Where the Lovelight Gleams - 5 Stars (my fav)

This one is my favourite of this collection. It's a romance between two co-stars of a sci-fi TV show. There's yearning, mutual pining, and a cosy cabin setting with a bed that is far too small for the both of them.

Eight Nights in December - 5 Stars

A close second. It's the first holiday season after Lucas' dad passed away. It is also his first year at college, and he fully expects to spend the holidays alone on campus. But then his roommate's mother invites him to spend the time off at their house and won't except no for an answer. It's there that he meet's his roommate's older brother, Nate; the guy he'll be sharing a room with.

I loved Lucas and Nates relationship. The found family was excellent.

In Case of Emergency - 4 Stars

This is another great one. After moving to a new city, Cole's ex-stepmom advises him to put his ex-stepbrother Daniel down as emergency contact, as he lives in the same city. They were only stepbrothers for 6 months and have not spoken to each other in 10 years.

When an accident leads to Cole having a concussion, Daniel has bring him along on his vacation getaway to watch over him. Alone in a snowy cabin, Coles crush is full on reignited and Daniel is certainly taking notice.

Santa Daddy - 3 Stars

When I originally read this, I gave it 2.5 stars but Kirt Grave's narration is just so good I bumped it up to a 3.

While it has some nice spice, I was just left wanting a more from the story. Also Hunter's attitude was very grating, I couldn't put up with him.

there are four short stories in this book, narrated by Kirt Graves, who apparently is not good enough for my ears anymore; the plots are overall good and sexy but there’s just something I didn’t quite like and kept me rolling my eyes. here’s a BINGO CARD of what to expect in most of the stories:
1. a nerdy mc or both
2. an injured mc
3. a virgin mc
4. a blonde mc
5. a dead parent or more
6. vers mcs
7. insta love
8. a cringy eye-roll inducing line after a sex scene

Review for the Audio Edition of Keira Andrews' Gay Romance Holiday Collection performed by the marvelous Kirt Graves.

Eight Nights in December
I'm so glad I finally got around to this one! It's a great story, really sweet and very clever.

In Case of Emergency
Loved this story when I read it, it's even better when read by Kirt Graves. He does such a sweet voice for Cole. And when Cole turns out to be a little bit dommy, well it's even better!

Santa Daddy
Keira Andrews always knows how to spin a tale, and Santa Daddy hooked me from the very first scene. These characters are so engaging, and the story is sexy and sweet. I can’t think of a nicer way to start off the holiday season.

A gruff, buff mall Santa? What elf could refuse? Well sweet and dorky Hunter sure can’t. As soon as he claps eyes on Nick, he can’t get visions of sitting on Santa’s lap out of his head! It turns out all of Nick’s bah-humbugery is due to some sad events in his past, and a little bit of Christmas cheer goes a long way to turning Nick’s outlook around.

The descriptions of their first meeting, and the following “Visit Santa at the Mall” scene had me in stitches. Honestly, the humor flows all the way through this story and Ms. Andrews manages to sneak in a fair number of heartwarming moments as well. This one’s light on the angst and heavy on the fun, and just as well written as any of her stories.

Kiera Andrews’ spin on daddy kink is truly adorable. There is just the right amount of affectionate passion; there’s nothing dark or naughty about it. So if you’re looking to dip a toe in (without diving in head first) Santa Daddy is a great place to start.

Where the Lovelight Gleams
A very sweet, kind of friends (co-workers) to lovers, first time for one of them, romance. Available in audio in Keira Andrews' Gay Romance Holiday Collection, Where the Lovelight Gleams is nicely performed by Kirt Graves.

I had previously read all the novellas in this audio anthology and having them bundled in a neat little aural package is a big treat.

The narrator does a great job of keeping the characters as individuals in each story and the length of each tale is perfect when real life is busy but you still need an escape to a happy place.

Listening to this anthology will become an annual holiday (or anytime of year) tradition for me.

Eight Nights in December: 4 stars.

When Lucas spends the holidays with his obnoxious roommate's family, he is as surprised as anyone that Sam's little brother and he have that spark that we all search for. But Nate's not exactly out to his family and Lucas is going back to classes, so how is a relationship between the two feasible?

I really liked this one, mostly because Lucas is adorable.

In Case of Emergency: 4 stars.

Daniel's not exactly thrilled to receive a phone call from the hospital that his former stepbrother, Cole, is in the hospital and in need of someone to come take him home and make sure his concussion does not get worse. Daniel hasn't seen or talked to Cole in years, so why did Cole put him down as his emergency contact? Perhaps because Cole's crushed on his older former stepbrother for as long as he can remember?

This one is sweet and super steamy. The perfect holiday read.

Santa Daddy: 4 stars.

Hunter is back home for the holidays and trying to find a "real" job. The only thing he can get so far, though, is playing elf to the grumpy Santa his old boss has finagled into being jolly one last time before the mall closes forever.

