Or desire . . .

Karma wishes she could remember her last name. Or if she even had one. All she has in this confusing new world is a desperate duty to save the innocent. That means destroying the dark, dangerous, and desirable Benjamin Reese and everything he loves—an impossible task even before his touch arouses a passionate hunger she can’t afford. 5 Crazy for Benny Stars

Rebel's Karma was another amazing read by Rebecca Zanetti. The 13th book in the Dark Protector Series and the story line is still going strong. Things are heating up with the Seven and the Cyst and I can't wait to see what happens next. Benny has always been a favorite of mine and I knew I would love his book. I just didn't know how much I would end up loving Karma.

Karma was such a mystery going into this read. I knew from the last book that she had been mated to a Kurjan and she helped save a toddler in the last book, but other than that she was a blank page. Karma was amazing and the perfect mate for Benny. She was so brave and strong enduring for so long with the Kurjans yet never letting them kill her spirit. Benny was as fun and crazy as I thought he would be, but he had such a sweet side too. I fell so hard for Benny the way he tried to build up Karma, give her freedom, and a sense of self. Together they made such a great couple. They had a ton of chemistry, but the sweetness to their relationship was what really did it for me.

As we get closer to the end of the series,(I believe there is 3 more books) the plot is getting so intense. The Pax, Hope and Drake plot has me dying to know more. Hope like her mom Janie is torn between the two men(teens) in her life. When it came to Janie, Zane and Kalin I always wanted Zane to win Janie's heart. I liked Kalin and I was glad he redeemed himself in the end. The thing is this time around I am really liking Drake. He doesn't come off as crazy evil like most Kurjans. The chemistry between Drake and Hope is off the charts. there is still so much about Drake that we readers don't know and I can't wait to learn more. Pax is a cute guy and I wouldn't mind him ending up with Libby but I feel like he is not the one for Hope.

I loved all the parts with Dage, Emma, and Talen. I would love to get more time with the old gang in upcoming books. I also think it's time for the Seven to let others in on the secret. The whole Cyst army is creep af. The pressure is building with Ulric and the "Big Ritual" and I can't wait to see how it all unfolds. Although this book was action packed there was some really cute moments in it too. I loved the friendship between Benny and Mercy. The twins were really cute and Benny with the twins was swoon worthy. Quade, Garrett and the toothpaste had me laughing my butt off. God I love this whole world. Sam, Garrett, and hope's books are coming up and I really can't wait to get my hands on them. This series is an amazing series and I would recommend it to everyone. Start with book one Fated for the full world or Vampire's Faith for the new arc of the series. Personally I would suggest starting from book 1 because you don't want to miss out on all the yumminess that is Talen, Dage, and Jase!

Rebels Karma by Rebecca Zanetti
Dark Protectors book 17. Paranormal romance. Best read as part of the full Dark Protector series. Benny in particular can be found in the 1001 Dark Nights novellas (Teased, Tricked, Tangled, Vengeance, Vixen and Vampire). Those books do not need to be read before this book.

“I’m Benny. You can call me Benny, Ben, Benjamin, or butthead.”
Benny has been searching for Karma for three years. He’s known since the beginning that they are destined to be mated but he’s willing to let her be free to live her life however she wants. Karma is terrified when she is first brought to Realm headquarters. She’s been told about the Queen’s experiments and when she hears the men joking about being chased with a needle, she takes it literally. Karma is also brave and willing to do whatever is needed to return to the Kurjans and her adopted daughters, even if it means betraying these people being so nice to her.
Karma emerges from her cocoon in this story from beaten servant to empowered woman. It’s wonderful that Benny finally gets his happy connection.

This story also continues the connections between Hope, Pax and Drake (mid teens) as they grow older and closer to their key roles in the ultimate and final battle between the nations.
I’m looking forward to where the storyline goes in the next few books and in the meantime, loving these matings that make the couples so deliriously happy in each other’s arms.

I received a copy of this from NetGalley. I also purchased a copy of this to keep.

I'm still pretty new to the Dark Protectors series, only joining in the fun since Vampire's Faith, but I can say that this is a journey not to be missed. Zanetti knows how to write a paranormal romance that grips you by the throat, leaving you dangling with your feet off the ground, and I love it!! It's probably why I have all of these books in paperbacks on my shelves :)

I've been looking forward to Benny's book for what feels like forever. He's the funny one, the crazy one, the one who seems to be the most carefree. Rebel's Karma gave me the many dimensions of this character. I got to see his huge heart, his compassion, his vulnerabilities. If I didn't already love him, I would after reading this story.

