"He had everything under control, except the way that cowboy made him feel."

Texas cowboy Shea Montgomery has plans. Big plans. Still mourning the loss of his beloved father, he’s finally ready to sell the Forget Me Not ranch. He’s dusting off his boots, packing up his cowboy hat, and moving to New York City to make his dreams come true. So what if he won’t have his horse to ride or a place to call home? He’ll make it work. Somehow. First, he has to deal with a bunch of corporate types who don’t know the front end of a horse from the back.

Especially this one guy who can’t seem to stay out of trouble.
Or out of Shea’s mind.

Jake Axelrod’s perfect family is shattered when his daughter stops speaking and his husband ends their marriage. Two years later, she remains locked in silence and Jake has closed himself off. His life is structured to the minute, and Jake is convinced he’ll be alone forever, until he’s forced to attend a company retreat at a dude ranch in Texas where he meets a cowboy who sends him spinning out of control.

Jake can’t help falling…off his horse, out of a rowboat, and into Shea’s arms.

And Shea is more than willing to catch him.

Neither man wants to let go, and the time they spend together only makes it harder to be apart. A decision needs to be made: work it out or say good-bye. Jake’s life is in New York, but he can’t walk away from Shea or the ranch, and Shea must decide if the dream of a lifetime will lead him right back to the place where he started, where his heart belongs.

Forget Me Not is a stand alone, cowboy romance by Felice Stevens. Even though I had read the blurb, I wasn’t sure what to expect with this book. Only that I fell in love with the cover. What a wonderful surprise this entire book was. There were so many sweet, wonderful moments that made my eyes water a little bit. I couldn’t help but to fall in love with these characters.

Felice Stevens❤️🗽📚🔯 (@FeliceStevens1) | Twitter

Shea Montgomery grew up on the Forget Me Not Ranch. It made him the man he is, an honorable cowboy who doesn’t mind hard work and who cares deeply for the people in his life. But being a cowboy is only part of who Shea is. He is also a model, known mostly for being an underwear model. He always dreamed of a life outside of the ranch. But when his father got sick, he put all of that to the side and cared for his father. Now, it’s been a year since he lost him. He’s been thinking that maybe it’s time to sell the ranch and pursue his modeling career further in New York.

Since his father passed, they converted the ranch to a dude ranch and they are currently getting ready for a large company that is doing a corporate retreat. These were not his favorite guests. That is until he laid eyes on one particular guest that was a part of this retreat.

Jake Axelrod always dreamed of having a family of his own. And he thought he had that with his husband and their daughter, Stacey. Only his husband had other ideas and left them two years ago. At the same time, little Stacey stopped talking and hasn’t uttered a word since. Now a single dad with a hardened heart, Jake’s only focus is his little girl, trying to help her and to make sure she knows she is loved every day. Jake is forced to attend his company’s corporate retreat in Texas at a dude ranch. He doesn’t want to be away from Stacey but has no choice. What he hadn’t counted on was the world’s sexiest cowboy who had the power to make Jake forget all of his troubles.

Sweet little girl and bunny | Animals for kids, Animals, Cute animals

Jake most definitely isn’t cut out for ranch life. Between falling off a horse and falling out of a boat, he has proven he’s no cowboy. But the connection between he and Shea is undeniable. Being on the ranch away from the stresses of his life while getting to know Shea seems to settle something inside of Jake and gives him hope he hasn’t felt in a long time.

The Warriors Poem: Forget-Me-Not | Foundation Truths

Both Shea and Jake are at a crossroads in their lives, both ready to take on new challenges, independently, and as they eventually discover, together as well. Neither was looking for love. But isn’t that the way it always is when you don’t expect it. Love finds you! Shea finds himself completely enamored with little Stacey and even more so with her father.

This book had everything I love. So many sweet moments that had my eyes brimming with tears. There is also plenty of steam. I love when the main characters enter into their relationship dedicated to finding a way to make it work. There was no push away and I’m so glad for that. They faced any problems that came along together and supported one another. And then there is little Stacey. Not only did this little girl steal Shea’s heart, she stole mine too.

