London fraud investigator Nick Shannon knows how hard it can be to get justice. So to prove that inspector Samantha Stone is being falsely accused of embezzling police funds, Nick delves deep into the operations of the Metropolitan Police. And with luck, his investigation might just lead to the information he needs most: the truth behind the unsolved hit-and-run that resulted in his sister’s death, put Nick in prison and almost destroyed him.
But from the start, Nick’s hottest leads flame out. Promising suspects turn out to be innocent. And uncovering pervasive corruption beneath the department’s much-lauded record puts a target on his back. Now Nick has only one fragile chance to trap a killer before a blue wall of murder crushes him—and the truth—for good.
Paul Bennett was born in London and educated at Alleyn's school in Dulwark. He studied Economics at Exeter University and spent seven years in advertising. When he left advertising, he set up a market research agency whuch he sold in 1986. He has now semi-retired in order to pursue writing. Bennett lives in a converted barn in Essex with his wife and two daughters.
Another gem from Paul. Almost two separate books. One fraud and the other a coverup for a hit and run. They slowly meld into each other. How Paul manages this shows a brilliant writer. Never a batch of books by one writer so quick. Blue on blue has the foundation for a brilliant film. Thanks Paul, please do some more.
Nick Shannon is a fraud investigator and is still seeking the truth about his sisters serious road accident. He is asked to investigate a fraud involving a police officer and to clear her name. As is always the case with Nick he uncovers far more than what his remit was. A good read which kept me guessing.
A good book if you want a quick read. S little too simplistic if you want to try and solve the case before the end as it is a little obvious. Ideal for a train or plane journey.
Nick Shannon, a fraud investigater with a criminal past, is tasked with a million problems...namely, fraudulently stolen pounds from the police s. It looks like a popular officer is being framed
I’ve done both throughout this book. I read the first four of this series and fell in love with Nick and his struggles and beliefs. I’ll move onto number six now but I highly recommend this author and hi# other series’s too.
First Bennett novel that I have read and it was excellent. Great characters, great story , great fun. Will now move on to the next books and hopefully enjoy as much!!!
