Cora Kenborn is a USA Today Bestselling and Top 50 Amazon Bestselling author whose readers have affectionately dubbed her the “queen of plot twists that’ll ruin your day in the best way.”

Best known for her dark mafia romances, Cora has an insatiable bad boy obsession, which she believes started in the third grade when she chose Bruce over Todd in the Sweet Valley High books. To this day, give her an unhinged antihero who falls hard for a feisty heroine, and you’ve won her heart.

As a native North Carolinian, Cora claims the domestic Southern Belle gene skipped right over her. Her villain origin story was the day she tried making her mother’s famous biscuits and gravy, only to turn them into paste-covered dough bricks. That’s when she decided fiction was better than reality, and microwaved mac and cheese counted as fine dining.

This is just a taste of what’s to come with – in this short read we read about Sam and Lola story’s -𝗕𝗼𝗿𝗻 𝗦𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗿 is a standalone novella prequel to the 𝘾𝙤𝙧𝙧𝙪𝙥𝙩 𝙂𝙤𝙙𝙨 𝘿𝙪𝙚𝙩.

He is from the Columbian cartels and She is from Mexican cartels need I say more… Their families have been locked in a deadly war for over twenty years, there has been casualties on both sides, but these two-play a sexy and dangerous game of cat and mouse

María Daiz . Aka Lola Carrera
she hates it, but it was a small price to pay in order to trade her sheltered existence for the American dream. American freedom.

In the short time that she has been in America, she has fastly learned that, she isn’t royalty here, … in Mexico She is a bona fide Carrera cartel princess ,

She was warned Trust no one. No one is your friend, They’re only an enemy in waiting. Suspect everyone. Everyone is a snake. Some are just better at shedding their skin.

Sam Colton…How could the hottest, most popular boy on campus be the most hazardous to my health?

His real last name is Sanders instead of Colton. He took his mother’s maiden name the day he enrolled at Rutgers. Lola and Sam are both at the college under false pretenses to protect them from the war that’s raging up and down the East Coast.

She’s the daughter of the enemy. It’s Mexico versus Colombia. It’s the past versus our present.
She was meant to be my way into Santiago’s organization…… He is in over his head, and he is drowning, and he doesn’t even know it …. Obsession is a loaded gun, and tonight my patience is dead and bleeding.

I really enjoyed this short read a lot, and I'm excited to see how Santi Carrera and Thalia Santiago story will take off.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (reread)

''Catch me, and I'm yours forever''

Safety warnings:
- No cheating
- No OW/OM drama

- HFN

I would recommend reading Devils and Dust, Santiago Trilogy and Grayson Duet by Catherine Wiltcher and also the Carrera Cartel Collection (+ ''Stained White Lines'' bonus scene) by Cora Kenborn to really understand the backstory of everyone and their parents.

SPOILERS BELOW ⬇️

SPOILERS BELOW ⬇️

SPOILERS BELOW ⬇️

SPOILERS BELOW ⬇️

This is a novella so it's a quick read and it does have a HFN ending.

We know Sam Sanders from the past books in Catherine's world, he is the son that Rick Sanders believed was his until he was 3 years old when the truth came out. However, he took the title of father and is Sam's only father figure. He was raised in the world that Rick and Dante/Joseph are a part of.

Lola is the daughter of Valentin Carrera, and she is currently in the states attending University where she meets Sam. Even though he is using his mother’s maiden name in school so nobody knows his connections which means Lola has no idea who he is related to but he knows exactly who she is and cannot help himself from wanting the enemy.

If you need backstory why these two big families hate each other, read the bonus scene about the red wedding found in the Carrera Cartel Collection. It'll give you a much better insight as two wtf happened.

Lola and Sam develop an intense relationship where he brands her with the letter ''S'' which is mistaken as Santiago, but it really stands for ''Sanders'' and he was branding her for himself, he later brands himself with ''L'' to prove his devotion to her.

They are separated for quite a long time but come back together when they get a chance and you know they both have not been with anyone and they are in love but because of their families they cannot openly reveal anything so they keep the world in the dark.

It's an HFN because their story will continue in the Corrupt Gods duet, and we get a definitive HEA for them.