This is a wonderful, sweet, sexy romance that I just fell in love with. Sometimes you just have a feeling about a book and I did with this one and I assure you, it was all I hoped it would be. I can’t wait for you to read it too.

“Forget Me Not was a magical place where anything could happen.”

One of my favourites from Felice

Oh this was just a beautiful romance, no angst, no dramatic plot points, just two people falling in love.

Everything about this one just worked for me. I got the connection between the two men from the first time they met.

I loved the setting, I loved the secondary characters, the narrative drove the story perfectly.

I did guess what the traumatic episode was going to be which resulted in Stacey's selective autism, but it didn't spoil anything about the moment when it was revealed.

There had been so much work done into building up a secure environment in which she felt safe that it rang completely realistic to me.

It's an odd combo of both instant attraction and also a bit of slow burn due to the times the two men are separated, but it works well.

They're on fire between the sheets, but there's also a solid grounding in friendship, mutual respect and trust.

I've no doubt these guys will be sitting on the porch when they're old and grey, still chewing over their day and loving each other.

I always enjoy Felice Stevens' books, but this one really grabbed me from page one and I found myself devouring it. All the characters just hit all the right notes for me. The story had laughs, a couple of tears, and plenty of romantic moments.

As much as I love my angst, this sweet romance with two men acting their ages, developing a relationship, and figuring out how to make it work cross-country didn't need any. There was enough emotion in each of the men just figuring out what they wanted from life with dude ranch owner/model Shea getting ready to make his NYC dream come true and NYC executive Jake living his days by tamping down his emotions to get through the workday and going home to be the best daddy to his struggling young daughter Stacey.

It's not often the author's settings step out of the NYC area, but I loved all the scenes at the Forget Me Not ranch. I could easily picture its beauty and just why someone would never want to leave.

It's not a word I use often, but Jake and Shea were swoony! They had chemistry for days and their back and forth was fun. Jake is definitely a fish out of water at the ranch, but Shea is determined to make sure his experience is unforgettable. There are definitely some emotional moments with Jake's daughter and with Shea coming to terms with his grief and figuring out whether leaving the ranch and not looking back is really what he wants.

The epilogue was everything and left me with happy tears. The was definitely a big win for me. The sweet and sexy romance that I didn't know I needed right now.

This book left me with the biggest, goofiest smile on my face.

Shea (I can only think about Shea Coulée while reading that name) a cowboy/underwear model (hello swoon) and Jake a single father stuck in his way shouldn't really work as a couple but they fit together like two puzzle pieces.

This book is a warm hug. It's a feel-good love story without any relationship drama. The perfect comfort read.

I had high expectations with this one, the story reminded me a little of Have Mercy, but it disappointed me in so many levels. 😪😞

- First! It was an insta thing, I can work with a story like that but it has to be really well done with a little angst so I can get excited, the author tried but nope, plain as hell.
- Segundo! This guys got me confused!! They were suddenly happy and then suddenly angry, they were suddenly chilling and then suddenly jealous and it gave me so much whiplash. Sometimes I just didn't know what or why what I was reading was happening.
- Tercero! The sex was so anticlimactic, so clinical. Prepare, put it in, move, done! What about feelings? I swear to god a BJ just lasted a paragraph, that's not good! I was bored with this type of scenes and skipped some stuff about it.
- Cuarto... At one point, I was more interested in what was happening with the little girl than the love line. And this is a romance, so yeap.
- Quinto, I didn't understand the decisions that they made about the ranch, can't go on much about because is a spoiler, but it went back and forth a lot, and then the author implied that something was gonna happen and then it didn't, so yeah what?
- Last but not least, it got so cheesy! I swear to baby jesus that they said "as long as I have you" like 20 times since they got together. No! Throw an insult now and then to feed my dark side! Too much love, disgusting. 😵

So I think that I spent the whole book confused as hell, not being able to connect to it, cringing and skipping sex scenes like crazy. I did like that the relationship developed without drama and the trope about Stacy, but that's about it. Oh and the cowboy's accent because I can imagine that is Matthew McConaughey talking to me. *swoons* 🙈❤🥰

But that's about it! On to the next...

