I thought this was an enjoyable premise - I'm a real sucker for any kind of paranormal romance, and that portion of the story was original, a very fresh premise. The romance between Brooke and Will was very dreamy (pardon the pun) and believable. One thing I always appreciate in romance are the characters actually taking the time to get to know each other, and, aside from their very dramatic first meeting, that's exactly what they did. I liked that, despite their instant connection, they didn't just jump into bed together right away, but let their feelings build over a slow burn.
I'd also like to thank the author for a nuanced portrayal of Brooke's anxiety disorder. It's not something seen often in romance, and when it is portrayed it's usually very overdone or something that gets "cured" which is quite unrealistic.
I have only two small complaints - firstly that an editor's touch would have gone a long way. I saw very few typos, but there were a few formatting issues and, to my second point, that the story might have benefited from less time spent on the day-to-day of Brooke hanging out with Tara, going to work, getting ready for bed, etc. These scenes did feel a bit like filler to me and while there was nothing *wrong* with them, I found myself skimming in order to get back to the action of the story. Otherwise I found this an enjoyable read.