This is a novella read but it’s quite a decent length it’s a forbidden enemies romance between two opposing cartel families the Carrera’s and the Santiago’s. Lola Carrera cartel princess is at college under an assumed name smack bang in Santiago territory Sam knows that to want Lola for anything other than to mess with her is totally forbidden but he can’t seem to help himself he’s just drawn to her and wants her for his own Lola feels the same way.

After he rescues her from a dicey situation he leaves his calling card etched in Lola’s skin one her brother instantly recognises. This act again triggering up tensions that have been long-simmering away and Lola and Sam will be caught in the crosshairs if they don’t act smart.

This was short and sweet but packed with heat. I can’t wait to learn more about these two in the future and when we left this they were in a HFN but still hiding their affections from both of their families. I’m sure it’s all going to blow up in their faces and the fallout is still to come. I enjoyed this a lot it definitely whetted my appetite for things to come it was well written and a fabulous introduction for what’s to come next.

“The slow burn in my chest ignites, bursting into a dull red flame.
Obsession is a loaded gun, and tonight my patience is dead and bleeding.
No one, I repeat no one, gets to suck or fuck that body, other than me.”

Lola Carrera has a story too. It was one that I was absolutely dying to know more of when I was reading Bad Blood (her brothers story).

Lola and Sam have a story to tell like no other. I had no idea the relationship was this intricate. And I needed more.
“Danger is the most addictive drug, and Sam has me hooked.”
What can I say? These two are pure fire. Eyes meet across a room and play a dangerous game of cat and mouse with eachother.
Lola is college student but trying to experience “normal life” out of her cartel Princess world she grew up in. Problem is, college boys are not on her menu.
Sam Colton is instantly enthralled by Lola. He has a tracking device on her car, hacked into the college and apartment security cameras. And leaves his mark in areas that she will find. My crazy ass thinks it’s kind a hot. Lol.
“Checkmate.”

I have no idea what the authors are going with this novella. This book, Born Sinner is a novella 0.5... which means the next book if you’re reading in order, would be Bad Blood. That book is about two different characters (with Sam and Lola being side characters).

So I’m wondering when we are going to get more of Lola and Sam. Maybe book 2 will be about both couples? I have no idea and to be quite honest I don’t care as long as I get more. Lol I absolutely love this entire world these two authors created for us.

Born Sinner is a sexy and exciting story with forbidden love and an erotic cat-and-mouse game between two fierce characters. Cora Kenborn and Catherine Wiltcher wove a seamless novella, combining their fantastic storytelling skills to give readers a fast-paced, thrilling ride.

The writing in this story was excellent and the dual POVs flowed flawlessly. They packed a lot into this story, and I really enjoyed the way the characters were written. Sam was like a younger, more belligerent version of his step-father Rick and I loved it. The stalking, the notes, the fixation on Lola- everything about him made me want to keep reading more. Lola was just as captivating to read about. She was strong and intelligent and determined to live her life on her terms. This story was novella length but I could have kept reading about these two for hours. This story gave us a small taste what's to come with the upcoming Corrupt Gods duet by this author duo, and I for one cannot wait for it.

𝗕𝗼𝗿𝗻 𝗦𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗿: 𝗔 𝗗𝗮𝗿𝗸 𝗠𝗮𝗳𝗶𝗮 𝗥𝗼𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 is the standalone prequel novella to the 𝗖𝗼𝗿𝗿𝘂𝗽𝘁 𝗚𝗼𝗱𝘀 𝗗𝘂𝗲𝘁 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀. The 𝗖𝗼𝗿𝗿𝘂𝗽𝘁 𝗚𝗼𝗱𝘀 𝗗𝘂𝗲𝘁 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 is the story of the Carrera Cartel and the Santiago Cartel at war. 20 years later the war between rivals brews stronger than ever. Now, the children of the cartel rivals have their own stories to tell. Cora Kenborn and Catherine Wiltcher merged these two worlds perfectly creating a dark, twisted romance that sizzles off the pages!

