When a dangerous redhead invades his office and his base, and warns that his team is in danger, Director Jonah Grayson doesn’t know if she’s friend or foe.
Former elite Army aviator Jonah Grayson was forced to give up flying, but now serves as director of the covert black ops team, Team 52. He takes care of the brass in Washington D.C. to ensure his team can do their job: keeping the world safe from dangerous, ancient artifacts. But when he’s confronted by a tough, skilled, mysterious redhead with a warning that his team is being targeted, he’ll do whatever it takes in order to find out who she is and what she wants.
Evan Fletcher’s life has imploded. She’s on the run, been labeled a rogue and traitor, and she knows a very bad, powerful man has Team 52 in his sights. He’s after a deadly artifact and wants the team out of his way...but Evan plans to stop him. She’ll use all of her particular skill set to bring him down, clear her name, and protect Team 52…and that includes the team’s handsome, oh-so-tempting director.
Surrounded by danger at every turn, Evan and Jonah are drawn to each in ways they can’t explain. To keep Team 52 safe, stop the enemy, and find justice for Evan, they will put everything on the line. But when you’re under fire, trust is hard, and falling in love is even harder.

I’m a USA Today bestselling romance author who’s passionate about fast-paced, emotion-filled romantic suspense and science-fiction romance. I love writing about people overcoming unbeatable odds and achieving seemingly impossible goals. I like to believe it’s possible for all of us to do the same.
I love hearing from readers and you can find me on Facebook, Instagram and my website: www.annahackett.com
A tall, dark, and handsome but guarded former military pilot and a fiery, redheaded rogue CIA agent must work together, and through their attraction, to stop an ancient Egyptian power that could doom the world if in the wrong hands, literally.
🔮Action adventure romance with a touch of paranormal 🔮Two betrayed people learning to trust again—with each other 🔮Instalove + instalust 🔮Found family + team dynamics 🔮Meet cute (she breaks into his office and ties him up) 🔮End of the series
Team 52 director Jonah and former CIA agent Evan have their turn at romance in the conclusion of the Team 52 series, Mission: Her Justice. While I of course wish we could’ve introduced all new characters and kept the series going, I love the little family Anna Hackett has created here in Team 52, and wouldn’t trade them.
Jonah and Evan were a great match; hardly any angst, and they always met each other where they’re at. They also communicated, and trusted in the other’s competencies, and bonded through shared trauma. Overall simple and safe.
I highly recommend checking out Anna Hackett if you’re looking for romances with a variety of backdrops, from crime and thriller to action adventure and sci fi and beyond. Should hopefully be something for everyone if you’re looking for generally insta-lust/love, guaranteed HEA romance with a variety of cool ideas as plots and settings.
The end of Team 52 closes appropriately with Jonah Grayson's story - the stalwart and stoic director of Team 52 falls the hardest and the latest in Anna Hackett's "Mission: Her Justice", rather predictably however, for a mysterious redhead who seemed to appear out of nowhere.
Like the rest of the series, this is a book that stands somewhere in the middle of part-urban-fantasy and full-on adventure storytelling, premised on the idea that ancient, advanced civilisations left trails of their knowledge now deemed too dangerous for the world to possess. Enter Team 52, tasked to retrieve these artefacts before the baddies try to stake their claim on it. Jonah and Evan's story is no different, an instant lust and love type of relationship (that honestly needed at least half a book to develop, not 10 pages) that pretty much falls by the wayside of Evan's revenge plan.
Admittedly I'm still stroking my chin in bewilderment after I've finished reading: the crazy-rushed way that both went from distrust to full-on commitment, the lack of detailed checks I'd expected Jonah to do on Evan, the speed at which he seemed to believe Evan's innocence, the quick sex and the even quicker falling in love...all factored into my inability to cut the scepticism away, especially with plots such as these.
But if you're in for the non-stop action, the saved-by-alien-technology-as-the-way-out kind of plot with a happily resolved end for everyone--and I mean for everyone involved--then this is the book to go for. I just wish Hackett would write a fully-expanded story that would have been brilliant given the depth of her imagination, but her novellas of late have tended to disappoint more than thrill.