I'm the first to admit I'm not into the whole Daddy/Little thing, so this one wasn't really my kinda story. But aside from the Daddy thing, the rest of the story is pretty good, especially the way Hunter and Nick realize how they feel about each other.

Where the Lovelight Gleams: 4 stars.

When Cary actually takes Ryan up on his offer to spend the holidays with Ryan's family, Ryan has no idea how Cary has been pining for him. But he'll soon find out!

I loved this one. It's really sweet, definitely steamy, and the two are great together.

If you like your holiday romances with lots of heat and heart to spare, this is the perfect box set for you.

Great collection of holiday-themed short stories, low-angst and perfect to give you the warm-fuzzies as you read curled up by the fire (okay so it's summer in Australia but a girl can dream, right?).

I listened to the audiobook, narrated by Kirt Graves. Overall I thought the narration was great, he did a very good job with the female voices as well. The Scottish and English accents were...wobbly at best, but not downright shocking.

________________

1) Eight Nights in December - 4.5 stars
Lucas is guilt-tripped into joining their family Hannukah celebrations by his college roommate's mum. I feel this, this is something that's happened to me personally a few times so I always love this trope.

Told from Lucas' POV, we watch him fall for Nate, his roommate's brother who he has to bunk with while at their home. Lucas is sweet, unsure what he's doing but curious to explore sexually. Nate is confident and cheeky, but secretly insecure. Nate isn't looking for a relationship though...or is he?

There's a lot of sex in this for a short story, and it's well-written. I liked the little exhibition scene in the club.

Lucas is still grieving his father's death and his emotions are at the forefront, making this seem really genuine.

I also thought the epilogue was marvelous. Sweet and cozy without being cheesy.

________________

2) Case of Emergency - 4.5 stars

My personal favourite.

Just as he prepares to leave for a romantic getaway with his new sort of boyfriend, Daniel receives a call. His stepbrother has listed him as his emergency contact and is in the hospital, except they haven't even seen each other in 10 years.

On doctor's orders, Cole accompanies Daniel on his holiday, where it turns out that Justin, the sort of boyfriend is actually a massive wanker. As soon as he's out of the way, all bets are off because it turns out that Cole has had a massive crush on Daniel since he was a kid, and Daniel, demi-sexual, is surprised to find he can't keep his eyes (and hands) off this beautiful, grown-up young man.

We see the story from both men's perspective which I always appreciate. They make such a nice pair, so cute and domestic. There's a healthy amount of sex in this story too, including a steamy scene in the hot-tub.

The epilogue was perfect, one of the best I've read in a long time.

________________

3) Santa Daddy - 2.5 stars

Hunter, a recent college graduate, hasn't managed to find real paid work in the big smoke and finds himself working as an elf in his hometown over the Christmas break.

What he wasn't expecting, was that Santa would be a sexy daddy. Nick, 46, agreed to do this as a favour for a friend, with the intention to immediately retreat back to his tree farm and away from everyone. He does need a helping hand at the farm though, and who better than Hunter to fill the position?

Look, I wasn't sold on this one. The emotional development was near non-existent, and the daddy kink felt kind of forced.

I thought it was a nice touch that Nick sometimes spoke (in his mind) to his previous partner, who passed away in an act of bravery - the little comments of him egging Nick on to pursue Hunter seemed very tender.

________________

4) Where the Lovelight Gleams - 3 stars

When colleagues Ryan and Cary share their first kiss...it's while filming an upcoming scene for the sci-fi TV show they star in. Ryan's fantasy of kissing his straight best friend is finally fulfilled but it's left him wanting more, and when Cary takes Ryan up on his invitation to join his family for Christmas, Ryan has to try his best not to get carried away. Little does he know, Cary has also been pining after him for months.

This story was fine, didn't love it, didn't hate it.

I know they'd been friends for a while at this point but I didn't really feel the connection between them. It felt like everything was rushed, and Ryan put too much pressure on Cary coming out, when he was really still working things out for himself. The big climax point was too contrived as well, and wished that these two men could have just, you know, talked about it.

This was a Holiday MM Romance collection of 4 short stories. I honestly loved them all.

Eight Nights in December - Lucas has lost both his parents and will be staying on campus for the Christmas break. But his roommates mom is not having that and she invites him along to stay with them and celebrate Hanukah. Lucas meets Nate, his roommates geeky brother. They have a cute little fling that turns into more.

In Case of Emergency - Daniel is on his way to what he thinks will be a sexy getaway with a guy he's been sort of hooking up with from work. But he gets a call from the hospital about his step brother, Cole, being in an accident and Daniel is his emergency contact. They have't seen each other in years and their parents have long since divorced. Daniel takes it on himself to take care of Cole and brings him along. Things don't go so well when they arrive at the chalet and the getaway ends up to be just Daniel and Cole. Who realize they are definitely not brothers and have both changed since they've last seen each other.

