For Rachel Barnes and Matthew Hamlin, love has never factored into their carefully laid plans. But that was before they met each other.
Busy with college and work, Rachel Barnes has never worried about things like having a date on Saturday night. But when her best friend, and self-designated town matchmaker, makes it her mission to set her up on a virtual blind date with her smoking hot Army Captain brother, Matthew Hamlin, Rachel finds no excuse good enough to turn it down.
The connection is instant, but with him half a world away, several forces threaten to tear them apart for good. And between his career and hers, they struggle to keep the faith. But an accident overseas leaves everything up in the air and forces them both to confront just how deep their feelings actually go.
In the end, it all comes down to a choice.
Let go of the fear. Or let it consume them both.
Left On Read is a short read, complete at 20,000 words, and a standalone not attached to any series. There is a HEA, no cliffhangers, and absolutely no cheating. There is, however, a nauseating amount of fluffy cuteness.

Are you a a fan of Romance in an ever changing modern world? If so, this book is definitely worth a read for you!
Left On Read is a fast pace short modern love-story with a modern military undertone.
It's a love story between two people who have been on the edge of each others lives for as long as they can remember coming together and finding common wants. As with most books, the location is ambiguous so you don't get any of those pesky slip ups - but it has Southern American charm evident in Matt's cheeky yet charming southern drawl.
It has a modern military under theme, featuring video calls and highlights the difficulties families face on a daily bases with the limited contact when things go wrong. This provides some angst and some character reflection in an otherwise fun, light-hearted romance. This also makes the inevitable 'reunion' that much sweeter.
All in all, it was a quick, enjoyable read with a little smut at the end that didn't take anything away from the romance.