Interesting adventure but I didn’t feel the love. For me if I were Wait. Huh. Was gonna say if I were just looking for action and adventure I might have loved,or well liked this more But you know what ? I’m not sure. if that’s true. Even and Jonah just never clicked for me. Their chemistry felt forced to non existent. They felt like one of those couples that love each other simply because this is their romance story and their doing was their told. Which I guess is saying a lot for someone like Evan who wants to go right if you say left or up if you say down . But still,no,just no. Why ? I pretend you ask ? Well lots of niggly little reasons all along the story but what really helped unravel it all for me was at the end, Evan is bragging to someone, possibly the new CIA chief of something ,Evan brags that Jonah has had faith and belief in her from the VERY beginning and it NEVER wavered. Pardon my Snort as I disagree and cough in my hand as I say BS to that. See that’s the thing,Evan and Jonah almost had good chemistry but to me at first it was too hit and miss . One minute Evan is annoying the crap out of Jonah and saving his life as she tries to warn him of a traitor she sadly can’t name . Then the next she’s almost taken out by mercenaries in broad day light at a Las Vegas hotel ,when Jonah hears he’s ready to burn the world down to save her,but right after saving her, even though she’s saved his life and things aren’t really adding up fir her being a traitor he still treats her like one . Now according to Jonah’s backstory, he grew up in such away he had to learn how to read ppl from an early age to know who to trust, that coupled with betrayals during his military career Abe his time as a director he should ,should have a good read on Evan. He should know whether he can trust a few moments of conversation with a stranger over all the time he’s spent with her. But he doesn’t . He treats her wounds and goes off and leaves her handcuffed on a stretcher in a room alone. Might sound like a small thing but it’s an important detail. Because they go from that and Evan escaping to him finding her to suddenly trusting her to then just a day or so later going off to Egypt together and suddenly their in love and he’s wanting to plan a future together. Wait, what ? Yeah,I know Ms. Hackett’s books can move fast but to go from meetings and a tiny bit of chemistry, Tony but of trust,no trust at all to going on a mission together and full blown trust and “I love you’s” in the span of barely a week ? That gotta be done really really well to be convincing and these two just weren’t . Heck Arlo and her ( spoiler) Mom made more sense and they were almost a blink and you’d miss them kinda thing. Then almost non stop action with a baddie that was done right omniscient at times and the heroine having to take lead and play lead bad A because that’s what her ego seemed to demand. Jonah almost felt submissive to her at times. Kinda sorta . He definitely felt like the damsel towards the end. Yeah, off start then wishing a week instant love and worrying about whether she’ll leave the CIA to be with him. No. No it just didn’t feel right or real. I mean unless you call the meat in a burger at McDonald’s real, then maybe it was. I’ll be back because Ms. Hackett is too good to stay away from . Won’t recommend but that’s me, maybe you’ll enjoy what I did not. It’s KU
Mission: Her Justice (Team 52, #8) will have you on the edge of your seat. Sexy, hero, heroines and action to stop the world of evil. Men and women who are the real heroes that no one ever hears about.
When they find their partners they hang on and will do anything to protect them and their families even if it's not by blood.
A solid end to the Team 52 series. Not enough emotional conflict for me between Director Jonah Grayson and disavowed CIA Agent Evan Fletcher. They both have troubled backgrounds, certainly--she's trying to clear her name and he's trying to save his team. But they clicked from the get-go and never really doubted each other. Plenty of action. Steamy sex. Interesting history. Cameos from other Anna Hackett series.
Is it wrong to say that the subplot between Evan's mother and grumpy artifact wrangler Arlo were my favorite part of the story? I love it when mature characters have important things to do in a story. I could have read a whole book about Raquel & Arlo.
Series: Team 52 #8 Rating: 4 stars - It was really good
Jonah Greyson, director of Team 52, is determined to find out who the tough, mysterious redhead is who warned him of his team being targeted. CIA agent Evan Fletcher’s is on the run, been labeled a traitor, and is still determined to help Team 52. While trying to stop an ancient artifact from ending up in the wrong hands, Jonah and Evan can’t keep their hands off each other.
I can’t believe we are already at the end of the Team 52 series! I am sad that it is the end, but it was a great ending. As most people who have read this series from the beginning, I have been eagerly waiting for Jonah’s book, and it did not disappoint!
