Read 2: Still a 5 star for me. I was in the mood for some good ole Nichole Rose and this is one of my favorite series from her. I’ll absolutely be going through the rest of the books in this series again. Still love Carter and his OTT instalove ways.

Ok, I had previously written that Teaching Rowan was my first Nichole Rose book, I realized I was wrong and I've read several. This lady is just my style with her OTT possessive alphas. Besides that she absolutely makes me laugh out loud. Especially Luna in this book I was just cracking up. Normally I find the characters that writers try to make quirky or a bit silly to be just annoying. Not Luna. Her no filter mouth had me chuckling out loud in the dark at 3am.

Luna moves to LA to try to make it on her own away from her three overprotective brothers (I'm sure some other books by Ms. Rose will relate to these guys) and the week after she does, Carter moves into her building. He's a police detective who works nights and first meets Luna when he gets awoken at noon to the sound of Biggie coming through the ceiling above. He goes upstairs to get her to turn the volume down and then Luna just word vomits all over him in the best way. Carter is immediately done for. She is definitely his. Add in a super tiny guard dog, psycho ex-apartment manager, and some super steamy scenes and you've got yourself a story!

"I mean, I may be a little kinky and want her to call me daddy, but I'm not creepy or a pervert. Besides, I plan on planting my kid in her and marrying her as soon as humanly possible."

I can't wait to read more from Nicole Rose and this is another of her books going on my re-read list.

New author and I gotta say I enjoyed this story very much. So I can't wait to see the next book.


Carter just moved into the apartment building and before he can enjoy it he wakes up to the music of biggie lol from hisbupstairs neighbor. Frustrated since he works long hours as a detective he goes to complain about the noise.  And boy he is in for a suprise when Luna opens the door.. shes a mix of sass and nerdy she also has a rambling problem that Carter finds adorable.

Also he gets alittle jealous when a mistaken identity happens thinking peter was her abusive boyfriend when in fact it's her adorable tiny guard dog. I love their relationship and if your worried for the daddy kink it isnt extreme.. just the word. 

Tiny ow drama, no cheating, tiny drama, sexy times, Virgin and nothing really on his past.

This really was sweet and very steamy! I’m a sucker for insta-love and this totally nailed it. I also really love a tough alpha with a marshmallow center for his one and only and Carter is all that. And while Luna may come across as a hot mess, she is totally out there making it on her own, so she’s got my vote! Loving this couple!

ok, but some things I didn’t like

This series is getting a little difficult for me to like. First thing I didn’t like in this book is that he slept around with badge bunnies!! This series so far has 3 books with MC that sleep around. It’s not romantic. Especially when the FC is a virgin. Why can’t a virgin FC get a decent clean guy that doesn’t compare his experience with others in the past?? Because saying “I’ve never felt this way before” or “I’ve never tasted this before” is comparing his previous sex with her!! That sex is not something special with a special one. That’s also why I decided not to read Her Alpha Protector, Eli’s story; because in previous book in the series they made it clear that he was a playboy and slept around. Which doesn’t make sense when they always were trying to be careful not to harm their business and people trying to get to them.
Other thing I didn’t like is the chemistry was kind of off. I didn’t feel it much. When they meet, yes he was attracted to her, but he just told her to be more quiet and left (didn’t flirt with her), he also didn’t see her in days until she gave him cookies. If he was obsessed with her why did he wait days without looking for her. Not so obsessive Alpha if you ask me.
Yes, they ended with a beautiful relationship. But from the beginning, knowing he slept around made me feel uncomfortable. And he suddenly feels like he’ll marry her!!. It felt like he was after her for sex, like with the others before, but suddenly wanted to marry her and breed her?!! It didn’t feel organic like in other books.
Sorry, but romance novels shouldn’t have a manwhore after an innocent virgin girl. It’s not romantic nor fair to her.

I forgot how cringe it is to read older 2020 NR stuff. Big YIKES.

In addition to being characterized as entirely too cocky and God's gift to women, Carter's language around how he sees the h for the first time was actually down right predatory and DEHUMANIZING.

Carter (H) is also incredibly controlling and its a huge🚩 how much he leverages Luna's naïveté and sexual/ romantic inexperience to get his way A LOT. She's like a curious little fairy and made her the perfect prey for such domineering man like Carter. Except it wasn't cute behavior coming from a 35 y.o man.

