She dares to be different and break the rules.
She is courageous, wise, kind and compassionate.
She is a fighter and doesn’t give up on herself easily.
She leads a rebellion against ignorance.
She has a burning desire to live an extraordinary life.
"She considered it a crime against her own soul to kill it and force it to be put in a cage. A free spirit… a spirit free."
This is second book that I picked up from the author. I had liked the previous one and had hopes from this one. Rakhi Kapoor never disappoint. Her writing style has a poetic flow and melody which pulls the reader deep into her stories.
This is a collection of 19 short stories all different in their own way but all same in being morally strong and altruistic.
This one wasn't an easy read, not for being dull but for being triggering & relating. I have witnessed many such cases myself, for being a doctor and also a good listener.
Women everywhere have to go through gender discrimination, harassment, sexual abuse, lack of education, domestic violence, gender pay gap and much more but I think most important would be mental abuse.
In India to be specific, women are reminded how they are dependant on their husbands for support. How they ought to listen to their in laws and husband, we have grown up listening to it, ain't we? Times are changing but still there's so much still to change.
Will you consider yourself a rebel? I do, I wish I could do more and better, I'm doing my part. I will definitely do better in future.
You don't have to rally against abusers, you just have to stand up if you see something wrong going on with you or in front of you.
One thing that I'm sure about from my experience is abusers are cowards, once you stand up to them, they will think twice before abusing again.
Rebelina is a collection of 19 stories focusing the women who changed the world. Each story is written in an unique style, offering something new. They reflected the strength of the rebels who were vilified and mocked for their truth and outspoken personality. Here, you'll find stories that will astronish and catch you by surprise, the ones that will motivate you, helping you see the world with a renewed sense of gratitude, unity and equality.
Life doesn't always means pleasant dreams at times it shows the ugly pretences and travesties but never lose sight of your courage. It can make believe in yourself and sieve the reality faster than anything. When life knocks you down with the worry, stress and uncertainty of your capabilities then books like Rebelina always comes to rescue. I was looking for a book which would motivate me, making me look beyond the common complications of life and Rakhi Kapoor's lastest release landed at just the right time. Her writing style ensures the extraordinary of captivating readers in an amazing manner. And I think readers who have read her other works will agree with me on the fact that she knows how to calm a stormy mind.
With her lucid writing style and unique way of telling each story from this book, the author has definitely delighted my reading appetite. I was expecting some fictionalized stories about rebel who dare to question the decree, who weren't afraid of calling spade a spade however I was immensely surprised with the format which made Rebelina one of the memorable read of 2020.
Changing the world is not a easy task, years of harbouring orthodox mindsets, cruelties in the name of age old traditions and many more, it is simple to alter these. But to have the ability to see the right from wrong and standing up for the same, the very idea is what initiate the process. It is true that time will be a judge to everything that we do, so instead of keeping quiet, roar it out loud that we shall not silenced when it comes to injustice, discriminations and abuse of any sorts.
"If it’s my waist size that will determine my husband’s love for me, based only on a few numbers, I don’t want to worry myself too much over such numbers. I will divorce my husband and get on with my life and continue to do what I am meant to do and pursue my purpose in life." ✨ Women go through different phases in her life from being a daughter to sister to wife to mother and these each phase come with new challenges which require precise solution and smallest mistake makes life miserable. Here Author depicted everything through which women goes in very unique ways. ✨ This book has 19 powerful, unique stories of every woman who stand-up for herself, who raise her voice to the unfair things that happen to her. This book will motivate you, help you to go through the difficult situations, change your perspective of dealing the situation we might face everyday life, make you feel that it's ok to be different than others. ✨ The best part of the book is the writing pattern I just loved it. Each chapter starts with a poem and end with a paragraph of a beautiful message. Yes, there are loose ends like some stories doesn't have the complete end and satisfying end. There are some mistakes in naming. But overall the book is very nice and smooth.

Ratings 4.6/5
14 stories of about 22 different kinds of women are woven beautifully into this book, all of whom teach us something important, and leave behind so many after thoughts as well as life lessons for the reader.