Felice Steven's Forget Me Not is a beautiful romance. As much as I was excited to read this, it's so much better than I could have ever anticipated.

Shea and Jake's romance is amazing. Shea's working on the ranch when Jake attends a work retreat there. And the attraction is instant.

From the start, we see the two sides of Shea's character. He loves the ranch and the work involved. But he's always planned on living elsewhere and making his career as a model full time.
And then there's Jake. He's a businessman through and through who can't resist the handsome cowboy. His experiences on the ranch are anything but impressive. I both felt bad for the man, and delighted by him.

And then there are Jake's issues with his daughter, which is heartbreaking. She hasn't spoken in a couple years and she's the motivation behind every action he takes. When you get to know her, you will love her. She's is a delightful character and her resilience is fantastic. Most of all though is the way she and Shea bond. It will make your heart happy.

Shea and Jake are so perfectly sweet together. I couldn't ask for more from these men. Their relationship develops with many little moments upon more little moments. It's all perfectly natural and charming.

The ranch itself is a character, fully developed and playing a large part in the story. The atmosphere is wonderfully described and the ease Jake and Stacey feel there is beautiful. As well, the author also brings NYC to life, with the many places they go and the busy pace.

The writing is fabulous, with two well developed main characters, and plenty of lovable side characters. I enjoy the obstacles they face, as well as the decisions that have in front of them.

Forget Me Not is a mesmerizing romance. I love every moment of this Felice Stevens tale. And the ending couldn't have been any better.

I really liked this story ! Terrific characters and our interest held.
Businessman Jake, is brown haired and green eyed,

and is headed to a corporate bonding trip at Shea's Forget Me Not Ranch. Jake is divorced, raising his 6 yr. old girl, who stopped speaking ( traumatic mutism ). Mr. suit and tie isn't much of a cowboy, can't stay on a horse, etc., but he and Shea really like each other. First it's looks and turns deeper.
Shea, 30, dark curly hair, blue eyes, is a big

and muscled Texas cowboy and model, who owns the ranch since losing his Dad.

Their week goes quickly and is fun, and they hated saying goodbye, but Jake has his job and daughter to get back to.

The men keep communicating and get to go back and forth seeing each other, where Shea meets Stacey.
The guys have sexy times that are sizzling and full of passion.
Can our cowboy/model and the businessman/Dad make it work ?

As things are going on at Jake's work, Shea is making decisions, we see a rescue, Stacey has a breakthrough and more. Many heartwarming moments.

The epilogue is amazing. ENJOY !

This is the book that's so good, you want to finish it and don't want to finish it.
Forget Me Not is so good, sexy, heartwarming.
That's what Felice Steven's writing always do to me.
Another reason she's my favorite!❤️❤️❤️

Forget Me Not is a proved that Felice and cowboys are a thing.
The chemistry between Jake and Shea, and the chemistry between Shea and Jake's daughter Stacey are off the chart amazing! Shea's acceptance that Jake has a daughter, and how he fell in love with Stacey and Jake at the same time, was like a dream comes true for Jake.

It pained me reading what made Stacey didn't talk two years ago, a child shouldn't have to experienced such thing in their life. But thanks to Forget Me Not ranch, and Rambo the horse, and all animals there. Also the love and patience Shea gave to Jake's little girl, wins my heart.
Shea is the best and only one for Jake. No one beats that.
Like many of Felice books I loved, this one is about family and how important the family bond is.
Because at the end of the day, it's family that we comes home to.
Sigh.

I've not really had much luck with Felice Stevens, and this may be the last nail in the coffin in this relationship. There's just such a superfluous amount of information.... I can't keep track of how many characters have had their outfit described at this point. And the dialogue is just a little too contrived.

There were times when I was reading this that I was really into it. But then some things just started to feel off about this book.

Like for example I never really bought Shea’s modeling career. It felt really strange. He was a cowboy born and raised, and then he was a model too. He enjoyed the country life, but sometimes went off on photoshoots. Of course that could happen, but I constantly felt like the modeling was an afterthought. It was like, oh yes, we need to insert something to make it work for Shea to want to travel to the city and be with Jake. The modeling is mentioned often but almost like this abstract thing. Not like something Shea actually enjoyed and wanted to continue doing.

