Adriana Brinne, is a new author who fell in love with reading from a very young age but never felt brave enough to share her words with the world. Born and raised on the enchanting island of Puerto Rico, Adriana’s tropical upbringing imbued her with a deep appreciation for beauty and storytelling. By day, she navigates the world of computer science as a full-time tech, but when she’s off the clock, she indulges in her favorite contemporary romances written by her favorite authors and binge-watches The Big Bang Theory.
Adriana’s writing is characterized by her love for sweet and spicy romance, soft yet strong female protagonists, and grumpy heroes who secretly adore them. While she delights in exploring a variety of romantic tropes, she steers clear of themes involving cheating or death, preferring to craft stories that evoke all the feels without those heavy dark elements.
For a first novel, I think Adriana did a great job. The world she introduced is gonna blow up. I am so excited for every single one of the characters to get their own book. In Andrea, you're not only introduced to the two main characters and this mafia world but you're also introduced to all characters that will have a book in this series and you get hints into their story arcs and I am excited for some of them, y'all!! You’ll have your favorites, trust me ehe.
Andrea is a strong female character you'll love, I can't wait to see her take the world by storm in the next book. Her pain is ever-present and you’ll feel it along with her. I loved exploring things alongside her, finding out more about the mafia world and the secrets that some people were hiding. The truth about her family and what really happened in the past will have your jaw dropping, I know mine did at one point or two.
Our hero, Lucan Volpe, I got be honest, I didn’t fall immediately in love with him. He’s a real jerk in the beginning but once you get to know him better and the reasons behind his actions, you can’t help but start to like him. And what I really enjoyed was seeing him struggle every time he was close to Andrea. Watching him struggle with his attraction and resolve and then fall in love with her, I loved seeing that! She really did bring the King down to his knees eheh.
Lucan has two different sides to him and I can't wait to see which one will take over after how this novella ended. He's a bit bipolar in his actions, he'll drive you a little mad like he did Andrea but you won't be able to help loving him a little too. Once he realises the mistake he made💔 I need the next book asap!
Plotwise? This book is so good! Lots of surprising reveals and little plotwists that will keep you very entertained. All the little flashbacks and hints about the lives of the secondary characters will have you dying to get more of this series. Adriana Brinne has created an incredible mafia world that I know people will be dying over. Andrea is a fantastic debut novel and this series has so much potential. You’ll fall in love (or something) with every character and you’ll be so ready for more of them all once you reach the end of this novella.
You all (myself included tbh) are not ready for the rest of the series and what she has planned for all these characters!!! I am so excited!!
I have read a lot of mafia romance and you have written a world that doesn't already exist. It's so refreshing, and I loved everything you wrote, the style, the format, the fact that you have given the woman in this story so much power. No one has done this before. I am truly blown away. 🤍🤎
I’m not only blown away by the story it’s self, I’m blown away but the cover.. it is the best cover I’ve ever seen with a woman on it. You got it perfect. 💗 Andrea is perfect.
I don’t want to give anything away but all I will say is Lucan is everything, omg I love him.
I think I found my new Mafia KING.
I need his book like now. I’m desperate. I honestly can’t wait for you do add to this world.
If you love mafia romance, read this book it’s truly incredible.
Thank you so much to Adriana for letting me read Andrea early. Means the world to me that you let me be one of the first ones to read your words.
“Whatever these people throw at me, I will survive. They won’t break me. They can try but they won’t succeed. Never.”
I was very excited going into this because this was getting quite the hype and I’m just a simple girl I hear murder and mafia and I go crazy! What I liked😘 1. I liked that Andrea was a badass bitch and wasn’t your regular “fragile” girl since in a lot of books women are portrayed as weak and it fucking makes me so mad so thank god this wasn’t the scene here.
2. The side characters! Now that was interesting! I’m quite excited to read the story of Fallon and Val!! I mean the girl has a snake called Petunia as her pet so obviously I know that she and I are gonna be fast friends 🥰 also there’s a sociopath so I’m lowkey excited for Lorenzo’s story!