What I liked about the book : —> Each story represents and portrays a completely different protagonist and type of woman, and sometimes more than one woman. —> Each story begins with a little poem and ends with a small passage around what was the essence of that particular story (kind of like ‘Moral of the story’ types) —> The way it includes and talks about women of different ages and in different roles (daughter, friend, mother, grandmother, wife, girlfriend, etc) —> The end chapter which explains the meaning of Rebelina. —> The characteristic traits of the women protagonists have a relatability factor, which every female reader will be able to immediately connect with (either with herself or with someone she knows) —> My favourite stories were ‘The Little Rebel’ and ‘Raising a mom’ as they represent a school going girl who is wise beyond her years, and an elderly woman who is different from the people her age and even then is exemplary for the kids in the family. —> The summary of the Mahabharata and the way it tackles the character of Draupadi in ‘The Making of the Fist’
What I did not like about the book: —> Some stories end too soon, without a proper closure or leaving loose ends. —> It tends to become a little preachy with its justifications.
Quotable quotes: —> Every revolution starts with one individual who decides to rebel against the norms set by society. —> She considered it a crime against her own soul to kill it and force it to be put in a cage. A free spirit… a spirit free. —> Any instruction with a stern “don’t do this” seemed like “definitely go ahead and do it.” “Stay put and be quiet” meant throw a fit and make a lot of noise. —> Everybody looks at the marks on a scorecard and appreciates children who listen, follow the rules and blend in. —> It’s so tough to be free in this world where society teaches you from childhood to say appropriate things relevant to a situation with a purpose. It confines us to stick to the norms of society to please everybody else. —> Don’t hush the roar within her, for she is meant to be a lioness… raise a great girl child with great care. —> She drew a line between how much she gave and what she deserved back. Her greys told a tale of a beautiful woman who lived her life with wisdom, love, poise and grit. —> I am the knight in shining armour that came galloping to rescue myself, undoubtedly. —> A strong and courageous man is not someone who beats his unarmed wife. He doesn’t subject his daughter to such trauma. —> In your ability to be a good husband and a loving father lies the proof of your manliness. —> If you don’t stand up for yourself, then no one will. —> You don’t have to resort to living with what fate has in store with you. You can always change your destiny by making some conscious choices in life and acting accordingly. —> If I don’t stand up for myself, then no one will. —> Everybody in our lives comes with a purpose to help us evolve and grow. Their interactions can be that of love or unpleasantness. —> Each one comes with an agenda according to our karmic score and the past equations between each other through a lifetime. —> The departed souls from the earth leave us physically; the departed souls from the hearths of our heart live on endlessly. —> We need to bid each one goodbye with love, be grateful for their influence and contribution to our journey, cherish every moment, every memory that was created in time and wish them love and find our peace. —> The sun always rises after it sets. New beginnings emerge after the old retires. —> I can’t help it if I have been lucky and blessed with everything in life. Many others don’t have everything that I have and that is not my fault, is it? —> Whether the kind of destiny that you have leads you to a direction of growth and prosperity will be decided by you. —> She realized that only she could help herself. —> Break up, break down, but build yourself up again. —> People who would not judge her for how much she had fallen but were willing to appreciate her for how much she was trying to stay afloat. —> It was not about how much she weighed; it was about how strong she became. How fit she remained. She became disciplined with her food habits and focused on eating healthy. She started sitting in silence, staring at the empty space in front of her, briefly drifting into sleep and finally getting into meditation. —> You can’t buy love and happiness with money. Luxuries and pleasures can be bought in life but not love.
Book Title: Rebelina: A walk into the lives of women Author: Rakhi Kapoor Format: Kindle
My Thoughts: As the title suggests, ' Rebelina ' is a book about rebels! The word rebel in a female context is often misinterpreted. A rebelina can be anyone who demands her existence. Author Rakhi Kapoor has presented her readers with such ' Rebalina(s) ' who can be our mothers, sisters, or the women next door or we - ourselves!