𝗖𝗼𝗿𝗿𝘂𝗽𝘁 𝗚𝗼𝗱𝘀 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱:
𝘽𝙤𝙧𝙣 𝙎𝙞𝙣𝙣𝙚𝙧 (𝙥𝙧𝙚𝙦𝙪𝙚𝙡 𝙣𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙡𝙡𝙖)
𝘽𝙖𝙙 𝘽𝙡𝙤𝙤𝙙
𝙏𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙙 𝘽𝙡𝙤𝙤𝙙

𝗕𝗼𝗿𝗻 𝗦𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗿 is Lola Carrera and Sam Sanders forbidden, steamy, twisted and stalkerish affair. This story starts out with dark elements explaining how and why Sam is near Lola. The deep-rooted hatred between the cartel rivals forces its way into the lives of their children. Lola is caught in the crossfire and grew up knowing this would always be her destiny. She wants a normal way of life, yet attending college isn’t that easy when you’re the daughter of a Mexican cartel boss and sister of the current cartel boss of the New Jersey syndicate.

As you can see, Lola’s got baggage. Told in dual POV, Lola wants freedom and Sam wants Lola. Sam Sanders, Rutgers student and cartel member is dark, twisted AF and our hot, possessive stalker. It’s his “job” to stalk Lola, isn’t it? He “hates” her because he has to… doesn’t he? Sam is a sick fu**, but Lola loves it.

Wait until you read the crazy things Sam does. He takes it so far and this novella really goes there blurring the lines on what’s appropriate. There’s a lot of angst, longing and moments stolen in the shadows as this is a forbidden lust filled romance that the two simply cannot have.

𝗕𝗼𝗿𝗻 𝗦𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗿 sets the tone for the rest of the series, however I read 𝗕𝗮𝗱 𝗕𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗱 first as it was published before 𝗕𝗼𝗿𝗻 𝗦𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗿. This book answers all of my previous questions about the relationship between Sam and Lola that spans over three books but is mainly solidified in this one.

The continuation of Sam and Lola’s story will be told at the end of 𝗧𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗕𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗱.

I highly recommend this entire sexy, fast paced series. I can’t wait for the next set of books.

𝓡𝓔𝓥𝓘𝓔𝓦

𝗕𝗼𝗿𝗻 𝗦𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗿 is a standalone novella prequel to the 𝘾𝙤𝙧𝙧𝙪𝙥𝙩 𝙂𝙤𝙙𝙨 𝘿𝙪𝙚𝙩. In this book, we met 𝐋𝐨𝐥𝐚 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐫𝐚 and 𝐒𝐚𝐦 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐭𝐨𝐧/𝐒𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬. Lola is the younger sister of 𝐒𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐢 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐫𝐚 which starred in the first Duet. Ngl novellas are tricky to rate most of the times, y? Because there's only a short amount of time for the narrative to expand and the characters to flourish.

Anyways despite this being a novella, I do not sense any lacking of facet primarily when it comes to the storyline execution. Yeah, this narrative pretty much ends with a "ℎ𝑎𝑝𝑝𝑦 𝑓𝑜𝑟 𝑛𝑜𝑤" but it's fine because this is just 𝑜𝑛𝑙𝑦 the beginning. There so much more to come...

Overall I enjoyed this a lot, and I'm excited to see how Santi Carrera and Thalia Santiago story will take off.

REVIEW OF THE STORY:
I was craving a Mexican cartel story, so I decided to give this book a shot. Although the main characters are from opposing Mexican cartel families, the story takes place in America, so I didn’t get the geographical stuff I was itching for.

This installment is listed as a prequel, and it is, but it’s the prequel to Lola and Sam’s story which is not told in the next book or anywhere in this series other than in this book. As prequels tend to do, in the end, we were left with a lot to learn about both characters, so I was very disappointed to learn that i’ll probably never get those answers. I’m ready for their complete story which, apparently, I may never get. If I had known that going in, I would’ve skipped this prequel and started with book #1. Aside from those disappointing factors, it was a fun, sexy story!

Even though this book had an editor AND 2 different proofreaders, my eyes still homed in on several mistakes. Luckily, there weren’t as many as there usually are in indie books, but there were still more than I would expect after three professionals scrutinized it. If you don’t want to hear about the specifics, this is where my review ends. Otherwise, continue reading.

Let me start off by saying I need more! While this is a short story, it sure packs a punch! Lola and Sam are unreal characters! They come from rival families and these two should never be together. The chemistry between them is chart topping especially because it’s forbidden! Who doesn’t love a story about forbidden love! But is it love? or lust? or both?! All I know is that I fell in love with both of them.

