I received an ARC of this book and this is my voluntary and honest review. This is the first book I have read from Franca Storm and now that I have, I am not sure why I haven't discovered this author before. As a huge lover of MC romances this book ticked all the boxes for me. It had the grit, the drama, the alpha bikers and the strong women that choose to love these rough Harley riding guys. I found I had an instant connection to Mason and Lucy and the chemistry between these two characters was sizzling. Like most novella's this doesn't contain a lot of background but the way the story is written you will find that you don't feel like you are missing anything at all. I will warn you, you may want to be in air conditioning when you read this book as things get very hot and steamy between these two. Mason and his very domineering ways will have you flushed and your heart racing with his sexy dirty talk. Great start to this new series and well worth every one of the five stars.

This was a fairly quick, easy read based around a somewhat forbidden romance. Mason is the Sergeant-at-Arms for the Steel Titans MC and has always held a torch for Lucy, his best friend and fellow club member's little sister. After being good friends with her, he turns cold so that he doesn't get into anything with Lucy that they'll regret as her older brother is extremely protective to the point that she is going to move away to a new town and open a boutique jewellery store just to get away from his overbearing ways. After Lucy's brother leaves the club temporarily for unknown reasons, Mason is left with watching over her for her brother. Their attraction to each other is too much to contain and they act on their feelings.
If you've read a best friend taboo romance before, there won't be any surprises here and the plot is fairly predictable. Mason is protective and possessive, but the author did a good job of making him likable for the most part as he gave Lucy space to breath and didn't want to be controlling like her brother. I found some of his traits, such as the bad boy, possessive male (you know what I'm talking about - they're all the rage at the moment) was laid on a little too thick at times, making parts of the book a bit too over the top for me. He was heavy on the dirty talk in parts and the alpha male 'you'll want me so bad' business was trotted out, making little Lucy's heart pitter patter. This was obvious and made for clunky reading at times, but I know some readers will eat it up. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't a struggle to read, but I like a bit more nuance.
Some of the comma use was a bit heavy in parts, but the writing was pretty solid for a majority of the book. I like that the author made Lucy a pretty strong female that could hold her own in a rough situation (physically) and wanted to be independent. That didn't stop the plot from having a few occasions where Mason rushes in all protective to be her white knight. Again, some readers will enjoy this but it was pretty obvious and laid on a bit thick to make Mason a jealous/possessive type. There were some steamy scenes. Lucy was inexperienced and, of course, Mason knew his way around. There was one part where he spanked her when losing his cool with her and she started moaning in pleasure. This had me actually rolling my eyes. Sheesh. This combined with Mason having flashbacks to when he had Lucy's body 'at his mercy' and the like made parts cheesy.
Apart from the predictable plot and the thinly veiled attempts to make Mason an over the top alpha, the main reason I rated the story three stars was the story line about the brother, Cole, that would intermittently appear throughout the book. Cole disappeared for personal reasons, which ended up being club business that his prez knew about. Unbeknownst to Mason who's in charge of their security (so I don't know why he'd be out of the loop), Cole was retrieving some ex flame of his who not only came on to Mason in the past, coming between the two best friends, but was also indirectly responsible for Lucy being attacked at a party. Nope and nope. Then this chick who was also with the rival leader of another MC just waltzes back into the club and they're all supposed to be okay with her even though she apparently caused trouble for them in the past? I'm not sure if this plot line was in there because it's the basis for another book focussing on Cole in this series, but it added very little to this story, putting a bit of dampener on it if I'm being honest. There was all this build up about Cole being overprotective that you'd assume the issue of Mason dating his sister would blow up, but Cole being a selfish prick meant that this didn't even happen to a large degree as his entry with an unwelcome female character became the focus and it really made no sense. It made the ending lackluster as this aspect of the story was chucked in there after there being no real detail or build up about it in the rest of the book. It left a sour taste in my mouth and, unfortunately, no desire to continue with the series.