What to expect from the story? Expect a book of fourteen short stories that are incredibly captivating. Expect a book to sit and think. Expect a book that has the power to rekindle the lost confidence. Expect a book that breaks the stereotyped minds the women have developed over time and bring out a new person.
Who can read? This book is in a universal language with no apparent avoidable vocabulary. It can be read by readers of any age who are well aware of women in their houses and the drama that is always found in the houses.
How good are the characters? Every character in the list of the stories, be it the protagonists or the central characters or the supporting characters, each has its own scope and space. The intent of the author to frame a particular character is done well. Each character at someplace feels relatable because we Indian women are subjected to all those framed mindsets. I suggest the book to be read to understand the power of the characters that the author created in the stories.
How good is the narration? Ah! This is the real strength in the book. Each story in the book has engaging narration, introspecting sequences and inspiring narratives. In the story ' The Little Rebel ' every line in the story is extremely sinkable into the reader's mind. Any statements are strong and are to be remembered and hence highlighted some them while reading. This particular story pokes the innermost feeling of a woman who subdued her self for various reasons.
How good are the language and grammar? Colloquial language with adequate vocabulary is used in the book. I found no grammatical errors, and hence the flow in reading was never interrupted.
How good is the author's writing style? This is my second book form Author Rakhi Kapoor, and I must say she is one of the able writers and storytellers of this generation. Realistic writing and thoughtful narratives of stories that make a reader think, check if it is happening in the nearby and then get engrossed in the book is an appreciable storytelling format and it is found in this book. This is my exact feeling when I read the book. The stories like Raising a Mom and The Proposal have had a huge impact on me. I even asked my mother and sister to read the book.
How entertaining is the book? This book has those stories of women that have dealt with lots of disparities, inequalities, abuse(s), stress, pressures, denials and soul-shaking experiences. Rather than using the word entertaining, I would like to rephrase it as endearing is the book. This book, in every sense, is endearing.
Tender is her love, Soothing is her touch , Calming is her voice , Healing comes with her prayers, Passion flows in her embrace, But beware don't ever unearth a women's anger - - You will see a side of her you never wished you had .
Who is rebellina ..? Rebellina is within all of us , within all the women out there who knows how to put her thoughts across and take stand for herself. Every women who acts according to her free will to lead a happy and healthier life is rebellina. She speaks when she need to be spoken. She is a fighter within all of us. She could be a mother , daughter , wife. she could be a women in love. She revolts when she is opressed.
Here Author Rakhi brings 14 women centred stories who faced various challenges in life like body shaming , emotional issues , sexual harassment , domestic violence and what not ? But she fights back against everything to take stand for herself. These are the stories of ordinary women like you and me.
I genuinely loved these stories. The language is lucid. Each characters are inspiring and every story has a lesson. These are the stories that one can relate to. I highly recommend this book to every women.
Rebelina is a book containing 19 impactful stories on women life. This book has addressed diverse issues that women face in day to day life. It has widely covered stories on boday shaming, pragnancy, heartbreak, strong friendship bond, spirit of a girl who is protecting vulnerable girls, raising voice mundane things that girls are supposed to do and many more.
Author wants to covey the message that whether it is child or it is aged women, every girl has rebelina within her. All you need to do is raise your voice against patriarchy and stand for your self. Because if you will not then male dominated world will not give enough importance to women and her ambitions.
Every story is written very beautifully and boldly. I really loved paragraphs written at end of each story. I salute to mindset of author. I am really inspired from this book.
However sometimes I felt stories were stretched too long unnecessarily. There were few ereors regarding using right name. But overall I would recommend this book to everyone who believes in equality without any gender discrimination.
Rebelina -A Walk into the lives of women by Rakhi Kapoor is a collection of 19 short stories which talks about strong and rebel women who had gone through rough phases in her life and had raised again with sheer determination, and outshined in their fields of study and at every phase of life. Today, the picture has changed to some extent regarding women as they are given equal rights and jobs opportunities but still they go through discrimination, had to face domestic violence and had to fights for their rights. Each story comes with beautiful teaching and has a moral at its end. Each story is unique, interesting, short and crisp. The uniqueness in these stories made them engaging and all the plots are crafted out very well. Each story begins with a short and meaningful poem and ends with an eye-opening moral. The author had covered stories of women from every phase, like about a little girl, mother, two best friends and a few more. The last story is based on the title of the book and that was a really interesting story of all stories from the book. Some of the favourite stories are The Little Rebel, Ma and Shine your light. It is a must read book and would recommend
This is 6th book, which I've read, from her books. God knows how she manage to write in an amazing way.
