A bit about me: NYT/WSJ/USAT International bestselling author Melanie Moreland, lives a happy and content life in a quiet area of Ontario with her beloved husband of lots of lovely years and their rescue cat, Amber. Nothing means more to her than her friends and family, and she cherishes every moment spent with them. While seriously addicted to coffee, and highly challenged with all things computer-related and technical, she relishes baking, cooking, and trying new recipes for people to sample. She loves to throw dinner parties, and also enjoys travelling, but finds coming home is always the best part of any trip. Melanie loves stories, especially paired with a good wine, and enjoys skydiving (free falling over a fleck of dust) extreme snowboarding (falling down stairs) and piloting her own helicopter (tripping over her own feet.) She's learned happily ever-afters, even bumpy ones, are all in how you tell the story.

Sandy:
Behind every successful man there is a woman.
What happens when you’re the woman behind an entire team?
The final book in the USA Today best selling Vested Interest series.
Sandy Preston has been den mother, friend, confidante, and the guiding force behind the men of BAM for years.
Now they have new lives, and hers has drastically changed.
Can she move on and find love a second time around?
Will the men she considers family accept the changes?
Reid - With a horrible childhood and time spent in jail, Reid has had to fight for everything he has achieved. Although the men of BAM had given him the opportunity to work with them, Reid still feels he has to prove his worth to them everyday. But when he finds himself having feelings for Becca, will he finally see he is worthy of her love and acceptance? Or will he always let his past rule into inferiority? With absolutely beautiful characters and a storyline that was filled with so much emotion this is one of my top reads of 2018. The journey that Reid takes pulled on my heartstrings and I found myself with tears on my cheeks without realizing I was crying. Melanie Moreland once again writes a compelling masterpiece that everyone should read.
Van - 5 Stars are not enough!! I have loved this series from the first book and the BAM men have at one time or two been my favorite characters, but Van knocks them all down a notch. Melanie Moreland creates characters that the reader not only falls in love with and so wants them to get their HEA but also creates storylines that are honest and true. There is no need for flamboyant or outlandish plots or characters. Van and Liv's romance starts off with a slow burn but once it ignites they explode. Throw in her little daughter Sammy and you get another wonderful layer to Van that makes the reader sigh. Perfect in every single way - this is a series that will be re-read very often.
Halton - Wow - once again Melanie Moreland adds another hot and sexy man into the Vested Interest group. We have all known Hal as the hard edged attorney who takes no prisoners and always fights to win, but we have never seen his softer side. When a brief encounter with his arch rival's wife comes into play Fiona (Fee) takes Hal into uncharted waters. But can she soften his rough exterior and grab hold of his heart? Can Hal fight for her in and out of the courtroom? Beautifully written and emotionally driven. Once I started it I could not put it down. Five stars are not enough!!
Sandy - I have waited patiently for Melanie Moreland to write Sandy's story and it is a bittersweet read. Finally getting Sandy's HEA is a wonderful and highly emotional story that was such a great read it should have more than 5 stars, pulling at our heartstrings and making me cry more than once. However, now it leaves me with the sense of loss to realize the series is over and the BAM boys are finished. It's like saying goodbye to your favorite family that you will miss terribly - but at the same time the sense of family that the entire series has given us will last a lifetime. So congratulations Sandy on finding a second chance at love. Hopefully we will see the BAM boys once again years down the road when their kids take over. (Or maybe a holiday novella!!)