I don't want to give anything away, but there were many moving parts to this instalment of the series...
⭐ There was a time when I believed that Hope and Drake were destined for each other. Who wouldn't dream of peace by uniting warring nations? But for the last two books, my dreams of the future have changed. Then again, the author has introduced a twist that changes things. Maybe Hope and her best friend, Paxton, are fated. What are Drake's true motives? What is Paxton up to with his uncle? And why is Hope so blindly believing?
⭐ I know that Sam is Logan's older brother and that he has a big part to play in the Seven ritual, but beyond that I realize I know nothing about him. Please tell me I'll be getting more of his story.
⭐ Although what is going on with Garrett seems minor, I'm sure it will play a big part in the future and my heart already hurts for him. I need to know what the fates have in store for him and when I will be getting his book!

Seriously, when is the next book coming out?

Rebecca Zanetti continues her Dark Protectors series with Rebel’s Karma, a steamy, high octane romantic paranormal suspense.

For the past three years, vampire-demon hybrid Benjamin Reese has been looking for the woman who provoked his mating mark to appear. The fact that she’s living with Kurjans, his sworn enemies, because centuries ago she was mated to one is not even the main problem, convincing her to leave with him once he gets to her so he can protect her was.

Karma needs to complete her mission in order to save the innocent. Even though she’s more of a servant than a spay for the Kurjans, it should have been easy to do except Benjamin not only demonstrate endless patience and care, his kisses are too tempting and dangerous.

If there was ever a happy go lucky vampire-demon hybrid it would be Benny Reese. He’s a member of the Seven so his deadly skills should never be underestimated, nor should his alpha male protectiveness.

To make him even better in the romance hero scale, I LOVED how he was continually building Karma up. The scene where he puts on a skirt to show her that she can fight and defend herself even in a skirt… ovary explosion!

Even though Karma and Benny were definitely not looking to get into a relationship, because let’s face it, none of these immortals really are, they two made a sweet and adorable couple.

Rebel’s Karma is exciting as things between the Seven and the Kurjans/Cyst are coming to a head faster than expect. I’ve enjoyed this series so much and I can’t wait to read about Garrett whose book is hopefully next, but the Pax, Hope, Drake subplot is killing me.

Rebel’s Karma is book #13 of the Dark Protectors series by author Rebecca Zanetti. It is an exciting standalone paranormal romance, told from various points of view with a happy ending. Genre: Paranormal Romance

Benny!!!! I have loved him since he was first introduced many books ago. I didn’t realize this author intended to give him his own story, although he’s definitely one of the most interesting and engaging characters of the series. As all heroes in this series, Benny is extremely protective of his family and friends and of the brotherhood of the Seven. But he’s even more so with Karma.

May be an image of outdoors

Karma has an unusual history when compared to the other women of the Seven or even the Realm. Her current situation is one that she’s lived with for centuries but after a brief encounter with Benny, years ago, the Kurjan have new plans for her and are using her children as the impetus to make her fulfill them. She’s sweet and gentle and loves romance books because of the strong heroines she finds within the pages. Watching her morph from who she has been trained to be into someone she wants to be was wonderful.

This is a fast read with a lot of action. We continue to get a few looks at Hope, Drake and Paxton and I have to admit that I’ve got definite opinions on which of the two I’m hoping she ends up with. Although, I do wonder if Ms. Zanetti isn’t deliberately playing with us. With the continued addition of the rest of the Seven as well as other favorite characters, this was such an entertaining read. So much so that I’m already clamoring for the next book!

Okay.... So I might have swore in my review of Fated (Book 1) that I would NOT skip ahead to Zane and Janie's (Book&). See my vow here: Fated Review.

And I did not break that vow....sort of..

I skipped right past book 7 and jumped to book 13!

I really wasn't going to. But then the ARC came up and seriously, YOU CAN NOT TURN DOWN A REBECCA ZANETTI ARC!!

And luckily this worked out because I loved this book and like usual in my crazy head, seeing all the couples happy and crazy together has me even more excited to go back and reading the other books.

Benny might be one of my new favorite heroes. He has all my favorite traits.

1. Alpha
2. Overprotective
3. Overpossessive

But he has more that most sadly don't have. HE IF FUCKING HILARIOUS, with a generous helping of crazy.
“Is there anybody here you want me to kill before we go?”

“Wouldn’t it be lovely to sparkle, Benjamin.”
“Covert Ops would be difficult if I sparkled, but I guess everyone deals with obstacles.”

This man did so many things to help Karma feel comfortable and get used to this new world she found herself in.

Karma was stuck doing something she really didn't want to do to save her adopted kids, in a world that seemed to be completely different than what she had been taught over the centuries.

This book seriously had me laughing and then thinking about how much sarcasm we use. Sarcasm is one of my best traits personally. My kids are constantly looking at me trying to figure out if I'm being serious or fucking with them.

I know that most of your have read every book in this series, but I know there are some people who love to start in the middle of a series because a book sounds so good and they don't have the patience to read 13 or 22 books before they get to it...