3. i loved the love between Andrea and her mom tho! Now that had me in the feels
What could’ve been better 👀 1. Lucan, lucan, lucan what am I supposed to do with you, babe? I mean i get that your mom left you but you don’t get to treat girls like shit😭 and specially the thing which bugged me was the way or how fast he went from want to kill her to saying “you’re fucking mine”. I just believe that could’ve been a little better. I just felt that their relationship was a little rushed.
“When it comes to Andrea, I won’t think twice before I spill her blood and watch the substance — the same color as her cherry red lips — drip from my favorite knife. I might fuck her while doing so. I’ve always been good at multitasking.”
2. I was really looking forward to getting into characters mind but one thing which set me off was that there were hardly any dialogues😭 I wanted that but well, we cant have everything we desire for.
Im excited for second book though! I wanna see what happens in this world the author created! For a debut novel, this was a good job!
“But, mom, what can be more magical than a fairytale?” I ask. “Life. It was real life, sunshine, and that makes it even better than any fairytale”, she beams. “You see, Andrea, princesses don’t write their own happily ever after and they don’t get to choose their prince. The author does and once the book is done, it’s over. In real life though, you can write your own story, choose your prince and the book keeps going as long as your heart beats”
But let's get down to business, let's talk a little bit about the two main characters: Andrea and Lucan. Andrea is a strong woman who needs to deal with immense pain right now. Newly orphaned by her mother, she receives a visit from her grandfather, who takes her to live with him in Detroit and assume the reign of the Nicolasi family. I was totally in love with the construction of the character and how, at no time, she let no one make her feel weak or inferior.
She is fierce, confident and always has a response on the tip of her tongue, which makes Lucan crazy and obsessed (who wouldn't?). Speaking of him, Lucan is a unique character when it comes to the mafia books. He is loyal to the one he loves (his sisters), strong and totally impetuous. He doesn't let anyone get in the way of his goal ... or at least not until his queen appears.
About the romance: one word can define everything: CHEMISTRY. Lucan and Andrea have chemistry and sexual tension based on “hate” and the discussions between them are pure fire. I loved how Adriana didn’t have to go around the relationship between them and didn’t even put Lucan as one of those mobsters who take a century to admit what they feel.
"𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙛𝙚𝙡𝙡 𝙩𝙤 𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙠𝙣𝙚𝙚𝙨 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙦𝙪𝙚𝙚𝙣.."
Andrea is a passionate combination of mafia, enemies to lovers and other things that may be a spoiler and I recommend reading this book without knowing anything in advance. The last chapters surprise in a way... Now Adriana, let's talk about how you will be able to launch Lucan next month please? because there’s no chance that I won't freak out waiting for this book... I NEED it. NOW.
This book builds a new amazing mafia world where the woman are just as equal as the men.
The Holy Trinity is the most notorious crime organization in the United States of America. It is run by three crime families who joined forces after a war over Detroit City.
In Andrea, the beginning, we meet all of the new faces of the crime organization and get their backstories. There are multiple POVs which I love! I wish more books had multiple POVs meaning not just the 2 main characters give us their POV.
We meet high school mafia children but this is not a YA. This is very well written and I absolutely adored this book.
Just to let you know I read this and loved this new world and all of the amazing stories but I hated part 2. I found it boring and lost interest so I don’t even know what to say about that.
In this book we get Andrea and Lucan’s love story that ends on a cliffhanger.
Andrea is AMAZING! She is so strong!! Her inner monologue rocks! I love the way she thinks! She’s always suspicious of her surrounding and loves her mother dearly. Andrea is forced to go live with the mafia side of her family when tragedy strikes. Wow that part was tough! My girl Andrea kept getting crap thrown at her from all sides.
Lucan is so cute sometimes. He’s the villain of this story but I found him straight up adorable.
I definitely recommend this read but if you hate surprise pregnancy and hate kids in books as much as I do, just know the second book will be torture for you.