Jonah was just an alpha male as I expected him to be. He was protective of Evan but he trusted in her abilities to defend herself and never smothered her. Jonah’s backstory was surprisingly heartbreaking but it pushed him onto his current path. Evan was betrayed by her company but is determined to bring down the real criminal. These two were great together. They made great partners in the field, they were both skilled and deadly fighters, and they could relate to each other’s pasts.
Besides, Jonah and Evan, we also got to see Treasure Hunter Security’s Declan and Layne back in action. I loved that we got some treasure hunting time with these two again! They made great additions to the story and we get a bit of a life update with them. Also I loved that the artifact was Egyptian! I love anything that has to do with Egypt so I really enjoyed this adventure.
Overall, this was a wonderful ending to the series. Like I said before, I am sad, yet happy, that this is the ending of a great series. I do kinda hope she releases a short novella after this about Arlo because I need more of that grumpy old man!
Trigger Warnings: gun and knife violence and injuries; death of a parent from domestic violence mentioned; neglectful parents mentioned;
A little predictable, but an okay wrap up to the series. There's a small tie-in with the Treasure Hunter Security series, which I prefer over this one, so that lifted my reading spirits a bit. There's also a brief mention of a character in the author's new Norcross series, so that ties all three together.
Evan and Jonah are perfectly fine as heroine and hero, but I didn't connect with them especially well - I almost liked Evan's mom and Arlo's relationship more. And I still forgot some of the previous intra-team couples, which is either a sign of my distracted mind lately, or that I didn't enjoy them that much the first time around.

Will she let her defend down enough time to let the right man enter her life...
I was curious about Jonah’s story since the first in the series. And it does him well justice. And even if it means saying goodbye to the Team 52 members, Greyson deserved his happily Ever After. I did not really know what to expect for Greyson’s tale, as he was mostly a figure in the shadows, the one man behind all the tractations and a quite secretive man. Yet, he is much more than that, he has his own hidden scars and darkness, enough to perfectly understand Evan’s plight. She is the one who disrupts his orderly life, now she has crashed in his, he needs, to regain control to find her, and to seek answers. Evan has devoted her life to her job, but everything went flying down when she came too close from some bad truths and was framed to erase her from the equation. To rescue her and clear her name, she will have to trust a stranger, not an easy feat when everyone turned their back to her at the first hiccup.
In all, a great way to close the doors on the Las Vegas special ops team with a action/steam/friendship packed story. 4.5 stars
Jonah amd Evan were a great ending fornthe series and the aurprise of Arlo finding love was great. Rachel was a fun addition to shake things up.
Fantastic ending to this series, though I'm sad to see it end. I thouroughly enjoyed learning about ancient historical artifacts while virtually traveling the world and fighting off power hungry bad guys.
MISSION: HER JUSTICE was a bittersweet read as it's the end of the TEAM 52 series, but I liked this action packed romance. Jonah Grayson has been the stoic director of Team 52 and he generally stays behind on missions running things from behind the scenes. But now he's front and center as he tries to track down the mysterious redhead who broke into Area 52 and tied Jonah to his chair. Evan Fletcher is on the run after being betrayed by the CIA but she also wants to warn Jonah about the danger his team is in. As these two team up, they travel to Egypt track down an artifact and stop the bad guys.
I loved how tough Evan was and she was a perfect match for Jonah. Both have been burned before so trust isn't easy but they're both looking for someone to love. Together they were on fire! I also liked that we got to see Dec and Layne from the connected TREASURE HUNTER SECURITY series.
This can be read as a standalone, but it is much more enjoyable when the series is read in order. Despite the focus being on the director of the black ops team, Jonah and the mystery woman who broke into his base undetected, all the beloved characters from previous books make an appearance to thrill faithful readers of the series. There is lots to enjoy in this book, mystery, suspense, action, adventure, humor, twists, and of course, romance!
The last Team 52 book.. and it is very clever... Evan is trying to warn his team... but he just wants to know how she got in.. Then when she is injured he rushes to her aid.. but again she slips out.. The best character in this is her mother! There are ambushes and a trip to Egypt .. and Arlo gets more than he bargained for... Very Enjoyable!
