Magnolia Sound #7

The Way the Story Goes

Rate this book
Thriller writer Mia Kingsley has been hit with a serious case of writer’s block and she needs a little peace and quiet. A beach front property in Magnolia Sound seemed like the perfect escape and just the change of scenery she needs to get the words flowing again. That is, until her noisy neighbor starts running power tools and blasting music at all hours of the day and night. Before long, the next victim in her story starts to bear an uncanny resemblance to the contractor next door.

Austin Coleman never wanted to come back to Magnolia Sound. But sometimes, life takes an unexpected turn and the only way to get back on your feet is to go home. His plan is to avoid all things connected to his past, and renovating a beach house in the off-season is just the way to do that—there’ll be no neighbors and no distractions. Or so he thought until he almost maims his sexy neighbor with a flying sink. Despite his best efforts, trouble follows everywhere he goes.

At first she wanted to kill him. Now she wants to kiss him. Sometimes you have to wait and see where the story goes.

This did not strike me as a realistic author book, but hey. It was fine, I liked that it was about messy people and it was fine that they were messy. Not my favorite prose either.

Another great addition to the Magnolia Sound Series, I love my visits to Magnolia Sound and when I heard we were getting book #7 I was excited and Mia Kingsley and Austin Coleman’s story did not disappoint because their journey was everything I have come to love by the very talented Ms Chase.
Mia is struggling with her latest novel so she decides to take herself off to the place her PA now lives in the hope that the peace and quiet of Magnolia Sound will break her writers block, what she didn’t expect was the house next door to be under renovation......
Austin doesn’t mean to break the peace and quiet Mia is looking for, he just wants to finish the renovation he has started so why is the stunning woman next door giving him so much grief....
Will the noisy neighbor be the one to break Mia’s writing block, guess you need to read the book to find that out.
This book ticked all my boxes, the chemistry is sizzling, the attraction is instant abd the banter is witty and flows so naturally. The Way the Story Goes is a heartfelt, entertaining journey that I recommend to all romance lovers.

"Another wonderful read in Samantha Chase’s Magnolia Sound. This go around we get thriller writer, Mia Kingsley and Austin Coleman.Austin vows to never return to Magnolia Sound, however as we all know, things don’t always go as planned.
Set in a small coastal town, all the characters have great stories, as well as some bigger secrets. Mia needs a change to get over her writers block, and Austin, whom left town because he was labeled the town bad boy, has grown up to be a successful architect and is back home.
I loved their story from the first page, it’s a wonderful storyline, with a cast of supporting characters we have come to love. Thank you Samantha Chase for an other amazing read. "

5 Star Review of The Way The Story Goes (Magnolia Sound #7) by Samantha Chase

Samantha Chase’s descriptive writing makes is so easy to picture Magnolia Sound and the surrounding areas and I couldn’t wait to dive in to The Way The Story Goes. I love stories set in small towns and I as I have found with previous books that I have read by Samantha Chase this one was well written and entertaining.

Mia Kingsley is a writer with a serious case of writer's block and she hope that Magnolia Sound will help her focus on her witting. Unfortunately for her the peace and quiet she craves is constantly interrupted by Austin Coleman, a noisy contractor renovating the house next door.

Sparks fly between them from the first and it was this sizzling chemistry that had me intrigued and invested I the story Ms.Chase wove. Could Austin be the muse that Mia needs to get back on track? This is a heart warming story that ticked the boxes for me.

Magnolia Sound is the place that hearts go to get a reality check. Whether it's the healing of a broken heart, searching for a soft place to fall or facing the upsets that life has placed to throw emotions off their game, Samantha Chase is sure to make each visit one to remember. With more than a little humor, Mia and Austin are a charming asset to an already lovable series. The Way the Story Goes is a sweet escape from heartbreaking reality.