Santa Daddy - This is actually a little spin off from Merry Cherry Christmas by Keira Andrews that I recently just read. Which is why I ended up with this collection of her short stories. We meet Nick and Hunter in that book and get their story in this book. They meet at the mall where Nick is playing Santa as a favor for a friend and Hunter is back in town out of University needing a job for the Holiday as Santa's Elf. Nick enjoys being a Daddy in the bedroom, but is a very grumpy guy outside of the bedroom. He lost his partner in an accident a few years back and hasn't been a Daddy since. Hunter has always been attracted to older men and wants to submit in the bedroom. But he has never met the right guy. Until now.

Where the Lovelight Gleams - Actor Ryan Drake is starring in a TV series with the hot Cary Holloway. They are love interest on the show. But in real life, Cary is straight. Or is he?

Such a fun Holiday read. I did listen to this collection via audio. Read by Kirt Graves. Love his voice. Highly recommend.

Eight Nights in December—3.5 stars

Short and sweet read! Pacing was a little rushed, which isn't uncommon in short stories in this genre, but overall an enjoyable read.

In Case of Emergency—3.5 stars

Short and sweet. Not a ton of substance or angst here, and things definitely developed quickly, but it was enjoyable enough as a bit of holiday fluff.

Santa Daddy—3 stars

Fun, sexy, holiday read! This was a pretty quick and easy read with charming characters, minimal angst, and lot of sex! I did think the introduction of the kink was a little sudden/clunky, but I wasn't too bothered by it. The ending was also a little rushed and moved a bit quickly, but for what the book was, it was fun, well written, and enjoyable.

Where the Lovelight Gleams—TBD stars

Short, light, sweet. Felt pretty generic and formulaic, and moved a bit quickly, but I enjoyed.

No specifics, just a few random thoughts:
*I found all of these stories entertaining enough but a little on the bland side. Nothing terribly swoony.
*The last story fell particularly flat. Those boys were immature and couldn’t communicate worth a darn. The big crisis that led to the resolution felt a little gimmicky.
*Liked Santa Daddy the most for sure.
*KA's writing is always very good, even if I don't love the final product. She def knows how to create a Xmas/holiday atmosphere in her books

Keira can’t be beat

This collection is SO fun and SO sexy and sweet. You can’t really beat Keira’s storytelling, even in novella form. All four of these have their own unique plot with the same Hallmark feel with a side of naughtiness that’s just perfect. These will be an annual re-read for me for sure.

This was a fun Christmas in August. Eight Nights in December was my favorite of the 4 stories; I loved everything about it and would love more of those two. Where the Lovelight Gleams was my least favorite; Cary is annoying and I just couldn't stand him. Keira Andrews is always fun to read.

I listed to the audiobook for this one and I have to say Kirt Graves did a fabulous job as always! I'm going to leave the rating blank on this one though because I don't feel it's fair to rate them all together since I enjoyed the books to different degrees. I will add my ratings to the individual book listings instead ✌🏻

Delightful bundle of holiday cheer (an audio review)

I’m not even sure where to start with my review. I have to say I’m known as a bit of a Scrooge when it comes to Christmas – getting together with family is okay, but the rest of it? Not interested. Of course, this year is different and I’d do anything to have a normal Christmas. Ah well, not to be. All that being said, I headed into this collection with high expectations because I have yet to listen to a Keira Andrews book I didn’t love and Kirt Graves is a fave of mine as well. I believe this is their first collab and I hope it won’t be their last. Kirt does great narration and this series of novellas worked with his voice. That being said, he missed a couple of pronunciations because he’s not Canadian, but only a Canadian would catch the mistakes.

Which leads me into the first thing, aside from Kirt, that I really loved about these books. They are all unapologetically set in Canada. I’m a proud Canadian who loves reading books that are set in Canada (and other countries as well, to be sure, but Canuck all the way). I also love that not every book centers around the Christian Christmas. There was variety in the stories and their approaches from the devoutly religious to the barely mentioned. A little something for everyone. For instance, in Eight Nights in December, I learned a lot about Hanukkah and Jewish traditions – things I knew almost nothing about. I also got a sexy story about two young men struggling to figure out what they want and discovering that it’s each other.

In Case of Emergency was a lovely story about two men who were barely stepbrothers a bunch of years ago but who come together when one is injured and needs help. Who knew being a klutz could lead to meeting up again with the man of your dreams? And who knew connecting with someone from your past would enable a profound understanding of who you are fundamentally? And how powerful acceptance can really be.