The Team 52 series has always had a Stargate vibe for me, between its location right next door to the infamous Area 51, and it’s mission to protect and study powerful ancient artifacts, also very much like Stargate.
In this final entry in the series, there’s even the equivalent of an Asgard head-grabber, and just like in Stargate, the head it grabs is that of the leader of the team. In this case Jonah Grayson, the leader of Team 52.
Evan Fletcher’s solution to the problem was a lot quicker, considerably more visceral, and much more permanent than anything the TV show ever came up with.
But Evan has way more skin in the game – even if she’s not quite ready admit it to herself. Because in a contest between a priceless repository of knowledge and the life of the man she has hesitantly and so-very-reluctantly come to love – there’s absolutely no contest at all.
Only a fight for survival and love that Evan is determined to win – no matter what abyss she has to drag Jonah Grayson back from or how much he kicks and screams along the way.
Escape Rating B+: Mission: Her Justice is the wrap up for the entire 8-book series, and it’s difficult to talk about this one without referring to the others.
This one feels like the payoff for the whole series, meaning that it only sorta/kinda stands alone. Except for the first book and this last one, the series can otherwise be read in any order, but the first book, Mission: Her Protection, sets the stage for the whole thing and this one puts as much emphasis on wrapping up the series as it does on the individual romance.
The Team 52 series is more action/adventure romance, like Treasure Hunter Security and Norcross, than it is like any of the author’s science fiction romance series. So, in spite of my reference to Stargate, this isn’t SF in the way that Hell Squad or Eon Warriors are. (Although if you watched Stargate really, really hoping that Sam would get together with either Jack or Daniel or both, you’ll love Team 52.)
But Team 52 is just as good, and just as much sexy adventurous fun, as Hell Squad and Eon Warriors, just not quite in the same vein. Although plenty of veins get sliced open or shot through. There’s a lot of danger in this romantic mix.
What makes the romance in this entry in the series particularly explosive is that Jonah and Evan are both beyond leery of loving or trusting anyone outside an extremely tight circle. Both have been betrayed by teammates in the services to which they gave allegiance, and both have learned the hard way that anyone can be a traitor – and that their own instincts can be their worst enemies when it comes to figuring out who.
What makes the romance hard-won in this story is that the pain in both of their pasts results from teammate betrayals and not romantic betrayals. They’re not just afraid to fall in love, they’re afraid to believe that anyone might be on their side for any reason whatsoever.
That’s a hard chasm to jump, which makes it all that much more rewarding when they finally do.
I will admit, however, that I found Evan’s particular betrayer to be a bit too much of a generic douchecanoe. Brennan read as merely “bwahaha” evil rather than a believable villain.
But we’re not supposed to like Brennan, so finding him both unlikeable AND unbelievable didn’t affect my enjoyment of the story all that much. I always love the romance in this author’s series that feature the team leader, and Mission: Her Justice was no exception to that rule. I loved Evan as the heroine. And I especially enjoyed that her mom even managed to get her own HEA to sweeten the entire deal.
Team 52 has been a winner from beginning to end – and it definitely went out on a high note. I hope that we get glimpses of this crew in the author’s later series(es) just so that we can see how well their HEAs turned out!
4.5 Stars for MISSION: HER JUSTICE in Anna Hackett’s TEAM 52, 8 book Action/Adventure Contemporary Romance (slightly Paranormal) series. I thought HER JUSTICE was a Strong finish for TEAM 52 - tying the various storylines from previous books together, introducing an unexpected new romance and solving an old mystery underneath Egypt’s ancient ruins. I have really enjoyed this series.
MY RATING GUIDE: 1= dnf/What was that?; 2= Nope, not for me; 3= I mostly enjoyed it; 4= Yes, I LIKED IT A LOT!!; 5= I Loved it, it was great!!
Team 52 is a Covert Black Ops team based near Area 51, NV. The selected members have been recruited among the best soldiers in any US Special Ops unit. The team has been assigned the classified duty involved in the collecting and storing of unusual artifacts discovered worldwide - potentially dangerous antiquities originating from unknown ancient civilizations. TEAM 52, an 8 book series, follows this team as they travel and respond to related global emergencies, oftentimes finding themselves in extremely dangerous situations as they dispose of the dangerous artifacts.