WOW, this is the first book I have read of Franca Storm. She did a truly amazing job writing this story. I just love MC books and when I ran across this book on Facebook I knew I had to try out this series and see how well I would like it. Let me tell you the characters are truly amazing and the storyline is freaking awesome.
You have to feel a little sorry for Lucy. Here she was having her overprotective brother and her former best friend in the MC. Both hugely protective and both trying to smother her. She was a woman that had a rough life. She had real street smarts because she had been on the streets. She was a woman that was trying to find herself and was finding it very hard to do so. I loved that she expressed herself through her hair color and her tats. She is one that looking at her you realize you can not judge a book by its cover. Looking at her you would think she is probably a tattoo artist and very experience and wild sexually. This is not the case. She might have street smarts with purple hair and tats but she is truly innocent.
OMG, can you say panty melting. Mason Cross was truly that. He was a member of the Steel Titans MC. He had it bad for Lucy but had distance himself from her because he did not want to cross the line with Lucy’s brother and his brother in arms Cole. Mason had promised Cole he would protect Lucy and keep a close eye on her and he did just that. Upon this he found it very hard to keep his distance and his feelings in check.
Lucy’s roommate Abi was something. I can not wait to read a book about her. I bet it is going to be a good one. She is one that is pretty wild and one of Mason’s MC brothers has his eyes set on her. Abi in this story will find a way to put Lucy in harms way not meaning to. This is something that angers Mason and to be truthful he had every right to be angry.
My heart broke for Lucy and Mason. They will see Lucy’s brother Cole go down a road of distraction and there is truly nothing they can do about this. There will be some pretty hard decision to make. Looking forward to a future story on Cole as well.
I love that we get to see Mason really bring Lucy out of her shell. She was truly a strong woman and just needed someone to be supportive and give her that little push so she might shine.
It was funny to see this battle between Mason and Lucy. Mason was really warring with himself and this was so frustrating for Lucy. Lucy had big dreams and I did love that Mason was a man that was determined to not stand in Lucy’s way of her dreams.
This is truly a great book and I am going to have to read the next book in the series. I am defiantly hooked on this series.

Very little rhyme or reason for some of the things in the story. Ages brought up within the life yet when lockdown is instigated takes off. Then takes down three rival gang members. No follow up, just lots of sex and a weird ending. Not a keeper or follow up.

Review:
The story of Lucy and Mason took me on a roller coaster ride of emotions. Their relationship being a push and pull from the get go. And I loved it. First and foremost Mason is a biker with a heart only for Lucy, who he believes that he is protecting from everything and everyone including himself.
The story starts off with Mason on protection detail. Looking out for Lucy while her brother is away on club “business”. He works with the mentality that his feelings for her no matter how deep they run don’t matter as long as she safe. Lucy on the other hand has had with both her brother and Masons overprotective nature. And wish Mason saw her as more than the little sister to his best friend, and see as the woman she has become.
Which all changes one night after a terrible date, where her date damn near demands she changes everything that makes her, her. Lucky for her Mason was outside waiting. That night sends their friendship into a world wind on a serious Rough Ride. (Pun intended). Nothing about their relationship is soft besides their feelings for each other.
Like any good romance novella or novel there are the twist and turns in this story. The first one coming into the story happens after the first time the become intimate. Lucy neglecting to full disclose an important piece of information to Mason, in which he takes it to heart. And the second coming with a serious twist I was not expecting and took me by surprise. Now I’m not going to say what it is because I don’t want to spoil anything.
Recommendation:
This is a story for anyone who loves a good old fashion down and dirty romance erotic novel. Franca Storm did it right. She bring the reader along on the romance ride of the characters. Making you want to go out and find yourself a leather clad dark knight. So yes I do recommend this. Giving four stars because even knowing it is a stand alone, I feel like we are left hanging on a cliff, and I for one would for the story of Lucy and Mason to continue.

Unbelievable
Cole, Mason, and Lucy. Friends who grew up together, Cole and Lucy are brother and sister. The guys join the Steel Titans MC, protecting Lucy while doing so. Mason and Lucy have a connection deeper than just friendship. This all is a good storyline, well you would think it would be. Unfortunately, the author crash and burnt the storyline completely.
Mason turned against Lucy, knowing how much she loved him. Once they got together, he found out that she was a virgin. Supposedly he has always loved her, keeping her in the dark because of the bro-code.
Cole is sent on some super secret mission for the MC. Leaving more questions than answers in his wake. Due to the nature of the mission, Lucy's life is in danger. Cole picked the mission over his sister's life. Then he got pissed because Mason and Lucy are now together. The president of the MC, purposely kept vital information away from the other club members and from Mason. Making it worthless for Mason to even have the title of S.A.A. The backstabbing and hidden secrets, make this a worthless MC romance.
Now let's talk about the characters themselves.
Mason is over the top alpha. Cole is the weak minded selfish brother. Lucy is the little sister trying to prove her strength. Supposedly Lucy is strong enough to overpower men bigger and meaner than she is. Supposedly she's smarter than other men.
The author did such an injustice to the basic storyline. Definitely not worth it to even try to choke through another book by this author.