I can say having read the first book only, I wasn't too confused. There is a storyline that runs through the entire thing, but I didn't feel like I was missing anything. In this book all you have to know is that these immortals can send healing cells to injuries and can only die if they are decapitated (I believe - see you don't really need to know anything).

Other than craving certain couples previous books, I did not feel like starting here took away from the story for me. But I know that having read the whole series I would have loved this even more.

Anyways, back to the beginning of the series I go! I found the audios starting at book 8 on the library (#free)! Now I have to decide...... Do I read in order or cherry pick the couples I am craving.

Me neither, but I'm getting used to it!

Cheers friends!

Finally reading Benny's story and it did not disappoint. His interactions with Karma and how attentive he was to her situation was completely swoon worthy. Add in the adorable scenes with a certain pair of twins and I just about melted into a puddle on the floor.

I can't wait for the next couple of books in the series, Sam's and Garrett's. I hope it doesn't end there and we get the book Hope and her friends deserve.

I received an ARC for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

We're back with another installment of the Seven and this time we get crazy Benny's story!

I've been faithfully following this series since the Seven were first introduced and each one is unique in it's own way. Benny and Karma' story continues in the same pattern but with it's on twist.

In the last book, Benny touches a Kurjan woman and his mating mark appears. Fast forward three years later and Benny has tracked down the mystery woman. A once enhanced female, who was turned immortal centuries ago when she mated a Kurjan. An empath who speaks to spirits that can't pass over.

Karma is a unique heroine who already knows about the supernatural world and isn't a newbie like some of the other mates females. She's also been taught to distrust the the supernatural that make up the Realm.

This had the feel of a enemies to lovers vibe going for it except that Karma never is able to see Benny as the enemy and although she's lived with the Kurjan for years, she doesn't blindly follow them. She sees the good and the bad and retains her own thoughts and opinions.

Benny and Karma have to learn to trust each other and risk their hearts for a chance at a HEA but there is a few obstacles they have to overcome. An obsessive Kurjan male, a few ghosts and a looming battle of epic proportions, to name a few.

I've loved each couple in this series (even though I did feel a little let down about Grace and Adare story!) and it was easy to fall for Karma and Benny too. Karma and her dedication to the twins she adopts was admirable and I loved watching her let her guard down and let Benny in. At first it seemed these two might be mismatched but Karma needed Benny's teasing and outrageousness to teach her to laugh again.

Benny's devotion to her and later to the girls was heartwarming and gave me all the warm fuzzy feels. He was definitely the life of the party here :) He was wacky when he needed to break the ice and endearing and romantic when he was around Karma. There's something about a big tough guy like Benny going all warm and cuddly over his woman that gets me every time.

Overall, I loved the book and the MCs were great. I deducted one star because I don't like side stories that take away from the MCs's page time and this one (like a few of the previous books) kept taking you out of Benny and Karma's story to build on the adventures of the teenage Lock and her posse.

When Hope was a little kid, she was cute if a little weird with all her barely formed prophesies and half truths she blurted out but now she's a 15 year old girl and she's in a weird love triangle between Pax (her best friend) and Drake (the son/heir of the Kurjan's aka her mortal enemies). And yes, at first I wanted to root for her and her resolve to end the war between their two races, peacefully but this time around her stubbornness to see beyond her simple wishes to the fact that peace doesn't come cheap was a little frustrating.

Besides that, I'm definitely team Pax and I'll be pretty freakin pissed if he dies. His unrequited love for Hope and his loyalty to her was hard to read since she clearly didn’t give him a second thought, especially if Drake was anywhere near her. The fact that Drake seems to be a skeevy little manipulator also didn’t help.

Overall I liked this latest part of the Seven’s story but I want the adults to be the main focus. Hope definitely deserves her own story but not at the cost of the MCs I signed up to read about.

PS : to the publisher and Netgalley, thank you so much for the ARC =D

* This review is based on an NetGalley ARC provided in exchange for an honest, unbiased opinion. *

An excellent book that I was looking forward to (Benny has always been a favorite of mine =D) and which fulfilled all my expectations =D

For me, Rebecca Zanetti quickly became a "buy immediately no questions asked" author and I always look forward to each new release =D

What I particularly liked :
- the universe with the different races, their mythologies (I can't wait to know what it really is this story with the Seven since we have ten million versions !!) but also all the technological advances that fit perfectly with fantasy! I particularly enjoyed in this book having a glimpse of the Kurjans from within !
- the different plots that I loved !! The one around Karma of course but also all the innuendo with the very tense situation within the kingdom, the shenanigans of the Kurjans and of course all the intrigue around the famous ritual of the Seven =)
- characters !! Benny that we had already seen several times in the different books of the Seven but also with the Reese brothers and that I adored !! A little crazy but terribly endearing >< And of course Karma who was so courageous despite the trials, who made me laugh a lot with the discrepancy and the misunderstandings linked to her life among the Kurjans (the scene of the meeting with the queen was awesome !) and with its power that fascinated me !
- This end too cute <3