Sam is sarcastic and so very sexy, definitely all alpha. And Lola, while young, has grown up in a world where life changes on a dime, so when she encounters Sam, she is torn. They both want each other, but the destruction it could cause is insurmountable!

These two authors who have collaborated before, prove again why they are two of my absolute favorites! This story has mystery, intrigue, darkness and so much more! I really hope that this becomes a full length story! Just brilliant!

This collaboration of Born Sinner by two incredibly talented authors is a must read! The story of Lola and Sam packs a huge punch in a short story. Two feuding cartels and sworn enemies, the forbidden love (maybe it's only lust) between these two is off the charts sizzling hot! There's exhilarating suspense, intrigue, and sinfully arousing magnetism. Their predator and mouse game is epic! If you've read the Carrera Cartel Collection by Cora Kenborn or the Santiago Triology by Catherine Wiltcher, you won't want to skip out on reading this. If you haven't had the pleasure of reading the above mentioned books, after reading Born Sinner it's sure to tantalize you enough to want to read them.

Born Sinner - Catherine Wiltcher & Cora Kenborn. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Read as part of The Stalk-er Anthology.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Whenever these two incredible authors get together you know you're in for a treat. They're two of the best when it comes to Mafia/Cartel stories.
Born Sinner was a pure adrenalin rush, a prequel to their highly anticipated Corrupt Gods Trilogy and I fuxking loved it.

Sam and Lola lure us in with their cat and mouse twisted story, the dark dangerous game they're playing is forbidden but HOLY SH!T their chemistry is undeniable. It's pure lust mixed with obsession, an intoxicating combination. They shouldn't be together but defiance is a powerful aphrodisiac they can't deny. I'm so excited to see what's instore for them both.

After reading their first co write in the Carrera Cartel boxset, I knew this would be just as epic and I certainly wasn't wrong. We are now seeing the kids from 2 much loved Mafia's, and their story is proving to be just as deadly if not more so, than their parents.
This co-writing duo is definitely one to watch, I for one cannot wait to see how the rest of the story plays out.

Mafia Cat & Mouse Game

Sam and Lola are definitely playing a dangerous game with the Columbian and Mexican cartels. Their families are locked in a deadly war and these two are pushing the line. This story is sinfully hot and crazy intense which made it impossible to put down. These two authors have put together a book you don't want to miss and make me wanting for more.

Born Sinner is a steamy and forbidden enemies to lovers novella set in the Santiago/Carerra world. It’s the prequel novella to the Corrupt Gods duet.

Sam and Lola come from rival families and should never be together. Lola is a Carerra and is Mexican Cartel royalty. She’s strong, intelligent and determined to live her life on her terms. She’s in college in America trying to live a normal life. Sam is a Sanders and the step-son of a powerful politician. His godfather is the head of the Santiago Cartel. Their eyes meet across a crowded room and a powerful but dangerous game of cat and mouse begins.

Born Sinner may be a novella but it’s really intense and quick paced, it will definitely leave you wanting more. I was hooked from the start and couldn’t put it down. I loved the push and pull of Sam and Lola’s characters. Their chemistry is insane and they are perfect for each other. For me they are the Romeo and Juliet of the cartels. As expected Catherine and Cora deliver another hot, steamy, amazing rollercoaster story. I can’t wait to read more of their story in the forthcoming conclusion to the Corrupt Gods duet.

Thank you to you both for sending over yet another fantastic book it’s really appreciated.

Well, what's to say about this book that I haven't already said about your previous books other than again it’s amazing and you’ve done it again.

I couldn’t put the book down from start to finish, it has just gripped me. Obviously, with reading Bad Blood we saw that something had happened between Lola Carrera and Sam Sanders but it didn’t go into detail but this book focuses on their story.

Lola Carrera is the daughter of the notorious kingpin Val Carrera head of the Mexican cartel and Sam is the son of Rick sanders who had affiliations with the notorious Dante Santiago for many years with Dante being Sams Godfather.

This is an amazing story with two rival cartels at war but two unlikely people coming together and faking into a forbidden relationship that if found out will start wars.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I’m really looking for to the next book in this series Tainted Blood to see the conclusion to this amazing story.