I highly recommend Samantha Chase’s The Way the Story Goes! I was engaged in Mia and Austin’s story from start to finish.
Thriller writer Mia Kingsley has a bad case of writer’s block. She’s escaped to a beach house to finish her novel. Her deadline is looming and the loud construction work going on next store was adding to her stress level. Her coping strategy? She started a new book titled Deadly Renovation—starring her loud next door neighbor! I loved this plot device as it kicked up the storyline a level, showcased Mia’s creativity and added a fun twist to the plot.
Loved Mia and Austin Coleman’s first meeting—he throws a sink off the deck and narrowly misses clobbering Mia. Loved the fun, flirty back and forth banter between the couple as they navigate a work truce, friendship and romance. Mia is beautiful, desirable, intelligent and an introvert. Family situations, and confrontations are not her forte. On the other hand, Austin is at ease with family parties and can hold his own in quarrelsome situations. Austin is a successful architect who has trouble believing in himself and acknowledging his successful career.
Samantha Chase is an incredible storyteller. Her characters leap off the page and into your heart. I really wanted this couple to believe in themselves and in their love story. I could relate to their situation and was pulling for their HEA.
If you are looking for a novel with all the feels—pick up The Way the Story Goes! It’s a fabulous character driven novel filled with flirty banter, memorable characters and a sizzling romance which will warm your heart!

Kyle and Sydney’s story in The Way the Story Goes, book seven in Samantha Chase’s Magnolia Sound series, is an emotional and heartwarming tale of breaking down walls and rediscovering your true inner direction. Mia Kingsley, a thriller writer, has lost her mojo and is suffering a major case of writer’s block. Seeking an escape, she finds a beach front property in Magnolia Sound, near her best friend and personal assistant, hoping the change of scenery will be what she needs to get her words flowing again. Only there’s a problem, the house next door is being renovated, with power tools and loud music going at all hours of the day, disrupting her peace and quiet. Soon, the next victim in her story starts to resemble the contractor next door. Austin Coleman never planned to come back to Magnolia Sound, but sometimes, life going home is the only way to get back on your feet. He’s hoping that renovating a beach house, owned by a friend, during the off-season will keep him away from anything that could be connected to his past. He assumed that there would be no neighbors or distractions, until an ill-timed flying sink almost hits his sexy neighbor. Despite trying hard to stay out of trouble, once again it has found him. After meeting Austin, Mia went from wanting to kill him to wanting to kiss him.

Growing up in Magnolia Sound, Austin and his brothers were a bit wild, often getting into trouble. His great-grandfather saw potential in Austin and left an inheritance of money for a college education to give him a chance to pursue a career that followed his passion and no longer be judged for his father walking away from his family. Mia grew up in Boston, the only child of college professors, and was pushed to be the genius, they believed her to be. Being with Austin and spending time with him, gives Mia an opportunity to view everything, including her writing, from another perspective. In fact, not only did Mia complete her book, she wrote the story she started with killing off Austin only to have a few twists and turns, with a little romance within it. The magnetism between them, along with the cracking electricity and sizzling chemistry led to wonderful story of pursuing dreams, passions, and learning to be flexible.

Ms. Chase wrote a wonderful, heartwarming and emotional story that is not to be missed. She provided a tale rich with sizzling chemistry, amusing banter, and endearing secondary characters giving Mia and Austin a chance at love, happiness and the possibility of a forever together. I highly recommend The Way the Story Goes to other readers.

The Way The Story Goes
Magnolia Sound #7
Samantha Chase
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I love the Magnolia Sound stories, set in a small coastal town, its characters are so different, along with some great stories and some big secrets. It goes from quiet little town to crazy town in the warmer months, but to those who call it home, Magnolia Sound is steeped in history and charm! For those who leave for a long time, or a short time, or those who come to visit and never leave it’s a beautiful place to capture your world, even if for a little time!

We met Mia Kingsley in Last Beautiful Girl, a famous author trying desperately to finish off her smash hit series, Twisted Deception, but loving in Boston and everything going on around her meant it wasn’t getting the attention it deserved. All for her followers, Mia relocates temporary to Magnolia Sound to finish it beach side in total peace, until power tools, load pumping music and seriously bad singing pushes her last nerve! Steaming over to the house, and the person responsible Mia is on a collision course with fate, something she knows a little about! Ready to tear the head off the neighbour for all the noise, she is stopped in her tracks when a sink, (yes a sink) almost hits her in the head, if that’s not bad enough trying to miss that she stands on glass which cuts open her foot. But the man whom she’s gonna kill, is a sight to behold!

