How does he ever protect a woman whose greatest danger is herself?

Lady Hannah Blackburn has always been an obedient daughter, doing exactly as she is told. So when her sister runs off with a footman and her parents decide on a hastily arranged marriage for her, she agrees. Then she kisses a stranger in the library on the same night her fiancée has a tryst of his own and suddenly everything changes.

Lord Edmund Marshville, a former soldier and the second son of an earl, has one desire—to be left alone with his scars and his memories in his remote Hollingswood Estate. When he gives in to his mother’s plea to attend his brother’s engagement party, he doesn’t realize how life altering one night can be. For when his brother must marry the woman he compromises, suddenly Edmund takes on the role of groom to his brother’s original bride, a role he has no wish to assume.

When Hannah and Edmund return to Hollingswood, it doesn’t seem like they will ever be married in anything more than name, until they begin to uncover secrets hidden for decades. Will attempting to reunite lost loves help them find their way to each other, or do the fates have other plans for them?

PURE MAGIC❤️❤️❤️❤️

I always love a story where a battle-scarred/wounded hero falls for a sweet, gentle woman—it’s just so beauty and the beast!

And this one certainly hit that mark, while also feeling a little gothic and dark as the backdrop is set against an old, haunted manor and crumbling ruins.

Both the characters were likable—the hero was scarred, gruff and a recluse, but he couldn’t hide his yearning and desire and vulnerability from the heroine. And the heroine was lovely—gentle but determined to help heal her new husband, to bring peace where before there was only torment.

The writing was smooth and clean and conveyed the emotion and attraction between the two. While not the smuttiest book I’ve ever read, there was some steam to make their emotional connection even more intense.

Safe. Hero has been celibate for 6 years. Heroine is a virgin and gives the hero the gift of claiming all her firsts. Small OM drama (heroine was engaged to hero’s brother but it was an arranged match and there was no physical or emotional intimacy between them.) no cheating or abuse. HEA with epilogue years out.

I definitely will be reading more from this author.

A story that immediately wrapped around my gothic reading soul and made me fall in love with Edmund, when he kissed her. Oh yes...

Hannah's father was desperate to marry her off due to her sister's scandal. He had found the perfect match in Byron Marshville. Fortunately (and I say that with upmost honesty!) Byron was caught in a compromising situation at their betrothal party. The scoundrel! The only solution was that she marry his brother, Lord Edmund. The one injured and scarred from the war. The one that hid away at an estate at Hollingsworth and never came out.

When Hannah and Edmund arrived at his home, as much as he at first tried to ignore her, things began to change. There was a mystery of lost love and a ghost who needed to find closure.
I absolutely loved this story, but of course, how could I not? Gothic, scarred hero, mystery and by an author who always wins my heart with her stories!

Wonderful story and charming characters, this author always seems to know how to interest her readers and bring her books to life with some interesting twists. Spirits, mystery, danger and love. This delightful story about Edmund and Hannah, two people forced to marry by their parents, tells the tale of how they find love in spite of their circumstances. This is a lovely book you don’t want to miss.

This is a very different book the what I have read from this author. The opening few chapters leave you with a look into how young woman of the day had no say in their lives at all. Lady Hannah Blackburn is at a party to announce her betrothal to Lord Byron Marshville the first son of Lord Marshville. This is an arranged marriage due to the fact that her sister run off with the footman. Which was a Hugh scandal so her chances of a good match are none. Hannah has always been the good daughter, doing what she is told. She doesn't know him and so leaves to hid in the library and find some peace. Only she is not the only one in the Library. A stranger in the dark talks to her and tells her not to marry a stranger as he may be mean or worst. They end up kissing before she leaves. She finds herself filling very safe and comfortable with him.
She then comes across a group of people who are watching her betrothal pulling up his pants after being caught in his mother's sitting room with another young lady!!
The wedding is off or so she thinks. The next day she is told she is wedding his brother? He is an ex-soldier who was wounded and taken prisoner. He is badly scared
half of his face is destroyed. When she meets him for the first time, she is shocked. But also feels something she can't understand. They marry.
This is a great story on how they learned about each other, the attraction is wonderful
both have secrets to hid. There is also a spirit who lives at Hollingswood Estate that they are trying to help figure out why he can't move on. I was surprised that this is a very short story with a lot going on. It was great. There are many underlining things
going on that make the story. I hope you grab a copy and put your feet up and get started.
I know you will love it.
I received an ARC from the author and want to thank her. This is my honest opinion

"... he was losing his heart, something he didn’t think was whole enough to ever give away."

