This is a savage page turner for those who love war stories! In this book we follow Orlaith (my new favorite character), King Ronan, his druid Grainne (my 2nd favorite), and Bromaid a Fir Bolg slave (whom I hate with every ounce of my being) and we go along with them as they fight for their country.

Peter has a way with words that never cease to amaze me. He can easily make you laugh with his quirky characters and cry from the spoils of war in the same chapter! His character development is remarkable and his descriptions of the events make you feel as if you were standing shoulder to shoulder with the characters.

The ending is just as surprising as the first book, Stone Heart and I am embarrassed to admit that it made me throw my phone down in anger and swear I would never pick up another book from THIS man. Lol. But I am much calmer now and look forward to the next book in this saga, Stone Soul.

This is the second book in the Stone series, and Peter J Merrigan doesn’t disappoint. We pick up on the characters we’ve come to care about two years after the first book Stone Heart finishes. The rule of serial writing is that every book should be equally as good as the last. This one picks up in pace and mysticism and is even better than the first.

Merrigan has gone from excellent to whatever goes beyond that in this sequel. It is one of the most beautifully written books I have ever read. The last book has an intelligence beyond most books out there. His knowledge and depth of research into Iron Age Celtic Ireland, is exquisite.
Emotional, Raw, Mystic and compelling.
I couldn’t put this book down.

For fans of Celtic history and character driven stories

This book is told through the eyes of engaging characters in ancient Ireland and tells a tale of war, love and family. There is an excellent blend of action, character development and romance.

The author tells a story of ancient times in a way that is accessible to every reader. I would recommend this book to fans of historical fiction, fantasy, and the works of authors such as Morgan Llewelyn and Guy Gavriel Kay.

There's more wars to be won and some things are not what they seem to be with ruthless deeds unfolding as warriors, druids and ferocious enemies come together in breathtaking battles.

Stone Forged is an enthralling authentic well paced mix of missions, general life and battles, taking you back in time to folks to love, hate, break your heart and enemies you want to take your sword to.
Merrigan has no mercy for his readers in his character plots.