This book is dedicated to woman, who dare to live her life, on her own terms and conditions. It consists of different stories, different emotions, different lessons! Stories are contemporary fictional, but feelings & lessons are real.
Life is not really smooth, whether a girl is: Rich or Poor, Shy or not shy, Fit or fat, Married or unmarried. They are similarly like you, who are considered as weak by people. Still, who refuse to give up so soon, build themselves again. This book is dedicated to every girl or woman, who is strong enough to fight for herself.
What I like : Writing style, especially the simple language, important messages, blended with actual feelings, way of story telling & most importantly reality.

R E V I E W "Break up, break down, but build yourself up again!"
Rebelina - A walk into the lives of women is a blend of beautiful short stories which I found were so relatable and remarkable to the society in which we live. She may be a small girl child, young adult in her twenties, mothers or your grandmothers. Every women in herself has a Rebelina.
The stories and characters are so well developed that you won't keep aside the book until the story finishes. The author clearly describes the meaning of Rebelina in the last part of the book and with respect to all the stories in the book.
I found it an inspiring as well as an insightful read🌸
We live in a society enclosed by patriarchal boundaries."Rebelina" is an eye-opening contemporary fiction comprising 19 short stories that throws light upon the patriarchal norms of the society. Each story is based on the harsh realities a women faces during different spheres of her life. The various characters of the story depicts women of our society who became or were made to be the victim of sexual abuse, bodyshaming, objectification, domestic violence and discrimination. The last section of the book then summaries every story via a theoretical reflection by approaching the characters ,thier life situations and their rebellion The book is overall about the unheard voice of women who once determined can conquer/ overcome anything no matter what :) . The stories are very well constructed. The writing style is both simple and crisp ; thus making it a page -turner.The poetic approach to the theme via a few lines in the introductory part and the ending of the stories are commentable.Above all the interesting theme of "Rebelina" the hidden rebellious nature in every women that arises with self-acceptance when her self-esteem is questioned is what that intrigued me the most. . ~Aashina // ash__scribbles_
Women are going places in modern times. You cannot dictate their lives anymore as they know what's good for them and what's not. Even so women go through variety of hard times but there are some rebels who just get up again and again.
Rebelina by Rakhi Kapoor is a collection of 19 women centric short stories. All the stories are unique which focuse on women who stepped outside the societal definition of how a woman should be.
Every character in each story is going through different phases of life with diverse experiences. Look for the morals reflecting the life of a woman.
Although the stories are keenly crafted, I was not hooked to them. The stories are in itself complete but it failed to move me. However, I would say that I loved the characterisation as all the characters have motives. The stories are to the point, some even touched my heart.
All in all, the book is worth reading atleast once.