HER JUSTICE, the final book in the series begins with team 52’s director Jonah Grayson/MMC being warned by a mysterious red-head, former CIA Evan Fletcher/FMC, that someone has plans to take down his 52 team. She doesn’t provide details but the threat has been made and soon shots are fired. Director Grayson calls in assistance from Declan, head of Treasure Hunter Securities (available as a separate series) and together they lock-down another global menace.
HER JUSTICE is a Proximity/Danger action-suspense romance that can be read as a standalone title but since each book in the series features a different TEAM 52 member, the main characters from the previous books all overlap. Anna Hackett’s novels feature strong, smart, capable women and honorable, former military trained, alpha-type guys that appreciate the strength and intelligence the women bring to the fight. I enjoy the occasional Quirky humor and writing style that prevents Hackett’s novels from becoming too angst-filled or dark. Books #1, 2, and #6 (Her Protection, Her Rescue, and Her Freedom) were my favorites in this series as they packed in the most action, intrigue and interest for me. But HER JUSTICE, as the final book, IMO did a wonderful job pulling everything together for a strong finish. I look forward to beginning both EON WARRIORS (a Space Opera) and NORCROSS (a new Contemporary Action-Adventure Romance) other Anna Hackett series soon.
Anna Hackett has written other Action-Adventure-Romances in Space Opera (2), Dystopian (1), Future Fantasy (2+) and additional Contemporary series (2) as well. TEAM 52 was the 5th Anna Hackett series I’ve read so far. Her books are among my favorites in any suspense genre - Contemporary; Space Opera, Fantasy, Dystopian. If you enjoy HER JUSTICE be sure to check out other works by Anna Hackett.
*READER CAUTION - Readers who prefer only Clean fiction will want to look elsewhere. Not recommended for YAs. VIOLENCE - Yes. Covert Spec Ops action with deaths and gun fights but not depicted in particularly dark details. PG-13. PROFANITY - Yes. Frequent use of strong language. SEXUAL SITUATIONS - Yes. The 2 main characters are attracted to each other and their relationship develops into Steamy and Detailed intimate scenes, ending with joint commitment and a HEA.
The boss man of Team 52 finally finds love and happiness, but not before he fights some bad guys, nearly dies, travels halfway across the world, and almost loses himself! As Jonah Grayson has watched the members of his team find love and happiness, he has become keenly aware of his own lack of love in life. Evan Fletcher has been betrayed by someone she trusts at work; as a result, she’s wary of trusting others. She is quite capable, however, and Jonah is curious and impressed with her ingenuity and her ability to get in and out of his office without being detected. She’s trying to warn him and his team, but can’t give away too much info, because she knows he and his team will assume that the lies that are being spread about her are true once they discover her identity.
This story moves quickly! In one scene characters are in Las Vegas, in the next scene they are headed somewhere else, usually within an hour or less. They are seeking the truth, and they like to dig deeper than the surface, to see if things hold up in the end. Ms. Hackett does a great job of pacing this story, and making these characters seem real with their own struggles and conflicts. Evan’s mother is quite a character as well, and adds some spunk to this story. Ms. Hackett also brings readers up to speed on the lives of prior characters from other Team 52 books. Between the struggles they face together, the pain and heartache these protagonists hold within, and the camaraderie and personalities of the team members, this book is a roller coaster ride of grit, sadness, happiness, trust, and determination. It will leave readers smiling!
“Mission-Her Justice,” gets your blood-pumping with edge-of-your-seat suspense, thrilling action, powerful, vivid scene descriptions, excellent character interaction, desert-hot sensual romance and a phenomenal conclusion for this enthralling standalone series. At the end, I still was craving more.
Director Jonah Grayson leads a compelling, dangerous life being the boss-man of the covert black ops Team 52. His work ethics have kept his team safe while they secure ancient dangerous artifacts. Each of his team members is lucky they found love while performing their risky jobs. Jonah is a catch with his charismatic persona and head-turning sex appeal. He has never met a woman that occupies his attention for a commitment. Evan Fletcher storms into his life with her striking hazel eyes and fiery red hair. She’s, a rogue CIA agent, not her fault hiding from her lying boss. Evan is trying to prove to Jonah and Team 52 that she’s not a traitor. Helping them stop her back-stabbing boss from attaining two powerful ancient artifacts is a priority to clear her name. Evan and Jonah face a vast amount of horrific dangers before achieving their happy forever.
