Renee is so relatable & touches on so many things all mothers feel/struggle with, but she gives you answers with biblical truth. My confidence in all things, especially being a mom, comes from Jesus’ love for me. Amazing prayers at the end of every chapter. I feel reenergized after reading this book!

A Confident Mom is pure GOLD!!!
I have been challenged, yet encouraged by this book. I love the "digging for gold" references. The author states, "What we look for is what we find". Renee challenges mothers to look for the "gold" in our childre ... to foster character in our children, to make them feel loved, approved, accepted, listened to, and understood. Renee offers practical advice grounded in scripture. Fantastic book, I highly recommend!

“Bad days don’t make you a bad Mom”

Can you relate? Your mind replays all of the mistakes that you have made as a mom, highlights the should-have’s and makes you feel like a failure. That you are not enough.

I can.

In A Confident Mom , Rene Swope shares her struggles. You are not alone and you are enough.

She also shares and gives you a focus on what really matters and what your children really need from you. This perspective can transform the way you see yourself and your parenting.

The book is full of stories, wisdom and practical tips to apply and help guide you , help you grow and to help you be a confident mom.

I wish had this resource when my children were smaller. This book is definitely worth your time to read. It just may save you from those negative “bad mom” thoughts.

A Confident Mom provides such great encouragement for the mom who is overwhelmed by life circumstances, who is facing feelings of anxiety, guilt, or exhaustion, and reminds us that God is near to us, and He will provide us with the grace, strength, and wisdom needed in this season. Renee teaches us how to move from survival mode in parenting to truly living and enjoying parenting. She provides great practical tips for moms to help affirm the gifts that God has instilled in their kids. This is something that every mom needs and can relate to. My heart was so encouraged by this book!

I love this book and the positive, easy-to-apply ideas for growing into the parent you want to be. The best part about this book is that it's not just for parents; it's guidelines on how to be better as a person and making your relationships with anyone more meaningful. The chapter on connection is needed by everyone today, especially after this period of time where we have been isolated for so long and have forgotten how to engage with life and each other. I recommend this book for anyone, whether they are a parent or not. Beautifully done.

If you get to the end of your day and realize you forgot to pray for your kids or give them a hug, this book is for you. We are not alone in our mom guilt. Renee vulnerably shares from her own failures as a parent to remind us we’re not alone. She offers wisdom from years of being in the Word and on her knees. This book is a call to kindness. A call to be kind to ourselves instead of living weighed down by guilt and perfectionism. As moms, we don't have to live condemned. We can live confident.

Renee Swope offers her wisdom through personal stories, relatable honesty, and practical tools that point us to the love of God, the Father, for guidance! The chapters are short and full of great take-aways and prayers. Towards the end of the book there are "24 Traits to Help You Notice and Nurture Character" which you can ponder and apply to your daily life. My favorite theme throughout the book is the importance of unconditional love for our children. This is truly a positive and helpful book that gives insight on how to connect with the hearts of our children. What a great book of encouragement for moms in all stages and seasons of life (both your own and your children's)!

One of my fave books ever that has been read more times than I can count in the past 10 years is “A Confident Heart” by my friend Renee Swope. So imagine my delight when she recently released “A Confident Mom”.

Written with busy moms in mind, each chapter is easy-to-read and digest (hello, carpool line) and ends with a prayer to help you share what’s on your heart when you don’t know what to say. Plus you’ll discover how to “mine for gold” to nurture character traits in your children (it never gets old no matter how old your children get) and in typical Renee fashion, promises to replace your doubts with God’s truth.

I love the honest and vulnerable stories Renee shares, so many hit home for me as a fellow special needs mom and mom of young adult men…I SO wish I had this book during the teen years. :)

Here are some of my fave words from Renee:

“Your child needs to know you believe in them when they are stuck in the mud of ‘I can’t’ and trapped by the muck of comparison”.

“God’s goal is restoration, not regret”.

“Your child needs clear boundaries, choices, consequences, and consistency to shape their hearts, not just their habits”.

“When your children are struggling with self-doubt or comparing themselves to someone else, pull out your Bible and read about one of the unqualified and imperfect people God chose to use to do important things for Him.”

“Your child needs a safe place to question their faith…I believe God is gracious and that He holds our children accountable for the level of understanding they have at their age.”

“Jesus, help me lay down the measuring stick of success versus failure and focus on simply being faithful.”

“While I was worrying, God was working.”

“God also showed me that I was overwhelmed because I was spending so much time taking care of my little girl that I wasn’t giving Him time to take care of me.”

I highly recommend A Confident Mom, it would be a great gift to yourself, other moms in your life and a perfect resource for your next book club.

Do you ever doubt how you're doing as a parent? Do you find yourself constantly busy, maybe snapping at your kids, and wondering how other parents seem to get it right? A Confident Mom will help you find the gold in your children, and help you redirect so that you are present with them now, not missing all the little things that make a child so special. I am part of the launch team and was blessed to be able to read the ARC. I cannot wait to share this book with everyone! Our children learn by our example; we need to set the best example we can, in Christ, and look for the good in every situation. We won't get everything right all the time, and that's ok, because your kids need to see how we handle the rough days, how to forgive and ask for forgiveness, and move forward with better reactions and responses the next time. Let your children know they are not bad people, but sometimes make bad decisions. Don't address them in anger - wait for a little bit, pray, calm down, and then talk about what happened. LISTEN to them, don't spend your time thinking about what you want to say while they are talking. Make a chart that you can reference that has scripture to show the right ways to handle situations. Renee has really put a lot of heart and prayer into sharing how finding the gold in her children changed not only her life, but theirs too. Together, she and her husband found creative ways to guide their children that was both fun and life-changing. This book will truly change how you view not only your children and yourself, but will also provide insight that you will take into other relationships in your life as well.

I found myself skimming this book but I honestly think that had I read this early in my motherhood journey or had younger children, I would highly benefited from it. If you are a new mom or have young kids at home (mine are teenagers), I would highly recommend you read this. If you are a seasoned mom, I feel like this book has a lot of information that you have probably already heard before. This book reminded me that "Bad days don't make you a bad Mom."

I took notes while reading this one, and will definitely look back on it in the future. I like the Renee took stories from her own family to get her points across. She isn't trying to just make you a better parent, but a better person to anyone no matter the relationship. She is very character-focused, which I think is the most important train in a person.

Helpful and Insightful

This book is so powerful and will help you find confidence as a mom. There are three sections in this book. The author starts off with some valuable truths that help you to speak and live truth with your child. The author then has numerous chapters on values that your child needs in his/ her heart and life. And then in the third section the author reminds you of your strengths and worth as a mom. Each chapter provides valuable insights, personal stories, and is wrapped up with a heartfelt prayer. I gleaned so much insight out of this book and highlighted so many lines that spoke to me. I believe it will be a blessing to all moms (and dads too) that read it!