Reid I read somewhere that Melanie is the queen of the epilogue, and I have to agree whole heartedly. However, the epilogue is not the only part of this book worth reading. Reid is a forgotten child, abandoned to the system. He struggles to find his way I the world, until he walks into the BAM office. In those offices he finds one hell of a lot of firsts as he starts to rebuild his life. In the middle of all these firsts his life is thrown for a loop or 2, which he struggles with simple because he has no experience. Now one of these times had me in tears, proper I can't see to read tears. I'm not going to reveal any spoilers, but you will have every emotion with Reid on the way to his HEA. Van Oh Lord, love this story. Liv and Van are beautiful people with horrible histories, together they begin to leave their histories where they should be, firmly in the past. But when the most hideous part of the past turns up in the present, I physically felt my heart twist and my inside clench, such is the ability of Melanie as a writer. Melanie has given us another super installment in the BAM series. The family theme that runs through all these books reminds me that family isn't just blood, it can be what you make it. Halton Melanie has a nack of writing stories which draw you in completely. Halton is another of these, book 6 in the Vested Interest series. It's a stand alone story so don't panic if you haven't read books 1 through 5, it won't so you enjoying the story. Hal is a hot lawyer, who has devoted his life to family law, helping those who can't help themselves, but doesn't believe love is for him or that he had anything to offer in the long term. Sad really as he has so much to give of only he realised. Enter Fiona (Fee) Hutchings, the abandoned wife of his biggest adversary, beautiful but emotionally fragile due to the psychological abuse she has endured. Fee is a gentle soul who fell for the wrong man, but still believes in true love and happiness. Will taking on Fee's case bring Hal out of his self imposed exile from the world. This is a emotionally charged story of salvation and awakening, beautifully written and hard to put down Sandy I am gutted this series is over, that this is the final story. But I am so happy that we are ending with Sandy’s story. She is the linchpin of the Vested Interest series. Sandy has been there from the start. Before there was BAM, Sandy was there. Sandy was the guiding light for all our BAM boys and their tech genius, her favourite, the son she never had. There was so much emotion in her story. There were tears more than once but every one of them was worth it. This is a fabulous story. I love Sandy, her story everything I wanted it to be. It is a lovely goodbye to everything BAM, giving the woman who’s been there for everyone else her HEA.
This is an amazing boxset which comprises of the following: - Reid This is the 4th book in this phenomenal series and is Reid and Becca’s story. I knew that Reid’s story would be heartbreaking, and how right I was! Reid has worked hard to overcome his past mistakes, and he is the computer genius at BAM. Reid is totally enamoured with Becca, a co-worker, but every time he is near her, he turns into a stammering, stumbling klutz. It is hilarious when the other guys at BAM are giving him advice and right from the start there are numerous laugh-out-loud moments. This story can be read as a standalone, but personally I prefer to read in series order, and all these stories are interconnecting. This author has done a truly brilliant job in penning this story, which is emotional, humorous, heartbreaking, and loving. Van This is the fifth book in this phenomenal series and is Van and Olivia’s story. Olivia is a single mom with a beautiful little girl, and she has worked with Van for the past year at BAM. These two have pasts which had defined them into becoming the strong people they are today. These two have an undeniable chemistry between them, but will they act on this? This is a beautifully written story which is heart-warming, humorous, steamy, and filled with love. Halton This is the sixth book in this phenomenal series and is Halton and Fiona’s story. Halton is a broody, jaded attorney, who does not believe in love due to his past. Fiona is strong and feisty, and is soon to be divorced from her ex, but she can see through Halston and is determined to convince him that he is loved. It was great to have all the “BAM” characters in this story as they extend their comradery towards those they class as family. This is a beautifully written story which is a fantastic addition this amazing series. This story is humorous, emotional, heartfelt, sweet, and with suspense and drama, which all lead to an all-round entertaining read. Sandy This is the 7th and final book in this phenomenal series and even though I am sad to see the end, I am excited to find out what this author brings to us next. Sandy is the matriarch of the BAM family as a friend, mother, and sometime therapist to these overprotective men, and after losing her soul mate 1-year previously she is content just to keep herself busy as well as having all the boys and their significant others in her life. Jordan is also one of the BAM team and is a widower, but he has had his eye on Sandy for a while. The BAM ladies all encourage Sandy to take a chance, but how will her men all deal with this development? This is a beautiful and heartfelt story which is emotional and humorous, and filled with witty banter. This is the perfect conclusion to this series and I highly recommend for all readers.
Vested Interest Box Set Books 4 – 7 Reid, Van, Halton and Sandy
Melanie Moreland’s Vested Interest series, started my love of her books and the stories she gives readers.
This box set is the best way to complete your collection!
Reid In Reid’s story Melanie Moreland takes her readers for the sweetest ride through the lives and relationship of two of the younger members of the BAM team. How Reid treats Becca, how he shows her his feelings for her with little things like flowers, coffees and how he really cares for her. He has never really experienced love having bounced from home to home. He doesn’t know how to communicate fears and feelings. He has however, endeared himself to his bosses and to Sandy. Most especially to Sandy, he has become like the son she was never able to have and so when tragedy comes to the lives to Sandy and the men of BAM, Reid in wanting to be there for Sandy instead learns a beautiful lesson from her.
