Moonlight spilled in through the wavy window panes and sheer curtains, casting soft blue over the bedroom.

Sleepless, I studied my surroundings—the aged family photos, the antique dresser, the stenciled ladder-back rocking chair—and found the sense of permanence they offered somewhat comforting. Knowing one of the matriarch’s of his family had sewn each green and blue patch by hand made the quilt feel like an embrace, and I held it tight like a security blanket.

I didn’t know Josh. We’d barely spoken since I’d opened my eyes. He didn’t know me either. I didn’t even know me. Still, the faint sound of his breathing in the next room reminded me I wasn’t alone, that my protector was nearby. I guess when you desperately need a hero, you’ll attach that title to anyone who’ll wear it. He hadn’t turned me away or betrayed me when I begged him not to call the sheriff even though I couldn’t give him a reason why. In my desperate state, that made him my champion. Even so, I was panicked and fighting to remain still while every part of me wanted to run.

It’s okay. You’re okay. He’s right in the next room. He’ll hear you if you scream. He won’t let anyone hurt you.

I repeated those words in my head over and over, but while they kept me from bolting out the door, they did nothing to bring me peace. The night seemed endless. If not for the sound of his breathing and the tick-tick-tick of the clock, I would have thought time itself stood still...

3.5 Stars. Whisper Cove is a sleepy little village in Maine. That all changes when an unknown woman literary crushes into the town. Josh, the very busy town Veterinarian, lonely life changes when he saves her life.
Paige brings a boatload of troubles with her. Her life is a total reck, and Josh should keep his distance. That’s hard to do when he finds himself attracted to Paige. Instead of distance, she ends up in his home and bed.
Danger follows Paige, which makes for an intriguing romantic suspense book. There were parts of the storyline that didn’t add up to me, but overall this is a solid start for a new series.

More than a 'steamy romance'

The storyline was gripping. After chapter 1 i was hooked. I needed to find out who Paige was. The sex scenes were well written and were a natural part of the developing relationship. No sleaziness which was good.

Heading home after working almost 24 hours straight, vet Josh Dalton comes across the scene of an accident involving a stag. When he looks over the side of the damaged guardrail, he sees a totaled vehicle with someone inside. Rappelling down the side, he is able to rescue the unconscious woman stuck inside. Taking her back to his clinic, he addresses her wounds as best as he’s able given the fact that he’s a vet. When she wakes up, she doesn’t remember who she is, where she was going, or why she in the area to begin with. When Josh offers to wash her clothes, and gives her a set of scrubs, he finds a paper with the name Paige in one of her pockets so that’s what he takes to calling her.
Now this is the first book in the Whisper Cove series, so we are introduced to many characters, from Ma and Mack, to Jentil, Avery, Logan, Owen, and Chloe. Characters that I hope we will learn more about in other stories. They do play a role in Run, we find out who Paige is, why she’s running, and who she’s running from. It’s nice to see that the residents of the small town take to Paige, and when trouble roars into town, they band together to protect her like she’s lived there since birth.
I can’t wait to see what happens next in Whisper Cove. If you’re a fan of romantic suspense, I recommend this story.

I started reading this to pass the time whilst my tea cooked....almost forgot all about my tea I got so caught up in this! For the most part this is a well written and gripping story, for me though there were a couple of places I had to go back and read a section to clarify something, one example being Logan being in a room with people one minute and then not the next...after re reading it dawned on me time had passed between the two scenes although not written clear enough for my brain obviously!

The connection between Paige and Josh is strong, believable and makes this book. The flow of time threw me a bit at first but seeing the way Paige and Josh's relationship developed and how she as a person developed after everything she had been through made great reading. A couple of places I thought more would happen than did but that didn't stop it from being a good read. I am definitely looking forward to the next in the series.

He saves her but who is she?

RUN is the first book in the Whisper Cove series by Allison LaFleur. Having read most of the Bachelors Incorporated series I was familiar with her writing and storytelling styles and she once again did not disappoint with this book.
RUN introduces the reader to the small town of Whisper Cove and several of the residents. But as we all know small towns can be deceptive. So when Paige is rescued by the very handsome and "sex on a stick" town vet, Josh, look out as these two smolder up your Kindle. But as she cannot remember who she is or anything else in her life due to amnesia from the accident, there may be things that neither was expecting. They will have to go through a lot to get to their HEA, if they make it that long that is.
This is a wall written and very engaging book. Once you start you won't be able to put it down. I look forward to reading the next in this series.

I received an ARC of this book from the author for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.

Loved, loved. loved this story. It has a lot more depth that most romance novels but still manages to fulfill all the romantic requirements. Paige is fleeing for her life when she is involved in a serious car accident. Josh manages to rescue her just in the nick of time. When she regains consciousness she has no memory of who she is or why she is in danger but knows she needs to keep running. After Josh (the local vet) leaves for his clinic she panics, grabs the biggest knife she can find and jumps into his car to get away. She soon looses direction and ends up by a stream in the woods.where she crouches by a tree holding the knife in front of her. Later Josh finds her and takes her back home persuading her she needs to let him keep her safe for the time being. Will whatever danger she is hiding from catch up to her and destroy them both and will she every remember what that is.

Seaglass Drive is full of suspense, the unknown, and romance. Paige Is running for her life, if only she could remember who she is, why she was running, and from whom. After crashing her truck and being rescued by Josh, the handsome lonely town veterinarian, she tries to remember the simple details of her life. She never expected she would have to put her faith and trust in strangers, or that she would fall hard for the man who saved her life, she begins the path to unlocking her life mysteries.
Hands down can’t wait to read more from Allison LaFleur and Beneva Clark. This was the first I have read anything by them but most certainly won’t be my last!

Suspense, a little mystery and romance.
Paige is running from her past when she's involved in an accident and Josh is the one who rescued her.
A remote town where every neighbor knows the other, it’s a perfectly peaceful place to start anew.

Josh and Paige had to navigate murder, amnesia, a hit motorcycle gang, human trafficking, and a baby delivery by a veterinarian in their attempt to find their HEA. The characters were strongly drawn especially Jentil. Many wonderful characters to become a series. Very good read.

Great thriller

This story kept you engaged until the end. Loved the main character Paige. It would really be terrible to not know who you are or where you came from. Loved the romance and HEA!