Austin Coleman isn’t new to Magnolia, he grew up here and is part of the huge Coleman family who founded the area. But unlike the other Coleman’s, Austin came from a poor mother, a father who walked out on them, was the town screw up, bad temper, bad attitude, yeah you know the type? After leaving Magnolia to pursue a career and college, Austin is now a very talented architect, but a little mishap has him moving back to Magnolia to help renovate a beach house for a friend. This is the perfect way for him to get his head back in the game, no one around, he can concentrate on what he loves….. until a neighbour is seen, and once seen she can never be forgotten. In a laugh out loud encounter, Austin almost maims his new and sexy neighbour! In an all out war Austin attempts to come to a ceasefire and once it’s sealed and delivered, the chemistry between the is off the charts.

Almost instantly Mia’s writers block opens, and a new story of a deadly contractor, his loud music and power tools, all sexy with his shirt off her creative juices flow, meaning she thinks more and more of the hunk next door. Not ideal for finishing off the series she’s there for, she finds solace with Austin, he’s smart, sexy and very good with his hands. He’s a man who works hard, and his good vibes eventually help her unlock that block and finish her series! But as one story finishes, another opens and somethings you just have to go with it…. As the story goes, sometimes you just have to see where it takes you!

The Way the Story Goes, by Samantha Chase, is book #7 in the Magnolia Sound series.

Why 5 stars from me? Characters and the quality of the story / writing.

First of all, this book is a standalone in a series that is a HEA. It’s the best kind of standalone in a series book ... if you’ve read other books in the series, there will be familiar characters in this book .. it’s like seeing old friends. The main character, Mia, was featured in the last Magnolia Sound book, The Last Beautiful Girl. If you haven’t read the other books, don’t let the number 7 turn you off ... in fact, you should embrace it! Read this one with the happy knowledge that after finishing you have 6 other books to enjoy ... and that’s without checking out the other books in this author’s catalog.

Mia is a writer who’s in Magnolia Sound to try to bust past her writer’s block. She’s not making much progress because her next door neighbor, Austin, is a constant source of noise pollution with his power tools and hammering as he renovates a cottage.

At first, there are lots of sparks ... which quickly become combustible chemistry. In addition, this book has humor, creative dialogue, and sweet talking romance. It’s got small town, books, and LOL scenes.

If you’re looking for a great read to take you to a wonderful place, look no further. Download The Way the Story Goes today. You’ll be happy you did.

I received an ARC. This is my honest review

Mia has a case of writer's block and figured a change of scenery could help because her house was also undergoing renovations and it was noisy. She rents a beautiful house right on the water in Magnolia Sound only to find the house next door undergoing renovations and it was noisy. Not to mention the contractor who had the power tools going at all hours of the day and music cranked up to which he also bellowed out the songs badly. Mia and Austin's story was sweet. Between Austin's low self esteem and Mia's social awkwardness, they made the perfect couple. I loved this story even when I wanted to slap one or the other up side the head for being so stuborn. The 7th and final book in the series can be read as a stand alone but to get the full flavor of Magnolia Sound you should read them all. You won't be disappointed. I highly recommend this book and the whole serie

Sweet, cute story! Samantha Chase delivers another heartwarming romance full of charm and emotional depth. I loved how this story explored themes of second chances and healing — something she does so well. The characters felt relatable and real, each dealing with their own struggles and growth in a way that drew me in. The family connections and small-town setting gave it that signature cozy feel I’ve come to expect and love from Chase’s books.

While the plot was a little predictable, that didn’t take away from how enjoyable it was to read. I’ve been making my way through this series, and these books have become perfect palate cleansers between heavier, more intense reads. They’re the kind of stories that remind you why you love romance — sweet, heartfelt, and guaranteed to leave you with a smile when you’re done.