Van Van is just a down to earth wonderful kind of guy who loves his job and loves his hobby playing guitar and singing in a group and I he “has a thing” for Olivia (Liv) who is the head of BAM’s design team.
Halton Halton (Hal), is known to all the folks at BAM; we met him in Van and Liv’s story. He is a divorce/family lawyer who has made it his job to fight for the people who need him, be they father or mother or child, who needs Halton to do his work whether it be the lawyer representing one of his clients or making sure there is a child advocate available when it would be in the child’s best interest, Hal is their protector! I don’t know if he would say that about himself, but he is.
Sandy Sandy was like a mother not just to Bentley, Aiden, and Maddox, but eventually to their wives and children, like the mother or grandmother that held them all together. As time passed there were others that became family, Reid, the one who touched everyone’s heart and was very special to Sandy, then Van who was such a hard worker and then Halton and Fee, last to join the BAM family but welcomed members. All of these people became Sandy’s family. It was evident to everyone however that it was Sandy who was the heart and soul of BAM,
As I suspected, when this character first appeared in the first three Vested Interest stories, he would get his own story eventually. His backstory is already known through those stories and so the interest is there as his story is an interesting one filled with angst, mistakes and redemption.
The inevitable love story is beyond sickly sweet and even the parts where he breaks the law to help is done in such a wholesome sweet and 'nice' way you are forcibly reminded of fairytales as you have no doubt that there will be a happy ever after and you will probably have diabetes after reading it! Despite that, I enjoyed this book because like with Aiden once you cut through all the sugar there was more depth to this actual character and you actually cared about what happened to him. I give this book 4 stars.
BOOK 5 - VAN
We are now getting into minor characters and it’s starting to feel like a money making exercise. Reid I got as he played a big part in the first three stories. However, Van is a good guy but this story wasn’t really anything special. I give it 2 stars.
BOOK 6 - HALTON
Pointless story, a character who didn’t need to be written about and a story which I didn’t care about. 1 star.
BOOK 7 - SANDY
Now, Sandy has been in it from the start, and she is one of the main characters aside from Bentley, Aiden and Maddox.
This one was so sickly sweet I nearly got diabetes and overall I was pretty disappointed as she was one of my favourite characters. A very generous 2 stars for this one.
SUMMARY
All in all this set was a disappointment and was simply a money making exercise with one good story, two mediocre and one which didn’t need to be written. I give this an overall star rating of 2 but that is mainly for the book Reid which I really enjoyed but the rest were not so great so I didn't feel this set was value for money.
The Vested Interest series in a box set is a must-get and must-read, I simply love Melanie Moreland's writing. her stories and characters are brilliant. We get Reid, Van, Halton, and Sandy in this box set. Each story is enthralling, you will fall in love with each one of them. They are all full-length novels, with strong hot amazing heroes, you like contemporary romance, this is the second box set to the series, and it also gets BAM 5-stars!
You really can’t beat boxsets. They are the best value for money, and if you’ve read the previous BAM books then this is the boxset for you. It’s 4 books in 1, starting with Reid’s story. Reid is so much more than the computer whizz he was made out to be. I enjoyed every minute of getting to know this lonely, sexy as sin bad boy. When love finally comes a knocking, is he willing to put his history behind him and grab the future he deserves? Such an emotional read, my heart broke for everything Reid went through, I loved him, he was so selfless. Van. From the very first page, Van had me hooked, Van the book, and Van the person. Vincent ‘Van’ Morrison is every girl’s dream (well he’s definitely mine). Kind, considerate, a little alpha, and a whole lot of protective. All wrapped up in 6’ 3” of pure temptation. Not only is he in construction, he also writes music, and he’s in a band. Halton. Forbidden romance? Possibly. Sexy alpha male denying his feelings? Most definitely. As an attorney to every relationship issue you can think of, Halton Smithers has seen it all, and he’s lived it too, he’s not willing to put himself out there again, not even for the right woman. Sandy has been a major influencer in all the Bam boys’ lives, and it was truly wonderful to get her perspective on the boys and their company, and to see her get another shot at love following the death of her husband, which we did in fact witness firsthand in Reid’s book. Wonderful characters (I loved catching up with those cheeky BAM boys), perfect writing, and a fantastic series. I’m sad it’s come to an end, I’m going to miss them all.