Then there’s Santa Daddy. Hunter is newly graduated from university but has been unable to find a real paying job in Toronto. He comes home, north of the city, and lands the job as an elf to the hottest mall Santa he’s ever encountered. Nick might be attracted to the new elf in town, but this Santa is grumpy and solitary for good reason. Only when Hunter invades Nick’s Christmas Tree Farm do fun times ensue. Nick gets to play Daddy to a very naughty Hunter. But with Hunter heading back to the city in the New Year, is a happy ending possible? Of course, there’s Toys, Turkeys, and Trees. Maybe grumpy Santa can come back into the light and away from the darkness of grief once and for all.

Finally the collection is rounded out with Where the Lovelight Gleams. Ryan has been in love with his co-star Cary for as long as they’ve known each other. Ryan home heads to Canada for Christmas to escape the Hollywood insanity, only to find Cary following him. Cary (named after Cary Grant) claims he also wants to get away from the pressure, and Ryan’s off-handed offer of a Christmas in a little cabin in Muskoka is the perfect solution. (I’ve stayed in a similar cabin in Muskoka and can tell you some of those places are tight quarters.) Somehow the two men find a way to connect in a way they never have before, and suddenly Ryan is questioning whether Cary is as straight as he portrays himself. Cary comes from a long line of Hollywood royalty and if news got out that he was bisexual, it’d be a disaster, right? Well, yeah, maybe Cary is willing to risk everything for Ryan. Just quickly – this story is told entirely from Ryan’s point of view while the other stories in the collection are split POVs.

Well, writing that review was pretty easy because I enjoyed the trip down memory lane. Each story was unique and added just the perfect cheer to this dreary holiday season. So well done Ms. Andrews and Mr. Graves. I look forward to more collabs in the future.

Gay Holiday Collection is four steamy holiday reads by author Keira Andrews. Each story has a different holiday theme which I really liked. I also like the sizzle in these stories. The following is the publisher’s blurbs and the titles included:
Eight Nights in December
Orphaned Lucas figures spending Hanukkah with his obnoxious roommate’s family in New York City is better than staying alone on campus upstate. He ends up sharing a room again, this time with his roommate’s brother. Geeky photographer Nate isn’t at all what Lucas expects. In fact, he’s incredibly sexy—especially when he invites Lucas into his darkroom...

Features secret trysts, new adult angst, spinning the dreidel, and of course a happy ending.

In Case of Emergency
After years alone, Daniel Diaz is finally ready to shake up his orderly, solitary life. He's about to leave for a cozy Christmas getaway when he gets the call from the ER that his former stepbrother has been admitted with a concussion and a broken hand—and Cole put him down as his emergency contact. Why the hell would he do that? Daniel barely knows the guy. But Cole has no one else to look after him and strict doctor's orders not to be left alone. So, fine, Daniel will bring him along on vacation...

Features former stepbrothers reconnecting as adults, sexy hot-tub shenanigans, Christmas feels, and of course a happy ending.

Santa Daddy

Hunter Adams is still a virgin, can’t find a real job, and has no clue what to do with his life. In desperation, he returns to his humiliating old job as an elf at the Santa's Village. The Santa on the job is an unexpectedly sexy lumberjack, twice Hunter's size and age. He’s grumpy and intimidating, but he makes Hunter feel very naughty. When a surprise blizzard traps them alone on Nick’s isolated tree farm, Nick’s daddy instincts kick in...

Features an age gap, steamy mm first times, daddy role-playing and light spanking, and of course a happy ending.

Where the Lovelight Gleams

Actor Ryan Drake is pining. He may get to kiss gorgeous Cary Holloway on the set of their hit sci-fi TV show, but he knows it’ll never happen in real life. Charming Cary has a starlet girlfriend, and despite their sizzling onscreen chemistry, he and Ryan are just friends. Right? Then Cary accepts Ryan’s invite to spend the holiday with his family in Canada. Little does Ryan know, Cary’s coming to terms with his bisexuality and deep attraction to his co-star...
My favorite out of the four is the Eight Nights in December. I love a good Hanukkah story. This one is sweet and very much embraces the Hanukkah traditions. I loved that they are explained to me too. Made me feel so connected not only to the characters but the holiday itself.
Lucas is a shy guy. He has lost his dad. He has no where to go for the holidays. His disheveled and disorganized jock roommate is going home. Sam’s mom drags Lucas with them.
Lucas ends up rooming with Sam’s geeky shy brother Nate. And well they more than hit it off.
I loved how they grew in this story. They start out with testing the waters so to speak, then they form a real solid start to a relationship.
Their connection can really be felt. Which made this story my favorite.
Overall each book brings its own flavor and style to this collection. I loved it. I would definitely pick up more from this author in the future.

Eight Nights in December

In the first story, Eight Nights in December, we have Lucas and Nate. Lucas is an orphan who is in his freshman year in college. His roommate’s mother invited him to spend Christmas with them when she learns that he has no family. Then he met Nate, his roommate’s younger brother. What started out as an awkward rooming arrangement blossomed into an awkward friendship and then attraction. They are mutually attracted to each other and so they agreed to have a holiday fling. But it soon turned into something more. This is a sweet tale of sexual awakening between the virgin Lucas and the geeky pre-law/Photographer Nate. Just in time for the holidays, I am sure you will love this one.

