Astonishing observational power, super unrestrained, brutal gong x not-what-he-seems-to-be, super fierce and scheming shou.

“In accordance with the ’Mites’ agreement, both of you will work together on the serial murder cases at the Tingbo District”.
Shi Shanyan deleted the information and re-entered it.
"How honest is this character, did I kill him? No, I didn't shoot him with a gun. It was the public opinion who killed him. He was already notorious and everyone shouted and beat him. The keyboard is more powerful than a gun. I like this thing. It can kill a person hundreds of times in a second."
🔪
"Don't forgive me," Shi Shanyan's voice was calm, "don't forget me."
🔪
"We can live until winter," Shi Shanyan bowed his head, and was very close to Yan Junxun, "You take me to see the snow, right here. I wake up in the morning and say'hello' to you, and right before going to bed at night You say'love you'." There is something missing in his heart, like time that can't be grasped, and memory that will disappear, "I will only love you."
This world was so bad that it took too much of Shi Shan Yan. At this moment, Shi Shanyan just wanted to grab Yan Junxun. All his desires for Yan Junxun were real, real to horrible, real to scaring himself.
"You won't leave me," Shi Shanyan asked in a low voice, "right?"
7-004 adjusted the direction of the muzzle at the mouth of the pipe, and he noticed that the water at the top was flowing more and more, like rain. He must solve Yan Junxun immediately, and a sense of urgency urges him to make him have to act.
Yan Junxun answered Shi Shanyan: "I will not leave you."
Yan Junxun appeared in the 7-004 scope, his index finger resting on the trigger, breathing steadily in a moment of silence.
"Lying," Shi Shanyan stared at him, "you lied to me."
"Then you punish me." Yan Junxun quickly kissed Shi Shanyan.
🔪
Yan Junxun couldn't move, his wrists suddenly became hot, and the shackles were locked onto his wrists in the crisp "click"! His head was stuck high by Shi Shanyan, and the two were close as if they were about to kiss.
"Come to me as soon as possible," Shi Shanyan's restraint was as thin as paper, and uncontrollable jealousy was boiling underneath, "Otherwise I will kill you."
------
Feeling conflicted about the rating. Def will pick up more from this author.
UPDATE: really had to tell u that Sgi Shanyan def has a foot king (only for Yan Junxun tho) and the second Junxun gets over his inner dilemma he is def gonna be the Dom in the relationship. Hmmmm

Couldn't finish this. This is a detective novel set in a futuristic China. There are four to five large cases, and most of the novel's focus in each case is on the psychology of the killer. I really liked the first case (although I had some issues with how a victim of rape became a serial killer) but I stopped at 50% because the nonconsensual nature of the main couple's relationship was too much for me. There was some really interesting stuff about twelve Greek gods (Athena, Artemis, Zeus, and Ares have been introduced) and I think for readers who aren't uncomfortable with the noncon, this would be a creative detective/psychothriller novel.
Solo te amaré a ti.
Simplemente LEAN TIME LIMITED HUNT. Por cierto, hay una secuela y actualmente la estoy leyendo y JODER T97 BASTA POR FAVOR ME DEJAS EN EL PISO CON TANTA LITERATURA!!
One reviewer on NU described this book as a mix of Hannibal and Psycho-Pass, which is quite apt. I'd add that there are also some shades of Ergo Proxy throughout, from the Greek pseudo-gods to some of the more abstract parts of the story.
All comparisons aside, Time-Limited Hunt is a complex and compelling posthumanist futuristic thriller in its own right, one that warrants careful reading and probably a reread or two, to catch all the tiny details. It's an experimental work, yes, one that leaves some questions open - questions like "Huh?", "How?" and "What the absolute fuck, Fu Chenghui?" - and apparently one the author herself isn't quite satisfied with, which didn't stop me from enjoying it. Some things could've been improved upon: for one, while we get a lot of insight into how SSY feels about YJX, I would've liked to see more of YJX's feelings for SSY and how they change with the revelations in book 4. There might also have been a more natural way to integrate the exposition dumb in the first three extras into the main story. But those flaws are minor and don't take away from the story's strengths, one of which is T97's exceptional prose. I especially liked the 4th extra, set in SSY's past, that goes full laconic neo-noir.
This is also a story that includes both, a serious and sensible approach to rape/sexual violence and the public judgement survivors often have to deal with on top of it, AND erotized non-con between the romantic couple. Undoubtly not everyone's cup of tea, and I'm not the biggest fan of non-con myself, but imo it makes for an interesting juxtaposition.
Due to the comparatively short length and the story being rather action-packed, I wasn't quite as invested in the characters as when reading QJJ or Nan Chan - with the exception of Su Heting and Jue, who're both very precious and MVP. So, while TLH might not be my favorite book by T97, it firmly cements her as one of my favorite authors, and I'm looking forward to continue with ZDJJ/RoT.
I’m not sure how I feel about the story itself. Is it unique ? Yes, definitely but It’s not my cup of tea though it was very interesting. I liked the main characters Yan Junxun and Shi Shanyan and I think they are very well written I wish I could meet them but in another story. A fanfic maybe?
Sadly I didn’t finish reading it. I gave up 54% in.
Anyways, qué alguien que traiga 准点狙击, que quedé con las ganas.
I will reread this more carefully, because frankly I didn't exactly piece everything together. But, one thing for sure, Tang Jiuqing romance line is so-damned-good.