Fabulous well-written read with praise-worthy characters and an entertaining plot that keeps you turning pages until the end. Backstories give the reader insight into the character’s personas. The author shows trust is crucial in all relationships. Jonah and Evan’s chemistry and love shine in this read; a perfect match - loved them together. Relishing this uplifting read, I voluntarily reviewed a pre-release copy.
Mission: Her Justice is the finale of the Team 52 series. Every one of the stories have been fascinating with so much fast paced action and excitement. Each Team 52 member finds their forever love as they battle those whose nefarious intentions could have serious global ramifications. I absolutely loved every character and every story. I am a huge Anna Hackett fan!!
Let's see, in Mission: Her Justice we finally really get to know Jonah Grayson, the enigmatic director of Team 52. Up til now we've only had brief glimpses but en[ugh to know he has impertant connections, powerful friends and is the head of one of the most elite black ops teams in the world.. Oh! and he rocks asuit like nobody's business.so. when Evan Fletcher manages to infiltrate the very well protected Area 52 to give Jonah a warning...let's just say he's intrigued as well as furious. Evan has pretty much lost everything. She's been branded as a rofue agent, her reputation is is shambles and someone is trying to eliminate her. She knows too much. Giving a heads up to Team 52 that someone is gunning for them too, is the least she can do. She's not exactly welcomed with open arms once she's identified and picked up. Reluctantly she spills what she know and Team springs into action. Ancient secrets of the Egyptians and a couple of artifacts that could be the keys to unlicking those secrets become the focus of thebTeam. Evan proves her worth as a team player and seasoned covert operative. But more than that she captivates Jonah. Both he and Evan avoid entanglements but that's because the right one hasn't come along. Almost losing one another solidifies their growing feelings.
I've cheated a bit with my rating here, as the fourth star is entirely for the wonderful final chapter, and the warmth I generally feel for this series, my gateway drug to Anna Hackett, an author that has got me through the challenges of early parenthood not once but twice.
Jonah's story on its own was a liiiittle disappointing. Looking back, I think I was expecting more of a reveal or a twist about the mysterious leader of Team 52. Turns out, there isn't really a mystery, which was a shame. So after 8 books, we focus on a character we barely know falling in love with a brand new character, so sadly there wasn't a huge investment for me. It's a shame, as Anna Hackett is fiendishly good at laying groundwork for future stories, so I'm a bit baffled why Jonah didn't get the same treatment? Brooks and Callie are my absolute faves, but part of me wonders if a Jonah/Callie pairing might have been better (for Jonah at least) as at least there's familiarity... although boss/employee smoochie time is hard to do well without being icky.
However, I did really enjoy the finale, it was action packed and kept me guessing, and Evan's mother was a treat. I'll always feel a huge fondness for this series, and I want to go back and reread (mostly Seth, Smith and Callie/Brooks). I'm sad it has ended but thankfully, Ms Hackett writes fast and there's another alien fix around the corner, huzzah. Always helpful when one is in a never-ending lockdown funk.
Director Jonah Grayson runs Team 52 and their covert missions, so he is surprised when a mysterious redhead breaks into their secret compound to warn him that they’re in danger. Evan is a CIA with information that has her on the run, and on her own. She knows Team 52 and it’s sexy director are in the line of fire, and she will do her best to help. Team 52 and Evan must work together to fight the threat against them, and find the artifact that’s at the root of it all...
This is the final book in the Team 52 series. Each book is a standalone romance, BUT it does build on top of events that have gone on before (including next book hooks at the end of each book). This means they’re best read in order, but honestly... that’s no hardship, because Anna is a great writer! We learn so much about Jonah in this book, and what got him where he is. Evan is a match for him in terms of strength and resilience, and she’s a capable person.
There are a few nice treats in the book for fans... Treasure Hunt Security makes an appearance, and Arlo gets something that makes him smile. Evan’s mother is a character worth enjoying, as is Jonah’s cat. All in all, an excellent ending to the series, you won’t be disappointed!
Recommended for all Hacketteers and lovers of sci-fi romance/action-adventure romance.