In Case of Emergency

They were stepbrothers, for less than a year, over a decade ago. They barely knew each other. Daniel was listed as Cole’s emergency contact now that he is pursuing a Masters Degree in Environmental Engineering in Ottawa. When Cole fell in his apartment building, he was brought to the hospital. And Daniel was called in. Cole has a slight concussion which requires for someone to take care of him. Daniel had no choice but to bring Cole with him on his vacation with a soon-to-be-boyfriend. Things spiraled fast with the so-called boyfriend and Cole and Daniel ended up alone in the chalet. Feelings that were kept a secret began unraveling.
Another feel-good, low angst tale of love just in time for the holidays. Ms. Andrews has a knack for writing short but sweet tales of love between wholesome characters. You will enjoy this one too!

Santa Daddy

A college graduate, jobless and a virgin, Hunter, has no choice but to go back to his old job as an elf at the mall for the holidays. Nick has been alone since his partner died, and he is filling up for the role of Santa at the mall.
Now why is a grumpy Santa so adorable? And the elf is beautiful! Nick is still coping with the death of his partner, although it has been eight years. He lives like a hermit but then his friend suggested that he needs help in his Christmas tree farm and that Hunter is looking for another part-time job.
This story I have read twice now, it is sweet and a little bittersweet because there was a mention of the death of a partner. It has age gap, a little daddy kink and all-around holiday fun! Ms. Andrews, I now look forward to your Holiday stories!

Where the Lovelight Gleams

Two TV actors, both young and very attractive. Cary comes from a line of Hollywood royalty while Ryan does not. But because of their TV show where they play a soon-to-be couple, they have become close and become friends.
Ryan invited Cary to spend Christmas with his family when he learned that he will not be spending it with his family, thinking that Cary will never take him up on it, but a few days after, Cary did.
What they thought was friendship became a revelation as they both found out that they are attracted to each other. It blossomed the more they spend time together. This is a “dreams can come true” tale of two beautiful young men, so much sweetness and holiday cheer! You will love Ryan and Cary!

Thank you Ms. Keira Andrews for bring all these sweet Holiday stories, they are full of love and sweetness, just right for the Christmas season!

i read this box set as part of an arc program. This set includes four romances that take place over the holidays. This set includes the books Eight Nights in December, In Case of Emergency, Santa Daddy, and Where the Lovelight Gleams.

Eight Nights in December— Lucas is in college and alone after his father died from cancer. He had planned to spend the holidays alone in the dorm, but his roommate's mother made him come to their home, where he met his roommate's brother Nate. Nate and Lucas had to share a room and soon the heat takes over.

In Case of Emergency— Daniel was on his way to a romantic vacation when he gets called to the hospital because his former step brother Cole was hurt. Daniel barely remembers Cole because their parents were only married for a few months and when he learns Cole has no one to look after him, he knows he can't leave him alone, so he decides to take him on vacation with him. When they get to the chalet, Daniel's date has invited people from work and only wanted to party. Daniel is angry and tries to kick everyone out, but a storm came. Daniel would rather stay with Cole and care for him than party and Cole has to try and remember Daniel is off limits and get over his crush.

Santa Daddy—Hunter took a job as an elf at the mall to earn money for Christmas presents because he couldn't find work, only unpaid internships. When the regular mall Santa broke his hip, Nick stepped in to play Santa. Nick owned a tree farm and was very grumpy. Nick was alone since his husband died, and he pushed everyone away. When Nick met Hunter, he felt drawn to him and his dominate traits come out making him want to protect Hunter. Hunter was still a virgin and felt he was too scared to allow himself to get close to anyone. When Nick offered Hunter a job on the farm, he crashed on his way to work on the first day and was stuck in a storm. When Hunter managed to walk to Nick's house, Nick felt bad and realized he wanted Hunter around. Hunter needed someone to care for him and Nick needed to be a Daddy.

Where the Lovelight Gleams—Ryan worked on a sci-fi show with Cary where they played lovers. Ryan was in love with Cary in real life, but Cary was straight and dating another actress. When Ryan was going home for Christmas, he invited Cary, but Cary was going away with his girlfriend. After a few days, Cary called and told Ryan he was on his way after he broke up with his girlfriend. Cary arrived at Ryan's family's cabin and they welcomed him with open arms. Ryan was fighting his feelings for Cary and when Cary told him he cared about him and wanted to be with him, they starting acting on their feelings, but didn't tell anyone. Ryan also wondered if it was only a fling or if they would be together when they returned to California. Cary wasn't ready to come out because of his family and Ryan didn't want to be a secret.