Rebelina : A walk into the lives of women is a n anthology created by Ms. Rakhi kapoor. This is an another amazing & unique book written by her. This book consists of 19 stories, based on women life, which may be fictional or real; but all these stories are related to the each human beings. We all have seen almost all the women characters around us in our life. So, the imagery is really familiar, emotional and relatable. A women who is a powerful ultrabeing deserves a lot, but still they are suffering. They are the ones who take the pain to deliver us on this planet; they are helping us in all forms we could thought; altogether, they do everything that they can but they neither demand to get paid nor they got any attention. in another aspect, their behaviour, their work do not get a good consideration. Like in many chapters, the different women with different behaviour and story gives a different moral. There are some girls who stands for weak, who sits with the needy, who cries with the grieving but owing to their straightforward nature, they don't get liked by most of the people and people condemn their behaviour ; A women is an absorbent of all the grievances of her family. She took all the fears of her family; The women who have grey hairs doesn't have just passed her days, she has drawn a grey line between how much she gave and what she deserved back and also her age tells a beautiful tale that she'd lived her life with wisdom, love, poise and grit; There are many women who got abused around us. Some people neglects it and some does, though there are some who raise the voice for them. but what this story tells is that the 'girl' should raise her voice to send her message to the abuser, loudly and clearly. In life, most of people have to suffer with break up. but they should understand, especially girls, that not all losses in life happens to death. though many times a person loses their beloved ones and losing such relations are traumatizing. but we shouldn't just break down but to lift ourselves up. So, a women is really a strong being who have her own grievances and crisis of her life. most of the people doesn't understand their sacrifice or behaviour. they try to change them by their archaic sight of society. So, we all should try to understand them, encourage them and let them being themselves instead of putting our weights of society and archaic customs on them. Besides, this book also gives the inspiration to boys too. I think that along with all women, this book has a good inspiring trait for all humans. We all made different hence life is beautiful. don't spoil life of ours and others. Let's appreciate the effort of God for making us exclusive & unique. let us learn to love and respect 'ourselves' and all who are unique in their own way. we all are different but should be treated equally good. This book of Ms. Rakhi kapoor is again a very unique creation and 'again' she has put her creativity and talent in her book. She is an awesome writer and really influencing the readers. Overall, this book is tremendous & remarkable.
"She was never willing to please anyone or try too hard and fit in. She considered it a crime against her own soul to kill it and force it to be put in a cage."
That's what we do, isn't it? It is always expected of us girls to be like a wet piece of clay, ready to be shaped as the people we are surrounded with. Re-form, change and basically not be yourself.
Rebelina is a collection of 18 short stories with women, children, who go through the things most of our society considers common for females but they rebel and fight in their own way.
I had to stop for awhile before continuing to read some of the stories in this book. Not because they were bad but because they were painfully true and triggering.
Because woman and children go through this everyday somewhere around the world there is a woman who suffers abuse, not all of them stand up themselves and a story called "the example" shed some light on that.
"Break up, break down, but build yourself up again.”
Not every women speaks her mind when she's told that her husband won't be faithful to her because of her weight. Not every girl stops bullying even if everyone else thinks bad of her. Not every girl understands that taking advice and help from the people who mean us no harm does not make us weak.
There were many such stories that I found inspiring and felt a connection with. But I couldn't relate to a few of them and couldn't understand how they were "rebellious" some of the stories on the other hand felt a little insensitive and rushed.
"I was raped in the back seat of my own car, Ananth. Luckily, the guy ran away, leaving me unharmed."
Although it was trying to explain how the main character didn't want to breakdown because of something that wasn't her fault. The choice of words really bugged me. Reporting such crimes and being vocal is great but talking about it right after it happened over a cup of tea with no trauma and emotions did not feel right to me. I'd have loved to see a character taking care of things while acknowledging the trauma.

Every women has to face alot in her day to day life... Women have been fighting for their equality, for their rights, and seeking justice for sexual harassment, assaults, child marriages, domestic violence, marital rape (and the list is on going) from a very long time. A rebel is a women who is continuously raising her voice for her betterment, and for her secure life.