The questions / expectations I have now :
- I must admit that for the first time, I wanted a Kurjan to have his HEA (Vero !!) so I hope we will have one !!
- I didn't think I would ship them but I SO ship Paxton and Hope =D
- and I really want to have a book with Garett now >< I am very intrigued by his dreams !! And of course Sam =D

In short, for fans of urban fantasy who want well-constructed universes and endearing characters, I recommend the entire series =D

PS: to the publisher and Netgalley, thank you so much for the ARC = D

4.5 - "All of me and all of you…" Stars!

Thirteen books and however many novellas on I still love the Dark Protectors series. It is my #1 PNR series, and I don’t think that will ever change. Rebel’s Karma finally gives us Benny Reece’s story. As one of the seven, this is a vampire-demon hybrid that has more than a little going on at the moment, but a chance meeting years ago in a Kurjan stronghold bought Karma into his universe, it also bought out his the mating mark.

"You’re crazy…"

"…That has been said more than once."

Three years on and he is ready to make his move and make sure she is freed from the Kurjans although he is not sure that he can offer everything she deserves in regards to love and relationships. His chosen path leads to almost certain death, and he isn’t sure it’s fair to claim her and then expect her to live an immortal life potentially without him.

"It’s nice to trust somebody…"

Benny and the rest of the Realm clan are nothing like Karma expected. So-much-so that she starts to wonder if everything the Kurjans have told her over the decades is a lie. Problem is she’s got ties back with them that she cannot just ignore, and in order to get back to them she has to betray the very people she is starting to see are not the enemy.

"I’m done holding back… I’m not nice or easy or casual… I’m just me."

I think I have used every compliment I can about this series in all of my other reviews, my opening paragraph highlights just how much I enjoy these adventures, the author still manages to keep things fresh, interesting as well as fast-flowing, and the characters, past, present (and future) are what keep you reading, I think Talen popped up for a couple of paragraphs in this one and I still had that same stoopid grin on my face as I had way back when I read Fated. I feel a re-read coming on, its well past time to be honest. And it will keep me out of trouble while I wait for Immortal’s Honor to drop in December.

"You please me by just existing."

This is my favorite Rebecca Zanetti series, it's action packed, steamy, heartfelt goodness. Rebel's Karma is no exception, the heroine is different in a lot of ways, but fascinating and relatable. The hero is Benny, and if you've followed this series and the recent installments, you've been waiting for this book, it does not disanoint. Recommend!

Dark Protectors fans have waited over six years since being introduced to "crazy Uncle Benny" in the Reese brothers' trilogy (Teased, Tricked, Tangled). Now, Benjamin Reese, the eccentric, centuries old warrior and secret member of the Seven, has finally met his mate. The "R" family crest appeared on the vampire/demon hybrid's palm during a rescue mission three years prior to the start of this book, but the lovely blonde Kurjan soti, named Karma, refused to be liberated and chose to remain with Benny's enemies. Benny has been pursuing Karma ever since, and don't think the Kurjans haven't taken notice ...

Rebel's Karma is definitely one of my favourites of the new (second) DP series, and it's all because of Karma. Kurjan mates are called "sotis" and play a very subservient role in the deeply misogynistic Kurjan society. Karma's Kurjan mate died soon after she was captured over two hundred years ago, but the mating allergy has shielded her from sexual abuse. However, she has had to remain obedient and unobtrusive to survive the pervasive physical abuse that the Kurjans heap on each other, male or female. When Benny, or "Benjamin" as she likes to call him, catches up with her, there is a long learning process for both of them. Benny tries to rein in his temper, his spontaneity, and his craziness to protect his prim and proper lady. Karma gradually finds her boldness, her voice, and her spunk as Benny and his friends tear away at all the lies that the Kurjans have taught Karma to believe.
"Now we see the queen," Benny said. The small interior swam around Karma, and she tried not to cry. The Queen of the Realm? She was the most frightening female alive on the planet. She wasn't ready to die.

LOL! Oh, the Zanetti humour!

Karma's emergence was truly fun and beautiful to watch. I enjoyed it so much! She and Benjamin gradually come around to the realization that a shared future together was possible. While relationship and character development form the solid core of Rebel's Karma, Rebecca Zanetti continues to deliver some of the best written action sequences that I have ever read. Not to let good be good enough, she then introduces some really intriguing new characters. A Kurjan youth with a soft side (heaven help him!) and a pair of adorable twin toddlers. Add the continuing story of Hope, Pax, and Drake who are now fourteen, sixteen and sixteen, and you get a book that is a must read for all DP fans. This one has been worth the wait!

