Note: I received an ARC of this book from the author via Booksprout in exchange for a voluntarily and honest review. Original review on my blog Boekensteeg
Greg Jolley immediately brought the tension to the forground with this first book in the Obscurité de Floride Trilogy. The reader is quickly drawn into the story and then wants to know what exactly is going on.
Molly and April Danser are on the run from an ex-US Marshal who has something to fight out with the sisters. The sisters are nowhere safe and are constantly alert to check if he has not found them again. Their flee is not only spreading across America, but also across Italy. But what have the sisters done that keeps them on the run all the time? Will they manage to stay ahead of the ex-US Marshal or will it still end in bloodshed?
Thieves has a great cover that immediately caught my attention. Gerg Jolley has a very smooth writing style and occasionally it asks the reader to stay focused on the story. The story is never boring and the tension remains constantly. Molly and April are sly sisters, but are they sly enough? Why do people want to take revenge?
I think this beginning of this trilogy is a good start. It’s exciting, the characters all are worked out well, but there are certainly still plenty of open ends for the two sequels within the trilogy.
It is clear that Greg Folley knows how to bring a story to life. But this trilogy is not his first work to be released. He has previously written sixteen novels and a collection. Now he can also add this exciting book to this growing list.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. It took a few pages to get into this book. I really enjoyed the characters. It had a couple of twists I was not expecting. Will be looking out for other books by the author.
I have become an avid fan of Greg Jolley’s writing. He is to the point and doesn’t skirt around things. His writing is a bit darker and deeper and that is a great thing. Action packed, a great mystery and suspense. I would expect no less from him!
The author takes on many different subjects and weaves sub-genres into this suspense. I liked that we had multiple characters to get to know and I feel like I really engaged with them. He weaves them into a cohesive story that grabs the reader. I recommend it to readers looking for for an escape and a great mystery with thrills.
Loved the book it was great, the story was written well and the characters were incredible. This book had you at the start evil villains, action, twistsand turns, drama, thrilling that it keeps you on the edge of your seat. Worth the read.

It’s the story of 2 sisters, April and Molly, who are thieves. Molly is a motorcycle rider and alcoholic and April is the one who sleeps with the Marshall who tries to capture them, although in the end April leaves him penniless, jobless and heartbroken. One thing that all the MCs have in common is that they are screwed in the head in one way or another. For example, the Marshall, JR., talks to his “ghost”, looking for support and ideas on his revenge towards the sisters. The first half of the book was a bit long and boring for me, but when the sisters decides to hunt Jr. after he tried to kill them,oh boy! Things become more interesting. I’m curious to know what the second book of the trilogy is about.
This book has non-stop action and takes you from Italy to Michigan and Florida at a moment's notice. The author does a great job describing each scene in such details that I almost felt I was in the middle of the scene. It was a very quick read because I couldn't wait to see what crazy things the characters were going to do next.
Thrilling and intriguing story with lots of twists and turns. Plenty of drama to keep you turning the pages. Entertaining and interesting characters. Edge of your seat reading. Good read.

I recently won this book and grabbed it up eagerly. It is a fast read- reminds me of an old fashioned ( 60's-70's) scam/romp. I wanted to love it, but I didn't. I liked it. I could not engage with the characters but I thought the romp and the scams were pretty cool. Thank you, Greg, for the fun read. Good escapism.
This was a very different book from my regular reading. It was like an action movie, filled with thrills and adventure. But a little too graphic. I couldn't help but turn the pages to see what happened next. Thank you very much to the author, who sent it to me with no expectation of a certain review. I think I will look for the second book in the trilogy.
This is the kind of book I enjoy reading: Intriguing plot, keeps you engaged, keeps you guessing, enough detail to make it real without boring me to the point my mind drifts.
The characters are believable and likable. The world the author created and draws you in and the plot twists are subtle, and make you think.
