Anna has a lot to learn from the men who had become her masters!

This book is set on Earth, sometime in the future, when a race of aliens had returned to the planet it had previously visited eons ago. The Alien invaders known as Kobar were now in control of Earth, and while men were drafted into Military service. At the same time, the young human females were sent as a living sacrifice to become companions to Kobar Warriors for a period of one year. As a "Civil Servant," Anna was supposed to be exempt from the role, but her headstrong ways had caused her to be included. Endor was one of the most powerful beings on the planet and had arranged for Anna to become his Cadre's property, the three warriors who would share her. Anna was the product of a broken home, and the experience had left her with many psychological scars as a result. She was quick to anger and had become indifferent to others, thinking only of herself. Serious character flaws that Endor and his two mates intended to correct while Anna was in their care. I found this book had an interesting storyline that grabbed my interest from the very beginning. Anna was resentful and angry about the situation she found herself in but soon became accustomed to their punishments and erotic lovemaking. The three men demanded her obedience and rewarded her with pleasure when given, but also punished her for her disobedience. They delved into her painful past and made her see her character flaws, helping her come to terms with the past and see the pain she caused by her callous disregard of other people's feelings. She blossomed under their care and soon became accustomed to her new life. As time passed, Anna began to care deeply for her men, and in return, they asked to make their time together permanent, having fallen deeply in love with Anna. I found this story absorbing reading. Anna had a lot to learn about herself and the love she found with her men.

Anna has a job helping human women on their transition through the lottery. When the Kobar warriors arrived on Earth, they require women to be their mates. When a woman is bought through the lottery, they have rights to her for a year and they can try to persuade her to be their mate. Anna has been too outspoken and rude with her Kobar boss and he arranges to buy her. Anna isn't happy about this, but her masters use a combination of pain, pleasure and humiliation to start her thinking about her entitlement. They do have a HEA, but the journey there is fascinating. I enjoyed the world that the author built and I'm looking forward to more books set here.

I didn’t know why I continued

Ehh. She just fell in “love” with them, after being humiliated and degrade her for being a diva, like come on.. at least put her in a deathly situation where the males redeem themselves by saving her and shit, but she ended up saving the male through, you guess it, boom chikabang bang. I think the second book was at least more interesting in terms of their relationship development. I didn’t mind the spanking, just the instalove.

Pleasure in the pain

I absolutely loved the guys in this book! From the beginning to the end I saw their connection, their love for each other, and their care for the people around them. I was not as enamored with their leading lady. At least not in the beginning. But as they shaped her and helped her grow, she kind of grew on me. Underneath her pain there is a woman full of caring. I enjoyed the action and danger, and of course the heat that the author brought to the table, and I can’t wait to read what’s next.

So I understand the genre and I understand short length books and the subsequent fast burn.
But this almost felt like any kind of development happened off page, or the middle of the book was missing. One second she was hating people next she was falling over herself to build a lifetime bond? I dunno it went too fast for me.

The series so far kind of reminds me of The Controllers series, without the ‘omega’ factor.

Don't really like how this book is written. FMC is way too childish. Her dialogue is cringe worthy. I couldn't finish the book. MMCs are...meh. Similar to the FMC. The dialogue is not very good.

Anna is an administrator for the women's lottery and he misbehaving and disrespect to the Sector Commander. The story starts with Endar intending to give correction to Anna for her behavior in the office and teach her a lesson in humility, he and his triad soon find her to be everything that they've ever wanted, with a little correction along the way. Anna finds that she craves their correction and that they along with it they cherish give her the safety and security to love and feel loved by them. She discovers they are not the unfeeling monsters that they've been portrayed as. Loved it, a really great read.

Strength through submission...
After the Kobar Warriors conquered Earth a lottery was established where Earth women were chosen for servitude to the Kobar for 1 year. The civil service contracts were extremely expensive, so it was normal for the Kobar to share their lottery girl. After Anna was disrespectful toward her boss Endar, he arranged for her to become his lottery girl. He would share Anna with his second Tekel and his third Ranzek. I have read better books in this genre. There was not a single likable character here and the story was extremely rushed with no depth. I disliked the world building, not only was it ridiculous to imagine human civilization falling and adapting to an authoritarian aliene species like theirs in only 3 years but the whole concept of the lottery was just abusive.