3,5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️✨

Thank you Netgalley and publisher for the e-arc, for an honest review.

Please take in mind it’s my opinion, and everyone is allowed to have one.

This book was honestly such a great book, I absolutely liked it. The story, and plot were great, it was such a well written story. Was hoping for more of the vampire stuff (LIKE CMON SHOW UR FANGS! BITE SOMEONE), even tho that didn’t happen it was still great. There was honestly enough drama/ action and romance going on.

The characters were great. I didn’t like Karma at first she was a bit confusing to me until half way through that’s when I understood her more and more. In the end I truly liked her. Benjamin was from beginning till the end such a good character, very fun and kind. I truly felt the chemistry between Karma and Benjamin, SPARKS FLEW.

The (open) happy ending left me with some questions though, so I’m hoping that there’ll be a next book.

Four and a half
This time it's the slightly crazy but ever so dependable Benny who steps into the limelight. If you recall he previously met Karma, a female who had been Mated to a long dead Kurzon soldier and boy did that leave a lasting impression ! Yep poor Benny suddenly found himself with a Mating Mark and now he's finally tracked her down.
Karma has led a sheltered life and has no idea about the lies she's been told. Now she finds herself with the dreaded Seven and knows she's about to die a painful death. Yet things just are not what she expected but then again she's not exactly been honest herself !
I absolutely loved Benny as he's just such a hoot. He may be big, bad and brawny but he's also sweet, loyal and I have to say a touch blind at times ! He's determined to give Karma a happier, safer life but its one that doesn't include him. Karma has a lot to learn about being away from the Kurzon nation and she's always going to be a little self effacing but everything about goofy Benny just calls to her. It's just too bad that things don't exactly go to plan.
I truly enjoyed being back in this world and it was a joy briefly seeing what feels like old friends. For this reader it was especially joyful because my favourite Bear featured in all his grumpy, ursine glory ! Full of action and hot steamy moments but there's also humour and adorable sweetness but my lips are sealed.
This voluntary take is of a copy I requested and my comments and thoughts are honest and I believe fair

I really liked Benny in the older books and was excited for his story. But I was disappointed and confused when the book ended.

What worked :

1 Benny was amazing. As usual. He's funny, crazy, strong, smart all of it. He's great with kids, with the Seven, even political situations - but he wont admit it.

2 We get to see characters from the old gang - Dage & Emma, Bear, Nick and Simone.

3 Drake is the most and only interesting character involved in the prophecy.

What didn't work :

1 Karma. I tried to like her and keep an open mind but that didn't help. She makes friends, learns to fight and takes down evil but you cant connect with her.
You dont buy these two as a couple.

The women in the books related to the Seven have been a hit and miss for me. Mercy, Haven and Promise were fantastic.
Faith, Grace and Karma were ok.

2 The thought loop.

Some characters are locked in a thought loop and dont do anything else. At all.

For example :

Hope - Meet Drake in dreamworld. Save the world....And Libby.
Her thoughts always end with and Libby. The only thing I know about Libby is that she is a feline shifter who had to move away due to political reasons.

Pax - Drake is bad. Peace is bad. Seven is bad.

Next is Sam's book. Im really looking forward to it. Fingers crossed.

Karma comes in her own time
This book is just amazing! Benny has always been one of my favorite characters, and I absolutely love that Karma finally gets her HEA. Not to mention getting to see more of the other key characters and getting to delve deeper into the final destination for the current war. Like with all her books, the author kept the action and intensity high throughout the book keeping me glued to my seat until the very end. Be sure you are prepared to hunker down for the long haul when you open this book. Because this is one that will suck you in and not let go until the last page turns. If you are like me, you are going to love every minute of it.

Please note that some familiarity with the series is assumed in this spoiler-free review.

Three years ago, Benjamin "Benny" Reese, the crazy one of the Seven, touched the hand of a Kurjan Soti as he tried to rescue her. A mating mark appeared on his hand. Since that time, he's been trying to get back to Karma. He finally rescues her. But is she really the escapee that she seems? Or does she have her own agenda?
***
Benny, who was often crazy and reckless in past books, is, well, still a bit crazy and reckless. But there's a method to his madness. He's a protective warrior who will do anything for those he feels responsible for. He also has a soft spot for Karma, and she sees his kindness.

Karma was fed lies by the Kurjans, and believes she's going to be tortured by the Realm. She's been sheltered, and knows nothing of money, for instance, and little of the world except for what she reads in bootleg romance novels. (When she's finally out in the world, she wonders where all the handsome firefighters and pirates are.) She's meek and naive to start with, having been beaten down for centuries, but gains strength throughout the book.

I won't give the plot away, but the Seven have a reason to not trust Karma, and Karma has a reason to go back to the Kurjans, even though one of the cruelest wants to make her his mate. There's lots of suspense and lots of fighting. Hope, Paxton, and Drake make appearances. Garrett's and Sam's stories are set up.