All four of these books were good reads. I found them sweet and steamy. i love the happy endings for the holidays and the epilogues. Good stories ina good set. Well done.

A pick n mix of festive treats

When it comes to writing gay romance you'd be hard pressed to find anyone who can span the genres like Keira Andrews. As an author she has explored MM romance against the backdrops of the Amish community, a Zombie Apocalypse, Olympic figure skating, the Australian outback, a plane crash, World War 2, even a pirate ship has featured as a setting. In each of these she has created some of the most beautifully complex and interesting characters. Her prose, her research, the knowledge she has of the subject matter are second to none. I have loved every book of her's that I've read and can not champion her writing enough. However one of the genre of books of hers that I've never read are her Christmas themed books. So this year I thought it was about time that I dipped in to some of those works. So I chose this book to start with, and although I'm not normally a fan of short stories in the MM romance genre (because they are usually dominated by ill placed sex scenes) I thought I'd give this one a go. After all, if there is anyone who can write a fulfilling romance in less than 30,000 words, Keira Andrews can. And I'm so glad I did as she has crafted 4 brilliantly written stories that perfectly capture the holiday spirit while providing a beautiful romance to warm the heart.

With these 4 stories she has provided a little something for everyone. We have the geek/student hookup, the age gap romance, the stepbrother troupe and a couple of TV actors on hand to provide a little celebrity romance. A real pick n mix. And just like a pick n mix, they are sugary sweet with plenty of fizz. However I think I should mention that although they're not sickly sweet, they are best consumed around the festive season.

You will find these four, fun, bite size nuggets of festive goodness will definitely get you in the mood this Christmas. That said, it's worth pointing out that I did find "In Case of Emergency" less of nugget and more of a boulder. At around 170+ pages it did feel like it dragged a little. The reason for this is that although the story is very suited to the short story format, the length was more akin to a novella. The whole thing felt very drawn out and way too long. Some ruthless editing would have made this a perfect addition to sit more comfortably along side the others. But as these stories were not originally written for this collection, they were originally stand-alones, bringing them together under this one roof does make their differences stand out a mile. So maybe they are best read a day or two apart, so that they feel like more stand alone stories and can be appreciated independently. So if you do fancy a little Christmas spice leading up to the big day then why not give these a go, as I'm sure there’s a stocking filler in here that’s guaranteed get you in the holiday spirit.

1. Eight Nights in December: 4 stars
Both MC's were soft and sweet as was their passion. It was immature because of their age, but not in the way it made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Both characters had a lot of growing to do and it's clear that they're given the best possible start with foundations of love, good family, and a faith system that provided tradition and community. I do wish there had been an alternating POV, but Nate's issues and feelings were relatively obvious so I could forgive that. Theirs was free of any external angst and the internal issues were rectified really quickly by well-meaning family so the overall feel of the story was light and fluffy. The epilogue was absolutely perfect for them and showed an immense amount of family love, connection, and happiness that would be anything anyone could hope for.

2. In Case of Emergency: 3.5 stars
With a slow start and an unnecessary amount of meddling and ridiculousness from the would-be boyfriend, this wasn't my favorite of the bunch. But then things started deepening and progressing between the MC's and then a whole load of sweetness came rushing in and really brought the story to a better place. I think the demi bit was slightly contrived and simplistically explained, but other than that, the rest of the story flowed well and gave a great sense of connection between the men. The ending was very sweet and just right for the MC's.

3. Santa Daddy: 4 stars
This was a cute story that had a lot of steam and I liked it all. Getting to know both men and seeing how they changed and grew to become better men by the end as well as more settled was an absolute pleasure. I even liked the interjected thoughts from Eric's perspective that helped Nick to come to terms with all that stretched him beyond his comfort zone. It was snarky, tempting, and quite amusing at times. With a couple of solid side characters to add depth and breadth to the story I was completely sold.

4. Where the Lovelight Gleams: 3 stars
Another family for the win. These two MC's really need the support of family being stuck in the Hollywood spotlight. The sexual chemistry between them really works, but the emotional one felt lacking. I would have liked an alternating POV because there was quite a bit of internal conflict, withheld feelings, aborted sentiments, and rash reactions on both of their parts. While the ending was very sweet and brought us full-circle, the lead-up was a bit rough and didn't give me the same lovely feelings I got with all the rest of the stories in this collection.

EIGHT NIGHTS IN DECEMBER, 4 stars!

What a short sweet story about putting yourself out there in college while coming to terms with your grief. While grieving the only family he had left, Lucas gets dragged by his jewish dorm roommates mother back their house for the holidays. While having to share a room with said roommates brother who is a bit of a player, having to celebrate a holiday he know very little about, him and Nate become close all while finding himself and experimenting his sex life on the down low as to not out Nate to his entire family. It was cute and a little frustrating. The ending made me exhale in a good way.