The Way the Story Goes
Mia Kingsley is a famous author who was having a little writer block. She decides to go to Magnolia Sounds to visit her friend Sydney and to get away. She ends up finding some inspiration in an unlikely ride neighbor.
Austin Coleman grew up in Magnolia Sounds, he is back in town after having a bit of trouble at his job and is working on a beach house there for a friend. He is trying to figure out just what is in his future.
This was a wonderful story. I Loved Mia and Austin. There was just something about Mia being an author that just added to the story for me. It was fun seeing a story inside of a story and getting insight into what an authors writing process maybe like. If you are looking for a sweet romance with not a lot of angst, this is an amazing book. I love the banter between Austin and Mia definitely has a sassy yet flirty feel to it. In this case I definitely think opposites attract and I Loved how they compliment each other. It was a heart warming read that kept me smiling and loving it all the way through but also had me feeling for the characters. Amazing overall read, you will definitely want to grab it!

Sadly, I cannot agree with the majority of reviews here. While I found the plot and setting had potential, it is very frustrating when the main characters are so whiny and emotionally immature. After a person has made it through college, military service, etc., and are over 25 years old, they should be more experienced and grounded than the two people here (especially when one’s job is to help/council others). Over and over throughout the book, they kept expressing the same feelings, insecurities, emotions. Enough already. Any reader can understand that in the first few chapters…. no need to keep repeating it ! This book was too irritating nd DNF

Samantha Chase has delivered another wonderful romance with The Way the Story Goes, the seventh book in her Magnolia Sound series. I love the Magnolia Sound series and each book in the series keeps getting better and better. I think that The Way the Story Goes is my favorite book in the series, who does not love an opposites attract love story? Samantha Chase has once again provided her readers with amazing characters. I love all the characters in The Way the Story Goes, they feel like family! Who doesn't love hot sexy men, strong, passionate females, and big loving families, who always support one another? Samantha Chase continues to deliver all that and so much more. Reading The Way the Story Goes felt like catching up at a family reunion, and seeing how the lives of the other characters in the series have changed and all the babies! I so enjoyed the book and am looking forward to reading the remaining books in the Magnolia Sound series. I have read other books by Samantha Chase and have really enjoyed her wonderfully written love stories. Samantha Chase has once again shown that she is an amazing storyteller. The Way the Story Goes did not disappoint, I could not put it down and loved every page. I enjoy how Samantha Chase writes from the perspective of the two main characters. That way you get to know what is going on in each of their minds. The Way the Story Goes is a wonderful love story and is filled with heartbreaking and heartwarming moments. I love the lighter moments where I find myself smiling and laughing out loud and the bittersweet moments that cause me to sigh, say aww to myself with tears filling my eyes. The Way the Story Goes be filled with such moments, and with so much more. It is filled with all those things that we have come to love and expect in a Samantha Chase love story, especially the poignant and bittersweet moments that filled this page turner. The Way the Story Goes is the story of Mia Kingsley, famous mystery suspense author and friend of Sidney Albright and Austin Coleman, architect and great-grandson of Ezekiel Coleman, founder of Coleman Construction and one of the founding fathers of Magnolia Sound. Austin has returned home and is in town renovating his friend’s brother, Ryder’s beach house, which is next door to Mia’s rental. Mia is suffering from writer’s block in writing her current book, Twisted Deception, the last book in her current series, and is behind schedule. She takes Sydney’s advice and rents a house on the beach at Magnolia Sound for the peace and quiet. Mia continues to struggle with writing Twisted Deception and it does not help that Austin is distracting her with the noises from his power tools and his loud music all hours of the day and night. A new story idea comes to Mia, Deadly Renovation where she imagines killing her neighbor because of the renovation, and she begins writing it. While walking along the beach, Austin starts playing his music and Mia finally decides to approach him. Unbeknownst to Austin that Mia is approaching the beach house, he throws a sink off the deck. Mia and Austin come to a compromise regarding the hours that Austin will play his music and use his power tools. Austin and Mia begin spending time together and things quickly heat up between the two of them. As Austin works on the renovations to Ryder’s beach house, he and Mia grow closer. As they spend more time together, they share secrets that they haven’t shared with anyone before, and realize they may have something more. I love that both Austin and Mia were both so vulnerable and that each of them changed because of their love for one another. Then a surprise plot twist changes everything that they had built with one another. Things change when Mia’s parents come to visit, and she does not want him to meet them, but they accidentally get to meet Ryder. I loved the story and am so glad that both Mia and Austin got their happily ever after that they waited so long for. My favorite part in the book is the epilogue and how it wraps up all the details of the happily ever after, and it did not disappoint, I loved Austin’s proposal! The Way the Story Goes contains all the things I have loved most in a Samantha Chase story, romance, great characters and setting, bittersweet moments and the plot twist that ties it all together. Amazing story. I could not put it down.