I love MC romance, they are one of my favorites. Franca Storm is a new to me author, and she has made me a fan. I can't wait to go back and read her other MC books after this. Riding Rough is a MC, brother's best friend romance.
I loved Mason and Lucy. Their chemistry and attraction was off the charts. Lucy grew up around Mason and has loved him for as long as she can remember. Mason is a huge jerk to Lucy to keep her at arms length. When he saw her as more than Cole's little sister he knew had to back off. Mason is the Sergeant-at-Arms for the Steel Titans, he's mean. dangerous, and when it comes to woman likes things a little different. Lucy is sweet, and innocent and he doesn't want to taint her. I loved that Lucy is everything he expected her not to be. She kept up with what he likes in bed and gave it back just as good. Lucy is strong-willed, fierce, and sassy. She is the kind of heroine I love to read.

And when Mason snapped things got hot!! Like I needed a shower hot. Mason and Lucy were perfect together and I could not get enough of them.
Riding Rough was well -written, and had me hooked from the start. I could not get enough of these two. This book has made me a Franca Storm fan. If you love MC romances then Riding Rough is for you! I cannot wait for book two!

Love this fast paced, “rough riding” MC story (and by rough riding I mean it in more ways than one).
Mason, Luce and her brother Cole had grown up together and after the deaths of their parents were all the family the three of them had. Luce has always had a major crush on Mason but he treated her like a little sister due to her brother Cole. So having him watch over her while her brother was out of town was pure torture. What Luce didn't know was how much torture Mason was under due to being close to her as well. Especially when Luce throws down a challenging taunt to tease him. As if that wasn’t enough of a problem for Mason, they end up lockdown and trouble is on the horizon with Luce right in the middle of it.
The Steel Titans are a tough alpha group who ride, live and love hard. I highly recommend checking out Riding Rough, it is a an awesome start to what I foresee as a good MC series. 2 Thumbs Up!

This is the first book in this series. Also, the first book I have read by Franca. Mason Cross has been asked to watch over his best friend’s little sister. Once upon a time she was one of his best friends too. Then he pushed her away because he was seeing her as more than a friend. Lucy is tired of being treated like a little girl who needs protecting and babysitting. Her brother left on a mission for the club and didn’t tell her anything. Now she is stuck with a different babysitter. She has had a crush on Mason for years and can’t take him anymore. He acts like he doesn’t even like her anymore. How long will Mason be able to hold out? Mason and Lucy are great together. They compliment each other so well. The are partners and he won’t keep anything from her. This book was a great read. The characters are great and loved them. I was sucked in the minute I started reading. I can’t wait to read the next one and see where the series goes. Great job Franca.

a super fast paced mc romance that I absolutely loved. the overall premise was rather cliched but the book came together really well and the history between the couple and Lucy's brother Cole was slowly revealed through the book to help keep things in perspective. the violence wasn't over the top and the sex was dark and dirty but the romance was sweet. I particularly loved the ending when Cole & Mason faced off and the result of that confrontation. this was the first book I have read from this author and it definitely won't be the last. I will admit to starting the Black Thorn series way back when book 1 was released and I was loving it but when I realised it was going to end on a major cliff hanger I just couldn't go on with it. now that I have read this book I know I need to go back to Reckless & book 2 Soulless. Looking forward to Liam & Abi

This wasn't like anything I have read before. I was hooked by the 2nd chapter and wanted more by the end. I fell in love with Mason and Luce there love story is one in a million. The steaminess just climbs higher and higher the more the story goes on. The Roughness of Mason was hott, he was all alpha ll the time and didn't care who or what got in his way when he wanted something he went for it, which just happened to be Luce. Luce is my hero in this story she is a strong independent woman that doesn't need a knight in shining armor that's for sure. This story will blow your mind its easy to read and follow and the word building is out of this world amazing. MUST READ

Great intro into the life of The Steel Titans MC. Lucy has loved Mason forever but thinks He only sees her as a younger sister. Mason has stayed away because of the code of never going after another members family. With Cole -Lucy's brother-in-law away on club business it comes down to Mason to keep watch on Lucy and after watching her upset after a date disaster things between them combust. Great set up for future stories and I loved how Lucy despite being small was also kick-ass. This she had to fight to prove it .
Needing to read Coles story now as at the moment can't see myself liking Natasha at all !