One night changes everything! A little darker than I'm used to reading from Ellie St. Clair, but the characters are no less endearing. When Lady Hannah Blackburn's sister, runs away with a footman, Hannah complies with her parent's wishes, and agrees to marry Byron Marshville. A reluctant bride-to-be, meets the brother of the reluctant, groom-to-be, and their lives will never be the same. Byron compromises a woman, and must make that right. Lady Hannah find herself hastily married to Byron's brother, the literal battle-scarred, Edmund. Their marriage was to be a marriage of convenience - a loveless marriage. However, there was a spark, a bond, from the moment they met. Admitting this to themselves is not even half of their battle. In "Always Your Love," by Ellie St Clair, we find drama, angst, old-fashioned values, mystery, intrigue, longing, romance, and the journey to love. Strong, endearing characters and an enticing love story. I received this book as an ARC from Ellie St. Clair, and I volunteered this review.

Inside is what counts

Edmond is scarred from his time in the war and women run from him so he stays in the shadows! Hannah is drawn to his voice in the library and they share a sensuous kiss! Later Edmond finds out she was engaged to his brother who was found with his pants around his ankles on the night of the announcement with another woman!
Hannah is forced to marry him and retreat to the wild countryside!
Can two people forced to wed forge an alliance? Hannah has always been the dutiful obedient daughter but she wants something more out of her marriage then this cold old lonely house!
When they seem to reach a happy place sinister events take place near the ruins of their home? Will their dreams get snatched away by a madman?

Always your love is a wonderful romantic read. I had an awesome time reading it. I absolutely loved Hannah and Edmunds characters. The book was on the gentle side of their romance, but to me it was very refreshing. The drama was light, but the entertainment made up for the beauty of the book. The writer chose a plot that was so heart warming and compassionate. I felt anguish and the disparities that Edmund had for himself through the writers words. Then comes Hannah. Her strong resilience and her loving heart helps contribute to the passion that Edmund has for her. This is a sweet read to cozy up too.

For this to be such a quick read, it is a beautiful love story. Hannah and Edmund are forced to marry through no fault of their own. Hannah accepts the marriage but Edmund is hesitant for his own reasons but quickly embraces his new wife. There is a lot going on, including danger, which makes this a great read. I enjoyed the story and would highly recommend it.

You can always be sure that when you read this author's book, it will have strong, lovable characters that will weave their way into your heart. This one is no different & we find our heroine, Hannah being told by her parents that she must marry our hero, Edmund - she does not understand but does as she is told. Edmund does not want a wife and now he finds himself alone with Hannah for days at Hollingwood Estate. Being alone has forced them to become closer than they would have ever dreamed and in the process, they have solved an age-old mystery of old lovers. This was a sweet novella and Hannah brings Edmund back to the life he has given up on & she makes him see the physical scars he has does not alter the way she sees him or the way he should live his life.

I liked that Hannah wasn't a total pushover. Yes, she considered herself the "good girl" who always listened to her parents, but when it came to her relationship with her husband, she was firm and confident. The supernatural aspect was fun and added a little spookiness that was perfect for an October read. Edmund was a seriously wounded man, but I liked that he wasn't hard core pushing her away even if that's what he initially intended. There was some angst, but not too much.

I purchased this as of a multi author bundle called WICKED LIAISON and Always Your Love was part of that bundle.

This is such a departure for this author and I loved it. It has everything you want in a story and more.