This series, Magnolia Sound, just keeps getting better and better. The Way the Story Goes is Ms. Chase’s latest release in this series and let me tell you this: PHE! NOM! INAL!!!!! I love this series so much, and I could not wait for it to hit my Kindle.
I was gifted with an early copy of this book for my reading enjoyment and my opinions on the book. I finished within a day of starting it. I was loving it so much I bought the Audible version as well. Yep, came out yesterday, and finished it too!!
This book kept me laughing. Mia and Austin were definitely meant for each other. Well, maybe Mia did not think so at the beginning, so much so, she started envisioning his demise in a book. You see Mia is an author of mystery novels. She came to Magnolia Sound for some peace and quiet because she was having a problem with writer’s block. This is where we come to reason Mia is devising Austin’s death. Austin is renovating the house next door, loudly, pretty much ALLLLLL DAY LONG. And Mia has had enough!!! She goes over to confront the ignorant, rude, pain in the ….. PG, have to keep this PG…lol. I will put it this way, once she sees Austin, she starts to have an additional distraction.
I loved watching these two build up their relationship. One of my favorite parts is when she went all “Momma Bear” on Austin’s aunt. In my opinion, she (aunt) was a real, ummmmm, witch!!!
I do not want to give anything away, so I am going to stop telling you about the events in the book. sI will say this, I absolutely sitting down and reading this wonderful book last week. But, when I started listening to the narrator Carly Robin, tell the story…WOW!!! She just brought this story to life and made me love it even more than I did previously.
Thank you, Ms. Chase, for sharing your phenomenal writing talents with your readers. I ALWAYS know when I start one of your books, I will definitely be entertained, and I will be able to escape into another world for a while.
Thank you for reading my review. If you are new to this wonderful series, that is not a problem, each book is a stand-a-lone with a definite HEA. Now go hit that purchase button from your favorite retailer. You will not be disappointed. 😊

The Way the Story Goes!

The Way the Story Goes by Samantha Chase is another wonderful story in the Magnolia Sound series.

Mia is a author of a number of mystery books and she is trying to write the final book. But somehow, the words just won’t come to her! She’s been struggling for some time, and finally, her best friend suggests she rent a place in Magnolia Sound as it’s off-season, and the beach, fresh air and quiet should help Mia relax enough to let the words flow. What Mia didn’t count on, the house she’s rented is next door to a house being renovated! And it seems the contractor works loudly ALL. THE TIME! Mia is not one to confront people, but she’s ready to kill the guy next door!

Austin is family to Magnolia Sound’s founder. But he isn’t the well-off part of the family. He is an architect, but he needed a project where he can occupy his hands and his mind. Off-season is the perfect time to renovate his buddy’s beachside home. When he’s not demolishing walls, building new walls and cupboards, he can play his music on high volume and belt the words out. He was kind of enjoying being alone, although he knew he would have to see his family eventually.

After almost hitting Mia with a (you’ll have to read it to figure it out), she lays into him, and they come to an agreement. They start spending more and more time together, learning to trust each other and help each other with their projects. I was so invested in Mia and Austin’s relationship, I barely put the book down! Highly recommended! I think this is my favourite Magnolia Sound book!

I received an ARC copy of this book and am voluntarily reviewing it. All opinions expressed in this review are my own and given freely.

