My name is Silver Ross, and my mom and I are on the run from my abusive stepdad.

The rain pelts down on us as we trudge through the woods for hours. We might die from hunger. We might die from hypothermia. But then we spot it, the lone house at the edge of the forest. The home of a kind man and his three drop-dead gorgeous sons.

They welcome us in and let us stay the night. In that short time, I start to get to know Noah, Archer, and Hawk. They have pain in their eyes, pain that nearly matches the one I carry in my heart. I wish I could get to know them better, but I don’t think they’re ready to open their hearts. And I’m not sure I’m ready either. It doesn’t matter, anyway, since my mom and I are ready to leave and I’ll probably never see them again.

Or will I?

So, it wasn’t bad.

This was a clean, emotional, juvenile story about Silver, Hawk, Archer, and Noah. Silver and her mom are running from her stepdad and end up at the Clarke’s home in the middle of a storm. The Clarke’s are struggling themselves with death and past trauma. Each boy has pain in their eyes and survive in different ways. Noah is the worrier and tried to take care of everyone. Hawk works out until he collapses and keeps to himself. Archer drinks and flirts and acts out.

Silver is cautious, shy, and naive. Gawd, that girl was innocence personified. But she was also an endearing character. Compassionate. Observant.

At the end of book 1 , the stepdad shows up and throws the boys into turmoil when Silver disappears. This makes them question things. How they feel, how important Silver is to them all. Lots of OTT drama with school bullies, but it was also kinda addictive.

Overall, this duet is heavy on teenage angst, but I appreciated the care taken in distinguishing each guy and their relationship development with Silver. We get one kiss each, so this is completely clean, but every once in a while I like just an easy romance and this is what that was. Not fantastic, but not bad either.

This book just went on by so slowly, it was tedious. Like the character building took so long and in the end they still feel superficial like. There wasn’t much action except at the end when it finally started picking up. Hoping book 2 will contain more action.

Silver and her mother are on the run from her abusive stepfather and on a dark and rainy night they end up taken in by a family that includes the brothers, Archer, Noah and Hawk, who have recently lost their mother. As they get to know each other, Silver finds herself attracted to all three brothers.
First of all, I think this is a book based entirely around intensive eye contact. There's curious staring, meaningful staring, confused staring and gazing at someone incredibly attractive staring. If you're not a fan of lengthy descriptions of eye contact, then this is not the book for you.
Secondly, I think I feel let down by this book as it was not as advertised. I came across it on a promotion reel released by the author and was excited at the prospect of a sexy reverse harem story. This is not that. The main character Silver is presented as emotionally and socially naive due to her abusive backstory and as most of the story is in her point of view, you just don't get the sex appeal or chemistry between her and the three brothers. Plus they're supposed to all be about 16/17 years old which is not the kind of story where you want to be reading hardcore sexy romance. And no real romance actually happens - there's lots of staring, as stated above, but mostly it's just lots of people thinking about they're mysteriously drawn to each other but don't understand it. And the insta-love doesn't really work. The plot never really goes anywhere from there. There's some teenage girl drama, but again it doesn't really go anywhere.
This is an easy read, but because of the slowness of the plot, it never feels like the story ever really gets going. By the time a vague hint of romance shows up, the book ends and it ends on a cliffhanger involving the abusive stepfather, so you just feel cheated because it's not even a complete cohesive story unless you read the sequel (which I am not going to do). I just finished this feeling glad it was short and it was over. There's only so many repetitions of how teenage boys are walking around shirtless you can actually read before it all feels icky.
Not a reverse harem story; not a sexy romance; not a complete cohesive story. 1.5 stars.

I love a good reverse harem book, it's one of my favorite tropes. But this book shouldn't be called a reverse harem. I dnf around 60%, I tried my hardest to finish it because I was more than half way through the book but there was absolutely no romance, no kisses between the boys and the FMC. Just some light hand touches or stolen eye contact moments. It was the slowest building romance and that's not my cup of tea.
You have Silver and her mother, running away from an abusive man and got stranded due to rain and flooding and ended up at the house of Karl and his three adopted sons. Noah, the sweet and shy school loving boy; Archer, the party guy who is trying to deal with the aftermath of losing his mom 6 months ago; and Hawk, a guy who is way too obsessed with working out for no reason (that I read so far). It was clear from the start all 3 boys felt something towards our FMC but being young and somewhat unsure of these feelings. After the water cleared away, Silver and her mom leave the house and try to keep running until her mother finds out that her stepdad took all the money out of the accounts, leaving them stranded once again. Her mother almost goes back to her abusive husband because of these until Silver pushes through and calls Noah, only it was Hawk who answered and came to save them. They went back to the house with Hawk and Silver got enrolled in high school with the boys while Karl helps her mom get a job so she can support herself and Silver. Noah and Silver decide to go to a party one Friday night and watched as Archer gets so freaking drunk he almost fights Noah after some heated words were exchanged with each other. That's a far as I remember reading, I swear I feel like I blocked whatever else I read.
An ick I personally had with Silver was the constant asking mainly Noah, how their mom died. Like miss girl, he has told you numerous times that he can't talk about it yet because its extremely painful for them. Granted, I feel like at 60% in the book, some of what happened to their mom could have been shared. Vise versa with Silver sharing what is happening to her and her mom against her stepdad. This story had potential to be good in my opinion but the lack of chemistry or communication made it unbearable to me.