I had a really hard time getting a feel for these guys and that became more of an issue for me as I read on.

I also thought the reveal of Stacey’s trauma was very farfetched.

This did have some nice parts and I did like how this started out. But then it slowly deteriorated until I was kind of glad it was over.

I loved Jake and Shea’s story. Their story is one that will stick with you long after you finish. I was immediately drawn in and I hated having to put it down. I was so invested in Jake finding his happiness, and Shea finding where his heart and his head wanted to be. And Stacey. That little girl pulled at my heartstrings so much. I loved all the amazing details on the Forget Me Not ranch, especially some aptly named animals! There were so many wonderful supporting characters throughout that you came to love in your journey with Jake and Shea. There was so much fun, friendship, love and overall family in this story I just loved it! Jake and Shea were a true love story and they are still on my mind days later. I couldn’t recommend their story more!

When a gorgeous city boy arrives at his ranch, Forget Me Not Ranch, Shea's immediately attracted even though it's obvious that not only is Jake out of his depth here on his ranch, but that he's only going to be here for a short while. So it wouldn't make sense for Shea to get involved with him, would it. Except their attraction cannot be denied, nor can their feelings. What will they do after Jake goes back to New York? The long distance thing? Or just live separate lives, probably never to see each other again?

Jake's daughter Stacey needs something to help her work out her issues. When her therapists advise animal therapy, a plan forms in Jake's mind. He knows of a ranch filled with animals...is it the answer to both their problems? Or is it wishful thinking to think he can have love again after his husband cut all ties and broke his and their daughter's hearts?

Forget Me Not is the kind of romance I love - not only is it sweet, but it's seriously sexy, and the secondary cast is as lovable and interesting as the two leads. Shea + Jake + Stacey = a heartwarming, steamy opposites attract love story.

Every and every time, I hear Felice Stevens is coming out with a book, I get so excited, because I know I'm in for a treat. In Forget me not, she hit me with a NYC corporate single dad and his adorable litte girl, along with a texas cowboy / underwear model. (Well, Hot Damn!!) The back drop was a magical ranch named Forget Me Not and the bustling neighborhoods of New York City!
If you infuse all that with incredible secondary characters and bunch of lovable animals, you have one very special book. From the minute I started it, I was delighted!

Mr. New York Jake Axelrod and Mr. Country Shea Montgomery are just two beautiful souls trying to figure out life and relationships. Each have their own set of issues. None of which are overdramatic. Their journey had minimal angst and lots of feels. It was just an amazing love story.

All Jake has time for is work and his young daughter. He was devastated when his ex walked out on both of them. Now he's closed off to love.
The last thing he expect on a corporate retreat to a ranch was to fall for a gorgeous cowboy.

Shea has always had dreams of leaving his ranch and following his dreams of being a model. When life threw him a curve ball, he put his dreams were put on hold. He's never been in love, but when a city slicker who gets into all sorts of precarious and hilarious situations at the ranch catches his eye... He is a goner.

Baring witness to these two men navigating their relationship was pure joy. Not only were there tons of emotions, it was fun and quite humorous. Jake's little daughter Stacey might have stolen the show a few times. She was just precious! I loved it all so very much. If you are looking for a beautiful love story Forget me not is it!!!

As a New Yorker, I must mention Felice's expertise on the city... She always takes me on an culinary and cultural experience within her books! She incorporates all the best places to go and the hidden gems off the beaten path. So take notes if you ever plan on visting NYC!

I loved Jake and Shea! I kind of saw myself in Jake, I'm as much of a klutz as he is. LOL, He's also an amazing father to his adorable daughter Stacey (more on her in a sec) and not happy at his job. Shea isn't all that happy either, now that his dad died, he wants to resume his modeling career and sell the ranch to live in New York, only now that his lifelong dream is so close, he's having doubts about it really being what he wants to do with his life.