Author, Mia Kingsley, heads to Magnolia Sound to be near her best friend and to get away from the craziness of Boston. She moves into an amazing house on the beach. The house next to hers is being remodeled and the noise is making her crazy, leaving her unable to concentrate on working. Then she meets the contractor, and it is not just the noise that is leaving her unable to work, she cannot get Austin Coleman out of her thoughts.

Samantha Chase is a queen of writing fun and sassy romance stories. The characters are never perfect, their stories are never easy, and the love that grows is always strong and true. Austin and Mia are both dealing with people who have put them down their entire lives. People who expected more from them and were never happy with what they had to do. They both have learn to accept that other people’s opinions should not force them to make decisions. They are both adults and very able to make their own choices and deserve to find their happiness.

I love Mia and Austin together. They have not come from the same worlds, yet it does not matter. The two of them together are perfect. It is when the outside world gets involved that things get messy. I enjoyed how they were together, I liked how they opened up to each other. The trust between them gave me hope that no matter what had happens until the outside world starts giving their opinions. They came together, they talked, they trusted, they fought, and they loved.

Mia Kingsley has a major case of writer’s block which is causing time delays on the book she is writing. This has already delayed the due date by a month. Mia decides a change of scenery is what is needed to get back on track. With the help of her assistant she finds herself in a beautiful house on the beach in Magnolia Sound. She is just getting settled in when her neighbor starts running power tools. Apparently he is doing some construction on his house and he doesn’t care what the people around him are doing. Unable to focus on her book she starts writing a new story. One about a noisy neighbor and how many people around want him dead. When Mia has finally had enough of the noise she goes next door to give him a piece of her mind. Expecting to find an older gentlemen, Mia is shock to find a very handsome Austin Coleman is all the racket. Word are said and an agreement is made on times that the work will be done. Hopefully now Mia will be able to concentrate. However the only thing she is able to think about is Austin. She wanted to kill him but now she wants to kiss him. When he show interest in Mia as well she doesn’t know what to do. She is so busy and only here for a shirt amount of time. Should she take a chance with Austin or will it cause a broken heart.

Mia Kingsley, thriller writer, is in Magnolia Sound battling a bad case of writer's block. She escaped from Boston because her house is being renovated and the noise was too much. Beach in the off season? Why yes, that might help her write. And being around her best friend/assistant might help as well. Not helping? The construction sounds coming from next door. They start early, end late, and are often accompanied by 80s songs and a man's off-key singing.
Austin Coleman needed some time away from Baltimore. His hot temper made it easy to jump at the chance to do a renovation for his friend's brother. While Austin is an architect by trade, he can apparently jump in and do some... carpentry? general construction? (not really explained in the book) to keep the house moving along. He didn't realize that there was someone living next door. Nor does he look before he heaves a sink over the deck, narrowly missing Mia.
And thus begins their romance. Chase's books are usually a smidge under 200 pages and I think they could often be longer. In this book, we don't really get to see Austin grow past the issues he had that got him out of Baltimore. Nor do we ever see Mia really standing up to her parents. It's a short book and I really did believe that they might have an HEA because they did, for the most part, talk to each other.

A beautiful beach house, amazing views and ....a noisy neighbor! This is how the latest installment of the Magnolia Sound series begins.

Mia Kingsley is a best selling author of thrillers but is battling a major case of writer's block. At the suggestion of her friend, Sydney, she rents a home in Magnolia Sound hoping to be able to dig in and get her next book written.

Austin Coleman has come home to Magnolia Sound to regroup. He has lost his job and feels like he is floundering in taking the next step in finding a new path in life. He agrees to spend time working on remodeling a friend's home which just happens to be next to where Mia is staying.

Power tools...loud music...and off-key singing bring them together but not in a very auspicious manner! (No spoilers but their first meeting was very humorous.) Mia and Austin come from two different worlds socially speaking but as they begin to spend time together, those differences fade away. That is until Mia's parents plan a surprise visit. Doubts begin to creep in. But, then, can they overcome the roadblocks put up by their own fears and failings?