A debut novel by Adriana Brinne and SHE FUCKING KILLED IT WITH THIS BOOK!!!
Once I started reading this book, for the life of me i just couldnt put it down!!!
The author has created an amazing world where the characers just speak to your soul!! I really adored every character in this book especially every girl in this book have my whole heart but our main character Andrea , she blew my mind with her attitude yet she won my heart with her love for her mom!!! #girlcrush
I honestly cant wait for all these characters to get their own books but mostly i am dying for book 2 !!!!
If you love mafia romance and heroines with all the power in their court you would definately want to check this book out. This book is just the beginning to an amazing world you are going to be obsessed with.
I WAS SOO OBSESSED WITH THE COVER THE STORY THE PLOT THE CHARACTERS EVERYTHING WAS BANG ON.
Thank you sooo much to the author for letting me read an ARC of your debut novel!! I really loved this mafia story cant wait for me.
What a fan fucking tastic job Adriana has done delivering her debut book to the world. I love finding new authors to read and it makes me so happy when they deliver a winner as she has done here.
Like I'm kinda obsessed with this world that the author has created, I ain't gonna lie. In this mafia world, the women can have as much pull as the men, including the much desired and critical head of the family.
"I won't think twice before I spill her blood and watch the substance drip from my favorite knife. I might fuck her while doing so. I've always been good at multitasking."
This book is mainly based around Andrea and Lucan. These 2 have an immediate attraction but Lucan is tasked with taking her down by his father, so all sorts of shit goes down as you can imagine. I'm loving Andrea as she ain't no weak ass fmc, she's strong and she isn't taking their crap.
And the side characters! I feel like I want all of their books tomorrow... the glimpses we got, I just want more. Fallon's story has me intrigued, I need the tea spilled asap.
It ends with some plot twists, drama, truths uncovered and has laid the platform for an amazing mafia romance series that I definitely want sitting on my bookshelf.
✔️Mafia ✔️Strong Heroine ✔️ Bad boy with an attitude
What I loved:
When I was reading this book and going in completely blind I didn’t know what to expect. Andrea is strong and doesn’t let anyone walk over her. That’s the one thing that I loved and don’t see in a lot of other books. She didn’t let a bad boy with a handsome face and a bad attitude put her down.
From the very first page, the book sucks you into the story feels like you actually in the book. There is so much detail to every page that you feel like your apart of it. There are twists and turns.
Andrea doesn’t know who to trust in this new world that she is thrown into. She has to figure out who cares for her and who is going to betray her.
This book is steamy, addictive, a roller coaster of emotions that doesn’t stop till the end of the book.
Andrea is the first book of this series and the first book that Adriana ever wrote and I can’t wait to continue this series.
Not many books make me think "I finally finished this, thank god." but this is one.
Found many characters very interesting, and the plot with the task has potential too, but I couldn't enjoy it because of the style writing. I want to read the next books for Mila, Cara, and Lorenzo, but I'm not sure if I can do this again
thank you to Adriana Brinne for the ARC in exchange for my honest review!
i see SO much potential in this series. the minute i heard it was mafia trope but that it also tied in the fashion world, i knew i would have to read this. i loved the concept so much, and Adriana truly did create a mafia world unlike any other. i really liked how the role of women was amplified, to the point where they are able to lead the families. i haven't read very many books like that. the entire plot was extremely unique and different from the "typical mafia books".
i think one thing that threw me off was the fact that this book took place while the characters were in high school. it's not something i read often, but i do understand that this book was really just building a background story, and that a lot of the real action will take place in the next book. the prologue of this book certainly has me very entranced and I'm looking forward to how this will all play out.
every character mentioned sounds complex and interesting, and I'm excited to learn more about them all. they are all very unique and bring different things to the table, and i am excited to learn more about each of them and see where this story takes them! i also really liked how Adriana found a way to include her Puerto Rican roots into the story. it added a little something different to the story.