How did I not clock this before? It's incredible what I internalized as okay in the initial read in 2020 but hey, ✨growth✨

There are badge bunnies all over this city, and I'm not a bad looking guy. My job requires that I keep in shape, so I lift weights and run most days. At six-four and two-hundred and thirty pounds, I've always been on the big side…and women love guys my size. But my dick doesn't seem satisfied with any of them anymore. And then when he's talking Danvers about the complex and mentally referring to Luna (h) in his head:

Yes, Daddy!

I'm SO glad my friend suggested Nichole and this book in particular, it was my favorite kind of book!

I adored Luna and her quirky mannerisms and also her crazy lunatic of a dog, Peter. Those two keep me laughing while reading. I also like Luna because she was a curvy girl but not one who lamented about her body/body hang ups...it was just a fact about her.

Carter...mmm Carter. Giant, muscled, hot Detective...what's not to love? Throw in there his bit of kink and Daddy play in the bedroom and I was seriously swooning.

I look forward to reading more from Nichole in the future.

Wowwww! First time reading this author and I couldn’t believe how great this steamy little quickie was! Funny, quirky, but packed with passion and lots of growly, possessive Alpha goodness as the hero claims the heroine completely. And I loved, loved, LOVED the fact the hero is the heroines one and only—she hadn’t spread her legs and thrown away the irreplaceable gift of her innocence on loser dudes. HERO - Carter Grayson. Robbery and homicide detective with the LAPD. 6’4 and 230 lbs of muscle. Dark hair and wicked green eyes. Dimple in his left cheek when smiling.

HEROINE - Luna Goodson. Recent college graduate. Works from home as an illustrator and graphic designer. Long curly black hair and wide blue eyes. Petite and curvy with a soft stomach and thick thighs. Height-wise, she barely reaches Carter’s chest.

OVERALL THOUGHTS - The first thing we learn about Luna, other than her being curvy, is that she’s a Lord of the Rings fan. Ah, I thought. A heroine with refined taste. lol The blurb makes her sound a little rude, but that isn’t the case at all. In fact, she’s a sweetheart. She tries to see the good in everyone and is woefully lacking a filter between her brain and mouth. It made for a charming and sexy meet-cute with the hero, Carter. Peter the pooch was adorable!

I really like the fact that the author included a frame of reference as to what size to picture Luna. I feel like most authors who write “curvy” heroines are really vague about just how big the heroine is. I say don’t be afraid to go all the way! If the character is a size 16, which this one is, just go for it. I’m sure all size 16 women out there will appreciate the representation. Otherwise, just describing her as curvy could mean anything. Hell, you can be curvy with thick thighs and still be a size 8.

Carter is a buff police detective that usually has no problem with the ladies. Lately, though, he just hasn’t been feeling it. Certainly not the psycho property manager at his last apartment complex. One look at the innocent and nerdy Luna, however, has got him falling hard.

I found myself really enjoying this story! There is a little daddy kink, but I personally found it to be quite mild. If you’re someone who’s not into that kind of thing, or if you’re curious but don’t want to dive into the deep end, I think this is a good one to dip your toe in. He just likes her to call him “daddy” and takes care of her in the normal way a significant other would. No age play or anything.

The manager at the new place informs Carter, who decides to get an order of protection. Two after that’s done, Layla approaches Luna in her home, telling her that she’s pregnant with Carter’s baby and he’ll come back to her once he’s finished with Luna. Luna believes her and starts packing her things, intending to head out of town before he gets home. Luckily, the new property manager sees Layla leaving and informs Carter, who rushes home and is able to explain things before Luna can finish packing.

Layla is admitted into a psychiatric hospital thanks to actually believing she’s pregnant (she’s not) and her unhealthy obsession with Carter (her apartment was basically a shrine to him, photos and stolen items galore).

Carter never had any romantic or sexual involvement with Layla, though he did make the observation that she was hot. Could have done without that thought, but it was made in passing and it seemed more like an objective observation rather than an indication of attraction towards her. Especially since he followed it up with saying the sight of her made his dick shrivel.

Her Alpha Daddy Next Door, Book 1 of the Her Alpha series, was about 21-year-old Luna Goodson, who worked from home as a graphic designer/illustrator, and 35-year-old Carter Grayson, a police detective.