Samantha does a great job in leading these two to their HEA. I enjoyed this book and would recommend it as well as all the previous books in the series.

After Mia went to Magnolia Sound for Sydney’s wedding she knew she would return at some point, but she never thought that she would rather go home than stay. At her rental, her neighbor was doing construction at all hours during the day and not giving her the chance to focus. No matter where she would go in the large rental she couldn’t get past her writers block. Although the construction noises were loud and she couldn’t hear her characters in her current work in progress, she was inspired to write an stand alone story. This story flowed for her and words were filling pages. But this was not helping getting her book that was past deadline finished.
Austin grew up in Magnolia Sound, but moved away for college and has only been back a handful of times. He missed his family when he was gone, but the small town life was a different story. But when a friend bought a house and needed work to make it what he wanted he hired Austin to be the man to get it done. So now he is back in Magnolia Sound, keeping to himself as much as he can to avoid the people in town.
This is a sweet with heat enemy to lovers story, of two strangers that are in town for a short while before they resume their lives. With this lead to something or be a good fling to pass the time?

I LOVED THIS BOOK! From the beginning to end it had me smiling and even misting at time because there is so much feeling in here. Mia Kingsley comes to Magnolia Sound to get away from Boston and try to finish her book. She is a mystery/thriller writer and she has a case of writers block. Sitting in a beautiful house on the ocean should help, right? You would think but there is too much noise coming from next door and the man doing work on the house...power tools during the day, loud music into the night, and the singing, the man cannot carry a tune! Finally she cannot take it and goes to confront him just as he is tossing a sink over the desk and barely misses her. Absolutely the best meet-cute story! Austin Coleman grew up in Magnolia but he was one of the poor Coleman's and left to get an education and has been living and working in Baltimore until an unfortunate circumstance of his own making lands him back home. Austin and Mia have such a perfect chemistry and he brings something out in her she didn't know she had and watching his insecurity being home was almost painful. As always, there was a happy ending and I really, really enjoyed this one!

This series is one of my favorite book worlds, but y’all, Mia and Austin are freaking adorable and so much fun! I think I grinned big enough through this book to give the Joker a run for his money!

Mia Kingsley just wants peace and quiet so she can pen her next best-selling thriller. Due to noisy remodeling at her Boston condo, she takes her friend/assistant’s advice and rents a beach-front home on Magnolia Sound. Sounds of nature, the ocean waves, and plenty of sunshine should be the perfect setting to get her words on the page. Until Austin Coleman starts work on the house next door. Power tools and loud music, and way to much shirtless, obnoxious, hot carpenter. Ugh!

This is one of my all-time favorite series, and I’ll admit, I have a favorite hero from the series, but I think Austin may have just pushed him out of the top spot. Everything about this story is so wonderful! From a setting I’d eagerly make my new home to amazing characters who are instantly loveable and relatable, this may be the best of the series. If you enjoy small-town romance with delightful characters who will own your heart, then get your copy of this one and escape to Magnolia Sound today!

Welcome back to Magnolia Sound and the wonderful world of Samantha Chase books!
Mia is a famous mystery writer from Boston who, while suffering from writer's block, has come to stay for a few months in Magnolia Sound. Her friend and personal assistant Sydney lives there and said it would be a great place to write. And renting a house on the beach sounds perfect. Until her neighbor makes it impossible with his loud music and power tools running all day.
Austin is an architect in Baltimore and originally from Magnolia Sound and has returned to do construction work on a house next door to Mia. He has some issues of his own to work through.
When Mia goes to confront Austin about the noise she does not expect to find the man she would like to strangle to be so attractive. And Austin is equally taken with Mia.
Getting to know each other and to help get through their problems is a fantastic love story that is better than Mia could have written for herself. Will they open up and learn to let go? This is a real page turner that you will not be able to put down.