Jonah, the stoic leader of Team 52 finally meets the one woman that can ruffle his feathers! I mean really, how many times do you think he's been tied to his office chair before? Nothing like some light bondage to get the juices flowing:)- Sorry, couldn't resist. Mission : Her Justice introduces us to a supposedly crooked CIA agent (who happens to be our heroine) Evan. She is on a mission to clear her name and maybe, just maybe, Jonah is the one to help her. Her initial impressions about him don't hurt either: "...he's six-feet-something of delicious, hormone-scrambling male....Strength, power, and her catnip, danger, radiated off him..." When their missions overlap, Evan proving her innocence and Jonah stopping her crooked ex-boss from getting his hands on a dangerous artifact, they combine forces and work together. The usual adventure, travel, and sizzling attraction ensue. An overall fun romp though exotic places while facing tough odds. And meeting up with some old friends from the Treasure Hunter Series is icing on the cake! I really enjoy Anna Hackett's books because they are just an easy and fun read. Yah, a tiny bit repetitive in theme, but in a comforting, going to revisit old friends, kind of way-with a few surprises thrown in. A great "conclusion" story in that Jonah gets his well deserved HEA. I received an ARC of this story to honestly review.
Good story. This is my favorite couple from the series. Loved their exchanges. I also loved that Arlo got his girl also. Though it would've been nice to have had more of their story. The only thing I didn't like about this book was the fact that this author is leaning into the sex over and above the story ''pit'' that a lot of today's authors fall into. I buy books to be told a story. The characters non stop thinking about or having sex is not a story. It's wasted opportunity to give your story and characters more depth. And it's in my opinion lazy writing. I have authors (Laurell K Hamilton, Christine Feehan and more ) that I love their characters and stories they come up with but wont buy their books simply because they are more interested in having the characters be obsessed with sex then they are the actual story. I don't mind a sex scene in a book but more then one is really unnecessary. I wont read them and end up skipping over those parts of the book. Which is why I wont buy them. Why buy a book you will only read maybe half of. I borrow them from my local library. That way I can read the book and not be throwing away money on a book I'll wont read all of.
Even thought this book has to much sex in it, it is still a good read.I recommend it.
Jonah has been the mysterious leader since the beginning. He's the power behind the team, their biggest protector and promoter. He can't believe that his so-called covert team has been falling in love like skittles - even Ty and Brooks! He's not jealous - really he's not.
I loved learning more about the man underneath the suit. His childhood and the injury that pulled him from active service.
Evan is like CIA wunderkind! She was the golden child until she uncovered some traitorous dealings and she was blackballed by the very person she was investigating! Now she's trying to get justice but whilst also trying to keep Jonah and his team safe from the machinations at the CIA. She did not think that Jonah would become her hero...she can save herself thank you very much!
Where do I start??? Rogue CIA agents? Team 52 getting in the way of their plans? Arlo having a life beyond Area 52 (Surely not I hear you gasp!). It's heartwrenching when you have to say goodbye to a fab series, as much as you want books for decades to come LOL. But Jonah and Evan deffo bow out with a bang. There are lots of little surprises, not just Arlo. There's a wee cameo from another team and the MOMSTER. I will say no more in case I ruin the surprise!
It's Jonah Grayson's the director of team 52 turn to find danger, passion, adventure and a whole lot of 💘love!. Jonah has a troubled past just like the members that he had selected for his incredible team and he didn't trust easily. That's why it drive him absolutely insane when a gorgeous redhead invades his underground secret bunker to warm him that his team is in danger. He will do anything to find her and find answers to what's going on. Even is a top CIA operative who looks like she's gone rogue. But has she? No, she's been set up by one of the very few people she's trusted with her life. All for some sort of ancient artifact and now she needs to protect herself, clear her name a x make sure the member of team 52 don't get caught in the cross fire especially their sexy director Jonah Grayson. At first there two intelligent, strong willed people clash, but the sparks turn to fire of need and passion. Both need to learn to trust each other if they are going to make it out of the horribly dangerous circumstances that their in. One of the best books in the series! Arlo, our resident vault keeper also gets a very happy ending as well. Fantastic story highly recommend💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖
I love Team 52 and I'm sad to see this series end. But I have hope because Anna Hackett brought back characters from Treasure Hunter Security and it reminded me how much I loved that group. And with her Norcross series, I'll have another group to grow to adore too. So, the end to Team 52 is bittersweet but still, I'm excited to continue to read about this author's strong, competent women and the alpha men who love them.