A lot of non consensual at the beginning. Instalove.

Anna’s sharp tongue gets her in trouble with her alien boss and he decided a spanking wasn’t enough, so she ends up in the lottery. So, she will have three alien masters who will use her any way she wishes. This is a fast paced read with intense chemistry and loads of drama and steam between Anna and her three hot aliens. Great characters and great world building. I loved it!

I thought this story had an intense storyline. Initially I was reading this story with a thought on how it would play out. I was shocked by what happened but as the author revealed more information about her actions, everything that happens from that point makes sense. It was an interesting read.

This is a steamy sci-fi that sees one stubborn self-centered hot-headed human female taken and bonded with three dominant aliens. The author has included some humor to go along with the plot and electrifying chemistry between the main characters. There are some elements of BDSM in this book.

rushed and simplistic

I think you'd have to have a spanking or pain fetish to enjoy this book at all. There's almost no story, and what story there is has NO development -- character, plot, relationship, or otherwise. The sex scenes aren't even written in a sexy way, just delivered in a very simple and functional manner. Disappointing.

DNF! I HATED this. Yes the heroine is kind of a bitch and doesn't support other women.... but we're supposed to look at a bunch of rapist aliens as being the good guys because they punish and exploit her and "help her see the error of her ways"?? nah. EVERY character here sucksssss.

NONE of this was hot to me.

To start, the ML Endar is an overbearing asshole who used his authority to abuse her under the guise of "teaching her a lesson" when what he really wants is her submission, humiliation and control. They dehumanize and mistreat her emotionally and sexually but we're supposed to think this is a romance when there is NO bonding or connection at all??!

Next, his second / third partners are just there to further punish an humiliate her, there no personality or romance there either.

Lastly we've got Anna. who I did not care for in the slightest. She's dramatic, willfully ignorant, impulsive, snotty and a bit of a whiner. She thinks Susan is her friend only to find out basically everybody hates her (and Susan is a faker that thinks she's a diva, but is somehow spoken of better despite being a fake ass lying cow).. all in all Anna sucks, is trash and is immature AF.... but what happens to her is not in comparison to her "sins" IMO.

Does she suck? yeah. But I don't see how being spanked in front of her whole office for being unprofessional did anything. Then when Endar "buys" her, he emotionally decimates her and rapes her repeatedly.... all to make her "feel more of what the other girls go through".... UH WUT?? We're supposed to laud this man for what exactly??? perpetuating the slave trade and continuing to abuse women??? BARF

ALSO! Technically, dumbass Anna had no idea how the system REALLY operated and she had no say in helping the girls or stopping anything, so yes, her half assed "hang in there, this is for the good of earth" comments were unfeeling.... but there was literally nothing else she could have done instead?? We're also told earth has no jobs and there's not a lot of food, so if she lost her job she'd basically live in poverty, that also takes what is done to her and makes it worse, especially since he's her boss. Should she have taken a stand and spoke out and quit her job, yeah, but realistically she didn't deserve everything that happened to her.

UGH. none of this was appealing and I HATE the "woman gets r*ped and punished by guys but it's ok because she needed discipline and deserved everything she got and it's ok because in the end they love her" trope.

Dopo aver letto Una fanciulla da domare di Demi Lane ho cercato altri libri simili, a quanto pare oltre ad amare i Paranormal Romance con i mutaforma hanno iniziato a piacermi moltissimo anche quelli con gli alieni. Ho trovato quindi questa serie e devo dire che mi è piaciuta e ora aspetto che vengano tradotti i seguiti.
All'inizio non pensavo di leggere il primo volume, la trama non mi convinceva del tutto, ma dopo aver letto il secondo, che mi è piaciuto, ho deciso di leggere anche il primo volume.
Quindi sono andata al contrario con la storia ma comunque essendo volumi autoconclusivi non è stato un problema, semplicemente capisci solo certe decisioni che vengono prese dato che alcune decisioni dei Kobar sono stati prese nel primo volume. Altre decisioni che sono state prese nel secondo ci fanno avere un'idea di cosa accadrà nel terzo.