Jake and Shea were attracted to each other from the start, and while they couldn't be more different, they just worked together. Nevermind that they were hot, hot, HOT together because that's a given in a Felice Stevens's book. They were also sweet and their interactions with Stacey were priceless.

My heart broke for what Stacey had to go through at her own age. Jake was so good with her, though, and I loved that he allowed Shea to get closer to Stacey, too. I wasn't particularly happy that my suspicions about Jake's ex proved to be right, but it seemed like the more probable cause as to Stacey's mutism, but it was lovely seeing the sweet little girl come out of her shell and start laughing again.

Overall, a fantastic story that will give you all the feels. Engaging, sweet, hot, with fantastic characters that you will become invested in. Really, what's not to love? Super recommendable!

I have a wonderful time reading this book! Felice’s books are always a guaranteed of a great time! Forget me Not is the story of Jake a city man working as a RH Director and a single father and Shea a real cowboy and a model too.

Jake is forced to attend a company retreat in Texas, he is going to spend the weekend in the Forget me Not Ranch, he never thought he will literally fall... off a horse, a rowboat and into Shea willing arms... he have a great time with Shea but he is a great father and miss his daughter and feels guilty, Jake never imagined a cowboy will bring a spark into his life.

Shea is mourning his father, he always have dream to go and live to NY but because his father illness he stayed in the Ranch to help, now he is ready to sell the Forget me Not ranch and move on but first he have to deal with a bunch of corporate types who don’t know anything about a horse, fishing or anything about a Ranch.

Both Jake and Shea have different lives but they are draw to each other, they have a great chemistry and have a great time together in the ranch... they stay in touch and when Shea take a modeling job in NY he contact Jake to meet with him, Shea dream to go to NY is about to become true and can’t wait to spend some time with Jake. Their relationship changes when Shea meets Jake’s daughter Stacey she is a special girl and can’t help to fall for her too... I don’t want to give much away but the journey between Jake and Shea is a beautiful story full of love, laughter and healing, they’re have a great connection and Shea is the perfect guy to help bring Stacey out of his shell with the help of all the animals in the Forget me Not Ranch... you can’t help to fall in love with -almost- all the characters in this story, I highly recommended this book, you need to read it!!!

Wow. Beautiful story about a cowboys , a single dad and a ranch . Perfect combination.
This story draws you in from the beginning when Jake has to go to a team building weekend at Forget Me Not Ranch. Not wanting to go leaving his daughter behind, he arrived late and meets Shea , the owner.
Shea takes Jake out to get some food , but he ends up wasted.
Shea is drawn to Jake but thinks he's married.
Jake is a city man not knowing anything about ranch life, but he's honest and sincere.
Shea wants to sell the ranch and move up to New York to pursue his modelling career.
Their weekend goes by so quickly , then Jake has to return home . Both men keeping in touch. Their friendship/relationship grows .
This story is full of laughter and some tear moments. But so worth the read.
Fell in love with the characters .

This book is full of surprises. It starts so light and funny that I never would have imagined the emotional roller coaster it would be. This is not your typical cowboy x city boy story, it has so many sides to it, so many feelings.

Jake´s little princess Stacey melted my heart and her scenes with Shea sure brought tears to my eyes everytime.

Shea and Jake had so many layers to be unwrapped, both so complex and deep, beautiful souls. I loved how Shea was not the stereotypical cowboy and had such empathy in his heart, always thinking of others and being so kind all the time. And Jake´s dedication to Stacey really touched me. I loved how he grew and learned from his past mistakes

This was a beautiful love story and deserves all the stars.

This is a classic Felice Stevens romance but it’s not your ordinary Cowboy meets City boy romance, it’s so much more. From start to finish you have excellent characters, fantastic dialogue, humour, heartwarming and heartbreaking moments. There are so many excellent secondary characters, including the animals, that enhance the story.

Jake & Shea appear to be different men from different worlds wanting different things but together they realize those differences are what makes them work. They are so beautiful together and sweet. Jake’s daughter Stacey is his number one priority and I love how Shea accepted that and loves her unconditionally.

