A man’s body is found in the park, all leads are pointing to the strip club he’d visited the night before. Nothing Chief Cunningham can’t handle, until the M.E notices some peculiar and irregular signs of decomposition. And then... a second body.
Rayne lives in the Arizona desert, free to leave her house whenever she wants, she chooses not to risk death by sweltering sun demons. Instead, she stays safely indoors with a computer and all the words she knows, slapping them together in any which way she chooses in the moment. Often gory, sometimes erotic. She loves the limitless boundaries of writing, and tends to push them toward extreme.

Rayne Havok and I didn't start off on the best of terms, which is why I didn't make it known I was reading this story. Something somebody said in their review got my attention and I decided to give it a go.
I almost feel proud to say that Rayne is growing as a writer - this story is a huge leap forward. It wasn't perfect, but it was a damn good story. Because it was a STORY, and not just senseless shock factor bullshit.
Male bodies with unusual deformities are being found, and are possibly linked to an elite strip club in the area. Tula, an exclusive stripper at the club, is a person of interest, especially to the chief of police. What knowledge can Tula possess that could unearth answers to the bizarre deaths?
This is a well-written and suspenseful story with interesting characters, plenty of thrills and much eroticism. Rayne Havok takes her writing skills to the next level with a well-developed plot and an involving story. I was thoroughly engaged throughout, and appreciated the apt finale. Whether you already are a fan of this author or are a first-time reader, this book will eat you up.
I flipping loved that..You know when you know but you don't know what?..Yeah that..I actually hated Bradley and Keith I've never hated one of Raynes characters before but boy did I wish for their deaths..It got quite serious at the end there putting things in to perspective. It left me nodding my head.
What the heck!!!! This is one sexy book (in a twisted way). The details of the strip club are vivid and vibrant (btw, it sounds like the best strip club in the world). A body shows up in the park, no obvious signs of death. They know it's linked to the strip club, but how?
This one took a turn that was completely unexpected and fun. The ending was the best
Another great story from Rayne Havok. I have really liked everything I have read from her, but one thing about this is that it feels more fleshed out; more developed. Again, I think all her work is great, but this, to me, shows the author pushing herself and really expanding on the mechanics of the craft. There is a definite maturing of her skill as a writer on display here.
So yeah, great story, well-written, despicable characters, sex and gore, what more could you possibly want in a story?
What a throughly enjoyable little read with hidden meanings.... Welcome to Vīrya, the pleasurest of all strip joints. The cost is small if you abide by the rules and please don't let lust consume you as you may just piss off the givers of life..
Rayne told me recently that she is capable of writing a bad story, I am yet to discover one!! This was awesome, I was hooked from the beginning and held til the brilliant, brutal climax! I love Raynes writing and will continue to read more of her books, although I'm quickly running out! 😭 Loved it 🖤🖤
Well that was a awesome read. I've been reading Rayne Havok for awhile and she never disappoints she always brings the brutality and violence which I love. In the story necrosis the thing that stuck out to me the most was the story and character development that was shown in this one. I enjoyed this book a lot as it was a kick ass violent monster story. I look forward to the next one from Rayne cuz after this solid read I feel like Rayne Havok is only getting better and better. Good solid read
This book was just bad. I never want to read about a woman from the perspective of a man again. It was like being in a man’s twisted wet dream, with a little revenge horror at the end to make it seem like it wasn’t just a list of fantasies. This book also had so many typos and grammatical errors, I almost couldn’t look past them.
This is the second novella I have read by this author. I bought this title on a whim because I had enjoyed the first one. I did not read the teaser description which informs the potential reader that a couple of male corpses have turned up and that both men have ties to the same strip club. The assigned police authority Chief Cunningham only becomes worried when the second body turns up and the M.E. apprises him that he has detected some strange and distinctly irregular signs of decomposition in the corpses.
The genre designations were crime fiction, horror. I did not check out the genre or the book reviews before buying it and read it in one sitting.
First, this novella is not destined for literary immortality anymore than the male victims in the book had long lives projected. I happen to enjoy the way this author writes. This story is a bit different because she shifted POVs throughout but this worked for me quite effectively, especially for the two main characters of the cop and the stripper/club owner.