Rebel's Karma is another hit from the talented Rebecca Zanetti.

3.5 stars.

Benjamin Reese hides his lethality behind his good-natured sense of humor and fierce loyalty. He’s a warrior, charged with defending his brothers and defeating their enemies at all costs. When he meets a lovely, delicate woman on one of his missions to enemy territory, a woman once mated to a Kurjan no less, every primitive instinct he has demands he claim her. With his mating mark now strong on his hand, Benny is determined to ensure her safety.

Karma has lived a long time as a widow among hostile people and doesn’t even remember her life before. She’s determined to do all she can to protect the innocent women kidnapped by the Kurjans. Right now, that means going against Benny even as she feels herself falling for him. But if she’s to save her adopted twin girls, she has little choice but to act the spy for the Kurjans, all the while her heart is in danger from Benny.

This book was fast paced and full of action and battle scenes, yet it somehow still wound up being a slow burn. There was a distinct cycle of attack à kidnap à rescue that got a bit repetitive for me and the romance definitely took a backseat. I also felt like Karma had more connection with her adopted daughters than she really did with Benny and their relationship came just a little too late for me to really love it. Benny was sweet and I liked seeing him gain confidence in his own lovability. Karma was frustrating for me with how sheltered she was, but this did show her character growth nicely. Overall, I did enjoy this story, but I wanted more from the romance aspect than we really got.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Blog link: https://mustreadalltheromance.blogspo...

Oh how fun it was to watch Benjamin Reese fall for a slip of a woman, Karma. She is to small, to delicate and to much a lady for Benny, but fate had its own idea.
Karma has lived centuries under the Kurjan’s control. Widowed early in life she learned to be as invisible as possible. Unable to mate again her only use to serve the Kurjan’s. With them kidnapping enhanced females she determined to find away to free them and the twin girls she’s taken on as her own children.
I loved how Karma called him Benjamin and how he was hell bent to make Karma see her bravery and strength.
What starts out as a secrets and lies may turn out to be a lifetime of love if they survive.
I recommend this book and series but it must be read in order. You will not regret it because all the books are awesome!

Benny!! Bennnnnny! I loved you as much as I thought I would. You were crazy, protective, and funny as hell, but still Karma stole the show from you. She’s a woman that is pure quite strength, and it was a refreshing change of pace for a heroine of this series. A nice way to show that all kinds of women can be heroes and save themselves, while still enjoying the discovery of her sexuality with a hot and super sexy warrior. This books is nonstop right from the start, just like all the others in the series. But somehow the author manages to never make anything feel rushed, the storyline always has the perfect flow. And of course we get to spend time with some favourites from past books which is just the icing on the yummy cake that is this book. My only complaint is I would have loved more scenes with the twins girls and Benny, so cute. I know Sam’s book is next, but I desperately need Garrett’s, so I really, really hope he’s next in line after Sam’s.

I Won A Kindle Copy of Rebel's Karma from the Goodreads Giveaway contest.

I will admit I am a bit prejudice in my rating of Rebel's Karma, because it has everything I don't like to read in a Paranormal Romance. I am not sure this was a Romance. The story centers on torture, fight scenes where the good vampires get there buts handed to them by the Kurjans. To many different types of Paranormal creatures for one series. I like more of a centered series. Who names a Warrior Benny, its sounds more for and intellectual type then a warrior.

I really liked Benny and Karma. I loved the twins but we really don't get to met them until the end. The story is face paced. I had to refresh my memory because I stopped reading this series after bk 8. So there is a gap in the back story for me. So 3 Stars!!

Thanks to the Author and Goodreads for the giveaway!!

He’s always had Karma😍

Benny’s story is the one I’ve been patiently waiting for and it does not disappoint❣️Benny finds his mate in Karma at a Kurjan camp upon rescuing enhanced females but it takes him approximately three years to find her and free her from them….unfortunately there are things he doesn’t know about her and what the Kurjans have done😳

Suffice to say I absolutely loved this story and the ending was absolutely hilarious with a good glimpse at their future😁 Super excited for more of this series as I cannot get enough of these immortals🤩 I received an advanced copy via Netgalley and voluntarily leave my honest review❤️

Benny it seems like we've been waiting for since he made his appearance in the Reese Brothers series in the 1000 dark night series.
And after so much teasing we fans always wondered what kind of mate would finally get Benny to settle.
Well her name is Karma! What a fitting name for the mate of the man who always waited for some kind of Karma to get him.
Karma for intents and purposes just wanted to do what she did, which was to live her life without being seen. Until two little girls needed her to protect her. And her better than Benny.
A story that started off with a rescue leaded to a live story that involved trust, loyalty and love.
Can't wait for the next installment.