i will say that at times, all of the different POVs got a little confusing, and i felt like Adriana had SO much she wanted to say about them. while i admire her love for her characters and how excited she is to share them with us, i think some of the POVs and backstories could have been saved for future books. it was just a lot going on. there were also a few comments made by some characters regarding the appearances of others that kinda rubbed me the wrong way. i think the intention was to make these characters seem bold and kind of “i-wont-let-you-walk-all-over-me”, but some of those comments definitely could have been left out while still allowing the characters to come off as strong. there was also one specific POV’s chapter that i had a bit of a problem with. i won’t mention the specific situation, as it is a spoiler, and as much as i liked the character whose POV it was, i hope this is resolved in future books and that their mindset is temporary. additionally, i think there was some missed opportunity for development. there were lots of jumps in the plot that didnt feel completely developed. I'm hoping the next book will be a little more slowly paced so we can really see changes in the characters / relationships / plot.
all in all, i really did enjoy the concept of this story and I'm excited to see what's happening 5 years in the future, and what that prologue was all about! i see so much potential in this series, and i think for a debut, Adriana has created a wonderful world. you can tell how deeply invested she is, and i cant wait to see her craft develop. (also this cover?? so stunning! the model is exactly how i picture "older andrea")
final rating: 3.75/5
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
This was an ok read. I honestly expected more and truly wanted to love it. But i guess this was ok-ish book for me. The story needed more background and character development. May be the next book will be better.
Adriana has woven together such an amazing world in this book! I am obsessed with the characters, the dynamics of the family history, and just the overall world that she introduces us to in Andrea. This is the first book in what looks to be an amazing new mafia series full of twists, turns, lies, betrayal, love, and heartbreak. This is only the beginning of the Holy Trinity Series and I have a feeling it’s only going to keep getting better and better!
Andrea is our heroine and she is fierce! Her life has been full of secrets and only whispers of the truth. Now that she has lost the person most dear to her, she is ready to take her life back and uncover the secrets of her past. But she didn’t quite know what she was getting herself into. Or more like who she would have to deal with on her journey.
That brings us to the infamous, Lucan. He is a cocky jerk who can be quite full of himself at times…but I love him. He is the oldest of the Volpe family and his main goal is getting rid of anything and anyone on his path to becoming Capo. This includes Andrea, but he didn’t quite expect to fall for the blonde bombshell who quite literally knocked him on his ass.
But this book is only the beginning for these two and they have quite the road ahead of them.
Adriana really hooks you in with the prologue and leaves you feeling like you know a huge secret throughout the book. And as you read, this secret is looming until the very end. If you’re anything like me, your mind will be reeling with endless possibilities and so many questions. There's so much that still has yet to happen and I desperately need another book!
I also want to mention that I love how the author has incorporated the secondary characters into this book and given them significance. It helped to develop the world of the Holy Trinity and really makes you understand the importance of the three families. It also got me pumped for future books in this series! I am holding on to hope that each and every member will get their own story! Adriana has completely blown me away with her debut novel and I can’t wait to see what’s next to come from her!
This is no ordinary mafia love story... It's FREAKING BETTER!!
Adriana Brinne created a story unlike any other and it had me hooked! I was completely taken aback by her characters and even acquired a few of my favorites <3. It will have you on the edge of your seat, biting your lip, and fanning yourself like never before!
Andrea is an absolute badass who knows how to stand her ground! She's not one to mess with and her enemy/lover, Lucan, is not just your average mafia bad boy - he's worse. Their dance is full of never-ending wild flames with the constant gamble of burning themselves and everyone around them.
I absolutely adored the side characters and definitely two in particular! >.< I'm so glad I was presented with the chance to read this amazing novel. It's well-written, easy to understand, and the plot moves along perfectly!
Adriana outdid herself with her debut novel and I cannot wait to read more!!!
Again, the writing needed to be more polished. I just felt there was no depth in the character sketch, Would have prefer more expression on the given situation.