This book reads itself. I was hooked by the first sentence and didn't have a clue precisely what direction I was traveling. The plot is action-driven and the pacing is perfect for this short work of horror. Havok's writing style is clear, concise, and savage when the story calls for it.
I rated this story 5 Stars because I really liked it. I am a sucker for the punchline "Don't get mad" "GET EVEN!" This was not at its heart a crime story in any typical respect. A cop played a pivotal role but that is about it for the police and investigative aspects. It WAS a horror story though and a creative, imaginative one at that. There was nothing unoriginal about it. There was the point where I knew where the tale was taking us I just didn't know the color of the curtains.
I was salivating for a specific kind of ending to the story and Havok delivered in spades! It was truly a "feel good" finale for me which tipped the scale from 4 to 5 Stars.
It was noted that Havok deployed beaucoup explicit sex scenes and the "sex" could be aberant as hell. I will say that the whole lot of sex in THIS story was absolutely essential to both setting up the plot and in the execution of the plot.
Finally I am guilty of not giving short stories and novellas full court press reviews. That said I would recommend this work (and the author) to my friends. The first novella of hers I read "The Embalmer" was crushing a big taboo with a concrete block and brutal prose. This one feels more finished and is genuinely original with a kick ass ending.
HAVOK RUNS AMOK WITH A CHILLING TALE OF MONSTER VS. MONSTER
Rayne killed it with her newest book! This book has a ton of character development and detective type story line. A TON of eroticism she does have a way with words and oh so good... While it's not on par with her past really extreme books don't let this one slip by. I could see this being a good horror movie with toned down sexual scenes.
And today on "Rayne Havok ruins ..." it's sex with strippers. Won't be having that again. Not after what I've read. Gross, disgusting, sexy fun. Something we all need more of. Five stars.
Love the creativity. Love the writing style. Love the storyline. Love the characters! Love the ending!
Tula is the epítome of sexy. She owns a local, exclusive strip club and she owns the men that attend. You could call her a man eater of sorts. When two men end up dead after visiting her club, Chief Cunningham must investigate all clues that lead back to Tula. But Tula is difficult to resist and even the Chief of police finds it hard to not get sucked in.
Tula is the embodiment of sex. When a group of men go out to a very exclusive club for a bachelor party. They all meet Tula. A tall woman with otherworldly features. One of the men becomes genuinely obsessed with her and stays there for a majority of the night. When he asks if he can walk her home, he was never seen again.
Rayne is such a good author when it comes to describing beauty. No matter what it’s about Rayne conveys beauty in such a unique way. Such a fantastic read and take on scuba’s.
Oh my word....... This book really packs a punch. I’d heard great things about Rayne Havoks books on various social media platforms and this didn’t disappoint at all. I really enjoy reading shorter novels and this had more packed into it than some 300-400 page books. I’ll definitely be purchasing more of her books in the very near future. Also... Tula by the way is an absolute legend, I just adore her!!
I was expecting B level horror, trashy but fun, but I got D level smut instead. Author bio says ‘Often gory, sometimes erotic’ - I guess this one isn’t either, uh. It’s hilariously bad tho, good for a chuckle. I honestly had to google the author twice to make sure this wasn’t written by a 13y old boy and I’m still not convinced.
Once again Rayne just kills it with her sick ass stories. This one is a tad bit milder on the blood and guts side but the story is rocking!! I mean, where do I find a strip club like this? Take my money. Just take it all!!! I wonder if Google could find me a place like this??? A girl can dream.
This author has a an amazing way of bringing a story to life in your mind with so much detail and depth, that you just can't stop reading. This book was no exception. It has all the horrors, but goes beyond into a world of twists and wonder. The characters where perfect and tula was my favourite. She has a way about her that you admire but then you learn more about her and your views alter. A story filled with horror, intrigue, lust and twists. You just can't put it down. I'd definitely recommend.
I liked Tula's story. I was honestly surprised by Bradley's shift in personality. I really thought he was a decent guy. I fully recommend this book but be mindful of the trigger warning ⚠️