IN CASE OF EMERGENCY, 4 stars!

When Cole hurts himself and Daniel is called to take care of him, both of their lives are shot in a new direction. Having not seen each other in 10 years former step brother and thrust back together by being snow in at a vacation cabin. After a frustrating start, and once they are alone, a very taboo plot begins. It was definitely a fun and aggressive story in many ways.

SANTA DADDY, 5 stars!

Whoa. WHOA! I need an expanded edition of this novella. Hunter (young 20s) comes home for the holiday to play mall elf and meets Nick who owns a Xmas tree farm (older 40s) playing Santa. After being asked, Hunter helps Nick out on the farm only to be stuck there because of a freak snow storm. One thing leads to another and a Sub/Dom plot begins. Both guys struggling in life for different reasons. Hunter with his career. Nick with his grieving and the struggle to move on. They learn to lean on each other as their differences make each other stronger.

WHERE THE LOVELIGHT GLEAMS, 3 stars!

This one was super short. It could have used more meat to it. 2 hollywood TV actors that are secretly pining for each other, spend the holidays together in a cabin. Ryan (gay) invites Caryn (straight/questioning) to spend the holiday with him and his family when he hears he will be alone. It was a cute story, just needed more. Gay virginity is lost with basic sex, lots of bickering about coming out, and some mild danger that put life in perspective. Ryan's family was great. Made me want to be apart of their Christmas gatherings.

1. Lucas and Nate’s Story
In this first novella, we meet Lucas and Nate, who find themselves in a festive and heartwarming story set around Hanukkah. The two are roommates for the holidays, and the tension builds when they discover they're both gay. Charm, chemistry, and plenty of seasonal magic. It’s a very cute and festive tale that encapsulates the spirit of romance, making it a delightful read.

2. Daniel and Nickolas’s Story
The second story follows Daniel and Nickolas, who were once stepbrothers a decade ago. After years apart, they find themselves thrown together again under forced proximity circumstances. This story leans heavily on themes of hurt and comfort, creating an emotional and touching dynamic between the characters.

3. Nick and Hunter’s Story
Nick and Hunter’s story takes a different direction with a romance set on a Christmas tree farm. Hunter is a virgin, and Nick is older, creating an age gap dynamic that adds to the story. This novella also explores a "daddy kink" aspect, which is not my favorite but offers a unique twist on the traditional romance tropes. The overall tone of the story is heartwarming.

4. Ryan and Carry’s Story
The final story in the collection brings us Ryan and Carry, who are caught up in a workplace romance with an element of forced proximity. This novella is the shortest of the four, but it still packs a punch in terms of sweetness and charm. It's a cute, enjoyable read.

Overall, it is a mix of heartwarming stories filled with festive cheer, romance, and a touch of spice. Each novella brings its own unique dynamic to the table, making it a great holiday read.

'Gay Romance Holiday Collection' written by Keira Andrews (Audible) narrated by Kirt Graves

1). 'Eight Nights in December' (A geek. A virgin. One sexy holiday). a very cute storyline featuring an orphaned gay virgin college guy being taken home for the Hannakkah Holidays by his straight jock roommate and being billeted in with his roommate's gay (but closeted) brother. Who happens to be a photographer with a dark room in his closet. A mutual admiration society springs up between them!
(my fave tale in this book!)

Next up...
2). 'In Case of Emergency', this is a pretty cool story about two ex-step brothers, one quite a bit younger than the other, who has his ex-step bro down on his insurance card as his his emergency contact.

Imagine the elder guy's shock when he gets a call in the wee hours of the night from a nurse at a hospital that he is his "brother's" emergency contact...when he hasn't seen nor spoken to him in 10 years...and his "bro" has been in an accident!

I liked this tale of reconnections and redemption and being open to having a special person in each of their lives that was unexpected, but (once the shock wore off) very welcome.

3). 'Santa Daddy', (D/s storyline) this is my least fave story in this collection. Not into Daddy/Boy storylines. I fail to understand the appeal from either side as it's a power-over (dom)/submissive dynamic, which just isn't my cup of tea. I tend to be a mouthy "take no crap" kinda person so this kind of situation doesn't appeal to me. However, to each his (or her) own, as I know some people are comfortable with it and it really floats their boat. This particular story was boring for me; I read about half of it, but ended up as a DNF for me.

4). 'Where the Lovelight Gleams' (friends to lovers) sorry, just couldn't get into yet another boring storyline. The writing wasn't good enough to sustain this storyline of long time friend pining for his supposedly straight best friend..yada, yada, yada...
so got about half way through, but just couldn't finish so...premature detonation and it's another DNF for me.
This author is a hit-or-miss for me, as some of her writing is great, like 'Honeymoon for One' which I loved.

