Heath Valen is doomed. Faced with the looming shadow of mortality, Heath meets a mysterious stranger who offers him salvation...at a cost. So begin the Wicked Games; a series of petty crimes and anti-social behaviour, building towards a grand finale Heath can only guess at, always wondering whether his morality will outweight his fear, wondering how far he'll go, wondering if salvation is too good to be true...
Wicked Games, from debut author Tommy Bartholomew, is a fascinating and unique exploration of the nature of trauma, morality and addiction.
It just didn’t catch my attention. I continued reading, hoping that the book would spark my interest. However, the writing was stilted and awkward; it was a labor to read. I gave up when the author talked about a “tumble drier” because he misused the word. Tumble dryer, not tumble drier.