But this is her debut so I can understand. Excited for part 2
First of all, since this is her debut novel, I wanna congratulate to her cause she really did an amazing job with this one; I’m really proud ♡
Adriana gave me a taste of this intricate story and now I can’t get enough of it !! So, as a starter book, she really did a good job and now I look forward to reading all these beautiful characters’ stories.
I have to admit that, even though I already have my favorites, all the characters are interesting.
I love the fact that in this world of mafia women also compete for power and are not intimidated by ANYONE and that men, too, knows they have to fear them and don't underestimate these tigers. I was waiting for a similar saga for so long !!
These girls are all strong but different; these boys are so charming.
𝘼𝙉𝘿𝙍𝙀𝘼 𝘼𝙉𝘿 𝙇𝙐𝘾𝘼𝙉 : Well, their story is a bit different from what I expected BUT I’m so happy that, since the prologue, she Adriana was able to amaze me.
Andrea has been through a lot for his young age, yet, she doesn't let anyone put his feet on her head. She’s a queen that’s not here to play.
Lucan too has suffered in the past, even tho he wants to hide his wounds behind his apparently cold mask. I love the way he protects his sisters at all costs.
I'm sure that in Lucan (the second book in which we will see their story come to an end) there will be even more plot twists and we will suffer, A LOT. In the hope of a happy ending for this beautiful couple, obviously ... ♡
THIS IS ADRIANA'S FIRST NOVEL? BEHAVE. TAKE A BOW YOU ABSOLUTE QUEEN. AAAAAHHHHHH, LIKE ACTUAL SCREAMING. OKOK ill be professional now... kinda. hahahhaha. Lets start off by saying of course I clearly LOVED this. I pretty much went into it blind, all I knew was that is was a mafia style book and my oh my. This girl DELIVERED. Honestly I devoured this in one sitting, I just couldn't put it down! So many secrets and badass characters that I am already obsessed with!
Andrea is my ideal heroine. She is no push over, she is a complete bad bitch and she is not afraid to stand up for herself. She will not let anyone humiliate her and get away with it. I fucking love her! Fallon really intrigues me too, I feel like I would get on super well with her, her humour and her adoration for marvel and Harry Potter? Um yes please! I neeeeeed the deets on her and Valentino's background too like goshhhhhhhh the tension is real.
Lucan. Well what can I say? I do love a bad boy who changes his mind and personality every two seconds. Hahaha he is the worst but i also love it. I really can't wait to see where this story goes and to find out more about the families and all their secrets!
My soul has been healed, I can die in peace. This was pure perfection! It's everything one could be looking for in a book. Hands down one of the best books I've ever read THAT can't be forgotten in any way. This was Adriana Brinne's debut novel and my lord, for someone who Is publishing for the first time ever this immaculate.
The storyline was amazing, the characters were phenomenal, the heroine was PURE badass, the angst was worth it, AND THE END oh god the end was unpredictable. never have I ever read a book with such a tragic yet worth-it ending. The beginning was intriguing and the end was intriguing too. This book will have you HOOKED from the first page up to the very last.
First of all, I want to congratulate Adriana. It is amazing that the first fiction she wrote is almost perfect. A good start for the Holy Trinity series ❤️
It's not just about a mafia family, it's about revelation of the truth. I loved that Andrea was aware of her power and used it. Strong female characters always make me love the book. Andrea takes a new life after losing her mother. She has to take people she doesn't know into her life in an instant. Despite this, she never fails the mask she's wearing.
And Lucan... I hated him at the beginning of the book. I really hated it! He was such a stupid character who didn't know what he wanted... As in his first sentence, all he wanted was pussy and power 🤦🏼♀️ Of course, that was before he fell in love with Adriana's strong personality and to your beauty. Seeing her moribund, seizing Andrea's charm, I was satisfied. I would like to see more of Lucan crawlin 😈😈
Andrea's demeanor and appearance were like the evil witch of the fairytale. I love this. I felt it was holding power in every line.
Especially in the first episode.