I don’t normally give below 3 stars but really?
It’s like this book was written as one of the purely adult novels but without the adult parts. I thought maybe it had a few years in between book one and book two that made up for them being teens it doesn’t. I even read book two just in case. I mean there was some foul language within the convoluted storyline but that and the various forms of abuse was about as adult as this book got. If I was a person who DNF’d books it would have been these. I was hoping it got better in the second it doesn’t.

Some of these reviews are saying these are great books for teens or YA but they aren’t. It’s literally the opposite of a good book for a teen. It’s gives exactly the examples of what NOT to do in every situation.

Have a teen struggling with physical abuse at home? Don’t report it even though you have video evidence of it. Resulting in the deaths and injuries of multiple victims.
Have a teen struggling with alcoholism/substance abuse? Oh I got it! Have them pin all their hopes, dreams, and sobriety on a girl they have known for barely a few months. Sounds like an amazing way to deal.
Have a teen struggling with the sudden loss of a parent? Have them also pin all their emotional well being on the same girl that their brother’s sobriety depends on.

A couple things about this book...

First I enjoyed it. It's a cute book with sad undertones.

Second it's not a reverse harem. The FMC lives with her mother and another family that consists of a dad and 3 boys. Nothing sexual happens...as of yet...

Anyways, I really did enjoy the book. Silver and her mom escape her abusive step-dad and run into Karl, Hawk, Noah, and Archer. Karl is a good dad who is trying to survive after losing his wife. Heck all the family is. Hawk works himself to the bone by working out to the extreme. He is the "bad boy" who is a great guy. Noah, oh Noah, is a sweetheart. The definition of the perfect boy. Smart, sweet, the works. And Archer. Oh Archer. He has such a past and drinks to numb his pain.

Together these 3 boys and their dad help Silver and her mom.

The book itself was good. Cheesy and predictable at times (that sleepover...yeah...) but it's still cute. It leaves on a cliffhanger so I need to start book 2 now.

This one is a quick read. Feels like a contemporary young adult story. Silver and her mother Becca are running from an abusive relationship and come across a house while running in the rain. The Clarke household lost their mother six months back and while silver and Becca seek shelter in the house it seems the Clarke family is starting to heal with their presence. This is the first book in the duet and is basically building up the story and ends at a cliffhanger when the abuser find the two.
I felt the story has the right emotions though the writing at places put me off. As an adult reading YA books, the characters seem unbelievable for example the physique description for 16-17 year old boys doesn’t feel right. But when I look at it from a teenagers perspective. Well maybe that’s what people you idolise as kids seem like? But that’s on me.

Well, ok... Let me start by saying, for a YA book, it.was...cute? Well, not the abuse.portion but writing style, I guess.
If you are a teen or young adult, then yes. This book is for you and your parents shouldn't worry too much.

However, it is marked.as a.reverse harem but, I'm not sure why... Maybe the next.book? But I don't get those.vibes from this book.
Again, maybe that will change is the next.book but judging by the preview, I think it's more just about multiple kids having a.crush on the.same.girl.
Reverse harem is when the girl is WITH multiple guys... So far.she only has shared A single kissing session with one of them... Sooo, again, not a reverse hare. At least not imo.

But hey... Read it. It's... Interesting...

Becca and Silver are running away from an abusive home. They run into a house in the woods with the Clarke boys. 3 teens that have their own trauma and are missing a piece of themselves. The girls stay with them for a few weeks/months as they get on their feet. Silver starts school with the boys. They move out into a small apartment. Silver wants friends and the popular girls that want Archer, start to befriend her. Typical nasty bitches invite her for a sleepover then ditch her in the middle of nowhere. Hawk saves her- yes yes yes. 👍 After a day at the beach with Noah, Silver is happy, she’s told him her past and they’ve had kisses, so cute! it ends with HIM- evil step dad finding them at their apartment. Into book 2.