This book is about all those women who are trying to bring a change in the society on her own level. I think every can related to this book at some or the other point. It is a collection of 14 different stories centering around women who leads and own the world. Every story is there to offer you something new. Life doesn't always comes handy, and it doesn't always a bed full of roses.. We have to fight for the things we want. The stories talk about how women have to go thorough all the narrow and dark paths all by herself and how she always comes out of it stronger to rise and shine. We live in a society where women are just meant to take care of their men and their children..they are not supposed to have dreams and to live those dreams.. Where talking about periods is still a taboo and period pains are considered just as an excuse, But because of some courageous women or Rebelina, it has become easy for every other women to live, to have dreams, and to lead a peaceful and courageous life. "Rebelina: A Walk Into The Lives of Women" is an another powerful collection of short stories by Rakhi Kapoor focusing mainly on women and their lives behind the walls of society. Many authors talk about Women's Right and Feminism, but honestly very few take into consideration all different lives of women lived by them in different corners of the world, playing their own respective roles. Rakhi Kapoor in this book not only represents about high profile successful women's but she also tells stories about daily difficulties, ups and downs, taunts faced by every single woman in this world. Her stories are relatable and motivating and that's what I have always loved about Rakhi Kapoor's writing. And also the poems that were in this book in every story was like an icing on the cake. . Sometimes I feel it's quite hard to be a woman. You have to pass the layers of eyes browsing you from top to bottom, judging you whether you are a pure girl or not, is humiliating. Not that boys are free from them, but accept it or not there is an unsaid rule among the mindset of the people that it's 'ok as they are boys', 'it's ok to have flings', 'late night parties are ok' and the list goes on. I wish for a day when people won't discipline a woman if she laughs loudly and don't laugh at a boy if he weeps loudly. May be there will be such a day and Rakhi Kapoor's poems really have that positive attitude, challenging the norms of the society through her free verse poems. . The language of this book is lucid and the cover of this book adds more glimmer to it. I recommend this book to all the people out there. I hope you guys start the coming year with the positive vibes from this book and raise your independent voice for empowerment.

📍 The women in the stories make their mark in their own way, symbolizing a revolution against a cause, no matter how big or small.
📍 This book is dedicated to every woman who stands up for herself.
📍 Rebelina is a combination of 19 stories of the ones who changed the world with their inner power and strength. Every story is written in a very different style, offering something new. Reading Rebelina, you will understand that life is never a bed of roses. It shows the terrible misrepresentations and crimes but will still give you courage and strength. I always wanted to read stories of women and strong womanhood. And Rakhi Kapoor's Rebelina was one such book I got to read. All the stories were great and delivers a strong message. 📍 Few things that disappointed me were sentence construction and the style of writing. The style could have been improvised a bit more that would grab more of my attention and I could finish reading it in one go. Apart from that, Rebelina is surely a book of strength and every woman should atleast give it a read.
#QOTD- What’s your current favorite read? Name- Rebelina Author- Rakhi Kapoor Length-256 pages (ebook) Rate- 4/5 Cover-4.1/5 Rebelina is a compilation of 19 short stories of impactful women who changed the world in spite of facing various social taboos. Every story is unique and discusses about topics like body shaming heartbreak, strong friendship bond, raising voice against the wrong, etc Who is a rebel? Someone who rises against the ill-thoughts or malpractices of the society. Someone who vehemently protests against the evil even when all fears to do so. This book mentions the unheard stories of such woman who were rebels. Not just rebels, this book is a great example of women empowerment. Women Empowerment means power in the hands of women. It signifies that women should be given equal opportunity in every field, irrespective of any discrimination. History says that women were ill-treated. The Sati Pratha in the ancient time to the girl child abortion in the present scenario, women continue facing such violence. Not only this, heinous crimes against women such as rape, acid attack, dowry system, honour killing, domestic violence, etc., are still happening in India. Women are taken for granted by men as they are considered their property. Even at the workplace, women are discriminated. They are paid less for the same work as compared to their male counterparts. This should be stopped soon. What I like most about the book is the beautiful description of the author and the strong message of empowerment she conveys through them. Honestly, I have only read two books by her and I am already a fan. Hoping to read more from her. Sreejita:')
Rebelina is a collection of 19 short stories about different rebels who fights against all the odds and transcends being a Wo(w)man.
This is the 2nd book of Rakhi Kapoor's I am with and had a good time reading it.The characters made are simple yet striking, imparting a stereotype breaking effect. The stories does not get boring(for me),was entertaining with a pinch of thrill in few. From the girl Krishi, who is not afraid to speak out her heart to the half-teen half-adult Granny who wear westerns and had tattoo and peircings are things we seldom hear or read anywhere, which is why the book wins to leave a mark. One of my fav story is of Naina's, a girl being raped who files complaint to the police and narrates the ordeal to her fiance without any self pity which was really beautiful and is exactly the kind of attitude our society and each one of us should and must inculcate in our minds, and also the way her finacee reacts to everything...cannot be more perfect.
