About the author

Sidney Sheldon (1917-2007) was an American writer who won awards in three careers—a Broadway playwright, a Hollywood TV and movie screenwriter, and a best-selling novelist.

His TV works spanned a twenty-year period during which he created I Dream of Jeannie (1965-70), Hart to Hart (1979-84), and The Patty Duke Show (1963-66), but it was not until after he turned 50 and began writing best-selling novels such as Master of the Game (1982), The Other Side of Midnight (1973) and Rage of Angels (1980) that he became most famous.

I still remember when I took up the first part - If tomorrow comes. It was like years, years ago. In just a few pages I fell for Tracy Witney series. I have had this thing on my mind, I got to get through this series; I want to read it all and know what's in-stored for the journey ahead. However, my mind shifted through different novels and I lost touch with it. Finally, after someone suggested me Tracy Witney series recently it hit me, damn! I got to read it all this time. No matter how. One of the weekends last month, I went about scrolling the bookstore - Crossword got hold of this sequel and fell for the series yet again. Somehow, there is this one feeling I can't deny. The thrill that I felt in the first part (If Tomorrow Comes) was missing in this one. Some of the factors that didn't work for me: the level of heists that were brought down in the first part, lost in this one. Emotional turn of events didn't justify with If tomorrow comes and more of all, the plot majorly missed the challenging wit of con artists. It rather wound around a failed love story to be precise that was dragged till the end. If the story would have been continued minus the family angle and lead with a more interesting turn of events, I would have loved it. The family angle was brought in way too soon. For the witty and beautiful Tracy Whitney, the sequel didn't justify the character.

This a sequel written by Tilly Bagshawe to If Tomorrow Comes by Sidney Sheldon. The contrast in writing and perspective of Tilly and Sidney are awfully evident, which is why I somewhere lost the immense love that I had developed for ‘If Tomorrow Comes’ and the characters in it. The story line is not the worst, but it's more emotional than thrilling, which is why it makes a bad sequel to the book. The characters that Sidney built, have not lived upto their genius and expectations in the sequel, and I don't recommend reading this book no matter how hard you crave Tracy Whitney and Maximillian Pierpont's encounter with one another. I hope Tilly writes books independently, and not as sequels to Sidney's novels, because she has really brought down the glory of Sidney Sheldon's thrilling universe.

I read this because of my mother's forceful recommendations thinking it would be too stretched but the fact that I read it in two days makes my initial opinions a little hazy. The book revolves around a bunch of plots but the only reason why I stopped myself from giving it five stars is that during the end, the storyline becomes a little extreme or unrealistic but it does leave the reader with a bunch of open thoughts and questions. I totally admire a book which leaves the reader hanging with the choice of building the story themself after finishing the book.

This is my first Sidney Sheldon written by Tilly Bagshaw. The only reason I chose this one was because it was a sequel to 'If Tomorrow...'. I particularly had enjoyed the heists in the 1st one.
Things that did not work for me in the book:
1. Interesting plot, but miserably failed climax. There wasn't any battle of wits between the con artists
2. Less of heists unlike the 1st book, more of drama