If you are new to Felice Stevens and/or this genre then I highly recommend this book as it is the perfect starter book to get a feel for the authors writing style and to experience gay romance at its best.

This was such a sweet story. I loved the premise and how Jake and Shea immediately bonded and knew the other was special. It's true that opposites attract as these two were quite different but ultimately wanted the same thing and I loved reading their journey and HEA.

A big mention for the secondary characters in this one too, I loved every single one of them and the relationship between Stacey and Shea was adorable to read as it developed.

One of my favourite things about this book is where the characters end up at the end. There isn't one MC giving up everything for the other, Jake and Shea were able to divide their time between NYC and Texas in a way that made everyone happy and with minimal drama. It may seem like a silly thing to mention but love doesn't have to be all or nothing and Felice did a good job making the solutions feel real.

A great read which once you start reading is hard to put down.

Sometimes, I crave a romantic setting, and sometimes I enjoy a western setting. Felice creates the perfect story by using both of these settings! I’ve been reading this author’s work for years. She has delivered soul wrenching, love stories centered in New York and a riveting mystery series. Ms. Stevens has now produced the scorching hot, and equally sweet novel, centered around the most tranquil and perfect Texas ranch, called Forget Me Not.
Shea is a fantasy cowboy that is part hunky rancher with a dash of supermodel charm. Lordy, I’m fanning myself now, and the room I am in is freezing! Speaking of supermodel, Shea has been doing some modeling on the side for years. Wait for it—he does underwear ads. So we have a charming and gorgeous man that has no issues with doing the backbreaking work needed to run a ranch, and does not have the big ego attached that could come with his modeling success. He has always assumed he would leave Forget Me Not to live in New York City, and capitalize on his modeling while he is still young enough.
Shea admired and loved his father, who sadly passed away not too long ago. He had planned on leaving for the big city earlier, but couldn’t leave his sick parent. Now he is free to go, but life seems to be throwing some curveballs! Here comes Jake, an HR executive, on a company retreat being held at the ranch. Along with a few watery mishaps (I will let you figure that out on your own), the two men face a serious attraction. I loved Jake so hard. He works for a job that mainly gives him grief, to provide for his daughter who, at the age of 4, stopped talking without any explanation. His ex husband Brian couldn’t “deal” with a kid that was not perfect, and just walked out of their lives. Unexpectedly, having a great time at the getaway, and feeling a bond towards the polite and gorgeous cowboy, Jake schedules a vacation with his daughter Stacey.
The interactions between the little girl, and all the animals on the ranch, was just too precious to describe. Stacey blossoms. Can this magical place heal her unknown trauma? Jake and Shea live miles apart, and have different dreams, but they seem made for each other. I loved this story, and want to urge you to give it a try. I simply can’t recommend this enough. The charming tale is laced with adorable animals, a troubled, but angelic, little girl that’s loved fiercely by her father, and a cowboy that will make you long for life on the Texas frontier. Happy Reading y’all!

Oh my gosh! Cowboy and underwear model? Ummm, yes please!!! I just loved these two!!! This book grabbed me from the start and didn't let go! I laughed, cried, and didn't want it to end. These two are so perfect together. I loved the whole thing from beginning to end.

This is a very sweet, sexy, moving, and cute story – be ready with a hanky, but there are a few giggles along the way, mainly due to Jake's misadventures at the ranch!

We know from the blurb that Shea is a cowboy that also models underwear... so the bar is set high, and Jake sees that from the moment he arrives at the ranch for his enforced dude ranch experience. Little does he know that the whole of his life, and that of his daughter, is going to be turned around in the very best of ways from this encounter. I really enjoyed the relative ease with which these two men acknowledge what is happening between them. The fact that they live in different worlds and have different lives is not such a crazy issue, because we know that Shea has options from the start. I also liked how we get to know his father through the values that he lives by, and his attitude towards Stacey too. I will say no more, you need to enjoy the experience directly. It was very refreshing to read a book where hope of a future was given plenty of leeway to succeed.

I would say this is the perfect escapist book that many of us need – comfort reading with plenty to engage one's emotions and one's smile muscles. 😀