"Her body may be violated, but her spirit remains invincible and unbreakable."
Rakhi's construction of each story is basic which makes us feel connected to the stories, as u dive more into it you will feel its my story or yours ,the story of each one of us.We can easily find ourselves in those characters. Rebelina may not have a tough language or complicated stories but it will make you feel good and most importantly serves the purpose of enlightening our minds. To conclude, the world would be a better place only if we let our Rebelinas out from within. I am definitely not a fan of short stories but loved this. This book is definitely a recommended one by me to everyone.
About the book: 🍁The author basically talks about women and women empowerment. Each of the 19 stories illustrated here speaks volumes about the women and her struggles to live life on her terms and create a distinctive identity for herself. 🍁Each character portrayed here represents a different shade of a female. Few characters I really loved are Ronin’s mother who is perfect example to show that age is just a number. The friendship between Shruthi and Ruhi is the one all of us long for. Antara’s character who walks off her marriage on her wedding day when she discovers that the marriage is more of a compromise from her end rather than both. 🍁The author highlights different challenges faced by the women and proves a strong point that 🍁it’s okay for a girl to be boisterous and loud, it’s okay to scream “enough” when her patience is tested. It’s okay to protest against stereotyping. 🍁The need of the hour is to raise a voice against women abuse, embrace your own-self and feel comfortable in your skin. 🍁She also emphasises that age should not be a barrier to enjoy and live life on your terms. 🍁There are quite a lot of learnings from this book. I would suggest you read the book rather than me revealing it all.
Review 🍁The author has done a tremendous job in describing all the women. Loved the writing style where she begins with a poem and gives a beautiful enclosure to each story. Although few stories feels like they have unfinished ends but all in all good motivational book for women.
Book name :- Rebelina : A walk into the lives of woman Book author :- @author_rakhikapoor Book language:- English Book print strength :- 258 pages
:- we all have our own right and some of them are so basic that we can't even live without it or life is meaningless without them .
And if our rights get snatched or at the verge of it ...we start feeling suffocation of having nothing in our hand.
And specially it applies for women who all are living after sacrificing or seeing their rights being snatched since ages.
This book by rakhi kapoor ma'am is an absolute mirror for the rights a woman wants or better say the rights that must be of hers are being snatched by this male ego dominating society but still they are fighting for it get themselves at the equal stage as of men.
Rebelina - A Walk Into The Lives Of Women is a perfect eye opening book including unique collections of 19 short stories. Every women facing various problems in everyday life. India is a country where women are given the status of a goddess. However, the problems they have to face just show the opposite of this concept.
The stories consist of insecurity, rape, weight, and so on. Actually, they all are very common in our society and ecumenic as well! Rebelina itself a fight against corruption. This book enclosed the brutal truth of our society and some awful mentalities.
A book to read to understand the women and their meaningful rights as they are not demanding but they deserve what all these rights are for 😊
Cover of the book is good and title is well established .
"Your pair of feet will only know where your shoes hurt you; Only your tired and weary legs will know the pain and pleasure of your journey." - Rebelina by Rakhi Kapoor.
👩🦰 Once in a while you come across a book which you realise that you can pick it up and start reading from wherever you want. This is one such book. A collection of 19 powerful stories weaved in a single book called "Rebelina". 🧕A Woman is an epitome of love, care, empathy courage, beauty, wisdom and what not, is still deprived of some basic things like respect and safety in our society since centuries and it still persists. 👩🎓Author very correctly quotes "If women were burnt in the name of witchcraft in the west, young women were burnt in the name of sati in the east" and though we have come a long way still there are miles to go when a father can feel safe when his daughter is out working late or traveling to a new city. 👩🔬These 19 stories of different women from different corners of the world with different dreams, ambitions, personalities and struggle are written beautifully to become one overwhelming experience for readers. 👩⚕️ Each and every character in this book is so well built that you feel an instant connection, from young and free spirited Kriti to a courageous Panchali, everyone is special. My favourite was Sheeba and Angira. I could relate to them so well. 👩🔧 The writing is very simple, lucid yet elegant and to the point. Various issues faced by a woman are addressed with a fresh perspective in this book.