This book features Evan, a CIA agent who was disgraced when her ex-boss pinned something on her. She was fighting to clear her name but also, to help save Team 52, as she got wind that her ex-boss, Brenner, wanted to hurt the team. She was amazing- strong, smart and competent (her mother was a fantastic character too, and a hoot as well!). I have always adored Jonah and this book was no different. As always, I love how Anna Hackett elevates her female characters and her male characters are so supportive of them, while also, kicking bad guy's bums as well. Overall, this was a fast, exciting read and I'm really hoping that we see more of some of these characters in the future Norcross books.
Wow! Can't believe it's over. Binge-read the entire series in less than a week ;) I like that it's kinda come full circle not just with this series, but THS as well. Good story. Fitting ending to the series. Although I have to say the 3D printed guns bugged me. Cool story idea for sure, for like an assassination or a regular homicide but they'd be useless in a full-on gunfight the way it's described here since they wouldn't last for more than a single shot maybe two. As for the romance its basically a better version of Ty and River's story. I liked Evan a lot better than River and the chemistry between her and Jonah is at least somewhat believable. Still not a fan of cryptic, cat and mouse games and all that. And even though I quite liked Jonah I found he didn't really live up to all the build up of his mystique and stuff over the past 7 books. Definitely liked the couples from the first half better (Lachlan&Rowan, Seth&January, Smith&Kensey, Blair&Luke) and of course, Axel&Nat. Also, her mom single-handedly taking out the entire team ... while the feminist in me might think it cool I've to admit that while reading it, it just made me angry as it made a joke of the entire team. The very same team that's been hailed as the best of the best for the past 7 books.
His base had been breached by a woman, but he was going to find her. Caught in a situation where trust was leading, the cool and controlled Director Jonah Grayson didn't expect the twist that the intriguing woman would give to his life. Evan Fletcher had been betrayed, framed, was alone and with nobody to trust. Stopping the threat became a priority and she gave the voice of alarm to Grayson, but would he believe her? The enemy was powerful, outnumber them and was a step ahead. Interesting how Jonah and Evan share upbringing similarities and opened to each other getting closer not only physical but emotionally too. Action packed story with suspense, intrigue, adventure, exciting challenges, some amusing scenes and comments, violence, camaraderie, romance and heated sex. Always catch my attention the historic information, the legends and the interesting descriptions of the artifacts. Well written story with a fast pace that kept me enjoying the plot development and the strong and interesting characters.
Mission: Her Justice is the final book in the Team 52 series by Anna Hackett. Director Jonah Grayson is looking for a woman. Not just any woman. He’s searching for the woman that broke into his ultra secure top secret base in Area 52, tied him to his desk and then escaped from the base with no-one finding any shred of evidence she had been there. What’s worse he and his team, Team 52, can’t find how she got into the base or how she escaped. They can’t find out who she is or why she says they are in danger.
Evan Fletcher is running, running from her previous boss, running out of time, running out of ways she can help Team 52 stay alive, and running from her attraction to Jonah Grayson. Framed and disgraced she is on borrowed time. She has one last chance to warn Jonah about the danger before she has to do everything she can to stop the danger. At a cocktail get together she follows Jonah out onto the balcony and whilst she is trying to convince him without giving him any specifics a sniper takes aim...
Jonah has always been behind the scenes in the Team 52 series as their director. Now he takes center stage, and boy, can he handle it. We met Evan at the end of number 7 when she snuck into Jonah's office. The action is pretty much non-stop, and the addition of another surprise character is super! I won't say any more about the storyline, so that I don't give anything away. Evan is a perfect match for Jonah. I loved how well they complement each other.
The pace is breakneck, the tone is intense yet upbeat and the storyline is action oriented with good character development and some steamy scenes. The characters are vibrant and kickass, as usual for Anna Hackett! I loved this series and will have to reread this along with its precursor Treasure Hunter Security, and the totally separate Hell Squad. If you like a ton of action, complex characters with your romance, the Anna Hackett is the author for you. Enjoy!
