A Dinosaur Made Me Sneeze is a rip-roaring adventure traveling the rock cycle, cruising through time, and landing home in time for dinner! This incredible story introduces changes through the Earth's history, three types of rocks, and more! Watch out for asteroids and volcanoes along the way!
The adventure begins one evening when Martin (how do we say this nicely??) sneezed all over the dinner table! But did the adventure really start there? Oh no! It actually began more than 65 million years ago...
Martin takes you on an adventure with dust, dinosaurs, a crazy skink, sneezes, and volcanoes...through millions of years, the rock cycle, and more!
Science topics that the story includes are the rock cycle; rock cycle processes (like erosion and sedimentation); types of rocks (sedimentary, igneous, and metamorphic); matter cycles and changes; and changes to the Earth -- perfect for dinosaur-lovers, classrooms, and homeschools!
One of the most delightful, yet educational children’s books I’ve read in a while. The illustrations are simply gorgeous. What a fabulous way to teach kids about rocks!!
Carla's affinity and passion for teaching Science is a hallmark throughout this book. By introducing children to the rocks and helping them to think about science in a creative and engaging way, she is helping them to explore new mindsets, and opens their eyes to the possibilities of the scientific world around them. This book makes learning enjoyable, in a much different way than a textbook, with vibrant and expressive illustrations. I highly recommend, for any future scientist, STEM star, or child who has a passion for learning.
A Dinosaur Made Me Sneeze is an adorable story of the history of rocks combined with educational facts. The story is engaging and very well written and illustrated. I plan to use this book with my grandchildren in our homeschool. I hope there will be more books to come!
I thought this book was cute and could be used well in a classroom. I like that the book has humorous things like sneezing at the dinner table and blaming it on a dinosaur. I also really like that the book has a lot of information about rocks... it allows for kids to want to learn more about these things. I think this book would be great for a read-aloud in a classroom for younger kids, maybe first or second grade.
Absolutely loved reading this book! It makes learning about the rock formation cycle super fun while explaining it in simple terms for young readers. This would be a great literary choice for primary age students. The illustrations were colorful and interesting with the different dinosaurs to engage readers. The illustrations also demonstrate well what rocks look like as they are being formed. I highly recommend reading this book!
This book was a rhyming book with talking about the rock cycle. It was very educational book and it helps kids learn the different kinds of rocks. I also loved the pictures with how it included dinosaurs as well which kids will really enjoy to keep them interested in the book.