🌸 Review - A collection of 19 short stories Rebelina ,is an amazing gift to every woman . Each and every story is the journey into women’s life reflecting the various aspects of women. A woman is a source of energy inspiring all of us . Life is not always about the bed of roses sometimes it is a struggle but a woman never loses courage . She follows the rules and norms of the society quietly but people consider this as her weakness and try to use her . That is when she turns into a rebel and shows her strength . She is the one who can achieve anything just with her will power and is equally strong as men when it comes to fight the battle of life. Power of woman can never be underestimated. The stories are real imprint of society where a woman is merely considered as a beautiful and delicate doll. She is just expected to abide by the rules set for her without questioning. Each story ends with a moral which is a real eye opener for us . The author has shown courage in portraying the women as rebellious and independent warrior who are always at the front . She has handled a very sensitive topic with conviction. The language and the perception of the book deserves an applaud. Overall its about the strength, courage and will power of a woman.
A must read for people who believe in the inner beauty of women.
I loved the cover of the book very much, however, the content inside is not so strong as one might expect it to be. I enjoyed reading it, would reread it later again. It's power packed and would be a go to book for motivation.
Rebelina, by Rakhi Kapoor, a collection of short stories, about different women, who dared to be different and flourished in their own ways, in the world. These are stories of women that we can look up to in our own lives. Such simple they ought to appear, but they're extraordinary in all the sense. It is subtly expressed, each of the minute details, that hold so much importance, and mean so much, atleast to one if not for many. Life isn't always a pleasurable. But to keep oneself calm on a roller coaster ride is one thing while shouting out the fear while at it is much more bravery. Such are the women in these short stories. Each of the lady is penned in a lucid style, that I believe is the style of the author. Life will definitely knock us down with plenty of remorseful atrocities, but would a woman kneel down, and never rise up? Just stay defeated and never rebel? That's not happening anymore. These stories fill one with so much power, the power to think, feel and express; rebel, not so rebelliously, but why not? This book was just perfect for me to spend my evenings with. The beauty of the book is such that it can be read and reread several times because I am sure it gives a new relief everytime.
Book: Rebelina- A Walk Into The Lives Of Women Author: Rakhi Kapoor Book Length: 258 pages Genre: Contemporary Fiction Anthology . . I'd love to start with the verse:-
She was different from the rest. She naturally stood apart from the crowd. She couldn’t let her voice be silenced; She had to have her thoughts heard aloud. She had a mind of her own, She had a heart of gold, She was not perfect, yet She was flawless.
This book is for all the women out there who's living her life in some or other consequences. I totally agree with the saying that being woman isn't easy. (Not feminising) I've seen many girl child, teenage, woman, mother, grandmother performing their responsibilities brilliantly in every aspects of life. This book is one to empower the woman and support each other for their efforts. The verses and statements will leave you mesmerized with its words!!

🌻Why should we destroy what we have within us to be someone else and to do something else and live a life that we know is not meant for us? . This book is a collection of fourteen powerful stories in which woman stands up for wrong and fight for their rights. Each story is beautifully presented with poems and proses. The women in the stories make their mark in their way, symbolizing a revolution against a cause, no matter how big or small. . Some of the stories I loved from the collection are- 👉The little Rebel- The story about a young rebellious girl who was not ready to give up on her wants and needs just to fit into the norms of society. 👉The Example- It is a story of standing up against the wrong. The story revolves around Tara and her mom who have faced violence and sexual harassment and how they fought with it. 👉Break up and put yourself together- It is a beautiful story of Angira and how she copes up with break up and builds everything up again. 👉The measure of life- This is the story about how society feeds on our insecurities and why we should love our scars, our bodies and just ourselves. There are many more such stories in the book which talks about what a rebel a woman is. I have read many works by this author but this book is no doubt the best. The language used is simple and easily understandable. The stories are inspiring and reflect the true mirror of society. Overall, an amazing read and highly recommended.