Luna met Carter when he showed up at her apartment one morning to demand she turn down her music. He had just moved into the apartment below her and worked the night shift at the local police station. Almost instantly, Carter knew she was it for him. He just had to convince her he meant it.

This was a fast-paced, sweet love story. It had a fair amount of angst and drama, but the spiciness was great. There was only s smidge of push/pull between the two main characters, and there was enough conflict to hold the reader's interest. The emotional rollercoaster had some twists and turns, but they were mild enough to be enjoyable. I liked that both the FMC and the MMC had good families they each got along with. Sometimes it's overwhelming when the families don't like each other or get along all that well.

Both main characters were well-developed and mature, with plenty of room for growth. The secondary characters were pretty wild but hilarious. The humor in the story was off the charts. If there hadn't been so many grammatical errors, this story could have earned a five-star rating. However, it did have plenty of mistakes, so it lost one star. Still, it earned four stars and a place in my Keeper for the Shelves collection.

The author of this book, grips you right away. She does it with the banter of laugh-out-loud humor, as well as, amazing chemistry between the most, unlikely characters. One of them is, light and airy. The other one is, grumpy and rude.

Luna is twenty-one and a graphic artist for children’s books. She enjoys dragon, fairies, and hobbits. Carter, on the other hand, is thirty-five, and a homicide detective who is a little jaded. She's a virgin, and he has been sex dry for months. No woman has interested him, south of the border. Until, Luna. Not only is she sexy, but she is an intelligent woman.

He knows this on the first full night (her day) at his new apartment. When he goes to complain about her too loud music, playing Biggie Small no less. Not only is she not concerned with her safety, by not checking the peephole upon answering the door. She comes out wearing something that she, just as well not be wearing, and coming out naked, making him growl. As they talk she says, way too inappropriate things in general conversation. Further turning him on.

You have to read; see. She gives as good as she gets. She may at first come off as an airhead. But, she anything but that for sure. They are like rabbits once they get to it, but it's out of quick-growing love.

Surprise super fun, sexy quick read😍💖

I was just looking for a quick read before bed something to pass an hour or so and send me into a pleasant dream land. This is the first book I've ever read and I found it in my kindle unlimited and I've already decided that I'll be reading more. If you don't like Insta love them it not for you. Funny thing is I've never been really into the Insta love stories because I usually feel they lack depth character I actually like. Well this book changed my mind. I loved the H&h they had an incredible chemistry from the minute they meet and they are really well written. Luna and Carter are smoking hot and hilarious. They humor alone was worth reading this book. I laughed so many times I still have a grin on my face while typing. It was everything I was looking for. Fun,, sexy, passionate and bonus hilarious! Left me wishing for a bit of Insta love of my own💖💖💖💖💖 well done and totally worth the read!

Carter meets Luna when he's trying to sleep and she is playing her music to loud. Carter just moved into the apartment complex and Luna moved in a little while ago. Carter is a new Detective, while Luna is trying to get away from her overprotective brothers. Carter knows as soon as he see Luna she is his. Luna can't stop talking and when she's nervous she rambles. When Carter discovers someone is tampering with Luna's things he goes straight to the property manager. Carter finds out his stalker has been turning up, so he wants to protect Luna. Carter gets a protection order on Layla, but that doesn't stop her. Luna wants to keep Carter away from her brothers, because they are overprotected of her. Carter wants to meet Luna's family and get to know them, he wants her to meet his family as well. Carter and Luna come to an agreement to get their families. It's an amazing HEA!!

I loved this story. It was entertaining and enjoyable with a touch of drama and angst. The characters were interesting and likable for the most part. Mr. Danvers redeemed himself a little bit by following Carter’s instructions. Layla definitely needed help. Carter was protective, possessive, and over the top. He was wonderful. There were a ton of laughs and I did a lot of smiling while reading this story. Luna was talented, sweet, and sassy. She was a cutie and Carter wasn’t prepared for her. Their interactions were amusing and fun. I loved their happily ever after. I recommend reading this book.

Luna is a bit mess in need of a good daddy!!!

Carter just moved into his new apartment and is awoken by rap music just three short hours after finally getting to sleep after getting off work. Being a detective he's gotta catch sleep when he can, so he goes upstairs to tell his new neighbor to please keep it down. Only when Luna answers the door he is completely taken with her and starts figuring out how to get this quirky girl to call in love with him. This is a wonderful story and I highly recommend it!