I really enjoyed "The Way the Story Goes" by Samantha Chase, a sweet opposites attract romance between author Mia Kingsley and architect Austin Coleman. Both of the main characters were quite likeable and sympathetic. Austin grew up relatively poor after his father abandoned their family, leaving his mother to support him and his two younger brothers on her own. He was fortunate to have the support of his great-grandfather, however, who paid for his college education. By contrast, academically gifted Mia was the only child of two successful college professors who prioritized education over nearly everything else. Despite their differences, I really liked the two of them together; their personalities were complementary and they really seemed to bring out the best in each other. There was a wildness to Austin that seemed to settle when he was with Mia, and in return he helped get her out of her comfort zone and experience life.

I recommend "The Way the Story Goes" for all fans of contemporary romance and look forward to whatever Samantha Chase writes next.

Thriller writer Mia Kingsley has writer’s block and she is looking for some peace and quiet. She rents a beach front property in Magnolia Sound that looks like the perfect escape to get her thoughts flowing again. Her noisy neighbor running power tools and blasting music at all hours of the day and night is not helping her writing process. Since she is not having any success on completing her next novel in her current series she starts a new story with her next victim bearing an uncanny resemblance to the contractor next door with a detrimental ending.

Austin Coleman never had any interest in returning to Magnolia Sound. But after some problems in his old job he reluctantly returns to Magnolia Sound hoping to get back on his feet. Austin has a lot of unresolved issues from growing up in Magnolia Sound that relates to his self esteem. Meeting his sexy neighbor after almost beaning her with a sink will have a changing effect on him.

When Mia first met Austin she wanted to kill him. Now she can't keep her hands off of him. Both Austin and Mia have issues connected to family. But can they find a way to deal with those issues and see a life between them?

I love Samantha Chase's Magnolia Sound stories with their romantic east coast setting, their very "real" and far from perfect characters and their sweet, family based plot lines. We met Mia, this book's heroine, briefly in Kyle and Sydney's story, so when I heard she was getting her own story, I couldn't wait. I mean, a best selling author with writer's block had so much promise.
What I didn't count on was her nemisis/romantic partner. Austin, the Magnolia Sound bad boy made good is what actually connects the story to Magnolia Sound and the Coleman family that helped to found the town and whose presence has guided and influenced it from the very first book. But Austin, like Sam from the earlier books, is quite the fine, upstanding Coleman you might expect. He's a little rough around the edges and he's the perfect foil for conservatively raised, always proper and determinedly non-confrontational Mia.
I loved watching their relationship grow and blossom, and I can't wait to find out who gets to feature in the next great Magnolia Sound romance.

An interesting plot and charismatic characters welcome the reader back to Magnolia Sound, the small coastal town I enjoy visiting again and again. Mia, the reserved and proper writer of popular thrillers meets Austin, former rabble rouser and current hot...and loud...contractor next door neighbor. Her humorous reaction to his interruption of her peaceful writing expectations is one of my favorite parts of the book! And Austin’s influence helps bring a bit of fun and adventure to Mia’s largely solitary life.
Great dialogue is one of the benchmarks I expect of every Samantha Chase book, and this one fulfilled those expectations 100%. I always feel like I’m that girl in the diner, eavesdropping on the people in the next booth! Every conversation not only advances the plot, but gives interesting and valuable insight into every character in the book, not just our newest favorite couple.
I’m hoping that Ms. Chase invites us back to Magnolia Sound for a very long time to come! Even if I can’t live there myself, I can visit through the pages of the next book.

The Way The Story Goes is a story that grabs you from the start!

Mia is a writer who got away from Big City life in Boston to come to Magnolia Sound to finish her book and plot her next stories, only to be disturbed by the noisy neighbor

Austin returned home after failing to be successful out of town. It's not only about him being disappointed in himself, but his family is disappointed in him too. Austin finds work doing a lot of renovaions on the house next door to Mia's. The constant banging is part of his job!

Mia and Austin's first meeting stemmed from annoyance but quickly ignited as these two were strongly drawn to each other. What they need to do is get our of their own ways to start on the path to happily ever after.

Kyle, Sydney and Haley(who is incredible) are rich background characters that enhance the fairy tale of Mia and Austin's love story!

Take away the winter blues and head back to Magnolia Sound today!