This book is highlighted to the max. There's not a lot I can't share though as SAM has the most filthiest mouths ever.!! I love him, everytime I read a book by these authors I say this one is the best one lol. Each book just gets better and better I don't know how it possible because there all amazing.

This book is set before Bad Blood. I would say read this first. Lola and Sam book is epic, not long enough but epic.
He is on another level. I feel like that book is one of the most dirtiest books, these two amazing authors have written. This book is deffinty a bit more rougher, all the feels.
I want to use her. Complete her. Dirty up her tongue. Stain her insides. Spread her perfect ass cheeks and lavish attention on the most secret part of her.

I mean he is everything. I really hope there more to come, well there has to be.! With that ending.
Not enough I need more from this world. July 7th can't come soon enough.!!!

Is Mr Senator Rick Sanders getting a book? I'm desperate for his story. How he ends up with Sam as a his child. I have some many questions.

♥️🌼Stalkers Anthology🌼♥️
Since the only book I read in the stalkers anthology is Born Sinner by Cora Kenborn and Catherine Wiltcher, it’s the only one I can review...but that book alone is worth the cost of this anthology...♥️🌼
Also....this book isn’t long enough...Lola and Sam are nuclear hot, and they need their own full-length book...These two will set the world, each other and your kindle on fire...I mean...it’s Lola Carerra, the mafia princess daughter of Valentin and Eden, one of the most explosive couples ever written ...you just know Lola is a bada-s all on her own...but when you throw Sam and his obsession with Lola, and his need to prove himself, in the mix...it’s like playing Russian Roulette...you never know when those two are gonna detonate...but you know it’s just a matter of when...not if...and Daddy, Mommy and big brother, Santi are doing everything they can to just keep her away from the bullets...both figuratively and literally...I really loved Born Sinner...♥️🌼

This novella is short but intense. For those of you who have read the action-packed The Carrera Cartel series by Cora Kenborn, you'll be familiar with the main female character, Lola. Lola is Val and Eden's daughter, and we see how is she doing and how her brother is doing. Chances want that she's allured to the dark side, and who lingers in the dark? The mysterious Sam, who is not only attracted to Lola as she is to him, he's also connected to her in some ways. Lola and Sam's connection is strong. She knows she shouldn't trust him, and that she should listen to her brother and father when they say she needs to lay low. Lola is a free spirit, so this comes hard to her, but it's not impossible. The story seems to tie perfectly, but I wonder if the authors have the intention to continue it?! Because it has great potential, and I would love to read more of the mafia sides of this story. Totally recommend!!

Be prepared to take one thrilling ride with Lola and Sam.
I loved everything about this book!
It’s a quick read but lacks for nothing.
The intensity kept me on edge all the way through.
From start to finish it’s an enthralling captivating read.
Sam and Lola’s lust sizzle, ignite and explode off the pages.
The war between the Mexican and Colombian cartels are at full force.
Blood is being shed.
But the passion between Sam and Lola can not be extinguished nor denied.

These two amazing storytelling authors deliver a sexy danger filled story.
That had me salivating and wanting more.
The writing flows flawlessly and the pace is fast and filled with action and suspense.
The characters are intriguing and I couldn’t help crushing on them.
Their world is a violent one and their escape is in each other arms.
And I can’t wait for more!

Even better.

I initially read this story as part of an anthology. I loved it then but now with the additional content it is even better. I was confused at first when I started book 1 of this series because I wasn't seeing the tie win between these characters and this prequel. It wasn't until the end that it clicked for me. I would advise anyone expecting a continuation of this story to still give it a chance because it is worth it.

These authors are great at what they do. They create a gritty view of the criminal world, enhanced by strong dynamic character, with a touch of suspense, and fiery chemistry. If they write it, whether together or individually, I will click the book faster than a gambling addict in Las Vegas.

This book is what happens when two of my favorite worlds collide. Carrera. Santiago. Two families that hate each other. Two families that should never collide, until they do. This is the story of Lola and Sam. This book has everything I loved from these authors separately. Combined they have created a story that just caused a shift in the universe. I can't wait for more words from this collaboration.