However, I think Adriana went through some parts very quickly. She seemed to jump from topic to topic. Sometimes I felt dizzy and disconnected from the story. Despite this, I'm crazy about the continuation of the series.
I'm waiting for stories from other members of the family.
I received an ARC from the author for an honest and unbiased review.
2.85⭐️ BOOK 1 is making me understand that this series is going to have a BIG plot along the way and has to be read in order according to the author's suggestion. the book is so well-written and well-prepared despite being the first book of the series. if you ever want to look at something dark romance but have a plot and still light, this could be the one.
🚨 >> spoiler alert Andrea is such a strong female lead. i love her energy and spirit. I love the way she's never bending down to anyone eventho she is "new" to the Holy Trinity world. she was—raised as an outsider and she got 0 knowledge about these dark world before. she just lost her mom and got no one. her grandpa, Benedetto which is the Capo dei capi of the Holy Trinity brought her in and assign her as the Heir of this huge crime organization. This led, Lucan, as one of the most prospectable heir to the throne is getting threaten. he was kind of afraid with Andrea's arrival—that his position will be at risk (because he is having such a big pride towards his name—Volpe). he bullied her (not to much) because he want her to be gone from Detroit but like i said, Andrea is strong and no bully can make her back down. later on, both Lucan and Andrea feel the tension between them. Lucan is deeply in love with her, but he did things (revealing Andrea's mother death condition to media) he shouldn't. he tried to fix things up before the news got published, but Arianna— which she'll got her own book— being a selfish girl that she is, stab Lucan in the back and make the media publish the news on Andrea's Birthday Party .. to save her own ass (i still dk what's her motive here, i'll continue to hate her until i didn't). and by the end of the book there is this PLOT TWIST that i didn't see it coming *le gasp* i was flabbergasted. and i feel like woah such a great idea! what a creative way to put us in twists and turns on the last pages of the book (pretty much telling me to jump right away to the second book)
▪︎ what i like about this book is that it's giving me the proper explanation and introduction about the Holy Trinity and very much averyone who's involved in this matter. which, most of the heirs and heiress are still in highschool and we got a lot from their interaction as teenagers. ▪︎ we also got another POV from Kadra, Fallon, Arianna, Lorenzo, and Cassius ▪︎ like i always said which my booktwt friends are probably getting bored to hear this again, i am a "characters oriented" reader. the book could be not that good but if i have a bond with the characters, i'll just like it. but this book is good, so what's stopping me? nothing. blame my reading slump! ▪︎ this book could've been having 3 stars if Lucan-Andrea relationship is getting a lil bit more explanation—so far i do not see them having an in depth connection beside they are constantly attracted to each other. and no matter how hard they are refusing the feelings, they are still gravitated towards each other. BUT ... i get it, the in depth explanation i desire could be written on Lucan's book. where we could read so much about his POV (because i LOOOOOVE reading his POV, i love him saying that Andrea is his Queen) ▪︎ too bad Arianna fucked up in this book
Rating this book is extremely hard because it was the beginning of a mafia series that has the potential to be an absolute highlight. However, just rating this book alone, it lacked a lot of the „usual development“ that other romance novels feature. I completely fell in love with the characters and I am super excited to read the future books because thinking about all of the secrets and bonds these families have, it will be an awesome ride to reveal them all.
„Andrea - The Beginning“ features the past of Andrea and Lucan. I really like both characters even though I haven’t had the feeling to connect with them completely. It will be interesting to get more into Lucan. His POV was intriguing but I wished we would have gotten more of them. Especially the development of their „relationship“ lacked for me depth and real development. There was an undeniable spark and tension, but they went quite fast from „we hate each other to other activities“ (not that I would ever complain about some steamy hate s*x). Frankly, I just would have liked to see them on more dates to really feel the connection.