But this collection?
Really liked the first tale, and the second one was good too. But disliked the third storyline so DNF that one, and the fourth was just too boring so that's also a DNF for me.
All-in-all this ends up being a 3 stars for me.

had previously read a couple of these books separately and enjoyed them thoroughly.
Keira takes you on a wonderland through Christmas stories set in chalets, Christmas tree farms, New York City and the family cabin on a lake.
All of the stories have heart and sweet heat as we venture closer to the season.
I related best to Cole and Daniel as their story was sweet and enjoyable and a semi sweet story. Daniel was just huggable.

My favourite story was Santa Daddy. Hunter and Nick were just hot and adorable and have just enough of a Daddy thing to keep me happy. I loved the Christmas tree aspect.

The first story with Lucas and Nate was a new adult title celebrating Hanukkah. it was another sweet yet bitter story with Lucas dealing with the death of his father and trying not show emotion. I felt for Lucas as he navigated his first holiday with strangers and not his family.

The last story was a fun miscommunication with two actors who head to Northern Ontario to celebrate with the one’s family. Pining on both sides and a daring rescue round out this book.

Seriously, Keira does a fantastic job with different tropes and setting up the stories. They are all holiday sweet and each had a different flavour.
Highly recommend this to anyone ready for a quick read

I received an ARC for my honest review.

Eight Nights in December: unexpected that the main character ended up falling for the roommate's brother, I was sure it was going to be a roommates romance, but still enjoyed the story. Just don't feel like we got to know the characters enough throughout the story to truly love them.

In Case of Emergency: I need this one to be a Hallmark movie, so damn cute and I loved that it was set at a resort at Christmas time!

Santa Daddy: WOW I did not in a million years think I would enjoy this story as much as I did... Nick and Hunter's romance was incredible and so sweet. I usually absolutely despise any 'daddy kink' content but the romance in this one was too wonderful not to love it all. I will say this came off so much more normal and not creepy, so I wasn't as weirded out by the 'daddy' stuff, and the fact that the characters restricted that play to only when they're in bed made it better. Certainly worth the read even if 'daddy' kink isn't your thing.

Where the Lovelight Gleams: oh my gosh, I want a whole series on these two. Cary and Ryan are so perfect for one another. This story satisfied the part of me that ends up shipping the actors of the characters I like together on my favorite TV shows. Gave me hardcore Ryan Guzman/Oliver Stark from 9-1-1 vibes.

Perfect holiday reads!

I love reading seasonal and holiday reads and having four in one set makes me a very happy reader. What I liked most was how different they were while still having HEA's and a strong holiday theme.
Right Nights in December was a great way to start this set off. Beautifully emotional with some angst, it also shows how important family is especially after what Lucas has been through. I loved how the family came together for Hanukkah and for Nate and Lucas. Sam really surprised me.
This wasn't the first time I read In Case of Emergency. It's already part of my annual holiday reads. It just has more company now. How the author handles Daniel's insecurities was so well done. Cole said just the right things. That's what makes this one a favorite of mine. Plus the ending and seeing Karma in action doesn't hurt lol.
Santa Daddy is such a sweet, sexy, and a bit kinky read that has more depth than you expect when you read the blurb. I thought the Eric comments were a heartwarming touch. Yes you move on but when you deeply love someone they are never truly gone.

It's review time 🎧
Warning ⚠️ : m/m short stories.

Narrator score🎧 ; kirt is absalutly my favorite narrator, and its for a reason. He spoke in Hebrew like its his native language, and it was so good. Now I want sufgania and I really don't like them.... yeah yeah ... a jew that doesn't like sufganiot.

Level of steam🔥: each story has its level of steam, but overall the stories are hot.

Level of anxiety and sadness0😱😢: i think those stories are more adorable than sad, you have an element of melancholy in some of them. But nothing too much to handle.

The book itself📖:
First story.
The first story

Eight Nights in December-A geek. A virgin. One sexy holiday.
Cute, sweet and a bit teary. I liked that the couple wasn’t who you’d expect, that it was not a gay-for-you or opposites attract story. I also liked that both heroes supported each other with their secrets and dreams. It’s a good story.

In Case of Emergency-Former stepbrothers find Christmas romance under the tree.
Cute. The grumpy, workaholic guy reconnects with his former stepbrother (their parent were married briefly, many years ago). Watching the curmudgeon come out of his shell and fall in love is really nice.

Santa Daddy-Mall Santas aren't supposed to be hot!
Another sweet & cute tale. Love the Canadian setting, describing fictional towns that are clearly referring to small towns in Ontario. The daddy kink is gooood, and I love that the boy becomes much more confident in himself, and finds his place in the world.

Where the Lovelight Gleams-Will costars take their romance offscreen this Christmas?
OMG - this one is set at the family’s cottage near Parry Sound, ON. I went to this town for many summers, to attend summer camp. Nice, a bit predictable.