Vested Interest Boxed Set #2 has the other half of BAM stories. With these stories you will laugh, cry, and at times be mad. In Reid you will read about a young man that has had a very rough life and has come to BAM for a new beginning. You will learn that new beginning means healing old scars. Van is a story about a man that has given up on having a family of his own until he joins BAM. In this story you will learn that family is not only about blood. Halton is an amazing lawyer that has always shied away from love, but what happens when he gets a case that will break down his walls. In his story you will learn that abuse is not always seen until you look further into someone's life, that love will heal and that when you open your heart you also get a family. In Sandy your heart will break only to be put back together again. Sandy is the mom to the BAM boys. She is their confidant, the one that they turn to for advice. But tragedy strikes and now she has to navigate life in a different path little did she know that her boys would have her back.
Melanie you are an amazing author thank you for creating the BAM world it was an amazing ride cant wait for the 2nd generation.
Volume 2 boxset in the Vested Interest series is sooo good. Reid, Van, Halton and Sandy may not be the OG Bam boys but these characters play such an important part in the BAM Boys’ lives. Each character brings their unique personalities and completes the series perfectly. Reid, the young honorary brother whose innocence will steal your heart, Van, the big teddy bear who will have you feeling warm and fuzzy, Halton, the serious but mysterious lawyer who will melt in into a puddle of swoon and Sandy, the glue that holds the bunch together. She is the matriarch that I fell in love with the moment she was introduced in the series. If you haven’t started this series I highly recommend picking up both volume 1 & 2 boxset and get lost in the series! It is phenomenal!
Reid was as lost boy who thought he didn't deserve love or to be part of a family, How wrong he was. Van found his other half in Liv. His love for her daughter is amazing. There is more to Halton then meets the eye and Fiona saw the real him. He's another one that thought he couldn't do love, how wrong they all were. Sandy is not only the matriarch of the group she is also the one that holds all together. She is their honorary mom. Sandy never had children of her own other then her step son, so the BAM boys became her children. They would be lost without her and even said so themselves. Sandy calls them her boys and it's rightfully so. She may not have given birth to them, but for all intents and purposes she is their mom.
Vested Interest Box Set #2 includes Books 4-7--Reid, Van, Halton & Sandy. What a joy to have them all in one box set together!!! These men joined the BAM boys/men and became part of their exciting, lovable, relatable family of friends. Sandy is the capable, strong woman who keep all these men in line. If you haven't read this series, do yourself a favor and grab both box sets -- this incredible series is one of my all-time favorites!
If you have not read the BAM boys, read it first and continue with this. Reid is the story you needed, Van and Hal are the stories you didn’t know you needed and Sandy and Jordan are the two to bring this series to a close. I cried throughout this story-happy and sad tears. I am a Melanie fan for life after reading her books. I did not want this series to end but now I ca read the Next generation knowing the beautiful stories that came before
The last 4 books in the Vested series were all good! My favourites were Reid's story and Sandy's story! Lots of good, hilarious moments but all major characters encounter a problem and there is anxiety, fear, and sadness! Terrific series is best enjoyed by reading the 7 books in the correct order, because of overlapping story lines and continuity of relationships in BAM!
I love this series! I cried through all books! It touched me so deeply. From Bentley to Sandy ever book has so many sweet, sentimental, sad and loving parts. I cried the most through Sandy...a beautiful love story! Thank you Ms. Moreland... Beautifully written....
I had actually how started reading Melanie books with the The Contract. about Richard and Katy story. But I read the stories of kid and start of ABC and Grace. It great to see how love of this family have more than blood to keep this bond
Melanie Moreland writes some of my favorite books and the Vested Interest series is no exception to that rule. It’s a great series and one of the first series I would recommend reading from her list, after my fave book of course, Into the Storm.
This is an awesome boxset. I have read all the books in the series separately and have loved every single one of them. I definitely recommend this box set and the whole series.