The book focuses mostly on the worldbuilding, which is really awesome. I felt a bit overwhelmed by all the names and character connections, but I am already falling for the psychotic twins and Cara, Kadra, Mila and Fallon. These girls will bring their men to their knees I am sure of it ;-) The side characters were so intriguing and I loved that we already got a better glimpse of them by reading their POV. I hope future books also give us multiple POV because I love to get into the heads of more than just the main couple. There are already so many connections I want to explore. Mostly Fallon and Val seem to be an hellish pairing. I also want to read more about Enzo and a certain red hair girl.....dear god I am already way too infatuated with all of these couples.
Andrea was a strong and smart heroine which I really liked. She is thrown into the mafia world but she definitely doesn’t bow to anyone. I loved to see such a strong protagonist, but she also had her soft side regarding her mother. The truth about her death and some other well kept secrets definitely shocked me. It will be interesting to see the new family dynamic.
In conclusion, rating solely this book I can‘t really give it 5 stars because I missed a real development of the couple and the ending felt a bit too rushed. However thinking about the characters and their potential, I am sure the author will rock our world with the upcoming books. So there is still room to go to the top of the rating scale with the next books. I am already addicted to the characters just after this novel. I hope we don’t have to wait too long for „Lucan“ to be released because knowing that he will soon discover a huge secret, I am already jittery to see his reaction to that bomb.
Rating of the book: 3.5/5 Rating the potential of the series: 10/5
*I was provided with an ARC. Thank you so much Adriana*
First one a big congratulation to Adrianna, this book it’s so amazing and you can totally feel the passion and the love of the characters.
Andrea is the beginning of all, this book it’s like an introduction to this world, which let me tell you, it’s like nothing you’ve ever read, this book it’s centered about the teenage version of the characters, so you get to see their lives from an early point of view, and also why they are the way they are.
Andrea and Lucan are the Main Characters of this book, but you’ll find that the others will steal your heart as much as these two. Andrea is a strong confident woman, she knows what she wants, and it’s fighting to get it, she knows people will condescend her, but she is counting on it, she wants to know more about her family, she wants to understand the thinks her mother didn’t tell her, but she definitely will find more that she believed it was possible.
Lucan is an asshole, he is dark, and he cares a great deal about his sisters, he is willing to scarify himself so they don’t suffer, and ultimately that is want brings him closer to Andrea, he has a good heart, but we all know how the mafia world works, if you care, you’re weak, and he is most definitely everything but weak.
Andrea and Lucan have more in common than they realize, they have the same pain, they connect, they fight, and they just are drawn to each other, even when they know they shouldn’t, these two are definitely going to make you scream a bit.
The other characters are amazing, I for one, can’t wait for their books, I mean the Nicolasi brothers are so amazing, and deep, I need to know more about them.
The Parisini sisters are just so on their own level, I couldn’t begin to explain their personalities to you, but know this, this girls are not princess in distress, they are motherfucking queens.
Now the world Adrianna is creating is like mafia world 21th century, in which I doesn’t matter if you’re a woman, what matters is how much can you bring to the families, how well you manage yourself.
Guys you’re in for a ride, an amazing, heartbreaking ride.
I was so excited for this book ever since it was announced. The idea of mafia meeting the fashion world always seemed so appealing to me and honestly this book didn't disappoint.
I was also pleasantly surprised considering this is a debut novel and I think the author did a good job.
I enjoyed the plot and the world building which was definitely interesting and entertaining. I like the fact that girls have power in this world and they're all so strong and unique. The romance between Lucan and Andrea was fun to follow and so hot too. I'm always a sucker for enemies to lovers and this served. Now I'm even more excited for book 2 because the tropes seem even better.
I liked how strong and unapologetic Andrea is, just like I love how unhinged but also sweet Lucan is. Their personalities got me since the first chapter and I got attached to them to the point I didn't want to put the book down.
As I said I'm excited for the next book and the rest of the series because all the characters are interesting and have potential. I'm already looking respectfully at Fallon and Val and especially my girls Arianna and Kadra. Needless to say I recommend this book to everyone if you're looking for a unique mafia world.