when Lucy decides to move forward with her life, her brother at leaves town. Lucy's brother asks his friend and brother Mason to watch her while he is gone . I really enjoyed watching Mason decide if he was going to let his feelings be known while protecting her, or if he was protecting himself by not showing his feelings. It was nice to see a female lead know where she wanted to go in life and not let the man make her emotions what controls her. This is my honest review for a book I read. And I really enjoyed this book and this was the first time reading this author

Franca Storm has a great way with an action packed sizzling tale!
It starts off hot and just gets better and better!
Mason and Lucy are connected due to a shared history but they both fight their attraction and feelings but once they get woken up there is just no turning back! They are very passionate people and that brings out a lot in their actions with each other. What Mason fails to realize is that even though he wants to protect Lucy he has taught her how to protect and care for herself! It’s one of their biggest problems.
I loved everything about their story!

This is the 1st book in a new series and is Mason and Lucy’s story. Mason is the Sergeant-at-Arms in his MC, and this dirty talking alpha had is really bad for Lucy, who is the sister of one of his brothers, and he does not want to cross that line, despite the battle of wills between them.. Lucy has had a rough life and she is street smart, and the chemistry between her and Mason is sizzling. This is a well written story which is raw, gritty, heartbreak, and love which all leads to a steamy and all-consuming read. I cannot wait to read more from this author, and I recommend for all MC lovers.

Had potential
The base line of the story wasn't bad, just the characters and how they come off ruined it.
The female wasn't very likeable. The fact she was supposed to be betrayed as as some strong willed bad and able take cake of her self with men 3 times her size was completely unbelievable!
To believe she was a virgin, at 23 ,turned sex deviant was just ridiculous to imagine, but to mention her attitude toward the men for trying to protect her was completely childish.

This was the first book of Franca Storm I read. Riding Rough was a good novella. Being a novella, there was not much background or detail. But I found it to be full of bad ass bikers and typical MC drama. Mason, Lucy and Cole definitely have a background I'd love to read more about. Mason and Lucy's story was full of drama and of course hot sex! All in all, I enjoyed this book and will read more books by Franca Storm in the future.

Wow.. I love how Franca Storm writes! The storyline is fantastic.. the chemistry between the characters Mason and Lucy is scorching hot and the way they collide with each other just brings the passion out on the pages. I'm not new to her books.. I was first introduced to her Black Thorns series. I never read a "Biker" book before then and now.. holy hell! I can't wait to read more in the Hard Leather series.. So bring it Ms. Storm! You're gonna write more soon right!? 😊

Worth reading.
I liked how Cole, Lucy and Mason were so close since they were children. They watched out for one another when they were living on the streets. Lucy is a strong woman who can take care of her self, because Mason taught her self defense. This was a good story. It's definitely not over, because we need to hear Cole's story about what he did and why. Looking forward to reading Cole's story.

This was my first book from this author but it won't be my last. The intrigue of the characters is what pulled me in, I wanted to know more about them. I felt a few of the sex scenes were a little over the top, personally I felt they distracted me from the actual story. Overall it was a good book and I can't wait for the next one.

I received this as an arc for my honest review! This is the first Franca Storm book I have read and am now hooked!! This story followed a MC who has to protect his best friends sister. He has liked her for years and her him but there is a code among the MC... will love win out? This book has great conflicts and steamy scenes. Truly enjoyed every minute of it!!

Steel titans? This book made me speechless, a strong heroine willing to fight but not be stupid with her decisions and so incredibly supportive of her man! A hero willing to protect his woman against all costs but also allow her to fight by his side? Hottest thing ever! Franca Storm this is my first book by you and certainly not my last!

Wow, I loved this book. A great start of series. I couldn't put book down once started. I wanted to scream at some parts.
I loved Mason and Lucy together, they may of been fighting their feelings for years. But being thrown together brought their feelings out more. I loved how they were together. I loved how they didn't let what others thought to stop them.

Loved Riding Rough. The story is compelling and has plenty of twists and turn.If you are a fan of hot Steel Titans MC men with tons of sexual & life experience teaching his best friends little sister about the beast and how you tame him. Thanks Franca Storm for the great read. Took me several hours. I couldn't put this one down.

I loved these 2, yes mason is that alpha male we love and hate in equal measure but Lucy gives it back to him tenfold. They grew up together and already know everything there is to know about each other except missing the bit where they fell in love with the other. Now if I could just have Liam and Abbie’s story, there’s definitely a tale to tell there