The beginning was quite unusual! The h is betrothed to someone and neither wants to be married. What happens next sets the stage for our story. (No spoiler's).

This felt like a story within a story. How this author wrote these character's with such depth in a novella, shows her talent. There is suspense, sadness, beauty and the beast feeling, touch of paranormal that was just right and we see the beast become a loving man all due to the love of the h.

There is a twist at the end that surprised me in a good way. We have lovemaking, within marriage, heat level maybe 2.5 out of 5 and only described once.

No cheating, romance, HEA and a tad of spice. (ljb)

What a heartfelt story, it takes you to the heights of a passionate love swirling down into a vortex of pain and torment! With the ghost of the past whispering through Edmund's soul will he be able to let go to that which haunts him and find love in Always Your Love? Edmund's physical and emotional scars are haunting him until one night he has a chance meeting with his brother's fiance, Hannah. As a scandal unfolds Hannah finds herself married to Edmund and not his brother. Soon Hannah finds herself and Edmund on a quest to solve a mystery that haunts Edmund's home. It's heart felt story filled with drama, passion, uncertainties, trials and tribulations, turmoil and a villain that will try to destroy their happiness. Ellie St. Clair's characters never failed to delight; they have depth, are strong willed and have great chemistry.

Love doesn't always win sometimes outside forces keep it from growing, Hannah didn't have much choice in finding love as her father arranged her marriage. Edmund didn't plan on ever marrying he shunned society due to the terrible scars that war left him with, then his brother's mistake forced him into wedding Hannah. They live in a secluded home and except for meals and such they have little contact. When he is showing her the house she finds a pile of letters belonging to Edmund's uncle it seems he couldn't have the love he wanted instead his brother had her. What begins in discovering what happened to Edmund's uncle and his love they find some sports can't rest without their love now Hannah and Edmunds must find a way to make it happen and maybe they can find love for themselves. I read this as an ARC this is my honest review.

This was my first book being introduced to Ellie and to say I’m obsessed with her writing style is an understatement. I really don’t know what to say besides this book was truly so damn good, and with such limited pages — it felt like the story was told perfectly but I also could’ve read 200 more. I loved the gothic and supernatural elements to this story, and loved both of the love stories that occurred.

This was reminiscent of Beauty and the Beast. Edmund a scarred war hero is forced to marry Hannah to save his home. He thinks no one can ever love him. But Hannah sees the damaged man beneath his gruff exterior. If Edmund could just allow himself the grace to let Hannah love him. A very heart warming story. I received a complimentary copy and my review is voluntary.

MARRIED TO ANOTHER GROOM
Lady Hannah and Lord Edmund Marshville are married, neither by choice. Edmund is gruff and distant suffering nightmares and self-conscious of his scars from the war. All he wanted was to stay hidden away from life. The last thing he wanted was a wife. Drawn to each other, they have a little help from two spirits who were separated in life, but still in love. Then Edmund's brother shows up. This is a steamy novella with a damaged hero who was changed by love.

I originally read this as part of an anthology and it was my favorite novella.

Hannah is hastily married off after her arranged fiancé had a tryst with another and was found out.

Edmund is living in exile in a dilapidated house Far from his family.

With the help from some lingering spirits who had a parallel story will Hannah and Edmund have a different outcome.

Recommend.

Hannah finds herself betrothed to Byron but whilst taking a few minutes to be by herself she encounters a man in the library who says Byron will never make her happy. Then Byron is found in a totally compromising situation & Hannah finds herself wed to his younger scarred brother Edmund. When the two of them spend days alone in Hollingwood Estate they find themselves becoming closer than they ever would have imagined.
A lovely novella with strong characters. Hannah may think she’s always been the good sister who did as she was told but she’s also strong & sees past Edmund’s scars to the good man beneath. Edmund has almost given up on life but Hannah gives him the strength to start to lives again They find love as they solve another love story so two happy endings. I first read this lovely novella in the Wicked Liaisons box set