We've only ever seen the fun loving non serious side of Benny. Little did we all know what was lurking just under the surface.

I read and listen to the audible of this book and loved every second of it.

An action and suspense-filled paranormal rollercoaster ride with a gorgeous romance, Rebecca Zanetti’s Dark Protectors series continues with the long-awaited story for Benjamin (Benny) Reese – hilarious yet badass vampire/demon hybrid, and member of the Seven.

Note - This book is not a standalone, so make sure you’re up to date on events in this series before making a starts on this one.

Benny found his destined mate in the last book of the series – an enhanced female who was once mated to a Kurjan, and who know lives as a prisoner of the Kurjan leaders. Though he has no intention of actually mating Karma (knowing that it’s his fate to die as a member of the Seven), he can’t leave her in the hands of the bad guys, so he breaks her out, and brings her into his world.

“Just leave. Take an opening and find freedom,” she whispered tersely, her stomach cramping. “Forget about me.”
“Not a chance.” His gaze ran over her face like a physical touch … “Get ready, darlin’. We’re about to escape this place.”

Karma was married only for a very brief time, and her husband died centuries ago. Since then, she has lived as a captive/slave for the Kurjans, and has been fed all kinds of false information about the Realm. Having been downtrodden for so long, and fearing for her life amongst those that she wrongfully fears will torture her, watching her interact with the boys of the Realm, and their inquisitive Queen, is so entertaining. And I love her strength, intelligence and sense of wonder as she begins to explore and understand her new reality, with Benny as her guide.

“I also read a novel about vampires who sparkled in the sun, and I truly enjoyed it…” She wanted to sparkle. Who didn’t? “Wouldn’t it be lovely to sparkle, Benjamin?”
His face seemed to morph in every direction and then settled back into place. “Covert Ops would be difficult if I sparkled, but I guess everyone deals with obstacles.”

The dynamic between Benny and Karma is fantastic. Being destined mates, of course there is chemistry there, and their attraction is undeniable. But Benny refuses to subject Karma to losing another mate, and can only give her something casual. But she is a woman who is beginning to understand what she wants, and appreciates the fact that she can have it, and when they finally cave in to all of that sexual tension, it’s hot as all hell!

“I’m done holding back, sweetheart. I’m not nice or easy or casual. I’m just me. You in or out?”
“In,” she breathed.

But the Kurjans are watching, and while Benny is fighting to protect Karma, she has a mission of her own to protect those that she loves. It’s a wild ride full of action, intrigue, suspense and a whole lot of badassery, and I loved it! The story moves at a great pace, and I was glued to my kindle the whole way through.

There is more time spent with Garret, Logan and Sam (FTW), and some great cameos from series faves. Things are developing with Hope and her destiny, and I’m so intrigued where the series is going to go from here. It’s building up to its big finish, and with only a few books left, I am so excited for what is to come.

I loved this one. Sexy, action-packed and intense with a gorgeously sweet love story, it’s such a fun read.

4.5 stars!

Another solid installment in this long running PNR series from Rebecca Zanetti, and we are inching closer to the climax in the arc surrounding the Seven and their conflict with the Kurjans. It follows the romance of Benjamin Reese and Karma, the former mate of a Kurjan soldier.

Karma is a little different than most of the heroines in this series in that she is not a modern woman. She is hundreds of years old, but because she has been trapped with the Kurjans all these years, she is stuck in their old fashioned and misogynistic mindset. The men there treat women like servants and Terre (the ruthless brother to their leader) wants to have her for his own. Only the allergy that stems from her old mating prevents it. But once he realizes Benny intends to rescue her, he hatches a plan to let it happen. That way, she can get the shot to break that mating and help him spy on the Realm at the same time. She agrees only because her adopted daughters are being held as hostages.

Anyway, she likes long skirts and worries about speaking her mind, while Benny is the same brand of overprotective warrior as all the other guys in the series. Thankfully, though, because of her background and disposition, he isn't as obnoxious about it. AND HE NEVER SPANKS HER which I am not sure we have every successfully avoided in this series. (I'll give it an extra half-star just for that.) He is supposed to be "crazy" but I never found him so. Just a little unconventional.

Their romance progresses as you would expect as Karma is willing to sacrifice herself for her daughters and Benny fights tooth and nail to keep her safe. (Did I mention she can also see dead people?)

We get to spend a little time with Hope, Pax, and Drake. They're all in their mid-teens now. And y'all, I am 100% team Pax. I know this triangle kind of mirrors the one involving Janie in the past --and I was down with her HEA being on the other side of the battle-- but here... let's just say I'll be very disappointed if Drake ends up the guy.

We're not a lot closer on the Ulrich storyline, but we are running out of heroes, so maybe... three more books?

As always in this series, great world building, a great wide-cast of supporting characters and lots of action. Would recommend.