Come ho detto la trama del primo volume non mi convinceva ma poi sono stata catturata dalla storia del secondo volume e lì conosciamo, molto brevemente, Anna. E l'incontro tra lei e Marissa mi ha incuriosita, quindi finio il secondo volume, che mi è piaciuto, ho deciso di recuperare subito anche il primo.
Anche se la storie si incentrano molto sulla parte erotica comunque c'è una storia e una trama e mi sono sentita coinvolta e sempre più curiosa di sapere cosa sarebbe successo.
Certo inizialmente non è la storia d'amore da sogno, sia Anna che Larissa sono costrette a stare con questi Kobar, tra l'altro non sono uno ma tre. I kobar poi amano anche molto la disciplina e si fa come dicono loro, quindi in queste storie di roa e fiori non c'è nulla (quindi se decide di leggere questi romanzi siate coscienti che c'è della violenza nella relazione quindi non è una storia per tutti). Ma bisogna anche dire che a modo loro sono molto amorevoli. Non so se vorrei trovarmi al posto delle protagoniste ma comunque la parte romantica mi piace molto e spero che traducano il terzo volume.

Lo stile dell'autrice mi piace è coinvolgente e scorrevole. Purtroppo ci sono alcuni errori nella traduzione ma niente di terribile.
L'autrice è riuscita a creare un mondo molto ben strutturato. Il mondo post guerra e post invasione aliena è qualcosa che mi è piaciuto molto.

The writing and editing of the ARC version of the manuscript was clean, with no typos that I found and well constructed sentences. The world building was not nearly as detailed in this novel as it was in this author’s Ventori Masters series. There were also marked similarities in the world building in the Ventori Masters series and this novel. The characterization was well done, with the heroine and three heroes all being sympathetic individuals with strengths and weaknesses. The development of the romantic relationship was well done, being both organic and hot. I would rate this romance novel as five chili peppers. The plot and pacing were tight and exciting, meaning that I read this novel in one sitting. There was a medium amount of well justified angst and very high stakes, which tends to be one of my preferred narrative structures for a romance novel. This novel had the Mating Bond trope, the Alien Invasion trope, the Brat trope, and the Enemies to Lovers trope. The characterization and development of the romantic relationship were both four stars in this novel. The plot and pacing were also four stars. The world building was three stars. I therefore gave this novel a combined rating of four stars. This novel had a Happy Ever After ending instead of a cliffhanger ending, so that was a big plus. I recommend this novel to readers who enjoy sci-fi romances with BDSM elements. I look forward to reading the next book in this series when it releases. I will probably buy myself a keeper copy of this novel.

I’m not feeling them or their punishments or our main character. All I got is second hand embarrassment and I’m sure this book is for somebody, just not for me. Our main character is terrible and weak in the knees. Like if you’re gonna say something, stand on it and the way u thought rules wouldn’t apply to u bitch… you’re wicked and an aid in the unconsensual pimping of women. and she’s weak in the knees STAND UUUPPPP… STAND UP! So yeah this story is about her redemption arc but ugh all I got is humiliation. Yes she would’ve been jobless and homeless for a minute if she didn’t get spanked, but if I say smth, especially if you’re gonna be boldly racist or specist wtv dxd, TEN TOES DOWN I WILL STAND ON IT, even in poverty. Not all main characters have to be perfect but damn… this bad is crazy. She got no friends cuz nobody like her 😭. “she’s a diva” lmfao. Fake ass bitches though. Say it to my face next time.

Anyways yeah, I can’t even read any further cuz if 3 men or well 2 rn, are gonna rape me physically and emotionally as punishment… I might as well kill myself. I’d kill myself. She should do that so they feel bad. Like get her slowly depressed or something and then they can grovel. Anyways yh this just isnt for me

Anna Corvina is up there. She works for DCS and as the Director of Human resources she believes she is above everything. Her little outburst hot her a hot butt but she seems to have a problem controlling her temper. When her number comes up, it is a shock. It shouldn’t have happened to her. But she is going to learn the hard way.

