Can Ben tame the monster AI?

Evacuating the planet Denali brings Ben Acosta to his knees. Thrive Spaceways is bankrupt. His marriage is on the rocks. And his homeworld Mahina is in chaos from the deluge of offworld refugees. Pushy arrogant refugees.

He’s disgraced. Fair enough — he blames himself.

But another 40,000 will die on Denali if he can’t turn this around.

Ben hatches a plan. The AI Loki is like a genie who grants wishes. A hostile, insane, ugly genie, with a track record for enslaving humans and building starships with asteroid-slicing guns.

If he can harness Loki, Spaceways can still save Denali.

Instead he’s trapped inside an airless rock with Remi. Can they survive?

Join the motley crew of Thrive for a space opera buddy story, lost in space!

After 14 years on walkabout to New York, Colorado, Texas and Tokyo, I swam home to spawn in shoreline Connecticut. A recovering computer programmer, I’ve worked in the seismic industry, semiconductor electronics, academic research in biology and environmental science, and online teaching simulators.

I live alone, and enjoy swimming, walking, and crafts. I grow vegetables indoors, until my crops spill outside and down the driveway. I read voraciously, curious about everything, especially how things work.

This story is about Sass,Clay and how their first crew has grown up to handle the worlds around them.

Sass and Clay have trained and loved their crews and love that they have grown so responsible. Ben and Cope , Able and Jules, with their starship company. Saving thousands from Denali, Sanctuary, and Sagamore. Tete and Remi who have been Bens crew and Sasses at times. Watching the kids of Ben, Cope, and Tete grow up and take their places as the next Generation coming up. But Ben has been the most amazing he has put together a fleet of starships that have the most harrowing adventures. Again can’t tell you all that happens but its fantastic and leaves you with a big lump in your throat and your heart racing.

Four and a half stars adventure!

Another Thrive book is always welcome. This one begins with Ben Acosta having physical and emotional problems while lifting evacuees from the planet of Denali. He recovers but struggles to regain lost ground by evacuating the planet of Sanctuary and relocating its AI, Loki,in the rings of Pono. His relationship with husband and business partner, John Copeland as well as their business, are both struggling to survive. Ben is then stranded on an asteroid with his engineer, Remi and their resources are running out.

Another great SIFI adventure by Ginger Booth. Ben has grown up. He is fighting his demons and treasuring his offspring. We are taken through the science of warp drive, gateways, AI and nanite technology, and space faring innovation. It is the story of one man’s growth and legacy. I really enjoyed the personal touch along with the technical struggles. This is a series that has morphed into compilation of personal journeys keeps getting better.

Puts the science back in science fiction!

Another fascinating look at the space settlers and the development and consolidation of the colonies. The explanations of the science involved with the super computers an AI are truly fascinating. A series truly worth reading.

Thrive is fun.

Loved Sass and the original thrive the best but the saga of thrive industries has also been fun. This one wraps up the series nicely. But earth and sanctuary are still nagging questions that needs answering. I hope the series explores those questions.

Intense at times

It was intense getting to link but the deed is done. Hope all goes well and Loki doesn't start flexing.