I’ve liked Benny since he was first introduced, so I couldn’t wait to read his story. It didn’t disappoint. Benny’s always been the crazy one of The Seven, so it only seemed fitting he’d find out that his mate, Karma, had been mated to a Kurjan.

It took me a little while to warm up to Karma. She comes across as weak at first, except for when it comes to the two little girls she’s raising as her own after their mother’s death. She’s naive about what’s really going on in the world, having only the Kurjan’s lies to go on. Benny opens her eyes to the truth of the Realm and The Seven. It was interesting to watch her become stronger and more confident as the book progressed, and she eventually grew on me.

Benny is still Benny, but this time readers get to see how protective he is of his mate. I absolutely loved his interactions with Belle and Benny, Karma’s adopted daughters. He’s initially unsure around them, as they are with him, but he does his best to make them feel at ease. Their interactions are adorable.

The story of Hope, Pax, and Drake continues. It’s been several years since they’ve all interacted in the dreamworld, but they’ve been able to resume. It’ll be interesting to see how this triangle works out. Readers also get to see a bit of Drake outside of the dreamworld in this book. At times it seems like he’s leaning towards the dark side, but other times it seems like maybe he’s not so bad. He’s a bit of an enigma, and I can’t wait to see which side is the real Drake.

This is the thirteenth book in the series. If you haven’t read any of the books, I do recommend starting with Vampire’s Faith. That is the book where The Seven are first introduced, and there’s an ongoing storyline involving Uric being imprisoned in another dimension by The Seven. That continues in this book as well, and if you haven’t read the previous books involving it, you will probably feel a little lost.

This is a great addition to the series, and I’m looking forward to see what’s going to happen next.

Hot humorous hybrid alert! Karma is about to kick Benny's keister in the best kinda way!
*****
Rating: 5 stars
Flames: 2 flames
Genre: PNR
*****
I knew Benny was going to be some kind of special, but he was so incredibly special that he almost stole my heart from Quade... almost.

Benny is on a mission to find the woman that triggered the mating mark during a daring rescue of enhanced females from the Kurjans. Three years he has been searching and finally he has found her but what he finds may shock him.

Karma has been under Kurjan control for centuries, and untouchable since her mate died. Thankfully due to the mating allergy she has been spared Kurjan male advances, but she hasn't been spared cruelty, threats, beatings and lies. When Benny is captured and brought to the Kurjan stronghold she is charged with helping him heal so the Kurjans can torture him. She expects to find a broken, scared, evil demon vampire hybrid, but what she finds is far from it. Come on folks, it’s Benny… she instead finds a sarcastic, and more than a little crazy, funny, kind, and considerate immortal!

Karma is not a modern woman; she has never been given choices and she is suspicious of everyone. The Kurjan’s have spewed propaganda to their people to ensure that all Kurjans and females are scared of The Realm and the Seven. Karma expects nothing shy of Satan himself when meeting Benny.

With each of the Dark Protector's I feel a sense of contentment. Like coming home to a warm fire, huckleberry pancakes, and a nice glass of wine with friends. With each book, I know that I will never be disappointed, and that the storyline is going to be engaging, keep me on the edge of my seat, and fall in love with new characters. Rebel's Karma exceeded all my expectations and Benny is now my second fave member of the Seven.

This book is filled with twists, turns, love, healing, growth, and so much more. If you enjoy books that are exceptionally well-written, strong storylines, fantastic characters, and suspense that keeps you on edge… PICK UP THIS SERIES! A must read, all the stars recommendation from me!

Benny had let himself get captured so he could find Karma. When she finds him in one of the holding cells and tries to help him, he let's her know that he's been looking for three years for her. He wants to save her from the Kurjans but she's not sure she can trust him. Karma had once been mated to a Kurjan and now can't be touched by any other males or they will both develop a rash. Benny is a demon vampire hybrid and he tells her that he came back for her because the mating mark appeared on him three years ago when he touched her and tried to save her but she doesn't believe him at first.

Once back with his people, Karma thinks that Benny is bringing her with him so she can be killed or so that the queen can do experiments on her. But even though she slowly begins to accept that they aren't going to kill her, she has a huge secret. When Benny and the others realize what her secret is, they aren't too happy but they don't know if she's in on it or being coerced. They also don't know that the dead mother of the twin girls she left behind keeps badgering her to go back and save them from the Kurjans.

I really liked how Benny is with Karma and how Karma finally finds herself among all of them. Benny is my favorite of the seven so far. He's such a warrior and he knows that the final battle is going to happen before the others think it's going to happen but he really proved that he was worthy of someone like Karma.

This book was interesting since we get to see the Kurjan's from Karma's perspective. The Kurjan's and Ulric are crazy dangerous and now we know that they have to be taken out and hopefully the seven will be able to do it soon.