DNF @ 38%.

it started out strong with a good, simple premise. but i don't like where it's headed with the OW drama; im tired of these sort of supremely caricature-like mean girls. and one of the Hs who thinks about how he doesn't like the main mean girl "but is gonna party hard with her anyway". like, no thanks.
i don't mind reading romance set in high school, but i do expect the characters to have some maturity beyond their years if im gonna take it seriously that they later wanna try a polyamorous relationship with the heroine.
the interactions between the main characters have also turned shallow. nothing really happens, and they don't talk about anything. it gets repetitive.

DNF after the 30% Every step in this book was completely predictable. The story was completely unrealistic. It got to me how FMC asks herself at the beginning of the book if they are still in the same state after they HAVE walked for hours through the woods :D Like whaaat? :D
IDK how old she is, or the boys, but they were acting strange. She and her mum were running away from the abuser and she is totally ok with strangers? Does not like this book. How can this book have such a high rating? I mean, the idea is good, sort of, but the writing, oh God.
And RH? Are you for real? They are children!!

Welp this duology recked me! I feel like I’ve been In a haze for the past couple days just wondering what was going to happen next to silver her mom and the Clarke boys.
Silver and her mother Becca escape a abusive relationship and end up finding safety with Karl and his 3 sons. Each character has gone through rough times and each go through healing as they grow closer together. There is clearly a romantic element to the story and you’re left wondering who she will pick at the end of the first book. Let me tell you I was not happy with the ending of the second book! 93% in. almost done and there is a massive gross twist that I just can’t believe the writer wrote. I’ve never felt so appalled! The first book I gave 5 stars, the second 1. Don’t even bother.

The idea was alright, but the plot didn't really stick with me. I could get behind the boys being sad about losing their mother, but I never really felt connected to their tragic pasts, because of the way it was written. Archer constantly having a flock of girls after him was totally over the top, no matter how popular or hot he is. Meanwhile, it was very slow-burn. Silver and her mother's past was also a bit hard to believe. Not that it wouldn't be possible, but there were just a lot of things that didn't add up. I ended up skim-reading it.

A 1.25 at best.

I think this one might be the worst of the year for me - but I respect the author's effort, and apparently there's a second in this series that I will absolutely not be reading (as the first ends on the world's most predictable cliffhanger).

I wrote out a whole review and goodreads didn't save it and I don't have it in me to re-live this experience so just know, this ain't it. It's stiffly and formally written, it's repetitive, it's not compelling.

I will not be reading book 2.

This book and the following book are so poorly written. There is no real relationship development in the whole thing. Silver and her mom show up and all of a sudden she has this deep connection with these 3 guys. Parts of this book and the next have times where they are talking and behaving like a large amount of time has passed (thus their relationships have been growing)but its only been a few weeks. Disappointing. Also this book isn't a reverse harem. It's not even really discussed in this book.

Amazing!

I loved it! Mia Belle is a new author to me but not anymore I'll be reading the next book like now. The writing was fantastic, I really felt like I was there living through all these emotions right along with them. I totally cried multiple times and I'm not ashamed! Super sweet, great read,1000% recommend!

2.5 stars, I loved the concept of this book, but the writing was a little unrealistic, and it was laughable that they thought the Stepdad (who has police connections) wasn’t going to look for them/ find them pretty quickly. The timing felt very quick, and it kept feeling like more time had passed than actually had. Might read the next one

beautifully written

I enjoyed this book, the storyline was well thought out.
The characters have depth, I felt this book was setting the scenes. Where you meet the characters and get a feel for it all.
The slow burn was great and really sweet. The bullying aspect was interesting.
Overall a good book and I look forward to reading more of the series

My god the writing was terrible. Constant repetition, "staring with an unreadable on his face" and then continues to guess domething way too specific and right, "not like any girl bs and what the fuck was Bre's character she was so unrealistic. No fucking personality, only their traumas and just whiny monologues. Can't believe I even read the second book

Great start to a series!

I couldn't put this book down. It is a slow burn romance. All the main characters have some sort of trama in their past. Little by little you learn more about their past. This ends on a huge cliffhanger.

Good

This story was good. I don’t typically read YA but this was not bad. Silvers character is real and raw and you feel for her. The boys same thing. It’s interesting that you see three different ways of coping with grief with the boys.

slooowww but the tension was delicious

I’m not a huge fan of slow burns and sometimes reading high school is hard. However, this was beautifully done and the burn and tension was absolutely delicious. Mia Belle has a new fan and I am so excited to read book 2!