Anna didn’t expect to be chosen in the lottery. She was exempt or so she thought. When she has to be her boss and his cadre play thing, she isn’t about to take this. Tekel, Ranzek and Endar all paid handsomely for their lottery and it helped when you had connections that can assure you a particular one. Ranzek is not in the picture in the beginning. He is on a mission and you know that this will mean something more towards the end. Tekel is the one with all the interesting ways to discipline someone. And Anna learns what that means. Endar, I think he had a thing for Anna from the very beginning. We learn about each person’s past and what might be important. Anna learns a bit about herself and finds the security and love that she needed. There is a series in there. I can’t wait.

Satisfying and well developed

Ivy Barrett has been on my radar for a while but I hadn’t gotten the chance to read one of her books yet. I wasn’t sure what to expect. When I saw the page length, I had some concerns about whether a good story could be developed in that amount of time. I have been pleasantly surprised. The book jumps right into the action but nothing feels rushed or haphazard. There is an organic feel to the characters - they have depth, charisma, and natural chemistry. The storyline flows well and the perspectives from multiple characters help paint a better picture than just first-person perspective for the female lead. We see substantial growth, introspection, and honest character development. I always appreciate a realistic take on alien invasions, and we get that here. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, highly recommend it, and very much look forward to reading more from Ivy Barrett.

it’s a good read with interesting characters

I enjoyed the characters and their growth to each other. At first I wasn’t sure when Anna, the lead female, was entered into the program. The discipline was over the top. I struggled with it until a situation happened where Anna took back the power dynamic and it was fairer. Ender, the top lead male, was a good person and I think he saw that they had been way too rough in the first training. The next day an emergency happens so Ender has to leave Anna with his second. However his second Tekel was definitely out of sorts his angst and anger without Ender and the third, Tekel seemed to fuel a rougher discipline for Anna. He should have apologized for that training because it was definitely too much for the second day even with Anna’s defiance. The overall story was good and world building interesting. Read On!

An Awesome Read!!!

I really enjoyed reading Theirs to Punish(Kobar Mates Book 1). All about Anna Corvino a young women who runs the human breeding program on earth. Anna is a very strong opinionated person and extremely passionate about her job. Something has just come up that will be detrimental to the program. Without thinking she storms into her boss’s office and gives him a piece of her mind, then storms out slamming his glass door!! For her outburst she is given two options to repent, be fired or get a spanking. Read about Anna & her kobar Warriors and the many adventures they have. There is a lot of emotions going on thru out the entire book. I enjoyed reading this and can’t wait to read book 2!!!

These alien-alphas may be dominant but this little human is going to give them a run for their money. She is not only a handful, but she is just as arrogant and prideful as they are; demanding and bratty. They will show her humility and and have her willingly give her submission to them before the year is through because when this lottery girl's number came up, it may have spelled bad need for her but it was a win for them.

This is Anna who works to get human women ready for the auction. Women are auctioned off for one year to aliens. They can stay or go back after a year. She is rude to her bosses. They arrange to buy her, she does not think she can be auctioned. They buy her and train her through punishement, humiliation, and pleasure. The characters are all great and with aliens there is always a great story to be had. The story was well written and it progressed nicely. I really enjoyed the book.

Anna's outspokenness and rudeness to her Kobar boss causes her to have the most humiliating experience at work. But will she learn that he has all of the control? Becoming a lottery girl was not supposed to happen, but when she disregards his orders to behave, drastic measures are taken. Will her attitude change when she realizes that her future depends on her cooperation? Will she see that she is only harming herself? Will she come to trust that he, and his cadre, only have her best interests at heart?

Theirs To Punish

Anna worked for the Kobar who came to Earth after their world was destroyed. The Kobar were the ones who helped develop the people of Earth. They were not welcomed. It was futile because they are more advanced. Anna didn't like them and her boss disciplined her but that didn't seem to work so she was put in the lottery where women had to serve them for a year. She would serve her boss, Endar, and his two other friends. Tekel and Ranzek were all for it. There is more to this story but you should read for yourself. Really good book.
