family has grew. I really hate to see this series come to an end. But it has been a great series to read and watch grow. I highly recommend this book and any Steel bool. Forever Steel!!!!!!!
The story has secrets, passion, surprises, and heartbreak. I was pulled right into this story. The story flowed well, and I was kept interested.
If you have not read the below I would recommend reading those books(s) first Tagged Steel (Steel Crew #1) Branded Steel (Steel Crew #2) Laced Steel (Steel Crew #3) Justified Steel (Steel Crew #4) Tricked Steel (Steel Crew #5) Busted Steel (Steel Crew #6) Smashed Steel (Steel Crew #7) Marked Steel (Steel Crew #8)
This is Mila and Max’s story. Max has been working on himself and also looking for what everyone else has found in his group. But sadly he didn’t find the one he wants to send his life with. He back and fulfilling a promise he made to his parents to get an education. Move in day and he sees the ones he knows will be his forever. Only problem is back in high school he could have had her but he messed up and lost her. Now from the looks she is giving him he is going to have to work for it. She almost seems like she hates him. But under all that hate is a passion that burns deep he just has to unlock that passion. Then he can get his forever. He has his work cut out for him but in the end the prise will be worth it.
I loved these characters and the side characters. I felt I could connect with the characters and the story was a great read.
I highly recommend this book and can’t wait for the next story from this author.
I'm confused because throughout this series Max seemed to be a player. He never gave the impression he was taken with one particular girl. He played the field and enjoyed it. So now he is out of high school and has finished touring the world with surfing and ready to start college. Not because he wants to but to make his mom happy. Mila just happens to be going to the same college as him and she feels that he ruined any chances she had to get into other colleges. She has resented him for years. Now we find out they had a one night stand and then she never heard from him again because of the night he got roofied. He is claiming she was always the one. He never asked another girl for a date. As for Mila in a fit of rage, jealousy or who knows what Marcello plays on her insecurities and offers her a night at a hotel and she jumps at it. Only for him to ignore her the next day. Although I think his only aim was a dig at Max but he never even realized anything had taken place until years later. The secret Mila was keeping from everyone wasn't much of a surprise. The one thing that just did not make sense was the conversation between the 2 kids who were about 8/9 yrs old about being non binary. It was so out of left field and didn't even add to the story.
Another wonderful addition to the Steel Crew Series and what a great book to finish the series on, this is Max and Mila’s second chance at friends or possibly lovers. Max has hidden his feelings for Mila since high school but now back home to get his college education underway he finds he can’t hide his feelings any longer and he decides to pursue the woman who haunts his dreams. Mila openly admits to hating Max but we all know there is a very fine line between love and hate so is it really hate …… This is an emotional love story entwined with family and friends. The chemistry is sizzling, the banter is witty but it’s the emotions that jump off the pages that takes this book to another level. Ms Fields knows how to draw us in with her wonderful words that paint pictures in our mind, am I sad to see this series end, of course but this is a series that will be read over and over because I will never get it enough of the Steel clan and their families. Wonderful love story to end the series on.
Mila & Max have a past that has her convinced that she totally hates him, and there are times I'm sure she does. However, we all know that love & hate are the two sides of the same coin don't we? Max has been traveling around as a surfer (some things happened to him that had a detrimental effect on him) but now he's back in college because of a promise he made to his mother, and as fate would have it, he ends up at the same college Mila is at, and he looks at it like a second chance with her. There's no doubt the sparks are flying in all directions, but Mila is prickly to say the least, and there are some moments that I totally understood while at other times, she was frustrating. Max is starting to tear down her walls little by little, but Mila has a big secret that will have some serious consequences when it's revealed, so will Max be able to forgive her?! You know what to do to find out, and trust me, you have to find out because you simply cannot go wrong with MJ Fields! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
